This is a message strictly to Christians. If none of us is perfect, if all of us are sinful, which sin should I be guilty of? Which sin should you be guilty of? If we are all sinful, do we get to pick which sin we are guilty of and is there a hierarchy of sins? At what point do the sinners get accepted, or is it just me that is never is accepted? How does love and forgiveness work, is it about the sinner or forgiveness and grace? Peace. Does it ever become about love or is it always about self?

Preparing to Rest

I worked outside today, had to visit some locations and look at some things. I don't work in the field often, it happens a few times a year; but, I spend most days in the office. It was a beautiful southern California day and those are pretty hard to top. After I got home I walked to the store and just enjoyed the twilight, I am very fortunate to be where I am.

It occurred to me yesterday that I was better off alone for the rest of my life than I had been with my ex-wife. I hate to say it; but, it is true. I don't miss anything I lost, not the house, not the Benz, not the stuff and not even the money. I have gained a peace and now I can rest when I get home, it feels pretty good to know that all the pressures that I felt for so long are going away.

Under Your Skin

Two articles and two issues. The first article is from the Telegraph and is about a new requirement that EVERY dog in England be chipped. Microchips for all dogs to hold owners to account Here is a quote from the article, “Surely anyone who cannot control their dog should not have one,” he said. The "he" was a Lord Renton and the where is England.

Now I had been told that in Australia, rather than license the dog, the person has to get a license to own a dog. What I did not know is that most areas limit you to two dogs and two cats. Oh, and they all have to be spayed or neutered. Now the claim is that viscous dogs need to be monitored; but, why would all the cats need to be chipped? Also, wouldn't it be enough to just neuter all the male animals? I mean if you neuter all the males, they still cannot breed. Not long ago an Australian politician called for paying girls to get fixed. I didn't think that Australia was overcrowded because it is NOT overcrowded.

In China they simplified it in two ways. Firstly, you cannot own more than one dog and secondly, at least in the downtown Luwan District in Shanghai, you have to go to a public hearing and get your neighbors approval to own a dog and if anyone doesn't approve then you cannot own a dog. What is the deal with these crazy dog laws?

There are some crazy laws out there regarding animals, especially dogs. In Sweden they have a law that you have to visit your dog at least twice a day; but, unless it has changed it is still legal to have sex with a dog. There are a few countries that have not allowed having sex with animals; but, many of them require that your dog be spayed or neutered. What is the real issue. Oh, in Canada it is illegal to own a pit bull and a few other breeds.

What is it about dogs that governments hate but people love? They love us back; but, that cannot be it. Oh, I know, they will protect us with their lives. Yes, that is it, they would die for us. My little dog wouldn't even think about it, heck, he won't let anyone in my room when I am asleep, he flips out. I read this article from a Russian site about a particular breed and how it had been labeled dangerous. The author flipped because apparently the breed is known for not being wild; but, protective perhaps. Hmmm.

They have told us in the United States that we should chip our dogs for their protection. The chip doesn't work like a transformer as far a I know. They also require people to spay or neuter their dogs in most places. If your dog is fixed then surely chipping it does nothing to prevent it from breeding. Oh, it is in case our dogs run away; but, why. If the dog is neutered or spayed it will not be breeding wild packs of dogs that are also spayed and neutered.

I love my dog, heck, I love dogs. Dogs think the world of us. My dog still cries sometimes when I go to work. I have been told that it is quite pitiful. The darn dog sleeps in the bed with me every night and never leaves my side if I am in the house, not even to eat until he cannot stand it and sometimes not even then. If I walk outside and the dog is not on a leash, it doesn't really matter because he won't walk five feet from me (he is always on a leash outside anyways).

I don't trust people who don't like dogs. I mean I understand people who are afraid of dogs especially if they had been bit, that is a reasonable response; but, that is not what I am talking about. I am talking about people who just don't like dogs. It has been my experience that dogs usually don't like them. I have also found that they people who don't like dogs usually have something to hide or a certain kind of cruelness to their nature.

There are some dogs that can actually smell cancer in their masters. I have no idea how many peoples lives have been saved by their dogs and under any circumstance that you can imagine, dogs don't care if their master is at risk no price is to great. You may have seen that picture a few weeks back and the story about the dog who a soldier had in a war zone, the soldier returned and died and when they buried him the dog stayed at the grave. They love us even once we are gone.

So what is behind all this dog shenanigans? Aside from the fact that England really doesn't have a dog problem (they put down about 6,000 a year in a country where they have 8.3 million), why should you need to chip every dog, they already have licenses attached to them.

If you could pull up a satellite image of every chip in every dog in the world, you would know where there masters were and the owners information, including their name, address and whatever other information they keep on owners. Just think, all the technology needed to track people who were chipped has already been tested on dogs.

Just to be Clear

I believe in what I believe and will live for it. Risk is as meaningless as reward, doing what is right for the right reason is the answer. We don't hear that promoted a lot. Nope, we hear that we are meaningless, irrelevant and self aware for but a moment and it is all wrong.

Every sentient being matters, even the dumbest and most selfish of us. We all matter because we are all alive. Priorities are only understood when one has to face the consequences at the end of a question, make the final determination as to who we are and what is really important. Just some thoughts and cheap post. Peace.

Sorry my dear readers, a friend was hospitalized and I have a headache. In addition, I didn't see anything in the news I felt like passing on. As for my voice, it is coming back but still pretty weak. As for my friend, seems he will be well; but, boy is he going to hear some things from me when he is better. You don't con me into something and then get out that easy and he has not finished his job as I am not ready to take over some things for him, just yet. Everybody deserves some time off, even the Pimpernel (by the way, he reads the blog and now has some free time).

Off to the Witch Hunts

As the average person becomes aware of how the world is controlled, as the average person becomes aware that they are sheep and have not participated when they could have, as the average person becomes aware of the fact that they do not make the decisions; but, merely chase the cookies of this world, what is their reaction? It is anger and it leads them to making even worse decisions. It leads to things like the French Revolution, rage, not thought.

The world is no longer run by Shepherds or Sheep Dogs, it is run by predators and they devour the sheep. The predators don't care about the sheep; but, they will do everything possible to keep them from moving in mass. They will make sure that they make big splashy promises and make a big deal about doing the right thing; but, the predators do not know what the right thing is; therefore, like the sheep, they overreact. That is their nature. I always bet on the Shepherd and the sheep dogs in the long run.

Two predators were arrested in Los Angeles recently. They were arrested for molesting children at the same school. They were teachers. If guilty they will no doubt be found guilty and serve very unpleasant terms in jail. We are all in agreement and happy with that result. The school; however, has decided to put ALL of the staff of the school, all 150 on a paid leave while they investigate if any of the others is guilty.

Many will say that this is fine, no hurt, no fowl. The other teachers are given some paid time off, the children are safe and they school and police can do a thorough and fair investigation. WRONG, what happened to innocent until proven guilty? What does it mean when you suspend staff that haven't been accused of anything? Why couldn't less offensive means, less expensive means and more rational means have been employed? Couldn't a few people have been hired to check on the different classrooms during the day, unannounced? If there are any more molesters in the school, do you really think that they will be very active while they know a police investigation is going on? Is there any sanity left in the world?

Instead, the school will bring in 150 people who they know NOTHING about, how is that safer for the children? The sheep want draconian and easy answers and the predators provide them with them. The problem with the world and how it is run is extremism, that is what causes war. I think this is turning into a rant.

This is basic algebra, some pedophiles are priests and teachers and therapists and you name it. That does not mean that all priests, teachers or therapists are child molesters. This approach hurts the children, it teaches them that they cannot trust their teachers, their priests or their therapists. Do you get it? Extreme examples are over-publicized to scare people into making bad decisions that result in their children trusting nobody and not listening to anybody.

Some of the people who read this blog know me personally and what I am about to say will make them sad. When I was 8, I was molested. I didn't talk about it until I was in my 40s and I told my then wife. It only happened once and was someone I didn't know. I would not have told anyone, I got over it, I learned to mentally deal with it decades ago and decided that I didn't need to talk about it. When Roger Moore wrote about his experience (hey, he was James Bond), I was able to tell my wife and then I put it back to bed. Little could I know that eventually I would also have to get over my wife's infidelity; but, I did that too.

Here is the point. Some relationships are toxic. Some experiences are bad. We cannot create a world where there is no risk unless we eliminate all freedom and monitor everyone non-stop and guess what, then all of the decisions are in the hands of the few and they can do even greater damage. The issue is a question of balancing risk versus trust. There is always risk; but, what happens when there is no trust? How much can you grow if there is no trust and no risk, what lessons can be learned?

If we allow our emotions to control us then those who control our emotions make our decisions. This is the point of the bible. We should do everything in love; but, to know what to do, what the options are requires thought, emotion won't get you there alone. The two least rational emotions are rage and love, of the two I prefer love. Which do you prefer?

I cannot live without anger and I cannot live without love. They are emotions within me, the question is which I allow to be my final determining factor in my decisions. That is the message of Jesus in essence. Will you take the risk of love or take the supposed certainty of hate? You might get hurt on this ride, life might deal you some bad cards; but, there are no good cards if there is no risk.

Someone, a relative, told me something when I told him that my wife had cheated on me. He said that there were some lessons you wish you never had to learn, he had been cheated on. He also told me that he never gave 100% of his heart again, I have heard that from many people. I made the decision, for myself, that I would make sure that I was able to give 100% of my heart if I chose to be with someone again. I play Texas No=Limit Holdem, you are all in or all out or you can never win.

Since my divorce I have not found anyone who wants to give me a 100% of their trust, nor have I found someone that I can give 100% of my trust to. I have met and been on dates with many wonderful women; but, not the one. If I decide that true love is impossible, for how much less should I settle. If I never trust anyone at all, it will be fairly shallow relationships for me. Bed and breakfast at best. Would any of my dear readers wish that for me or themselves?

Teach children to be strong, to overcome and not to ever think that they will live a life with no challenges. They could be molested, they could break an arm, they could get beat up or they could die in a car accident. Many things could happen to them. We can monitor them 24/7 in the classroom, we can make them wear safety suits all day, we can give them a body guard, we can build cars that drive themselves, we can give them pills that make them as smart as anyone else, we can give them no autonomy, no decision making, we can control them like prisoners is a guilded cage, a virtual reality where they never learn real pain. Would you do that to your children?

When a baby is a baby you allow it very limited freedom, it may even sleep in your bed or a bassinet next to your bed. Would you put a 20 year old in the same bassinet? Growing up we were told that there were some crazy hippies who reportedly were putting razor blades in apples and giving them out at Halloween. Guess what, it didn't happen. In response, parents stopped allowing kids to go for trick or treat without them, parents had to inspect each peace of candy we received, we were told to fear our neighbors and eventually Halloween became more important for adults than for kids.

It used to be that Halloween was the one day of the year when kids could go out at night, getting candy, seeing all their friends in their costumes and just enjoy their first taste of freedom from supervision, the freedom to express what they wanted to become and nothing was too scary. That is gone. People are sheep and they being terrorized by the media, it warps the mind of the sheep; but, they will not listen to reason because they are sheep. Most horrible economic situations end is totalitarianism because the sheep like safety and do not understand doing the right thing for the right reason.

Ramblings from a madman, someone who thinks that the sheep are sheep and that it is okay; but, they need to do their role. All have a role. Peace.

On Being and Bad Science

It is a little later than I had planned; but, once again my sermon ran long. I don't like to stop in the middle of a thought and that meant that I got home late. Before I left for church I had read some news articles and this one in particular caught my attention. Oh, for those who are wondering, yes, I mostly have my voice back, it is still weak; but, mostly functional and I spoke very little all weekend in order that I might be ready for my sermon tonight.

Anyways, here is th article. CNN - Ted Network - Unraveling the mystery of consciousness

In the article it says, "On the side of understanding, we can point to the process of sensory representation as an important part of consciousness. Most of what we are conscious of (conceivably all that we are conscious of) consists of representations of objects and events in the sensory modalities in which our brains trade, for example, vision, hearing, touching, smelling, taste, sensing the state of our body's interior." I want you to think about that, is it true? I would disagree with his premise because it does not fit the facts that we know. If you would like an example, I will give two. First we have Helen Keller, born deaf, dumb and blind, yet AFTER she learned language she was able to tell the rest of us what it was like to be purely emotion. The second one is achieved by using an isolation tank, that is a tank with a saline solution that allows you to float, within the tank you are denied all sight, sound and feeling. They refer to this as sensory deprivation. Anyone placed within one of these tanks will begin hallucinating within minutes and the hallucinations are vivid. We are sensory beings by nature.

The writer continues on and comes to an amusing backwards conclusion. He finally says, "I believe to be conscious of our perceptions is to have ongoing representations of streams of events that affect our bodies, cause feelings, and become felt representations." His premise is that because we have bodies we are capable of having experiences, that our minds "map" there experiences (we organize them via thoughts) and that it results in an emotional response. He is wrong. We have emotions, we organize them with symbols or language and that is how we control our actions. He has it backwards, now the question is why? What is the premise that he is operating under?

So, if the most basic part of our consciousness is emotions, why does he assume that the most basic part of us is thought (symbolism to describe emotions)? Why make that assumption? The answer is because he hates the consequence of the opposite? His most basic assumption is that we are merely a mechanical response to stimuli. He does not believe in a soul and individuality, a true self. He believes that there is no self will. He does not find us unique merely consequences. His philosophy is garbage and his science is worse.

For all their efforts they cannot understand how we can have emotions prior to learning how to organize thoughts, they see thoughts as creating emotions rather than emotions having been the reason that we needed to create thoughts. I do hope you understand that it is a question of which came first and that the writer has given the least likely answer because of his bias. You matter, we all matter and only evil people would try and convince you that you do not matter, that life is not important because once they do that they then begin determining which lives are more meaningful. I Have Lost My Voice - No Applause Please

Well dear readers, I have lost my voice quite literally. I thought it was just my allergies; but, it turns out that I was in fact sick and it finally took out my voice. To make matters worse, I had to talk to an auditor for three hours and it only made my voice weaker.

On a lighter note, I logged into blogger and found someone had wanted to post a comment. They commented on my post about Stephen Hawking being a douche and said that people like me were a cancer. I posted the comment. In all the time that the post has been up and the hundreds of people that came here to read it, this is the first negative response to it and it was so poorly organized.

One of the people who actually did come up with the idea of string theory was Dr. Michio Kaku who in fact I do respect; but, I have no idea what his religious beliefs are and actually don't care. Dr. Kaku sticks to science and doesn't appear to use it to prove some agenda and that is what science is for. Hawking however I find wants to be the final word on everything and if he says it others are not to question him.

We live in a world ruled by experts and most of them will sell out for money or fame. It was scientists who were paid by the tobacco lobby that denied that cigarettes could harm you (I smoke and I know they can) and then other scientists who lied about second hand smoke being more dangerous than first hand smoke (that doesn't even make sense and was based on tests of children whose mothers smoked while they were pregnant rather than true second hand smoke). We have all read how statistics were intentionally perverted to prove "global warming". Bad science is bad science and I don't care if it helps someone's argument.

You see, without a belief in God we become meaningless to each other because life becomes meaningless and that is what people are being sold on. Religious Hypotheticals and Questions

I like to read the bible and try and look at it different ways. When I read a story, such as the story of Job, I try and think about what happened after or ask questions like, "Why him". Revelations and Genesis leave so much out and allow for so many possibilities.

I recently decided to do a series on Revelations at church, now it is one of my least favorite books of the bible because of the heavy use of symbolism. Revelations predicts many things; but, it really doesn't explain how these things could be allowed to come. Let me put it this way, Revelations says that in the end times everyone would be required to take a mark to buy or sell. Okay, how could you convince people to take such a mark? Most people assume they would be forced to; but, the book says that some will refuse to take the mark so it is willingly accepted.

Revelations also says that people will worship the beast. How do you get people to worship you? I know it says that he will perform miracles; but, how would you convince a Muslim that it was Allah and a Christian that it was Jesus and do both at the same time?

We currently have technology that is capable of creating a one world currency and we have the ability of placing biometric identification invisible to the eye on your body. This is the first time in human history where we have even been capable of doing these things.

Not long ago I was talking to someone about the steps that have been taken that would allow tyranny in the United States, I mentioned all the laws that had been passed and came to the conclusion that no more were needed, I am sure we will get more (probably related to confiscating the possessions of "terrorists". Still, if a popular fascist got into office, all the laws are in place to be so.

Okay, so I was thinking about the bible and came to the same conclusion. I cannot find one pre-tribulation sign that has not already happened. The bible has gone to every part of the world, we are seeing a great falling away from the church and an international consensus that we need a world organization to control our financial institutions. What is left? Whether you believe in end times or not, if you know your bible, the infrastructure that would allow the events predicted in Revelations are in place, nothing more needs to happen to allow it to begin, nothing.

If you are a Christian, how do you feel and what do you think about what I just wrote? If you are a non-Christian, you can ask yourself the same question. It says that in the end times there will be many false prophets, how many do we need, I see no shortage of them. Heck, many of them are within the churches.

Lets see, end the Federal Reserve and go to direct democracy to regain your freedom and economies. The big cookie in exchange for direct democracy, hmmmm, sounds like selling out to me. Pay your debts, get rid of the crooks, don't vote your pocketbook, vote for integrity and the answers will come.

I used to tell my ex, if it is free, I don't want it, if I want it, I will pay for it. I do not wish to be controlled by the cookies and lose my soul, I would rather lose the cookies and keep my self determination being based on more that a punishment reward system, I wish my choices to be determine by my self-definition. Hawaii and More Loss of Privacy

I have been to Hawaii twice, loved it. I have been to Oahu and the big island, I even walked over the cold lava to watch the hot lava go through the tunnels and into the sea, it is one of the most impressive things I have ever seen. I have a deep appreciation for the Polynesians and have since I was very young, unfortunately, we stole their islands from them.

So this article is not about Hawaii or it's people, it is a disturbing article about how the people of that state may lose their privacy. Some legislators in Hawaii are promoting legislation that would require internet providers to track every site that they visit and save the information for two years. Please go back and read what I have been writing about for three years (though I think only two years of my blog still exist because I deleted the first two versions of this blog) and you will see this is exactly what I said would occur. Your internet history is going to be part of your permanent record. Here is the article.

FEMA, LAX and Alex Jones

Okay, I have to start by explaining some things. A lot of things are hidden from us, our government has been hijacked by business interests and the government expects something bad to happen this year or fairly soon. I don't like to discuss the last part much because it tends to scare people. Having said all of what I have, I want to link to Alex Jones' website because of a two part video that he has.

I want to talk a bit about Mr. Jones. I am not convinced that he has things correctly and believe he feeds off of hysteria. As anyone who regularly reads this knows, I read a lot of news sources and don't automatically accept the official story. I also don't assume the worst. I am fairly sure that I have not discussed FEMA before or if I did it was in passing. FEMA did a horrible job in New Orleans and the continuity of government executive directives are draconian. That does not mean that I believe what many seem to believe and what Mr. Jones believes. I am not in any way convinced that the government wants to arrest and indefinitely detain all who protest.

There are many videos out there are articles about how people believe the country is being taken over and that we are all going to be made slaves. There are those who fear that the powers that be want to kill 90% of us through famine, war and vaccinations. I am far from convinced. I am convinced that the government believes that we could have massive solar flares that take out the power grid this year or early next. That has been reported by NASA and the physicist Dr. Michio Kaku. I also believe that we will see a collapse of the world currencies.

If either the power grid is destroyed or the currencies collapse or both happen, then a lot of bad consequences occur. One merely needs to pull up my posts on both of these things to see that they are very real possibilities and I provide links to reliable sources. A currency collapse could lead to massive civil unrest and could even lead to people picking up arms. A massive solar flare and loss of the power grid could take years to fix and leave us with famine and all sorts of transportation problems. Personally I think the loss of the power grid concerns me more than a currency collapse.

I know this is a lot of discussion; but, I don't want people to watch the video and think that Mr. Jones' conclusion is correct, I am much more interested in the infrastructure that was photographed and what it might mean. I absolutely do not believe that we are going to become like communist Russia. I think history shows that if our economy breaks down we are much more likely to become fascist; but, I don't see sufficient support for either currently.

Alex Jones - FEMA Camp Rendition Hubs Discovered

If you wish you can go to 11:17 of the first video to see just the LAX infrastructure that was built. Now, I know LAX and that sure looked like holding areas for large amounts of people. I am also aware of the fact that FEMA's job is to make sure that it can take care of large numbers of people and detain them if necessary. Coupled with the NDAA and the Expatriate Act, there would be no need for a judge to agree. I have read the Executive Directives regarding continuity of government and they are Draconian and un-constitutional; but, unlike Mr. Jones, I believe if anyone attempted to kill millions of us or enforce a totalitarian state on us (rather than us choosing one), I believe the military would take over and stop it.

It is true that KBR, a former subsidiary of Halliburton has been funded to erect FEMA centers, it is also true that they and the military are seeking to hire detention specialists. That may be creepy; but, it is FEMA's job to prepare for such things and if I were afraid the power grid might go out or I was afraid of a currency collapse, that is exactly what I would pay them to do, prepare. Hopefully the power grid will not be lost; but, what if it is, how should the government respond?

Let me put it this way, if the power grid goes out you will have no lights, no electricity and the same thing that causes them to go out will mean that your car, phone and internet will not work. How would you get the nation back up after that, it could take five years. Our military would still work because we have been shielding our planes and ships in case of Electro-magnetic pulses because nuclear explosions can cause them.

I do hope this isn't creeping any of my readers out, I was taught to contingency plan and that is what I do and what I expect the people in FEMA and the military to do. Do I believe that the economic collapse was intentional, yes, it was done out of greed. Do I believe the people in power look down on us, yes; but, not all. Would some like to see population reductions, yes, they openly say so and give their reasons; but, they are also specific about the methods they believe in it. I disagree; but, that doesn't mean that I think they are all sociopaths, just narcissists.

While what Mr. Jones and Mr. David Icke discuss to a degree, these laws are in place and so is the infrastructure, their assumptions for the reasons behind these things may be very misplaced. Hey if I am wrong I would probably be one of the first to be taken in, I already know I am on a watch list of some sort, I knew that because the FBI denied I was in any files and that is ridiculous seeing as how most of my family has a FBI file (because of security clearances) and I was offered a commission in the military. You don't get offered a commission if your background hasn't been checked, it just didn't work that way. I assume it still doesn't.

My concern over the recent laws like the NDAA is not that someone is planning to use them now, it is that they could be used improperly in the future if we did vote for a totalitarian leader.

So, lets say that the power grid goes down, how would we best handle the situation? Well, I would remove our leaders and planners and put them together in a safe place, traditionally the plan has been to put them in underground bunkers (cold war standard plan for nuclear war). Last year Americans bought more guns than in our history, that is a bad sign. If the government told them that they know the power grid is going to go out year, what would you expect people to do? I think that some would prepare to take what they wanted when preparing to rebuild would in fact be the best choice.

You may ask why what I think is being prepared for is more likely than what Mr. Jones or Mr. Icke think is going on and it is a fair question. There are way too many old cold warriors and current and retired intelligence officers to pull off a government takeover without being discovered and reported. While I long ago decided I did not wish to be involved in such work, I also knew some of these people and believe me, you don't want to mess with them. There is an old poem that says, "And the gobblegins will get you if you don't watch out".

There was a movie called "Deep Impact" about a meteor hitting the earth and killing untold numbers. In the movie certain people were identified to be protected and taken into underground bunkers so that we would have a continuity of humanity. That is standard planning for overwhelming events. Who would you want to survive one of these catastrophes, you would want the people who had the skills, knowledge, abilities and experience to rebuild correctly and quickly. Why, because that makes the most sense from a societal standpoint.

Now here is another question, what about all these people buying guns and preparing for the end of the world, what would you expect them to do if the power grid went down? They bought the guns for a reason. Does this all sound rather scary, well it should and it could be, that is what we pay people to make contingency plans for; but, it doesn't mean it is going to happen. The currency collapse will happen; but, Germany and Mexico and other countries have survived hyperinflation without losing all control, they continued. The solar flares, while a very real possibility, may miss us.

You might wonder what my emergency preparedness plan is, mine is to trust in God and make sure that I have food for my dog. My emergency plan for an earthquake is a credit card and a trip to Vegas. Preparations for something are being made, that is easy enough to see. Animals are dying off in strange ways, odd noises in the air and increased solar flare activity is occurring. Volcanoes and earthquakes are happening more frequently, pretty scary stuff. One meteorologist made a video saying that she believed that it was all due to the diminished magnetic field around the earth and the increased solar activity. If she is correct than a major flare could cause major earthquakes and eruptions.

So, why did I finally choose to write this post. Well, I don't want people getting agitated about what is going on and coming to the wrong conclusions. I want people to support the Constitution regardless of any threats we may face and I want to see the government be responsive to the people. I also want to see the people with power have to follow the same rules as the rest of us and they don't; but, I also believe in restraint and faith.

Personally, I am very much a Christian and don't believe the world will end this year. I don't know the time and the day; but, I do believe we know what will happen first and it hasn't happened. If I wasn't a Christian, I still wouldn't believe that the world will end this year. Having said that, I do believe this year will be very challenging for many and I also believe that we will survive it. Peace.

The Earth as a Living Organism

More garbage from what used to be science. I won't bother posting a link to anything, I will just discuss it. There is a scientist who has published a paper claiming that the earth is a living organism. This is not the first time this silliness has been proposed. There were a number of people who believed in the "Gaia" idea and it would satisfy many "environmentalists" who want to give the earth the right to sue people when we damage it.

The earth is not a living being, it has living beings on it; but, it is not a living being itself. It is not science to claim that it is, it is probably just an attempt to get UN funding. Where has intellectual integrity gone? The news is nothing but spin and science says whatever it is paid to say.

In order for people to accept the horrid way in which the world works and where it is going people have to come to believe certain things. Lets look at this for a moment.

Lets look at where many people think they want to go. The above article lays it out; but, I am only interested in a couple of them items for the moment. First - Direct Democracy. Second - Don't let corporations be treated as people. Third - Protect the Earth. Fourth - Everyone has the right to a living wage job. The article mentions others; but, I chose these because they sound good and are not in the application.

Direct Democracy, I have written about that previously. You cannot have meaningful laws under direct democracy, only vague ones that the people enforcing will determine what was really meant.

Treating corporations as people. One of my professors once said that the creation of the corporation as a legal entity was one of the greatest things ever done. He pointed out that it allowed for large projects to be jointly funded and made people willing to invest in such endeavors. Putting an end to this legal fiction will mean that there will be no competition because new large organizations will be incapable of emerging.

Protecting the earth, well, after all it is a person, lol. This is the idea that the earth matters and you do not. Garbage.

Finally, everyone having a right to a living wage job. They told the Jews that in Nazi Germany, "Work is Freedom". Be careful when something is called a right and it becomes a requirement. If everyone has a right to a job, what happens to the people who don't exercise that right? Do we force them to work? That will be the answer and that is true slavery.

Tired Too Much

I am definitely not 20 anymore. When my sleep routine gets upset I end up by overcompensating and sleeping for 16 hours or more. I guess I am getting old, lol. Oh well. Buy and large I haven't minded aging, actually I have sort of enjoyed it. I would have to say that I am probably the happiest that I have been in my life, at least the most at peace.

I did manage to read some news today, not as much as usual; but, the big media outlets. There was a video article about Joan Rivers getting another face lift and her daughter trying to stop her. I would hate to feel that way about myself. I may no longer be the youthful gymnast; but, I am not trying to be 18 again.

When people get divorced the first thing they often do is begin working on their looks. I didn't do that and never considered it. I look the same now as then except four years older. I don't want to worry about how I look or be afraid that I can't find a woman who could accept me for who I am and the fact is that I have found that most accept me for exactly who I am. And I am still on the fence about whether or not I will date this year; but, if I do, it is me they are going to get.

Totally off subject, for anyone who cared, my dog's eye is getting much better. He did figure out how to remove his cone of shame in less than a day; but, he is a determined little rat to say the least and we put it back on with packing tape. It will come off when the inflammation is gone and he doesn't try and scratch it anymore.

Rambling post and I am going back to bed, who needs to be awake more than 6 hours a day. LOL. Apparently I don't. Peace.

The Federal Reserve and Useless News Sources

The Federal Reserve is not real popular right now. Many people have finally come to understand that it is NOT part of the government and that it is really nothing more than a superbank that sets the rules for other banks. People have also come to realize that we owe it trillions of dollars. Ron Paul has called for the elimination of the Federal Reserve as have the Tea Party people and the Occupy Wall Street people. And now I see this on Yahoo.

The article and accompanying video pretty much go into explaining how the U.S. Treasury prints the money. It does, for 3 cents per bill regardless of the amount. What the article pretty much dances around is the fact that the Federal Reserve determines how much needs to be printed. It is important to remember that for every dollar printed, the value of 9 more is allowed to be loaned, pre-debt if you will. The Federal Reserve therefore controls 9/10ths of what can be loaned. It doesn't matter who prints the money, what matters is who controls the supply and the Federal Reserve controls the supply. The article is misleading at a minimum as it skirts the real issues, so why did he write the article in the first place, clearly it wasn't to help people to understand how money works.

Now, I want you to consider this possibility. All of the "currencies" crash, become worthless, hyperinflation that we cannot print the bills fast enough to deal with. What if the international reaction was to go to all electronic currencies that were pegged to the total mineral, labor and infrastructure wealth of a nation. You would need an international organization to set what the valuation was at. Hmmm, where could we find such an organization, perhaps the International Monetary Fund or the World Bank. Just some thoughts.

Okay, if either the IMF or World Bank set the rates then they would be just like a world central bank. I do hope someone finds this interesting enough to continue reading. Now, here is an even better question, how can you have a world where all money is electronic if you don't have it internationally based. By the way, the cookie you get for accepting such a deal is the elimination of all debt. Hyperinflation has a way of doing that.

We are headed to all electronic currencies and people should understand how they will work and what it all means. People will be ecstatic when all the debt is erased; but, that is nothing compared to the freedom that will be lost when there is no more hard, physical currency. Lets say that we have an all electronic currency (and if you want to investigate one that is being tried just search "bitcoin"), now lets say that you have your citizenship revoked (I previously posted on how this can happen under the laws passed this year), what happens when they turn off your electric money, how do you survive?

All electronic money means total control over buying and selling and for many, survival. I know, it sounds crazy; but, go back and read the other things that I said would happen and test my track record, it is pretty good. We have entered the Twilight Zone and the people look around and nothing makes sense because they don't understand how to read the game and I assure you, it is all a game. Sheep get led and the minute the sheep think they know what is going on is when they have been completely fooled.

When they eliminate physical currency, they will also make it very difficult to have a black market or sell illegal items. It will take the money out of the hands of the criminals and that will make many people happy. Eliminate the national debt and stop crime in one easy step. That would increase the value of money that you did have. Consider this, hyperinflation could result in the opposite for those who earn their money. A big cookie to lead people to less freedom. My dog scratched his eyelid or it got irritated from something, in either case we kept an eye on it over the weekend. When I woke up this morning I checked it and it had gotten worse so I took him to the vet. They checked his temperature, he didn't like that much and gave him some medicine and then placed him in the cone of shame. I am including a picture.

Anyways, he was given some pills and lotions and steroids. Yes, the little dog you see in the picture is now on steroids. Perhaps he will become a body builder or governor. So, after some additional stops we finally got him home and he detests his dome of shame. He is spending the rest of the day bumping into things and giving me the evil eye. He doesn't understand what is going on.

I haven't had a chance to read the news or really do anything else; but, I will read the news and see if there is anything worth discussing. Peace.

It is Monday and my dog is ill. I am taking my dog to the vet, I don't think it is anything really bad, he hurt his eyelid somehow and just needs some antibiotics and a doggie halo so that he wont rub it, at least that is what I think is needed. The vet wont be open for a couple of hours so I have a moment to write.

My dog, dogs in general, sure love us. I have had cats and had cats I liked; but, there is nothing quite like a dog. I will not become some crazy cat lady; but, I could become the guy that never leaves his dogs side or vice versa. I have had many dogs in my life and loved them; but, I have never had a dog that loved me as much as my current dog, I am the center of his universe. Funny how we can be the center of another animals universe and it only happens with dogs and people.

Anyways, I am sure my dog will be fine after we see the vet and in the meantime I wish you and yours well. Peace.

Three Parents Genetically

Our good friends at "Lets Play God" have found a new game to play. Using the genetic makeup of three people (two women and one man) to create a baby. Eventually we will be able to totally select a persons genetic makeup, this could get expensive. What if we could take your personality, the intelligence of Einstein, the beauty of Natalie Portman (I personally would think Natalie Wood), the strength of Mike Tyson and whatever other traits you wanted and design your child, would you do it? My guess is that my readers would not; but, would others? What does this type of science lead to, it will only be successful if it has an economic return and obviously there are those who believe their efforts will make them money.

This bill currently before congress would give the government the right to revoke a nationals citizenship. In other words, they can take away your citizenship even if you were born here to two parents who were citizens and also born here. This is unconstitutional, plain and simple; but, lets consider what it might mean.

What happens if you lose your citizenship and do not hold citizenship in another country, what rights do you have at that point? Well, obviously you don't get to vote and perhaps you wouldn't even have a right to work. It also means that you would not be entitled to your constitutional rights. Basically, you would have all the rights of an illegal alien. Maybe people should have thought a lot harder about which rights illegal aliens should have.

How does one take away another's "inalienable" rights? How does that become constitutional? You matter, no matter what they say, no matter what the law, you matter and I matter. The moment your government says you don't matter, it doesn't deserve your respect. Peace.

Medical Madness and Your Rights

The authors argue that it would be okay to force people to participate in clinical trials of vaccines and we are not talking about soldiers or felons. They also make the claim that paying people as an incentive is wrong because the trials fall on the poor. If you read my last post you might begin to see where all of this is going.

What will the price tag be to receive medical treatment in the future in the United States, what rights will you have to give up? Perhaps you will need to donate your organs to science, perhaps you will need to participate in vaccine trials or even be required to be vaccinated before receiving treatment. This could go down in a lot of different ways; but, they all come down to you as an individual ceasing to be important.

A couple of years ago the Federal government began requiring doctors and hospitals to make electronic copies of all medical records. Supposedly this was to help people bring their records with them wherever they might go. Since then we have had the federal government institute laws for "health care reform", many call this new healthcare law "Obamacare" which isn't truly accurate. Well, calling it reform isn't really accurate either. Whenever they take away something from the average person they tend to call it reform Pension reform means you get paid less when you retire.

Anyways, now that all of your health information is electronic we can do amazing things. As healthcare costs begin to fall on the federal government there will be an increasing concern over those who don't do preventative actions to stay healthy. If you choose to be obese or smoke there will no doubt be a higher charge to you for your healthcare or a reduction in the care that you get. Now here is where it gets truly invasive and your privacy goes away.

According to the article they will be able to give you a pill that monitors your taking of your medicines, your sleep, your eating habits. Three years ago I stopped taking all the pills that the doctors had placed me on. I have also refused to go and see my doctors anymore. Nice enough people; but, the pills were killing me and I had enough of them.

So two Japanese guys were stopped at the Italian border with Chiasso, Switzerland. Some reports said that the two gentlemen worked for the Japanese finance ministry. In either case, they were found with $134 billion in U.S. Treasury bonds. This happened in June of 2009; but, I just now got around to writing about it.

The United States was called in to verify if they were real and there seems to be some confusing and conflicting data on the answer. Eventually the government said that they were probably fakes, probably.

Oh, the two men, we don't know who they were and they were allowed to leave. In fact, nothing has been said what became of the two. I find that a little odd. Each bond was for about $500 million. Now, who could you possibly sell them to, anyone would verify that they were good before accepting them. The total dollar amount is staggering and there is no way to use them without them being verified first.

In 2009 two Philippine nationals were stopped with $180 billion in U.S. Treasury bonds and then in 2011 in Italy, six people were caught with $20 billion in U.S. Treasury Bonds. What is interesting about the Italian case is that the people involved are being charged with receiving stolen goods. Doesn't that mean that the bonds were real?

So what are we supposed to believe? What the heck is going on. Either all the bonds are fake, in which case you have to ask why anyone would bother faking them or the bonds are real in which case, who could possibly think to move such amounts of money? While Glen Beck mentioned the Chiasso incident on his show, it failed to get any real attention in the mainstream media.

Something Wicked This Way Comes

I think I should let my readers know something. Things are about to get worse, they are going to get a lot worse. On Friday, the 13th by the way lol, nine European countries had their credit ratings downgraded. That may not mean much to you; but, let me put it in personal terms. Imagine that your credit rating went from 750 to 650, you would have to pay higher interest rates for anything you bought on credit, same thing here.

As Europe's currencies crash and burn, it takes ours with them. Remember where I wrote about how we had approved massive "loans" of dollars in exchange for European currencies. Remember how the Federal Reserve lent Billions and Billions to European central banks. The currencies are all knotted together.

So what happens when the currencies are no longer valued? Well, a number of years ago the Mexican peso collapsed and they came out with a new peso valued at like 100 to 1 of the prior peso. In other words, they deflated the value of their old currency and paid off their debt with their new currency. Basically it is like paying off your debt at 10% of your promise. It is a form of hyperinflation that only effects foreign debt. This might sound like a good idea; but, it is meaningless when all of the currencies are interwoven.

We are going to be poorer, that is the bottom line. The United States has been globalized. So what solution will be offered, the same one that was given to Europe, we will be taxed more and given less. In Europe they call it austerity. While I agree with much of what Ron Paul believes, I disagree with austerity as proposed. There is a foolishness in this country that confuses capitalism with democracy. They are not the same.

Democracy is where the majority make laws. Aristotle believed there were only six types of government. Government run by one person for either the benefit of others or the ruler. Then you have government run by the few for the benefit of others or themselves and finally government by the majority for the benefit of the majority or all. Aristotle believed all eventually came to benefit their own group. He believed that democracy was best because it benefited the most, it at least benefited the majority.

We don't live in a democracy, the government is being run for the benefit of a few, not for the benefit of the majority. Once we get past the type of government we have you have to consider the type of economy you have. You can have a king and still have capitalism or communism or many different isms. I would like to think that we had capitalism; but, we do not. We have a highly regulated economy. Your business is regulated in many ways including the fact that you don't have the right to do business with whoever you want. Put up a sign on your restaurant that says no blacks or gays or whatever, you will get in trouble.

The truth is that the United States has ceased being capitalistic and democratic. Once you understand that, you can begin to understand what will happen after the currencies collapse. Austerity. Austerity is where the majority get less and the laws only favor a few. We call that an oligarchy, the use of government to benefit the few ruling elite.

We don't have much to look forward to in the way of politicians. We have a series of wealthy people who openly state that they are dictatorial and don't care about people who are not rich. Then we have Ron Paul who would make the poor pay for the mistakes of the wealthy. None of the candidates actually cares about how we distribute wealth equitably. They are more concerned about "capitalism" then they are with Democracy. When a nations economic system does not benefit the majority, then you have no democracy, you have an oligarchy.

The solution, there must be a solution. There is, it is a cashless society. There was an article last week about a German woman who hasn't used cash in 16 years. You won't have cash, just debt, in the end that is all cash is, a promise to give materials or labor in exchange for the materials or labor of another. That is currency, that is the dollar, that is money.

I Have the Day Off, So Some Scattered Thoughts

I was fortunate enough to be invited to the movies by two of my friends. A married couple that I happen to think very highly of. I enjoy going out on occasion and we had a find evening. We saw the new Sherlock Holmes movie and had a nice dinner. Now here is a shocker, I have never been on a double date in my life except when I was married, not when I was just dating. When I dated it was always just the two of us.

On a side note, see scattered, my dog doesn't like it when someone gives me a neck rub. Sometimes my daughter or one of my friends will put their hands on me in affection and my dog flips out. My dog is very jealous of me. He is in fact and idiot; but, I am stuck with him and I love him I guess. LOL.

I know, where is this all leading, is there a point. Yes, thank you very much, there is a point and it resides at the top of my head. I am seriously considering dating again sometime this year. I assume I will still get to go out on occasion with my friends; but, someday I will bring someone with me perhaps. How they interact with my friends will be important, how they act with my dog will be important and the same goes for how I interact with their family and friends.

I was going back and forth in my head a lot about this dating thing. I was seriously considering not dating ever again and then I think maybe I should. I was beginning to think that maybe it isn't worth the effort, the responsibility of it all. I am not 18 anymore and I fear that I am growing set in my ways. I was talking to a friend and he told me that if I don't start pretty soon then I will probably never date again. I thought about that a lot and you know what, he is probably right. I am way too comfortable being single.

There is a very pretty lady that seems to have a thing for me and I have a thing for running away from her. That is the fear side coming out. It is not that I am afraid of getting burned again, it is more about the effort that I believe one should put into a relationship. I am not a casual person and will not be looking for a casual relationship.

If I do find someone and get in a relationship, it will no doubt impact this blog. Heck, I am working all week, preaching on Saturdays soon and I write somewhere on a daily basis. Just reading the news for me takes a few hours because of all the sources that I check. I think I might have to cut back on the reading and writing if I do find someone.

I do have a tendency to analyze things don't I? I remember this cartoon that my mother gave me. The cartoon had a picture of Sherlock Holmes examining a wrapped Christmas present and Watson says something like, "Just open the darn thing and be surprised like everyone else". Just go out there and date, find an attractive and nice woman and shack up. That just doesn't fit me.

Sometimes I think what I really want is to just retire and fade away off into the distance. Become a true hermit, just me and my dog. Walk away from society and enjoy some peace and quiet. I know my friends would be disappointed in me if I did so and I still have a trick or two up my sleeve, I still have something to offer to others and we should be in service to one another.

Pimpernel vacillates, I think one thing and then I think another. Maybe it is the cold or the exhaustion; but, I know it isn't. It is me trying to figure out what I want and I still don't know. That is not quite true, I know what I want; but, I cannot have it. I cannot be with the love of my life because she is dead. Someone once said that you can never go home. You cannot turn the clock back and get a redo. Nope, you continue moving forward and picking up baggage, belongings, possessions and scars.

What would it mean to love again? What would it mean to commit to knowing a person completely again? It sounds like a lot of work if you really want to be in a relationship.

On a completely different note, my parents spent a lot of money sending me to Law School knowing that I never intended to practice law. That was pretty amazing of them, maybe they thought I might practice; but, I made it clear that I didn't intend to. I was really more interested in how the law worked because I was interested in writing laws and I have written a couple. If it were not for my parents sacrificing to send me to college and law school, I would not have been able to do the things that I have in this life and I can no longer thank them and did not thank them enough while they were alive. You cannot go home again.

I know a very wonderful lady. She is a widow, she lost the love of her life. It was hard for her to date, men felt uncomfortable thinking they were competing with a dead person. I find myself in the same situation, the love of my life is dead. How do you give all of your heart when there is a part that is forever intertwined with another? Is it fair to the other person and do you have to tell them? "Just open the package".

Is it right to have a committed relationship if you cannot commit totally. My ex cheated on me, that is not a drawback to my having a relationship with another. The love of my life died, that is a restriction, there is a part of my heart that I can never give away, is that fair to another?

Life is so funny. I am so comfortable with nothing and still as a human, I miss companionship at times; but, I already know my soulmate and she is dead. Where do I go from here, to less? Better yet, do I discover that my soulmate was not and find one that is even more of a soulmate, how could I trust that decision?

These are questions that we all address on some level, we each answer them with our truth. There is a movie called "When Harry met Sally". I seem to remember that in the movie Billy Crystal asks Meg Ryan what she would do, choose between loving or being loved, he asks which she would choose and then tells her to think about her answer. Most would say that they want to be loved; but, that means never loving completely. I think that would be hard, I have loved completely and loved and lost. I still want to love again, I would make a terrible fascist, I prefer to love and help.

What would it take for you to love someone more than you have ever loved anyone more than? Whatever is the most you have ever loved, what would it take to love someone more, what could ever be enough? Peace.

I remember four years ago talking about this coming and also saying that the internet would be filtered in the west beginning with Australia. I was told I was a "conspiracy theorist" by one person and the ex had told me previously that I had lost my once "formidable intellectual abilities". Well, I was correct about both, it just took some time for the world to catch up. The truth is, I knew it was coming because I understand what is behind what is going on in the world.

Now, let's consider the consequences again. Having an individual internet identification doesn't work on it's own. It can be used by others willingly. So, how do we verify that it is the individual using it that owns the identification. Jimmy, in the back of the class, what is your answer? Jimmy, jumping from his chair says, "I know you have to pair it with biometric requirements". That is correct, you get a star for the day.

Yes, the only way to make it work is to pair the information with biometric verification while you are using the internet. That will require a very big storage facility; but, I believe it is being built in Colorado right now. I won't bother posting to the story because I don't remember where I just read it from. Lets combine with with a cashless society and you can begin to see that it will be impossible to pay money to another for anything without the purchase be tracked and the participants being positively identified. It is all sounding like something from Revelations in the bible.

Let us do a quick recap that should make your bones chill. We are eliminating the post office which forces people to pay their bills on-line. We are experiencing a problem in our world's economy and currencies that is going to pretty much be the end of most currencies. We are seeing a the use of mobile banking and bill payment on cell phones and we are reading that currencies will be pegged to energy which constructively creates one currency and if it is electronic then you won't even understand that there is only one currency. A one world currency is coming and it will be within the next couple of years.

For the first time in our history it is possible to enact a one world currency that requires everyone to receive a mark to buy or sell. Oh, lets not forget that the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation gave hundreds of millions to buy cell phones and vaccinize everyone in the world. They are to verify the vaccination via the cell phone after the child is born.

If the government is going to require you to have a universal identification then that will mean that ever child is photographed at birth including in the United States in the near future, I bet they begin collecting every childs dna at birth too. Welcome to the end times. Peace.

Absolutely Exhausted

Hi dear readers. For the past two weeks I have been absolutely exhausted. I got a cold Friday; but, I got over it and just remained exhausted. I cannot tell you how much I have slept in the last few days; but, it far outnumbers the hours that I was awake. I don't think I have spent two hours outside of the apartment in five days and that was to get food.

Not looking for any pity, my body knows what it needs even if I don't. I like my body, it has served me well for over half a century. It is no longer youthful and that of a gymnast; but, it is not totally worn either, I would say I am in fair shape for a man my age. I think of my body as my friend. Even after the divorce it never occurred to me to get a face lift, hair plugs or liposuction. I don't even dye my hair. I don't wear contacts, I wear glasses. I am not into body modification, I like mine the way it was given to me.

I know a lot of people don't like their bodies. I don't know how you can hate your own body. I understand wanting more of it if you have a missing limb; but, not hating what remains. Most people have heard of Chaz Bono, she is the daughter of Sonny and Cher. She decided she didn't like being female so she had some surgery and some hormone treatments or so I have read. I recently read that she wanted to have surgery in Europe to give her something resembling men's genitalia. I don't know much about the surgery and don't think I wish to. When I read about it I thought, how sad it is to not like who you are down to your body.

It is not for me to judge Ms. Bono; but, if you put such a thing in public then we are free to consider it and what it means. I wonder, if she could get gene therapy that actually replaced one of her X chromosomes with a Y chromosome, would she? That would be the ultimate in body modification; but, it would be even more because we would have to wonder where the Y chromosome came from, would she now be the product of three parents?

Here is an alternative view. What if rather than giving her a Y chromosome, science was able to remove part of her X chromosome and turn it into a Y chromosome, what aspects of her would be lost in the transformation? Pretty wild stuff; but, I have been sleeping for five days straight. Peace.

A Coming Carbon Currency?

I came across this article regarding a move towards a universal "carbon currency". Originally I found someone who mentioned it on Above Top Secret, a conspiracy website, so I decided to look it up myself.

The article puts forth the proposition that the smart meters and green technology are designed around the idea of basing the value of everything on the amount of energy used. As I have previously posted there are those who want to peg all of the world currencies to a formula that looks at natural resources of a country, this is a variation on that theme.

The second thing to consider is the issue of a Value Added Tax or VAT, this is where a product is given a very small tax as it is modified and moved down the supply chain. Each step in production can be taxed based on how much energy has gone into the production of the item as it occurs. As I posted not too long ago there is already a movement in place to charge a tax on every exchange of currencies that would go to the United Nations and be used for their climate change program.

These issues are very important and are getting very little mainstream discussion. Lets just say that congress enacts a VAT and that individuals are given carbon limits on usage, what would that look like on a day to day basis. Well, firstly people would do everything they could to increase their allotment including stealing electricity from neighbors. There would be a call for more identity theft protection.

A little story, I was visiting relatives recently and I went into a store to buy some stuff. As I was leaving the store my phone rang and my debit card company wanted to verify my purchase. I had only completed the purchase literally less than a minute earlier. I found it a little creepy, I mean I had not spent that much and there was nothing unusual about the purchase. This goes to the level to which we are now monitored and it is a lot. What did I buy, I bought cigarettes and I do it all the time.

Now lets consider how this might look if you have a smart meter and are limited in the amount of energy you can use. You are at work and your kid turns on the television and you get a call asking if you authorized it, you are given the choice of turning off the television. You call your kid, tell him to go back to the books and shut off the television to save on electricity. Think that sounds crazy, people already review their kids text messages before allowing them to be sent.

The issues that we should be discussing in this election period are not being discussed at all. We should be talking about our loss of privacy and the growing control that is being placed on our lives. These issues can seem overwhelming; but, we still need to consider them. Peace.

You see prostitution is legal and Germany and has no stigma attached to it under the law.

The article talks about how Mr. Broidy was able to make his company the largest private equity firm in Israel. It discusses how his first discussions with an "anchor investor" (think of having enough money to make your firm noticeable and attract other money) was with Alan Hevesi. Mr. Hevesi was the New York State Comptroller. Mr. Hevesi was sentenced last year for taking $1 million in bribes from Mr. Broidy.

If we go back to the article title "Labor of Love" we discover that one of the people who Broidy credited with helping him in investing in Israeli businesses was Ehud Olmert. Mr Olmert the former Israeli Prime Minister has just been indicted for corruption and bribery in Israel. He is accused of taking bribes in exchange for helping people involved in land development deals.

Now you might think that I haven't shown the connection between these people enough; but, then we meet Mr. Bradley D. Simon. Mr. Simon is a former U.S. Attorney prosecutor who now specializes in white collar crime. Mr. Simon is representing Mr. Hevesi and Mr. Morris Talansky who is a businessman that is at the center of the case against Mr. Olmert. It has been said that the United States is also investigating other Americans who may have been involved in the actions of Mr. Olmert.

So, what are we looking at? We are looking at public pension funds funding a company that was the biggest private equity firm in Israel that managed to lose money and whose founder was convicted of giving bribes to politicians in New York and was also connected to an indicted former Israeli Prime Minister. We have investigations on going in both the United States and in Israel; but, what will the result be?

Here is my fear. There may come a time when we see many people go to jail for corruption involving Community Redevelopment Agencies, Public Pensions and bribery and this is international in scope. For those who dislike Israel this could be a major public relations coup. When it all comes out, it will harm the support of Americans for Israel and that is a shame. Whatever the specifics were, it is all coming out now. Let us hope that none of this was officially sanctioned.

Next year hundreds of thousands of service men and women will return home with little hope of finding jobs. No good news on the job front for any of us. I hope the coming year finds you closer to your family and friends, we can all do that. I hope this coming year finds my readers well and less focused on the material things.

This has been a difficult year for me; but, I survived it and so did you. Every year is a mixed bag; but, we can choose to overcome adversity. Let us pray that next year is a year of peace. Be well.

It is hard to describe a near death experience. Some people don't believe they are real; but, the evidence says that they are. The people who have had them never really care if anyone believes them and will usually say that it was more real than this life. Many atheists don't want to believe in near death experiences; but, they have them too.

What if tomorrow you had a near death experience? What if you fell, hit your head and died for a few minutes. During that time you find yourself having an out of body experience followed by a quick trip through a tunnel to a world of light and warmth and complete acceptance and love? Then you came back. The most common thing in the world for people who have had a near death experience is to be mad that they had to come back.

So you have your near death experience and come back to this world, then what? What do you do after? You can tell people; but, they either wont believe you or think you were delusional from what happened to you. I think most just keep it to themselves or tell very few. But it changes your life, it gives you a firm knowledge that others simply don't have and you stop worrying about dying because you know that you do not die, you just die to this life.

My doctors have told me many times that I should be dead and I should; but, I am not. My blood is more like oil than blood. My triglycerides are at just shy of 1,000, lol. My mother's were the same, genetics. The AMA says that healthy is 100, I have an extra zero on mine. Ten times good is not considered good, it is considered deadly. Now, that is not all, I have more red blood cells than normal people, a lot more. My doctor told me I was like someone who lived in the mountains of Peru. This all adds to my blood pressure being so high that when they take it, I get to go to the hospital and yet, I look good. The casual reader of this blog should know that there are people who know me that read this blog and they know that what I said is true.

On any given day at any given time, I could have a heart attack or stroke or so my doctors have told me. It will never get any better and eventually something will kill me; but, I know that it can be any second of any day. I had a relative in a similar situation, his blood was attacking his veins and he would have heart attacks and strokes, sometimes multiples in the same day. They gave him 6 months, he lasted a few years. He watched movies and cataloged things, he liked lists. He drank his beer and smoked his cigarettes. He lived his life as best as he could.

I got pretty stressed out during my divorce. My health did not improve, it got worse; but, it has gotten better over the last two years. At least I feel better. The pills they gave me were beginning to kill me so I stopped taking them three years ago. I haven't felt this good in a long time. If anyone thinks that I want their pity or fear death, you are as far the truth as you could be. I am only now beginning to enjoy life and can do so with no fear of death.

I spend my days living my life as if I will be around for awhile. My priorities are the same and I still believe the same things and work towards goals that I believe in. I could have taken a disability retirement, still can; but, I chose to keep working. I am not what I was; but, I think I still have something to offer and so do others. Might as well be of use if you can is my thought. Everyone decides for themselves how they will be of use. I think I am of use because I know what to do at my job and because I can still teach others. I teach business others teach other things. I have a video by a young man who had a near death experience and knew he was going to die and then he died. He left a message and I will let him speak for himself. If we take his word for it, he came back to leave us this message and then return to a better place.

Those who have helped me the most in this life are all dead. My parents. I helped my ex and my children more than they ever helped me. As to my friends, they can decide; but, I have helped all my friends and they were there for me. I have spent 40 years working or going to school and working for 14 hours a day, sleeping 8. That gave me 2 hours a day for myself, I have more now.

I will make a bet, I bet next year is ever worse and weirder than this year. What does it all mean? How would I know? What does it mean to you if next year is good or bad, how will you even know the difference without a decade or two to understand it? Peace.

As Christmas approaches and the year finally ends I wish to send seasons greetings to all who read this blog and even to those who do not. I have three unpublished posts over the past week and will consider finalizing them. Tomorrow, on Christmas Eve, I have said that I will do something for the family of my childhood sweetheart that passed away. After that I will celebrate the season with a nice dinner with a friend. I hope you all have a friend or family to share this time with.

This last year has seen a lot of closing doors for me. I put my old life away or it put itself away. I lost my last aunt, my childhood sweetheart and a respected and valued friend and business associate. I lost my house and most of my possessions are gone. I made new friends and have found a new place to live that suits me just fine.

I will make some predictions about the coming year. I expect my life to get better as I continue to heal from my past. I expect the world to get crazier and I expect a failure of many currencies, I expect more natural disasters and I expect that we will survive 2012. We do that, we survive as there is still more to learn.

Passings

Last week I was asked by the Pastor that I work with to speak at a funeral today as he was unable to make it. Having spoken at numerous funerals, this was okay with me. It was a Hispanic funeral, I speak practically no Spanish; but I was assured that they all did. Nope, better than half of the service was in Spanish. A friend of mine gave me rough translations.

Things went well at the service and it turned out that I did not need to speak, so I was really more there for the family. I didn't know any of them; but, had the opportunity to. A very nice family. The father had passed away and he seems to have been one of those old school Mexicans. Low paid for life, break his back and take care of his family. The words that I heard over and over being used about this man was that he was honest, hard working and patient. He was also very much in love with the Lord. The whole family love God.

I spoke to one of the grandsons, a very pleasant and mannered young man who also happens to play music. He asked me if it was okay to be in a band that was not associated with church. Of course my answer was that it was fine, just watch the lyrics. They kept referring to me as Pastor Pimpernel and I kept asking them to just call me Pimpernel. I also don't like to be called Doctor Pimpernel.

I saw a 30 something man speak about his father, I saw his sisters speak. They all respected their father and they all talked about the values that he left them and that they live. I thought of my father and mother and the values that they left me. I thought about my children and the values that I have tried to leave them and live. I told my children to not lie, cheat or steal and I do not do so.

A passing is a time to look back and look forward at the same time. Look back at what the event or person meant to you, how it effected your beliefs or actions. Look forward to what you will leave as your legacy. For me, I think I leave a pretty good legacy, I leave my children and all those whose lives I have impacted. I try to have a positive impact on a daily basis, it is for God to decide if I was successful.

This passing comes days before Christmas. While the symbology used at Christmas was originally pagan, the Christian re-interpretation is about one of birth. Birth is a new beginning; but, it is also a passing from what was. Some passing's are the result of us growing up, others are the result of us not learning and missing an opportunity to grow.

Three deaths in two months. Each effected me in a unique way and my relationship with the people was pretty wide. All the way from my childhood sweetheart to somebody I didn't know at all. I will have another passing soon and I am not sure what I think of it. Let us say that I have gone through a life and awareness experience for almost the past three years. The past six years have seen a change in every aspect of my life. Now things are stabilizing and I am acquiring a new sense of normalcy (we shall see how long that lasts, lol).

As the craziness of the past departs and as I find a new sense of calm I am now starting to be able to put some context on all of it. It began with me losing most of my family and friends, too many to count. They died and left me behind. Then I was faced with a series of health issues and finally I was faced with divorce and losing everything I spent my life working for in order to take care of my family. In the last ten months or so I began my new life, in a new city and with new friends.

While the last few years have been incredibly stressful (with the stress causing me permanent visual damage), it also had lots of exciting new things for me. I went white water rafting, I drove to Portland and met up with a bunch of people I only knew from the internet and I even began preaching. As my old life passed, I was busy forming my new life, making choices for what I would and would not pursue. I dated and then stopped, I had never thought that I would date again in my life. I found out that there are women who actually enjoy my company and who were very interesting to listen to, I enjoyed dating.

A passing is an opportunity to put old things away and pick up new things. It can be a chance to upgrade. I choose to upgrade. Most might not see it that way, they might see losing a half million dollars, your home and your possessions as a downgrade; but, it wasn't for me. As for the divorce, I did not lose anything, another chose to leave and there is nothing we can do or that we should do to deny another their free will. It is okay to attempt to discuss such matters; but, in the end we all make our choices.

Some might say that they thought I should have gone through my trials better; but, none would say that I could not have done a whole lot worse. In the end I am still standing and that is a good spot. I have grieved the past as we all should or we miss out on this very human experience that we call life. Now I will spend more time contemplating what I am creating, the next part of my journey.

Here is the thing about passings, they are just new beginnings if we let them be. We take from the past; but, some opportunities that we once had will not open up again because others have also gone through their passages. After a passing, the world is a new landscape, new choices and new beginnings; but, we take with us what we have learned on our journey and should go forth in hope. We may not be perfect; but, we can learn and make things better. Peace.

Nothing Going on in my Head

Sorry for not posting. I am officially brain dead. I have read the news; but, don't really have much to add to it. Kim June Il died. It means nothing, his son is taking over. Newt Gingrich apparently said that if he were president he would have judges who disagreed with him arrested. Is this guy insane or does he just not care? Who would vote for anyone who said such a thing?

Well, at least the year is almost over though I fear next year will be worse for most people. I recently was told that an old co-worker had moved to Wyoming to avoid what he perceived to be of the world coming apart. He isn't even a Christian as far as I know. I absolutely do not believe the world will end next year. Sorry I don't buy any of what is being pushed.

I look back at this year and say good riddance. Best part of this year was moving to my new apartment. I plan on making some change next year. I plan to pay off the last of the credit cards for one. I also am considering dating again. Personally I like petite women and they will have to be over 40 by a bit. I am very unsure of what type of person I am looking for; but, at a minimum they must be Christian. I think it is important to agree on fundamentals.

I am also thinking about retirement more. I am thinking that when I retire I might just disappear for a year or so. Just wander off and spend some time alone. I am just rambling, I have no idea what I am going to do and I don't know that it matters.

Today was utter insanity as far as the Pimpernel goes, busy, overloaded, too many people with too many needs. I read some of the news, I retain nothing. LOL. I am one burnt out old Pimpernel and you will get no valuable post from me tonight.

For those who are foolish enough to worry about me, there is never a need. Good friends and loving family are around me and I appreciate everyone of them. This old fart is still valued and my opinions are still listened too by those who value them. I am in a really great place in my head and my heart.

My life has been an odd journey to say the least. Over the past few years I have blessed by seeing how many people appreciated what I did for them and it is many. We all go through things, we all make mistakes; but, some of us learn from them and payback is the best. Not paying back harm, paying back for the help we have received along the way.

Too Many Things Going On at Once Today

I had to deal with the insurance company that the person who hit my car uses. They were really good about it; but, many calls and now I have to take my car to an adjuster, body shop and whatever else. Then I had a meeting and way too many calls from too many people. After that two hours working on church business. It was all good and it was all too much. Truth is I haven't had a chance to really read the news.

It was a kind of sweet and playful protest making fun of the restrictions placed on protesters in Australia. Then I saw this today.

When they first saw the tents being worn as clothes the police were confused and left. When they came back they took the tents off the people leaving them in just their underwear. What do you think of that? What do you think of the fact that protesters in the west are treated little better than those in Arabia? Does it make you feel proud to live in a democracy? For those who like to justify everything done by people in uniforms, if it was illegal to be in a tent and that was determined to be a tent then they should have arrested her wearing the tent, not stripped her and leave her there naked. They didn't know what to do, the cops did not have a clue as to what was the RIGHT thing to do because they stopped thinking as humans.

I don't believe in direct democracy, I believe in representative democracy that has the proper structure and not allowing the rich to have more influence on government than anyone else. I do believe we should have a system that has people in authority, it is needed in every organization; but, the people directing the use of authority and exercising it must understand right from wrong.

How did we get to a place where the Constitution is meaningless and the people we hire to protect us, instead prevent us from exercising our rights? When you saw the second video, did you take into consideration what the Occupy movement is protesting in deciding if what the cops did war right? You shouldn't, it is not about that. I would no more condone the public stripping of a Tea Partier, Republican, Democrat or Occupier. What does it matter what they are protesting, is it okay to abuse some more than others based on what they are protesting?

I spoke to an older woman today. A friend of mine introduced while we were waiting to have our church meeting. He reads this blog and he will know that I am talking about him. A very nice man and loves the Lord, he is also a big supporter of my writing and I appreciate that. Anyways, this lady was very sharp. She had learned the language of politicians and the media, she had worked for someone who understood the theater that is put before us in order to achieve a result.

She and I had never spoke before and she had never read my blog, she had no idea who or what I was. She said that she thought that what was going on in the economy was staged in order to make a worldwide economic order. She had worked for someone who was involved with legislators and knew the game, she didn't know how it was done, what she understood was that everything big is staged, especially in politics and the economy.

We get older and we don't have the energy to read 80 news sources a day anymore. We get to a point where we have seen so much that everything filters automatically and is understood in it's own language. It is a language of theater and that is how the masses are led. It was not designed to lead people, it was designed to explain what was going on and why. Diplomacy was meant to find consensus not lead the discussion, it was meant to explain and not to manipulate because at that point it becomes undemocratic.

My dear friend that used to work for me and has gone on to prove that he has no competition, I taught him how to understand the conversation. I take this blog seriously because it is my hope that others learn to read the signs. This blog was never intended to last long, I have killed the first two iterations of it and have said that I will not do so again. I originally did that because I discovered that people were interested in what happened to the good Pastor Daniels and many came here to read what I wrote about her. While that is a sufficient reason to keep the blog up, it is not a reason to keep writing about other things. I will keep writing as long as people are reading because maybe others will learn to see what I see.

I should say that they don't have to agree with my opinions or conclusions, just look at the world and what you are told in a bigger way. That is why I keep writing and reading. A lonely voice in the wilderness calling out to but a few. There are relatively few that read this blog regularly, no millions of hits a day and it was never intended to be such a thing. Just like me, it was supposed to have a shelf life. Somehow this nasty bit of writing has become more, at least for a few and that is enough.

I will throw something out there. The Iranians "captured" a US drone and they didn't shoot it down. They claim that they had over-ridden it. I have a problem with that. They also claim that they are going to back engineer and mass produce them. I have a problem with that also. It is a story, the Iranians might believe it; but, I know better, it doesn't fit. That drone would have a dead man switch and destroyed itself first. In addition, I don't see that the Iranians could have taken command of the drone when the Iraqi's did not do so when we flew them over Iraq.

It is possible that I am wrong; however, when you read the news you should stop and ask if what you are being told makes sense and not just accept it. Lost my train of thought. Peace.

L.A. Times - Vernon agreed to pay $60 million to avoid disincorporation

Lets see if little Pimpernel has any mental abilities left. Now, the LA Times has reported that the City of Vernon had agreed to gift $60 million to surrounding small cities in exchange for being allowed to remain a city. Well that in and of itself is disgusting, basically a case of blackmail and bribery; but, let us think for a moment.

The City of Vernon doesn't know where it is going to get the money. I know where they are going to get the money. They are going to sell the land in Kern that they paid $60 million for. You can read about it in my earlier posts. A friend of Mayor Villaraigosa's bought the land in Kern with money supplied by public pensions. It was land that the LADWP was going to buy for about %60 million. After CIM and the Mayor's friend bought the land it made the papers and the city couldn't justify paying twice the amount that CIM paid for it and the City of Vernon bought the land without the water rights for about $60 million.

Now if the City of Los Angeles buys it from Vernon for $60 million then LADWP gets the land to put up their wind or solar farm; but, it is still not worth $60 million without the water rights. When this lie plays out I am going to refer people back to this post. Think it won't? Well consider the politics.

Los Angeles had already considered buying the land for about $60 million so nobody in Los Angeles will care. Vernon never needed the land in the first place so nobody in Vernon will care. The surrounding cities won't care because they all get bought off with money from Vernon. People in most of the state won't care because it doesn't effect them. NOBODY CARES except little Pimpernel and that is why this type of garbage will continue. When it happens come back and read all the posts tagged "pension fraud".

Getting Crazy Out There

While the mainstream media largely ignores idiots unless they claim to belong to mainstream religions, there are a lot of crazy things out there right now and way too many people claiming to be prophets or ascended masters. I just read something by another person trying to prove that they have special knowledge given from our other worldly watchers or whatever he called them. I find it amusing that the book of Revelations says that in the end times there will be many false prophets, why would the end times be filled with false prophets? If you are in the end times then what are their prophesies? To be false their prophesies must prove false.

It is a logical conundrum; but, I think I have an answer. How can one be correct about saying that we are in the end times and incorrect at the same time? It is a riddle rather than a paradox. What if saying we were in the end times was accurate; but, that your end date was wrong made you a false prophet? If the earth is still here in 2013 then how many people that claimed the world would end next year would turn out to be false prophets? All.

My readers come from all beliefs and I have a separate site dedicated to the bible, this is more of a social and psychological post. You should also consider the logic when looking at government actions, it is an approach used to distract people. If you here a boy cry wolf enough and always turn out to be wrong then when he tells the truth nobody will listen. The best way to hide a key is to put it in a room full of keys.

My father taught me something about money. When they want to teach new Treasury agents how to spot counterfeits, they begin by teaching them how real is made, they teach them about every aspect of it from the paper to the ink to the pressings. Once you know the truth, the lies cannot long deceive you.

Now, if I were to read the old testament I would notice some things about prophets. Firstly, they usually live pretty miserably. It does not generally appear to be much fun. Secondly, they rarely have a message that others like, they usually have bad news with the hope of redemption if people change their ways. The new age prophets usually promise a great awakening, free energy and knowledge from either aliens or inter-dimensional beings. The one I read tonight basically covered all these areas.

For Christians my answer remains just about as simple. Love God with all your heart and your neighbor as yourself. That is how you are ready for your end time regardless of what brings it about. Odds are that it will be a car wreck. Whether it is the end of the world or a car wreck, for you it will not matter. Speaking of car wrecks, a television producer backed into my car while I was stopped. I love living in Los Angeles.

Last Friday I was headed to a workplace and stopped to get coffee. I got my coffee, returned to my car and was leaving. The person in front of me pulled forward and made a left and then stopped, I followed and stopped. He then backed up about 25 feet and ran right into my front drivers door. He t-boned me in reverse while I was stopped. Oh, I hit the horn to warn him; but, it didn't do any good. Sometimes you can see what is coming; but, you cannot do anything about it. Maybe it is the same with the end of the world and maybe that is why we shouldn't know the time and the day.

If I had known that someone would have hit my car, I would not have gotten coffee there, I would have gotten it some place else. If I knew in advance what was going to happen then it would impact my free will. Prophets of God give up a part of their free will because they do as they are told, they do it for the love of others; but, they still do give up some degree of free will. I like my free will and I don't need to know exactly when my life will end.

As for the end of the world, I don't know the day or the hour. Will it come, yep. The dinosaurs all died and other planets have died. Ours will too. The material world is but a transient being, nothing material lasts forever. Peace and be well.

Felt Pretty Weak for a Moment

I will try and finish this post; but, for no apparent reason I had an eye ache that led to a headache that led to me being nauseous. I felt fine all day and it hit me when I took a relative to dinner. I had to bring my dinner home and end the night early. I am feeling a little better now, just one of those things and as a result my writing may not be up to snuff.

I may just be some random blogger; but, I really take pride in knowing that people that read my blog will come away being aware of things that most people are not. I am blessed with having the time to read numerous news articles on a daily basis and pull out the one or two things that I think are the most important and might otherwise be overlooked. It is sort of like being the secretary who goes through and summarizes the news for her boss. I know secretaries can be men, mine was.

I was reading about the UN conference in South Africa that is going on. They want to declare the earth a person, I think I wrote about that over a year ago. They are also demanding an end to war because of the carbon emissions. That my dearest readers is true insanity. It means that carbon emissions are more important that human beings. Any person with any sense would like to see and end to war because of the impact to people.

Oh, they are also calling for the creation of a world court to prosecute people and nations for their impact on the environment. In other worlds a court that supersedes the courts of your country. I had stopped writing and was reading the papers and I just found an article saying that they passed the resolution.

Associated Press - Climate conference approves landmark deal

What was the top news story of the night, the Presidential debates and it is reported just like it mattered. I mean, just like a baseball game. Who's on first, What's on second, I don't know, third base. Just like the old comedy sketch.

The other story that is getting some play in limited release is the fact that the congress passed a bill that allows Americans to be detained without trial by the military in the United States. Doesn't this all sound more and more like a bad fiction novel? I mean really, first the Patriot Act, all these give away schemes by the Federal Reserve to the tune of trillions and now this nonsense. When were we taught that you didn't have a Constitutional right to a trial by your peers?

I forgot something, tens of thousands of protesters were in Russia calling for Putin to leave. As bad as the United States police have become, the ones in Russia are even worse. The Russians believe their elections were rigged and according to a former Soviet President, he thinks so too.

I forgot something else, a government contractor is seeking companies to work with it to provide medicine, food and other items should it need them to house untold numbers of American in camps. Huh? Now, I don't care what is anticipated, natural disaster because of solar flares, riots because of the collapse of the economy or some pandemic. It really does not matter to me; but, it is pretty obvious that our government is preparing for something.

Sorry, had to step away mentally for a minute. I just read that there were three earthquakes in Mexico in the last day that exceeded 6 on the Richter scale. That is a lot, we should all pray for them. One of the nice things about living in the Los
Angeles area is that we made building codes that forced people to build with earthquakes in mind. We are not immune from earthquakes; but, have buildings that anticipate them. That is a good analogy for how we should live our lives.

The Mayor and a Letter

There is a letter circulating from Mayor Villaraigosa regarding the recent payment of $1.2 million to the ex-head of the Housing Authority. On Tuesday the L.A. Times reported that the Mayor said that he was unaware of the payment. While I may have personal doubts about that, the letter that people are now saying proves the Mayor lied was written yesterday. Now, obviously he knew about it by Thursday; therefore, the letter does not prove the Mayor knew in advance nor what he may or may not have known.

There is a blogger that I usually like named Ron Kaye and I recommend people read his writings; however, in this case I think he went to far in calling the Mayor a liar without more proof then he offered. Mr. Kaye was an editor of the L.A. Daily News and his words could certainly influence other people's opinions; therefore, I think a little more restraint is needed.

I want to talk for a minute about writing on the internet. Those who read my ramblings know a couple of things. Firstly, I attribute my sources and give links to the original articles. I do that so that people can make a decision for themselves. Secondly, I do not claim to be a reporter (and recently an internet blogger was sued and lost when she libeled someone without proof), I write my "opinions" and discuss my take on things.

The internet is a wonderful place to express ideas and exchange information; but, there is also a need to take some responsibility and give other people their due respect. I don't like the President and I didn't like the last two presidents; but, if you read my posts where I mention him I refer to him as either the President or Mr. Obama or President Obama. I do that because he deserves to be treated as such even by a lowly blogger like me.

When I was going through my divorce and afterwards I was very angry with my ex-wife; but, I have never given her name or my name on this blog. I haven't done it because it would be wrong. The readers either know me in person and what occurred or they have no idea of who she and I are. When I hear about people creating websites or posting on their blog about their ex and giving their name or address or other personal information I am in complete disagreement with them.

If blogs and twitter and facebook are going to continue being meaningful, people need to restrain themselves from using street talk insults and making accusations without firm facts to back them up. In my discussions about the pension problems I have made sure that numerous sources were quoted and have questioned many people's actions; but, I differentiate between proven allegations and speculation. Just because I believe someone is a crook does not mean that I should say that they are.

Across the nation we were told how the Occupy movement cost $13 million in city costs. In Los Angeles we were told it might go as high as a million of a couple hundred thousand. We were told how the taxpayers were angry at the Occupiers. Here is something to be even more angry about.

LA Times - Villaraigosa didn't know about agency chief's payout, aide says

The man who headed the Housing Authority was fired and there were many complaints about money that he spent on travel. The punishment was that he was just awarded $1.2 million for leaving. That is more than what was spent on months of the Occupy LA movement to someone that just got fired and this goes on all the time for the people who are political appointees.

One might also consider the case of the rise in the costs of electricity and water at the LADWP that will result in Los Angelenos paying hundreds of millions in additional costs during a recession. These are the things that the Occupy movement were complaining about and that is why they had to be removed.

L.A. Daily News - Board backs `desperately needed' water-rate increase

Why didn't anyone tell the ex-head of the housing authority to stop whining, take a bath and get a job? Why didn't the media compare the two events? Nope, they come out and report that the Mayor was out of town and didn't know. Do you really believe that?

We don't need to agree on the solutions to the problems in government; but, we better begin agreeing on what the problems are in the government and in business and banking or nothing is going to get better. Don't call people whiners or lazy when they speak up because there is no work. Both the Tea Party and the Occupiers know what we all know, the system is rigged so that the insiders win and the rest of us get taken advantage of. It is not government employees that write the laws, it is lobbyists and your politicians, not bureaucrats, politicians and lobbyist direct the laws.

Maybe some people still don't get it. Forbes - Wiping Out Millions of Jobs is the Whole Darn Point

In short the writer for the magazine by and for millionaires asks why we should have more jobs than we need. He completely forgets about people because he doesn't care. A quote from the article, "For this is what we're actually hoping to do: destroy millions of jobs and thus get retailing done with less resources, with the use of less labour."

A couple of questions for the author Tim Worstall. Firstly, who is the "we" that you refer to that actually hope to eliminate jobs? Secondly, why do you think we created commerce and business, to give money to a few or to find productive ways to spend our time to benefit society? You are a douche bag sir. You also completely ignore why we automated, it was not to leave millions unemployed the claim was that it would give people more free time in order to pursue intellectual and spiritual purpose. Tough to do that when you are living on the street and hungry. Finally, you forget a very important lesson in history, it is about when civilizations fail. It occurs when they are the most efficient because there is no room for error and everyone eventually makes one.

According to Mr. Worstall, I find it ironic that Polly Toynbee called you a pendant. I would love to know if she was related to the great historian, Arnold Toynbee. He would disagree with you. So, what does Mr. Worstall think we should do with the excess labor, he doesn't outline how they should be treated or what they should be provided with. Do they just become excess humans, do they cease having meaning when you cannot make money off them?

The purpose of life is not to find out who can win the most toys or cheat the best. The purpose of life is to see how far we as humans can go without being genetically or technologically modified for the sake of commerce. The purpose of life is not to make things nice for a few; but, to make life better for all. To make a better world. Now that may involve people being rewarded differently; but, not the reduction in the number of people.

There is a concept called the singularity, it is about when machine surpasses man in intelligence. For many who are very wealthy, the same applies to humans. It is the point at which we don't need as many of them to remain wealthy at the top because automation can make things for us.

After the baby boom in the 40s and 50s the hippie generation of the 60s forced change. It scared the powers of the world because the hippies took charge and protested and got change. Right after the 60s, the world was terrorized with the threat of overpopulation. We were told that by the year 2,000 that the world would be out of food and clean water and a whole bunch of nonsense. Who funded these studies, while one of the biggest was the Rockefeller family. It was determined that there were too many people because they were taking charge and changing the world the way they wanted. Everything you are seeing happen in the world today was intended and planned. The term used in 1971 was "Population Stabilization" and it called for population control, restrictions on mobility and an elimination of all barriers between people.

I have linked to these reports in the past on this blog and don't feel like looking for them again, check the older posts. The links were to their own websites. Ask what you can do for society and what society can do for you. Kennedy was wrong. I could give everything for my country; but, there must be a payback unless I choose to give more freely, otherwise we benefit the wrong people. When I give my time for free it is not so that one person can benefit at the expense of everyone else. Especially not someone I don't know who is stealing from all of us. That is not why people give to charity.

If you want to understand the world you have to think about people first. We are not here for the rock that we live on, it is here for us. People matter more than rocks. Do not be blinded to the fact that we matter and are special, we are the self-awareness of the universe that is capable of understanding purpose and how this place all works. The rock that we live on cannot understand us, it is not self aware without us on it.

We all have to stop saying that "those" people don't matter, we all matter. We have to stop calling people drags on society, we have to start cherishing each other because that type of thinking is what leads to the type of thinking that only takes care of their own and takes advantage of everyone else.

Apparently, the Supreme Court has refused to take the case of the church that rented space at a New York city school. This mean that the decision by the Court of Appeals is currently the law of the land.

While I don't think that churches should want to meet in government owned buildings, they should at least be treated the same as any other group. What is most interesting was the courts statement that, "Bronx Household acknowledges that it excludes persons not baptized, as well as persons who have been excommunicated or who advocate the Islamic religion, from full participation in its services." The article said that the judge took acceptance that the church didn't allow Muslims or people who were not baptized in it's services.

Go back to the post about freedom of assembly and read what I wrote. This is not about religion although that is the biggest target, this is about your right to get together with people who believe as you do without allowing in people who disagree with you, the heart of freedom of association.

Basically the article says that the President wants to put a tax on every currency exchange. Lets say you go to England and exchange dollars for euros, you would get taxed to pay for climate change and the money would go to the United Nations. What is interesting is that this would come up now just as the Federal Reserve is flooding foreign banks with dollars, I wonder if there is a connection.

Do you have the right to freedom of assembly and association? I don't like racists; but, does the Klu Klux Klan have the right to refuse to have black members? Recently, the congregation of a church in Kentucky voted to not allow interracial couples in their church. Aside from the fact that their decision violated their own by-laws and that it is stupid and unloving, shouldn't they have the right to decide for themselves who is and is not allowed in their church?

When I was a very young child we still had segregation in the United States. Restaurants and stores and other businesses used to prohibit blacks from going inside. Laws were changed and that type of segregation was outlawed. The theory used to stop businesses from discriminating was that it impinged on trade, on commerce. Lets look at a variation on this, should a Satanist store or church be allowed to keep Christians out? The flip side is should a Christian church be allowed to keep out Satanists.

It is Sunday and I am not teaching tonight. I am not teaching tonight because a group of young Christian wanted to hold a prayer vigil at the church where we rent some space. The churches response was to lock up the church doors and keep the kids out. I guess they didn't want to be "occupied" by believers.

The issue, as was explained to me, was that the kids wanted someone to preach with a more conservative voice. The church (and we are not a part of it, we just rent http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gifspace) that owns the building has allowed Wiccans and Muslims an Jews to all participate in services; but, rejected conservative Christians.

We are entering a very dangerous time for Christianity and Christians. We are going to continue to see churches come under attack for taking a position on things such as abortion, homosexuality, per-marital sex and anything that is not popular. Small examples such as the one I mentioned will be used to condemn whole churches. If you read this story, you will see that the story was not as simple as it was portrayed.

Kentucky.com - Pastor of Pike Co. church calls for new vote on accepting interracial couples as members

Apparently, the denomination involved was a leader in championing the end to slavery in the 1800s. The issue itself was also apparently raised by a prior pastor at the church and not by the current pastor who sought to reverse the vote. Yet, none of that mattered to the people who reported the incident. I think I should put out a video called "Pastors Gone Wild", it would sell like hotcakes.

We are seeing the media highlight the dumbest preachers and ignore churches that are actually helping people. A small church in Kentucky did not deserve to make the international news, the issue wasn't what the church did, the issue was what rights do churches have to decide who can be a member.

In the first video we see what appears to be a number of tents in Melbourne as part of the Occupy Melbourne movement. The intrepid police swoop down to remove and arrest; but, it turns out that people are wearing the tents and they just get up and start running around. The police are completely baffled and wander away.

The second video is a little more disturbing. It takes place in the bronx where some people were standing in solidarity with others who had lost a urban farm. The officer in charge told the other officers that the moment someone stopped walking they should be arrested for blocking the sidewalk.

Now there is a good chance that the members of the church in Kentucky that voted against interracial couples are probably not big supporters of the Occupy movement; but, their rights are intertwined. We either have the right to assemble and decide who we associate with or we do not.

What we are seeing across the whole world, including the "western democracies" is a clamp down on your freedom of assembly and association. It begins by making a big deal about small events that are clearly distasteful and hateful. Laws are enacted to deal with these anomalous events and then they are used against all protest.

The Occupy movement is worldwide and it is more disturbing to the people in power because when they gather it shows just how many people do feel the same way. It is disturbing to the status quo because it is leaderless and therefore cannot be easily manipulated. Many police have overreacted because they want peace and quiet, they want order. They have been brainwashed to believe that peace is more important that the constitution.

Freedom of assembly doesn't just exist for "official" organizations, it is an individual right that we all have. Not long ago a family in Orange County was fined and cited for holding church services in their home. Lets see, you cannot meet in public spaces and you cannot meet in your home, where can people meet? You have to buy or rent a space and incorporate to get any respect it seems.

When you read the newpaper or watch the news pay attention to how these assemblies are portrayed. No matter where in the western world these protests take place they are portrayed in the exact same way. The protesters are portrayed as selfish children who don't have a clear message and need to get a job. Ignore the fact that most are employed or students who are complaining that they are going to be the ones who have to pay for the corrupt system that rewards the wealthy and penalizes the average person.

Rather than worrying about whether or not people support the system, rather than worrying about whether or not you agree with any group, we better support each others right to assemble or it to will be gone.

UPDATE:

After I posted this I came across another news article. Apparently, in New York the schools are able to rent out space for meetings. They even allow you to rent space for religious groups; but, you cannot worship there. You can pray, you can sing, you can teach and you can discuss; but, you cannot worship. Well, some of the space was being used for their church services and the school and them are before the supreme court trying to get a decision.

What happens if the supreme court decides that any religious expression makes it a church? What happens then, how does that effect other laws and the right to assemble? This is no joke and has serious implications. The court might decide that the definitions were too vague and that you can only prohibit actions and not beliefs or intent. That would also be used against churches.

I do not believe that churches should have any business with government. I would not agree with a church that rents space from the government, take money from the government or attempt to effect elections. I have gotten off track.

It is our freedom of assembly and association that is under attack. It is under attack because your government fears you, it fears that you don't trust it and will not willingly do as you are told. I have said many times that I am a pacifist and I do not support mob violence; but, I support people's right to assemble, discuss and just enjoy each others presence.

The U.S. Post Office is going away. For hundreds of years the postal service has allowed Americans to securely communicate and pay bills; but, because of costs it is now delaying mail delivery. It is a minor delay, one or two extra days; but, the impact will be tremendous. If I have to pay fees for late payments then it will drive people to use the internet and online banking.

Here is the thing about the internet, your e-mails and payments are not protected under your right to privacy. I have written about this before; but, wanted to update as service will begin slowing very soon.

A Mark That is Not a Mark

I came across this article today and as I had discussed some of the issues a long time ago I thought it was worthy of posting.

Salon - Occupy protesters “branded” with UV ink.

Here are a couple of things to consider. Firstly, the protesters were marked with an invisible ink that got under their skin and Secondly, it was used to identify them. Does this not seem creepy to you? Many people are worried about a RFID chip being forced upon them and there are Christians that believe the RFID chip is the Mark of the Beast discussed in Revelations; but, I am not one of them. I am against being chipped by anyone for most reasons; but, it is not a mark.

The word used in the bible is χάραγμα charagma. It means "something graven or sculptured". It means that something is cut into or stamped on the body, not an implant. Here is the difference between an invisible mark and an RFID chip. An RFID chip can monitor you, track where you are and effect your health. A invisible (to the eye) tattoo only works when it is scanned using ultraviolet, it would be used to verify that you were you.

Given the choice between an invisible tattoo and an RFID chip being implanted in you, wish would you prefer? I think most would take the tattoo; but, that is a mark. Personally, I would not take either; but, it is interesting to consider. So why did the police brand these protesters, it should be obvious, to find them later.

Why So Many Readers

I was checking my statistics for the blog and last month saw the most hits in history. I have no idea why. I am not aware of any public links to this site and only one private one. My site is not actively promoted, I have never monetized it and talk about whatever is on my mind. You could never accuse this site of being dedicated to any one thing, it is not a place to go for information regarding some hobby or interest.

They say that the world is actually 4.7 degrees of separation. That means that if you tell someone something and it is meaningful then it can spread throughout the whole world and you don't need a television or radio or even the internet to do it. If you have something to say, start a blog, comment on other blogs when appropriate. Heck, just tell people what you really think and try and be polite.

One of the statistics that really got me was the number of hits from Russia. They now make up about a fifth of all hits on this blog. When I was dating Russians always seemed to have a thing for me. LOL.

Associated Press - Central banks move to stabilize financial system

I want you to read this article and consider what it says. European, Canadian and Japanese central banks are letting commercial banks borrow U.S. Dollars. This would be like the Federal Reserve, our central bank, allow Bank of America to buy Japanese yen. The stock markets in many countries rejoiced and a good time was had by all.

Sounds great, we get to sell dollars to banks in foreign counties. We create value out of nothing. The foreign countries banks convert to the only truly internationally accepted hard currency, the dollar, which allows them greater borrowing and the ability to purchase oil, which can only be purchased with dollars.

What happens if inflation hits the U.S. Dollar? Doesn't that make all the money that these banks borrow from us worth less or possibly even worthless. Beyond that, how does giving countries which have borrowed all they can better off if they borrow even more? You also need to remember that for every dollar one of these banks borrows, they get to loan out ten. This is basically turning the dollar into a truly one world currency. We don't need to create one, we just adopted an existing one.

Did you get to vote on this, nope. Did we even hear about this prior to it being done, nope. Is there anything we can do to stop it, nope, it has already happened and not only that but the Federal Reserve doesn't have to do what the government tells it, it is a private banking reserve.

How come this isn't all over the conspiracy sites? Didn't see it on Alex Jones or Rense or David Icke. I didn't even see it on Above Top Secret. I am not recommending any of those sites to anyone, I read them to know what is being sold to their audiences. Why haven't they posted on this already, this is huge.

With this action the final seal is put on the coffin of the United States. Maybe this is why congress is about to authorize the military to arrest American citizens in America and hold them indefinitely without a trial. This is being brought to you by the same group of criminals that created the economic crisis in the first place.

What I also find odd is that we will be paid in the foreign nations currency. This basically means that each countries currency directly and immediately effects the value of the other nations currency. Lets say that today one dollar is worth two yen. Okay, you borrow a dollar and you give me two yen. Simple enough. Next week, the yen drops and it is three yen for one dollar. I lent you the only dollar that I had and you lent me the only yens that you had. For this to work, we have to keep our currencies valuation at about the same rate till all debts are paid off.

Even if you do not understand the intricacies that can result from this, doesn't it just hit you as odd? Would you like your bank to borrow foreign currency? Now lets consider how this could benefit someone. What if they create an international stock exchange where you can buy stock in any country using any countries currency. Now that makes for a truly global economy, a one world economy.

People seem to enjoy making bad decisions. Two articles that I read today really highlight this. The first one is about teaching through crowd sourcing techniques and the second is very scary. Seems a scientist took the bird flu and modified it so that it was capable of killing half of the people on earth.

What reasonable person would create a flu that is capable of killing half of the people on earth? In the book "Faust" by Goethe there is a scientist who creates a little human man. The little man is constantly causing the scientist trouble and Faust asks the scientist why he created the little man in the first place. The explanation was that he wanted to see if he could. That is poor logic when it comes to putting others at risk.

The Globe and Mail - Physicist's crowd-sourcing philosophy gains traction in the classroom

Basically the article is promoting group think or at least that is what we used to call it. I have written about crowd sourcing before, in teaching situations I consider it pure poison. The fact that ten people might come to a good conclusion does not mean that they learned much individually. Let me try it this way, I understand how subtraction works and you understand how multiplication works, we can together arrive at the answer to some math problems; but, neither of us learned anything more, we just used what we already knew.

Working collaboratively has great value, consider the things that we have built that could not be done alone; however, the byproduct of compartmentalization and specialization is the inability of anyone to understand how things fit together, to understand the big picture and consequences of our actions. That sort of brings me back to the first article, the scientist created a thing that has dangerous consequences because he was more concerned about what he was capable rather than understanding that what he was doing was dangerous with little to no value.

Two sides of the same coin, two extremes. The truth is that some of us know more than others; but, all of us are part of a greater community. Not everyone is going to understand quantum physics, be able to create great art, find the deepest philosophical understanding or reach the limits of our human potential because each persons potential is unique to them. At the same time, our duty to the community should keep us from thinking just about us and when we impact the community in too extreme a manner without a valid reason then the community should censor us.

The problem is not one of individual freedom nor is it one of societal dictatorship, it is about reasonableness and balancing both. As we head towards a world where because of technology anyone will be able to bio-engineer something that can kill everyone on earth we need to seriously consider how we will limit these technologies and to do that we need to understand their consequences, it requires wisdom and groups do not exhibit wisdom because that is more comprehensive.

The internet has given us the opportunity to tap into the knowledge base of people worldwide and find new solutions and come to a greater understanding of one another. In the end though, there must still be the individual and he must also be allowed to flourish. We cannot advance society by holding back the individual's search for meaning and we do not have a society worth living in if we restrict variety; but, that does not mean anything goes.

Our national representatives have sold us out (seems completely unrelated doesn't it). Currently congress is considering passing a bill called Senate Bill 1867. This bill would allow the military to imprison Americans without trial indefinitely. This is prohibited by the Constitution as we have a right to go before a judge and have a trial by a jury. The "Patriot Act" denied these rights to foreign citizens and this bill would deny those rights to American citizens if the government so chose.

Theoretically, the relevant language is intended to catch "terrorists", presumably so they do not become the dreaded "terrorrizer guys", the modern day equivalent of the boogeyman. The changes in our laws and the outright rejection of the constitution as the law of the land has happened because people failed to pay attention to what was going on. A few have been telling people about the erosion of our basic liberties for years; but, none listened until all could see. The people we should listen to are not the people who control the world; but, instead the people who can and will honestly explain what is going on. The world needs outliers, those who are unique because they bring a perspective that no group ever would.

I am absolutely exhausted and would have preferred to have discussed these articles at another time; but, I didn't want my readers to miss them. Not my greatest post by any stretch; but, things to consider. More important that either of the articles is the question of the relationship of rights and responsibilities within society, the relationship between the individual and the group, both matter.

Look around, read my oldest posts and anything in between. Don't know how you got here or what you expect and it doesn't really matter, I say what I feel when I think it.

Please feel free to post comments either with your login or anonymously. The site is not monetized, identifies it's quotes and gives attributes it's links. There is no reason to agree with everything I write, much is meant to raise questions more than provide answers. I am much more about discussing perspective than proving how others should think, I didn't live your life and only know what I have learned.

This site is not about telling you the truth, it is about raising questions and providing scenarios to consider. Some of my hypotheticals are very complicated and created in conjunction with others. Others are spur of the moment. It really doesn't matter. The issue for others is not if I am right or wrong, it is whether or not you have fully explored the possibilities, we never can, yet, we can expand on what those possibilities are. Busy Weekend

At the last minute I had to leave my house on Friday, drive about 150 miles and give some advice and spend some time with a relative of mine. I came back today just in time to finish a sermon that someone had to come in and begin at the last minute because of my being delayed.

I haven't even finished eating my sandwich and that is all that I have had all day along with some water and a cup of coffee. After service we had a half out meeting and then rush off home. Got here and tried to catch up on the news. My brain is frazzled and I feel rushed because I feel how little time I have before I have to sleep. Had a great time; but, I love coming home.

I am not really big on travel anymore; haven't been for awhile. I love where I live and sitting at my little table, just reading and writing. I like the tranquility and quiet, I have had too much turmoil and noise the last few years. Still, we find reasons that we have to travel on occasion and should enjoy it when we do. I just know that coming home is even more fun than traveling.

Anyways, over the last few days my relative and I were discussing politics, the what and how of it and what the proper approach is to it. I kept re-iterating the concept of the representative and defining what it meant. To go straight from that to discussing the concept of the hope within you is interesting.

I said that if you are a Christian than the bible says that we should always have an answer for the hope that lies within us. That is generally used to refer to our salvation and it does; but, as Christians we should have more hope than just our salvation if we are to love others as ourselves it would be for salvation for all. That is real hope.

The hope within us should include our believing that God makes everything work to his plan. We should look at everything to see how it can be used to help, learn from, know to avoid, whatever. We should eek the good out of every bad situation, not deny it was bad; but, find a way to learn from it our use it to help others.

Supposedly tonight at 12:01 the police are going to remove people from the park surrounding L.A. City Hall. I wonder if it will go peacefully or if the police will use force and then we can read in the papers how a confrontation occurred at Occupy L.A., then again, what if they do leave and no use of force is needed. What would that say. There is a man named Ron Kaye, in general I like what he has to say; but, he is being a bit of a weasel right now. He referred to the protesters are the red rabble and now is saying that he things they should force a confrontation.

I have always considered Mr. Kaye to be a progressive and supporter of "good government" and cannot understand why neither the left, the right, the progressives or the Tea Party can find any agreement with the Occupy movement. I believe it is because they have been unable to utilize them for their own political ends.

My relative plans on running for office. My advice was simple, don't let any supporters change your message just to get elected. Run on your ideas and if people elect you then do what you said you would do because if they vote for you they are saying that your ideas represent them.

My prayer is that nobody gets hurt tonight and that all ends peacefully in Los Angeles. I hope all of us find some peace this week and find ways to help one another rather than lead one another or harm one another. Be well.

Easter and Christmas are for children. Neither holiday is about God, at least not how they are celebrated. Thanksgiving is the best holiday for Christians, it is about saying than you God for all that we have. Life is much better than eternal silence and separation from God and it only gets better.

In the last month I lost a very good friend that always challenged me and helped me to grow and my childhood sweetheart. I also learned that one of my loved ones was running for office and that one of my daughters is getting married. Life changes and I miss my Julia because it was not her time and I cannot fix it. I can just miss her. Still I am thankful that we can still try and do good.

This is from Fox News. Hey, isn't Fox owned by Rupert Murdoch. The same man who owned the newspaper in England that was found to be paying cops for information and hacking the phones of celebrities?

The article's titles is "Weapons Cache Found During Zuccotti Park Cleanup, Sources Say"

One line from the article is very telling, "Officials from the NYPD would only confirm that one knife was found buried in a planter on Tuesday." We read earlier in the article about this weapon of mass destruction. "Gardeners employed by the park owners, Brookfield Properties, to clean up the mess made by occupiers during their two-month stay discovered various knives, including a large kitchen knife and other potential instruments of violence in flower beds throughout the public space, according to officials."

They had a large kitchen knife, of my, didn't they also have a kitchen? I wonder if the two things are connected? Kitchens and kitchen knives, I see a pattern here. How does this pass for reporting? In another part of the article it talks about how Sanitation workers found items that COULD have been used as weapons. No kidding, anything can be used as a weapon. What it did not say was that anyone who has been arrested or anyone who was a participant was found with any weapons, not even a gun. Across the United States over 1,000 protesters have been arrested and how many had guns on them, none.

The New York police department is not claiming that they found weapons, no, the honest and good folk at Fox news are making this garbage up. Who are these unnamed sources and why not just name them? Because it is a smear piece and not real journalism, it is propaganda.

Here is the issue. I can understand not liking what the movement stands for, I can especially understand people not liking the approach; but, why just run a smear campaign, why not deal with the issues? The reason is the same, because the people that have power see this as an attack upon the system that they use to take advantage of the rest of us.

Everybody knows that the rich got bailed out and the rest of us have to pay the bill. That is what upset everyone on the left, right and even in the middle. We know that the politicians represent the interests that get them elected and it isn't 99% of us, doesn't matter if you are left, right or in the middle. We don't matter and we don't like that. The Tea Party and the Occupy Movement have the same issues, their solutions are just different.

The Tea Party was disliked by the conservatives until they found a way to manage them. The Occupy movement is not liked by liberals because they haven't found a way to get them into the party to support their candidates. The Tea Party and the Occupy Movement members need to meet together to find out what they do agree upon and then insist upon legislation that achieves their united goals rather than agree on candidates.

The most common thing that both agree on is that the Federal Reserve should be abolished and that people should be prevented from paying off politicians with anything. At this point the goal of the media is to make sure that it does not happen and they do that by vilifying both and making both look like wackos.

New Lies About Occupy from L.A. and U.C. Davis

Lets start with the ridiculous. Linda Katehi, the U.C. Davis Chancellor must have cut her deal with the campus police. She has just come out and said that the police DEFIED her by using pepper spray, here is a quote from the L.A. Times article and a link.

"We told the police to remove the tents or the equipment," she told the paper. "We told them very specifically to do it peacefully, and if there were too many of them, not to do it, if the students were aggressive, not to do it. And then we told them we also do not want to have another Berkeley."

Do you believe her? If it were true then why didn't she say so when it occurred, it seems like important information to know. The most likely reasons are that she is playing word games now or that if she had said it at the time she was attempting to support clearly wrong police actions after they occurred. Neither is very hones. As for the police, if that had been her instructions then why were they ignored and riot gear and weapons brought?

As for the officers who used the pepper spray, you have officially been thrown under the bus as I predicted. Right now the Chancellor has probably told the officers involved to keep silent; but, your best bet is to speak up and tell the truth. Fact is the officers involved have been identified and no matter where they go or what jobs they are offered somewhere else, this will follow you. Something for the officers to consider is that if, as she says, they violated her instructions then when the civil suits come the University will not be responsible for representing you or paying the damages, you will be personally responsible because you acted beyond your authority according to the Chancellor.

L.A. Times - Occupy L.A., city inching into endgame for City Hall camp

Now, this story is interesting. It is claimed that the City has offered the Occupy protesters 10,000 square feet of office space in exchange for leaving City Hall at the cost of $1 a year. That my friends is called a gift of public funds and requires Council approval or it is illegal. Rather than clash with them, buy them off. The City apparently thought that their offer would be immediately accepted except there were a couple of problems, one is that it became public and the other is that the protesters that were in discussions had no authority to speak for the movement.

According to OccupyLosAngeles.org, this whole offer is a little shaky and suspicious. "The City/"liaison" Exit Deal & the General Assembly" Their article claims that someone named "Mario Brito" sort of appointed himself as their liaison without support from their general assembly. Now I am not familiar with Mr. Brito; but somewhere in the back of my mind I thought I had read his name before so I did a search.

According to numerous articles, Mr. Brito was depicted as a communist and union organizer running the encampment. Now that is interesting. He is sort of an all around patsy. When the encampment began the accusation was that communists were actually running it rather than some participating in it, big difference. Mr. Brito was the one they used to make this assertion and now apparently he is a representative working with the City to end the encampment.

I am off today and have plenty of water to drink, I like to stay hydrated even if the European Union says that people cannot legally claim that water hydrates us (that is an article that you can search for - lol). A couple of questions come to my mind, if Occupy Los Angeles is not a legal entity (incorporated) then who would the property be leased to? Mr. Brito and his organization?

It all seems sort of orchestrated with complicity on the part of the City. The mayor of Los Angeles has probably done one of the best jobs at not letting it get violent in Los Angeles and he has done it by mostly ignoring the protesters and not surrounding the camp with police day and night. The fact is that one block away from the encampment is the headquarters of the LAPD, one short block away.

What is apparent is that across the nation mayors want to have the encampments closed down before the year ends. What they don't want is for this to last into an election year and buying them off is the last offer. Now if some of the people take the offer then the remaining ones will be removed by force and will be accused of being radicals who will not work with the City, pretty nifty public relations set up isn't it.

Now, there is the chance that the Occupy movement will be removed from the encampments and that the only encampments left will be on Universities and the message will then be about student loans and tuition costs alone as fewer voices are heard because the vast majority of protesters are not students and they will not be allowed to camp out on University properties.

So what should the people within the movement do? I am not a member so I don't get a vote; but, I can make some suggestions. My first one would be don't be bought off and turned into supporters for some political party or "leader". The moment you do your relevance will go away. My second recommendation is remain peaceful no matter what. Third is be prepared to be removed, it will happen soon. The "leaked" letter from the head of Recreation and Parks was done in preparation for the removal (by the way, does anyone really believe that it was not written at the instruction of the mayor?).

Personally, I think it would be a good tactic to remove the encampment prior to the police taking action and then put it up somewhere else for a month and then return again to City Hall. In the end though, this is not about an encampment, that only works so long. It has highlighted the dissatisfaction with our system of finance and political influence; but, now what?

This is not Egypt or Libya and the Occupiers will not topple a government through protests in the streets. For any movement to remain relevant it must not just be against things, it must determine what it is for and then find a way to sustain it's message. I recommend that they consider what they want people to think the message was five and ten years from now.

This blog has often focused on corruption within the political system and continues to attempt to discuss the lies and deceit that we are confronted with in the media. When I changed the title to OCCUPY The Truth is Inside You, it was done partly tongue in cheek and mostly to support the idea of the first amendment and the right to free speech because too many people dismissed the protesters without even making an attempt to hear what they had to say.

Well, the movement has "occupied" many public spaces, the question is what do you do once you occupy, do you involve, do you revolt, do you find consensus for what specific changes you want, how do you continue to be heard as a group. In the end if you will continue to be heard you must have representatives or leaders, I wrote about that not long ago.

Many years ago there was a movement in the United States called the "good government" movement. The protesters might want to investigate it to consider a method that had some effect long term.

Representatives or Leaders

I was thinking about all these articles that I have read where they say that the Occupy movement should pick leaders and it occurred to me how little people understand who do elect. We don't elect leaders, we elect representatives and there is a big difference.

The people we vote for are supposed to represent what we believe and want, not lead us to what we should think. That would be backwards. The problem is that we look at any politician as our "leader", they are not, leaders political "leadership" is totalitarian.

The Tea Party picked leaders and it has gotten them nothing. The problem is not "authority" the problem is looking for leaders. Why would the people of California vote for someone like Arnold, because they think that they are supposed to vote for a strong father figure. It makes them feel safe.

I have been responsible for managing people for four decades and I have never once considered myself to be anyone's leader. I think of work as a group effort with people having different roles to play.

A call for a leaderless society is not a call for anarchy, it is a call for representation. When we elect representatives they have elective authority which makes their decisions have authority. When they cease to represent us they lose this authority. If 90% of the people have no confidence in our elected representatives because they are not attempting to represent us and represent a limited group then our government loses it's moral authority as it has failed to meet it's primary responsibility of representing us. Their duty to represent us is even more important that their duty to protect us.

Before we can fix things we need to understand what went wrong. Part of the problem is what we think and how this led us to electing leaders and representatives that don't represent us. Think about the whole election process, a bunch of sociopaths offer to do things for us, give us things, we vote for them and then they blame others in congress or wherever for being unable to give us what they promised.

What happened at U.C. Davis has made international news and made us look like a third world dictatorship. I personally am not very happy with that. Here is something else to consider, how many presidential candidates have said anything about what happened and I don't even care what position they took, here is why you cannot vote for them, because they have yet to take a position on what happened. They are waiting to see how it will effect them in the polls.

Our politicians have no opinions, they only think about what will get them elected. Even the idiots Gingrich and Cain have not come out with strong support or any comments that I can find on what happened at U.C. Davis and they both oppose the Occupy movement, they are cowards. Come out and say that this is how our citizens and students should be treated if you believe it. Prove to us that you are capable of firm and decisive decisions regardless of the effect on your popularity. If you actually believed what you say you do then you would say that, "While I may not agree with them, I will defend to the death their right to say it". Isn't that what the Tea Party was about Mr. Cain or was it just about taxes moron?

I have no political affiliation so don't think the Democrats are any better. Where was the President during all this, where are his statements. If you can't comment on this how can we listen to you berate other countries for doing the same. You lack all moral authority Mr. Obama.

People might think that this post is about the Occupy movement; but, it is not, it is about the lack of honest, selfless political leadership in this country. It is about asking ourselves the same questions we ask of other governments.

No Big Deal, Not My Fault, I Made a Mistake, What Now

An open post to Lieutenant P of the U.C. Davis Police,

I am writing this as if I were talking to you, perhaps you will find it and perhaps you will not; but, it is going to be good advice to both you and other police. Firstly, my father was a highly decorated law enforcement officer and many of my friends were either in intelligence, law enforcement or the military. I myself work for the government. If you had worked for my father, it would not have been for long.

I don't know what you were thinking when you so casually pepper sprayed those students; but, it sure didn't look like you cared about their well being. My guess is that you thought you were doing your job, exercising the authority of the state. You do work for the state of California's University system. I read that you were trained in the use of pepper spray; but, that doesn't mean you are supposed to use it.

As you walked out to the small group of people sitting in the quad you probably thought the most important thing was to remove them for not listening to authority; but, you were wrong. Your first and highest priority is to the citizens and not to the university authority figures. It is claimed that you have two awards from the university for your actions in the past. It is possible that you have protected in the past and did not understand your number one allegiance is protect others even more than enforcing rules. Lots of people get that wrong.

I wrote earlier about the incident, my focus was more on the media; but, I did predict what would happen next. Your name and face and address and phone number have all been released on the internet. I do not agree with what has been released; but, I expected it. One way or the other it would have gotten out eventually. You are no doubt concerned about you and your family and probably should be, I would be. When I was a child, criminals targeted my family. I feel sorry for your children, should you have any, having to experience what I did. The difference is, my father was targeted by criminals.

You have a couple of choices. You can leave and hide, find a place where you are not known or is supportive of such tactics; but, do you really want to live in a place full of right wing militia types? The second choice is that you can attempt to stay. Because of the publicity, there is a good chance that the university will throw you under the bus even if you were following directions. Nope, don't expect help from the university. You might think the police union will support you; but, then what, you stay on knowing that everyday the students hate you. That does not sound like a good idea. You might go out on stress, then you can be an example and a reason for people to go after the pension benefits for all state police. Bottom line is you are going to be used by everybody with any agenda and you put yourself in the situation.

I will make a different recommendation. Make a public statement and tell the truth. If you truly thought what you were doing was right, whatever the reason, then publicly announce it. If you thought you were right; but, truly now believe you had overreacted, then say that; but, don't say it if it isn't true. You showed no courage when you sprayed them; but, you can show it now.

You might think this will all blow over; but, it will not. It will lessen; but, things will never be the same for you at the university. Now, if you truly do believe that you were wrong, you have an opportunity for redemption. Come out, say why you did what you did, why it was wrong and that you are going to dedicate your life to being a example and mentor to other police officers to tell them that acting with aggression on the people you are supposed to protect is wrong. Tell them where you went wrong and how things should have been handled. By the way, when it is peaceful protest the correct response, if people's lives are not being threatened, is for disengagement. You are supposed to leave and then come back in plain clothes and talk to the people, it is a community approach to policing.

This should also be a lesson to all people who should be honored to be responsible for the security of the citizens. Think about all the information that you have on citizens, they have the same on you. Lt. P, they will no doubt hack your phone and your internet. There is the chance that they will release your browsing history. I say this so that you have a chance to protect your information.

My opinion is that none of your information should have been released unless and until the university had the chance to either deal with what happened or put out what I expect from them, a watered down explanation. In everyone's lives there are moments of truth, the first one for you was when you chose to douse the students in the manner that you did, the next one is in how you deal with the consequences of your actions and the truth is, the whole world is watching.

The first step, if you do believe your actions were wrong, would be to invite the students who you pepper sprayed to meet with you in person so that you can see how it effected them. That could be very tough to do; but, it would show some sincerity and remorse. It was your job to make the students feel safe on campus, I assume you have seen the videos, would you feel safe if you were them?

You are no doubt getting a lot of advice and hate. Advice from those who love you and hate from those who don't know you. Worse yet, you are probably getting support from people who don't know you at all and just like to see people "put in their place". Think for yourself, decide if what you did is right, if you would feel the same way if it was your family and friends.

This is an opportunity for you to grow and learn a whole lot about yourself and how society should work. It is my prayer for you that you make the best choice and understand that it is your privilege to protect others from authority, not abuse it.

I noticed that along with a spike in readership, there was also increased traffic regarding the good Pastor Carol Daniels. For whatever reason, and it is beyond me, my little blog is one of the highest when you search for information regarding her. When I wrote the original it was just a one time post; but, words tend to have a life of their own. Because people continue to be interested I have gone back and attempted to tag each article that I wrote regarding her just to assist the reader.

I did a search for her name myself and did not see any new information; but, if anyone ever has any I would appreciate it if they would leave a comment so that I can check the article and leave a post and link for those who come here. Health Benefits of Pepper Spray"

As the chancellor of UC Davis said that the police were sent because of health concerns for the students, I decided to look up the medical benefits of being sprayed in the face with pepper spray. According to Wikipedia:

"The US Army concluded in a 1993 Aberdeen Proving Ground study that pepper spray could cause "[m]utagenic effects, carcinogenic effects, sensitization, cardiovascular and pulmonary toxicity, neurotoxicity, as well as possible human fatalities. There is a risk in using this product on a large and varied population".[13] However, the pepper spray was widely approved in the US despite the reservations of the US military scientists after it passed FBI tests in 1991. As of 1999, it was in use by more than 2000 public safety agencies.[14]"

Now if I read that correctly some of the health benefits include death. I don't really see that as very beneficial. I mean even if you believe in assisted suicides for the terminally ill, those kids looked sicker after being sprayed then before. Obviously I am being sarcastic; but, they make it so easy. The truth was that the University didn't want the kids occupying the campus so why lie. I would have a lot more respect if the chancellor had said that the university did not want to be disrupted and that the officers had overreacted.

The chancellor's answers were just stupid and politically aimed and it failed. If the chancellor thought the officers were using pepper spray as some sort of vaccination against disease then maybe she would be willing to stand in the quad and prove that it is a good form of vaccination by being sprayed in the face herself. If she is so stupid that she believes that there are health benefits to being pepper sprayed then she does not deserve to run anything and should be removed.

The students were protesting the fact that their tuition had doubled in the last seven years. I went to a website that showed the salaries for people working for the university in 2007 or 2008 and it said that the head coach of the football team made over $2 million a year. It was amazing how many working for the university were making around a million.

The way the universities look at students anymore is purely business. The universities promote the kids taking out as much in loans as possible in order to pay the administration and faculties salaries. The UC system was theoretically created to educate Californians; but, out of staters and foreign students pay more so the Universities have been letting more in with fewer Californians being accepted even though our taxes pay for the system.

Is that what was on the officer's minds, they were trying to protect the health of the students by shooting industrial strength pepper spray into their faces? Are there no nurses or doctors on the campus that could have given the kids physicals, it seems more sensible. If I am not mistaken the police were also carrying weapons that looked like paintball guns, maybe they were really advanced medical equipment; but, it didn't look that way to me.

Now if we can cut through the spin and lies, we all should be able to figure out what happened. Around a dozen students decided to pitch tents on their campus in support of the Occupy movement. The University did not want it to spread, ordered it's removal and the officers came with an overwhelming show of force in order to make an example of the students in order to intimidate others to not participate in further occupations. That is a much more likely scenario than that they came to protect them from the flu or whatever nonsense.

Rather than sending in the campus police with weapons and body armor, maybe the Chancellor could have walked down to the encampment and talked to the students and worked out something where they could have camped during the day and returned to their dorms at night. Certainly something could have been attempted rather than sending the police to break it up. The Chancellor is probably very well paid, I would have hoped she could have come up with better answers.

Spike in Readership

I am off this week, sort of, and slept till noon. It was very nice to just lay in bed. When I woke up I logged into my e-mail accounts and then checked the blog. Since yesterday I have seen ten times as many readers as normal. The number one post that people read was about Ms. Rothschild complaining about the Occupy movement. I have no idea why as no comments were left.

Now, to tell you the truth I don't really care who she is, I haven't been impressed by her articles or condescending approach. From the comments left on her article at Huffington post, a lot of people found her annoying. In the end, she misses the biggest point of all, how should society be organized so that we have a decent life for as many people as possible. That is what philosophers have questioned for thousands of years.

We have become a world of very educated people with some being very good at taking advantage of the system to benefit themselves at the expense of others. We do this on a national level and on a personal level. The idea was that someone should be compensated based on how much they contributed to society and that we should protect people who could not contribute. It was based on morality and not just money.

There are those who talk about the "job creators", okay what if we compensated people based on how many jobs they created rather than the value of a companies stock. That would change how CEOs operated (this is an example, it would not be as easy as it sounds).

Here is something to consider just for the fun of it. Many police departments were given stimulus money to "create jobs" and they used this money to hire police and buy supplies. Wouldn't it be nice to know how many jobs were created by the police buying pepper spray. Maybe the cop from Davis felt he was creating jobs by spraying the kids with pepper spray, I mean you have to use it up to justify buying more. Maybe the cop thought of himself as a job creator.

It sounds completely ridiculous because it is insanity. It takes the human element out of how our society is organized and should function; but, that is what happens when it stops being about people and is just about money. Hey, this may not be my best post ever; but, I am still drinking my first cup of coffee.

Ms. Rothschild offers nothing on how to improve the world, status quo seems quite alright with her; but, the status quo is failing at every level of society. The world has become bankrupt on an international, national and personal level because people have ceased believing in a greater morality than just personal gain.

U.C. Davis's chancellor is calling for a 30 day review of what happened and has put the two officers involved and the chief on administrative leave. That means they will be paid for not pepper spraying people, I mean working. It means that the Chancellor is now a job eliminator. I am okay with that, those officers need to find new jobs.

Now knowing a bit about politics, there are only so many ways that the investigation can end. Lets consider them. First, they find the officers guilty of abuse of power and fire them. Second, they find the officers guilty of overreacting or some nicely worded justification. If that happens the cops could stay at UC Davis where they will be under constant risk of whatever or they are transferred to another campus. If that happens then everyone at the new campus will feel they are being threatened. Perhaps the officers will be allowed to retire; but, one of them it said was relatively new.

Now another possibility is that the officers are not disciplined other than being sent for retraining or sensitivity training or whatever, that is not going to please anyone. Here is the problem, the investigation will not be about if the officers were guilty, it will be about finding a Public Relations answer, not about fixing what led to the situation.

As for the individual officers involved, I bet they are having a bad week. While the officers may not have thought anything of what they did at the time, I would hope that rather justifying it to themselves they would sit back and ask if what they did was morally right. I would hope they would ask them how they would have felt if it was their family that was pepper sprayed. At some point they will be interviewed and their answers will determine how people respond; but, true rehabilitation does not happen in a day. Maybe they will be given jobs in the prison system because so few care about how we treat prisoners, just consider the L.A. County jails problems.

I find it interesting that the governor and the mayor's have not said anything about what happened at the university. They don't have much to say because there is a good chance in their minds that we might need more pepper spray in order to stop the Occupy protests.

Two quick points, the police officer that pepper sprayed the students at UC Davis, well, his name has been published in the news. The protesters have also announced that they plan to sue in court.

The article begins with this,"A confrontation between police and Occupy protesters at UC Davis ended Friday afternoon with the arrest of 10 students after police officers used pepper spray to force protesters from an encampment in the campus quad, according to protest supporters and a campus spokeswoman."

What, did the spokesman not view the video or do they just not care about the truth and how could the "reporter" not bring this into question. Does that look the people getting pepper sprayed had surrounded the police? You can watch the video it is linked to in one of my earlier posts. Does that cop look scared of the kids sitting on the ground, were they intimidating him by sitting down. Does it look like they are preventing him from doing anything?

Do the people getting pepper sprayed look like they are inside an encampment? The first picture is the one published by the Sacramento Bee to accompany the story. The second picture is what really happened. That my friends is media dishonesty and propaganda. Read the article in the Bee and watch the video and tell me that the reporter was unbiased.

The thugs masquerading as campus police have a problem. The Chancellor has a problem and it will not just go away in a couple of days. By intentionally pepper spraying students peacefully sitting on the ground in protest with no reason only caused the whole school to come together and the reason is simple, they knew that they could all be treated the same way.

All across the United States we are hearing mayor's say that they are concerned about the safety of the Occupiers because of "health" concerns they instruct their police to go out and pepper spray, beat and arrest them. I'm glad they aren't concerned about my health, I prefer seeing a doctor to being beat. What type of logic is it that justifies such a thing? Warped logic.

Look you don't have to agree with the Occupy movement or everyone in it; but, you should be able to tell when the politicians are lying. Out of concern over the protesters health they shot them with dowels and bean bags in Oakland. If there is going to be any meaningful discussion the first thing that needs to happen is that the politicians need to listen and recognize the people that they are supposed to represent.

My advice to the police is also simple, don't beat the people who you are supposed to protect because not everyone is a pacifist as I am. The cop that sprayed those students should probably just resign because my guess is that everybody will know who he was. Who will listen to him and how will he react towards every student who he sees saying, "Shame on you".

The protests are not going to stop. Not in a day and not in a month. New ways will be utilized for protest, this is history, learn from it. We don't want to live in a radicalized and polarized nation. Who would want to live in such a state? Attempts to clamp down peaceful demonstrations only highlight what is wrong with the people running our institutions.

This is Disgusting - The First Amendment Matters

I want everybody who reads this to watch the linked video. A group of students sitting on the ground in protest at U.C. Davis are pepper sprayed by what I assume are campus police for no apparent reason. The officer pepper sprays them as if they were not human at all. Watch the video and then read the linked article. In the article one officer says that this approach is standard for people who don't comply. Really, you watch the video and tell me that this is right and by the way, how many people will seek to go to a university where this is how they are treated after paying their money to get an education.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

You better respect the constitution as it applies to all especially those you disagree with or it has no meaning and you have no rights. When the people with authority violate the laws then the people will soon follow and ignore them also.

UPDATE:

You know I went back and read a couple of articles on this and I am more disgusted now then when I first saw the video. The moron in charge of the campus police said that the officers had been surrounded by protesters and had to use pepper spray in order to get away. Really? Is that what you see in the video? The officers didn't pepper spray people surrounding them, they pepper sprayed people sitting on the ground. The police had no problem leaving and had weapons.

Do we hire any police with and sense anymore? U.C. Davis has had many protests, why is it the the Occupy movement protest was treated harsher? The protesters were not intimidating the police, they were just sitting on the ground, walk around them. What effect will this episode have on the campus police and the university itself? Not a good one.

As I have said in the past, this is not about a law or series of laws, this is about the system itself and that is why it is found so threatening to people who presume they have authority. The video highlights who is truly guilty and it is the police. Could you casually use heavy duty pepper spray on someone just sitting on the ground as the officer did? How do you do that to someone, I could not and my father who was a distinguished would not have.

There are those who think that they will simply remove tents from lawns and that the issues will all go away; but, that is not history. UC Davis Police Chief Annette Spicuzza stated that the police had been encircled and were forced to pepper spray so that they could exit. She is a liar and the video shows that. Shame on her, she should be removed from her position as she clearly is incapable of taking the appropriate action in order to restore some dignity to the force that she commands.

An Interesting Letter Regarding the Occupy Movement

Couple of minor points first. Recently it was announced that the government was considering eliminating options trading. Didn't I mention that over a year ago? Yes, I said that this would happen. I am not patting myself on my back for knowing what would happen, it just proves to me how fixed and planned the system is.

A letter has come to surface, it is very interesting. It is from one of the lobbying firms, it asks the American Bankers Association for almost a million dollars to conduct "opposition research" in order to discredit the Occupy movement. I will post a link to the MSNBC article which has a link to the letter.

Why would a lobbying firm offer to discredit the movement and any politicians who support it when as the media regularly reports, nobody knows what they believe. Why discredit a group that the media says has no unified agenda or leaders? And why send the offer to the American Bankers Association?

Well, to begin with the lobbying firm must have made two assumptions. The first was that the bankers saw the movement as an attack on how they do business. The second was that the bankers would pay almost a million dollars just to do an initial study of the movement, that is a lot of money.

I just had to post this because I thought my readers should know what is going on. I care about what I write and I care because people read my words. This may not be the most read blog in the world; but, it is read and I do care about those who read it. I want it to be informative.

I have to out myself about something unrelated to this post. Not long ago I posted about how I was thinking about dating again. I let myself look at women again, I gave myself that permission. I went to an event tonight celebrating the life of a friend of mine who passed away and I hate to say it; but, I found myself looking at some of the women. I know, at a wake, really Pimpernel. Sorry, but it is true. I did not hit on any of them; but, I thought about how attractive women can be. Now, I will sound like a real jerk, one of the women was the daughter of my friend and I happen to know she is single. There is nothing to be concerned with, she lives very far away and I don't expect to see her again; but, I feel pretty bad about even having thought about how attractive she was. Am I a complete jerk for that?

I sort of feel dirty for having appreciated the beauty of a lady who was in morning. Yet, I am human and we have thoughts as we have thoughts. A pretty woman is a pretty woman and I am straight so I like pretty women. No, she was not just pretty, I happen to know that she is also very accomplished in her field. If you can understand what I just wrote then I ask you to not hate the lobbying firm for presenting a proposal to the bankers. It is a lobbying firm, it is their job to find out if people want them to push for someone's agenda.

Please understand that it is okay for industries to make sure that their interests are heard and they should be allowed to hire people who can present their side of the story in the best manner possible. I know, I support the Occupy movement, sort of, and then support the bankers having a right to promote their side of the argument. I believe in free speech for all.

My problem with the article is that the lobbyists were willing to misrepresent the truth and work only off spin rather than honest arguments. Law school presented many challenging questions. One moral question we had to address (if we were honest with ourselves) was whether or not it was right to represent people who were guilty. A friend of mine who was a famous attorney, told me the answer. He told me that it was not the job of the attorney to be the judge or jury, it was his job to make sure that the person had a coherent response. It was not a lawyers job to lie for a client; but, it was their job to make sure that they put forth their clients best arguments in order to make the opposition prove their case.

It is not wrong to have feelings. My friends daughter was attractive to me. What would have been wrong would have been to acted on such thoughts in such a situation. Same is true for this lobbying firm. What they did wrong was not that they sought business, what was wrong was that they openly sought to portray others in a negative light regardless of the issues. They basically acted like ambulance chasing attorneys and that is not productive for the nation. It is cookie chasing regardless of the consequences to anyone else.

In every situation our minds toss around a variety of possible responses. We are human, it is how we work; but, we can choose to not act on every impulse. We can choose to eliminate some possibilities because we can choose to act on intent rather than impulse. We can choose to do that which is best for all rather than just act in selfishness. We can choose to matter, to make a difference an to exercise free will with responsibility rather than with only self interest.

Okay, I think that is it for the day. So much has gone on and I am going to listen to some music and drink some wine in a toast to a friend, heck, maybe a friend and another. Be well.

Saying Another Goodbye

As I think I had previously mentioned, a friend of mine passed away recently. Tonight there was a celebration of his life, I think he would have liked it, it was very classy and appropriate. I had tried not to think about his passing too much until tonight, I can only handle so many deaths at a time.

At the celebration of his life I had a chance to speak to one of his children who is taking over his company. We go through life and take on different responsibilities. If we are successful we take on more rather than fewer responsibilities. His son will be responsible for the lives of many people and their families, he has been given a great honor and great responsibility at a time when he has just lost his father. That is a lot to have happen in a day.

Everybody wants to be in charge; but, few want the responsibilities that go with it. I personally think my friend will find he will grow into the role quite naturally so this is not about him. If you have read my writings for any amount of time it should be apparent that I use real life events to highlight issues. It is possible that I become more analytical at times in order to avoid emotional pain and if so, so what. LOL.

My friend that passed away had created a company worth quite a lot. You can never really know how much until you see what others will offer to buy it and that changes on a daily basis, so, lets just say lots of money. His family could have sold the company and lived comfortably for the rest of their lives. I believe it is only because his son learned the business and cared about the company that they did not. Heck, they could have done an IPO, kept 51% of the stock and hired someone to manage it; but, they didn't. Instead they kept it in the family and his son is going to take on more responsibility.

One of the problems with American business anymore is that the people who run the companies don't care about the companies or the people who they employ, it is just about the value of the stock and how much the CEO makes. That is a big part of why our economy came apart. Ford didn't go bankrupt; but, family members still control the company.

For any organization to be sustainably successful it must be about the organization and not about the self. It has to be about shared success and shared accomplishments, it has to be about the people. Somewhere around 35 years ago we lost sight of this. Companies stopped thinking of employees as family and leaders stopped thinking about the company as meaningful beyond what they made personally. That was the beginning of the end.

It has been a tough month for me. I am really getting tired of people dying on me. In the last five years I have buried over 20 people, family and friends, mostly family. Each person I said goodbye to was a part of my life, a part of my growth and experience. That is how we effect each other, we become intertwined in each others lives for good or ill.

Though it used to frustrate my daughters, I try and have a positive impact on everyone I deal with, I try and remember that our interactions are always personal on some level, that I am dealing with real people with real emotions and real challenges even when it is the clerk or teller who I will never see again. Those moments are what make up our life.

I dealt with my friend, his son and others at his company for about ten years. I have been blessed to have enjoyed many conversations with my friend and he had a very keen mind and good business sense. I never dated dumb women for a reason, I like a keen mind. I will miss our conversations and miss him, he was and always will be a part of my memories and my life. I preach on the weekends so expect this. My prayers go out to his family and I ask that God kindly receive him to heaven. None of us are perfect, none is good but God; but, some of us actually care about others and he did. He was a blessing in my life and did some good things and I will miss him. Be well, I have one more thing that I must post tonight.

Something Lighter

I have posted quite a bit about government and politics lately. I would like to post something not related. As I had mentioned previously, my childhood sweetheart died. It really got me thinking. My ex-wife asked for the divorce four years ago and it has been finalized for over a year and a half. I dated a handful of women for a bit and then stopped dating at all. Instead I used that time to unburden myself of my house and most of my possessions and move.

Anyways, after the death of my childhood sweetheart (and we have not spoken in over 30 years), it got me thinking. I think my life is my own again, I am settled and what has happened is over. I have a feel for which direction I am heading and believe that now I can tell a woman what I intend to do with the rest of my life, more or less (we have to leave room for adjustments and learning).

So, I think I might be willing to date again. Now the question is how do I go about doing this? I mean do I actively pursue finding someone or wait till they find me? Do I date anyone who says yes if I ask them? How do I decide who to ask? What am I looking for in a partner? I think these are all questions that I have to answer before embarking on a change in my life and the truth is that I am still enjoying my relative solitude. I feel I have had chains on me all my life and only now do I feel free.

There has been some time that has passed since I wrote the last paragraph. Hey, I got 9 days off and I haven't in a long time. I am in no hurry, I can write all night. I have made a decision, I will consider dating after Valentines Day has begun. Perhaps, I shall meet a woman on Valentine's Day who is in the same predicament. Tomorrow I go to a wake for a friend who has passed on. It is important to let his family know the lives that he has touched and he touched mine.

For my part, I can still touch more lives including that of a lady who wishes to have me touch her life, even if we don't know it yet. That is how life is, so many opportunities to find relationship and the real requirement is that we know ourselves and that they know themselves.

I think that if I start dating again, I will give the lady my blog address and let them read and understand me before going further. I think that this blog gives people a pretty good idea of what I believe and who I am. More than meeting me, it shows how I think. I think any woman who chose to date me should be forewarned about what kind of psychotic I am. LOL.

I ask people if they know what the number one thing is that I look for in a woman is and then I tell them that it is poor eyesight. Thankfully, the Lord has given poor eyesight to many so I have a chance. But, a chance for what? What should I look for in a woman and how will I know if I have found it? Tough questions, questions that everyone should ask themselves before engaging in such an endeavor. At a minimum, they should like a writer.

So dear readers, what sort of crazy lady would be able to handle and appreciate dating a man such as me? ROFL. Perhaps we shall find out next year. In the meantime, time for myself to figure me out and appreciate my intent for my life and allow another to appreciate their intent for their life.

My dear readers, wish me luck and wish any woman dumb enough to date me grace and good fortune. How did I get here? Pretty simple, I lost my wife and the love of my life (my childhood sweetheart). My ex said she hoped that I would find someone else (for all the wrong reasons) and my childhood sweetheart let me go decades ago for all the right reasons. I am free and do want companionship; but, picking the right companion matters.

Perhaps we should have a survey on what type of person I should be with and should be with me; but, that is not going to happen. We all have to find out for ourselves and I wish you all good luck on your journey. See, no politics and I could have turned this into a political discussion. Be well.

Oscar Ramiro Ortega-Hernandez Video

I am not providing a link to it and I am not posting it here, it is merely the subject of the post. Apparently, the police believe that Oscar is the person who attempted to shoot President Obama, even though he was in another state at the time.

According to reports, Mr. Hernandez-Ortega shot from a half mile away from inside his car and hit the white house with two bullets. He managed to do this without anyone noticing and drove away. His car apparently had broken down or had an accident and he left his car with the rifle inside it. He then apparently left on foot to only be found in the last two days.

I watched a 20 minute video that he had recorded of himself. In the video he promotes marijuana, claims to speak to God and says that he can stop war and improve the world. They are saying that he had some trouble with the law, he states that he had been involved in gangs and his family report that they have been worried about him for a year since he disappeared.

My observation from the video is that he needed help. He seems confused and erratic. He does not make any threats to anyone in the video nor did I hear him mention the President. Reports say that he told others that he believed that Obama was the anti-Christ.

My question is how will this be used by the media to justify some new law. It will be. Let the circus begin as politicians scramble to pass a law that will prevent "this from ever happening again". Of course nothing can prevent crazy people from doing crazy things. The media already attempted to connect this guy to the Occupy movement; but, that didn't work well. He will be used to vilify something. We can wait and see what it is. He talked about Oprah; but, I doubt she will be blamed. He talked about a lot of things; but, only the ones the media dislikes will be the subjects that are blaemd.

It came out today that Homeland Security had worked with police in Portland regarding the Occupy movement, no kidding. Meanwhile CNN has published an article saying that America is not on a decline. It sure looks and feels like one, what am I missing? If this is things getting better than someone needs to tell me what better means.

Warren Buffet has been telling people for years what direction the nation is headed in and what is wrong with the way that Wall Street and big business are failing us as a society. I think it is important that people go back and read what he said; but, I will give some of the essentials. The biggest problem is that we set up a system of rewards for Wall Street and CEOs that was not based on how well a company performed within it's industry. Instead, we have set up a system that rewards people based on how it's stocks perform, not dividends; but, the value of the stock. It promotes short term trades rather than true investment in stocks. That is why CEOs can get bonuses even when the company if failing or in bankruptcy.

I wrote a very long time ago how option trading could be halted. Now, people are actively looking at ending such trading. I read an article about it today. The way business works today has a lot to do with insurance. People who don't have insurance for their decisions often make riskier decisions.

AIG insured bad investments. High risk and high return go together and that is fine; but, you shouldn't insure high risk investments because it promotes bad investments. Let us be very clear, that is not good capitalism. I personally believe in capitalism, though it is not about democracy, those are two different concepts.

Capitalism is the idea that individuals should be rewarded for their efforts if they result in improvements or production that is valued by others. Our system is not capitalistic and hasn't been for a long time. Instead we have a ponzi capitalism where government backed insurance protects those who are big investors and it is paid for by your taxes.

The housing bubble was backed by tax dollars as insurance, because of that the banks profited by lending to anyone regardless of their ability to pay. You see, the second aspect of real capitalism is that you have to live with the consequence of your bad decisions and that didn't occur for the wealthy that own the big banks.

What we really have is a form of oligarchical socialism for a few and an insurance class totalitarianism for the rest of us. Same for our so called democracy, our political class represents not the people; but, the privileged. After all they were the ones who got bailed out. People on both the left and the right understand this, they just differ on some of their solutions.

Who is against having a level playing field and having the rules apply to everyone equally? I was not a big supporter of the Tea Party because I saw how quickly it was overtaken by monied interests. One of the biggest supporters of the Tea Party was the Koch brothers and their history is a little questionable to say the least.

MF Global is an excellent example of how we are not living in a capitalist society. MF Global invested other people's money in commodities, if the value went up then the company benefited even more than the people whose money they invested. If the commodities dropped in value then the people who invested had to pay the debt. There was no risk for MF Global itself unless people couldn't pay the companies debt.

The reason I support the Occupy to any extent is firstly based on their right to air their grievances and secondly (and as importantly), it is an opportunity to identify what the problems with the system are rather than thinking that electing "new" politicians will change the system because it has not.

The problem with the system is that is it unfair, undemocratic and fixed so that some have no risk and others bare the risk for them. AIG went bankrupt; but, Berkshire Hathaway did not and their biggest investment is in insurance. So why didn't Berkshire Hathaway go bankrupt? The answer is simple, they didn't insure bad investments to an insane amount.

The highest purpose that the Occupy movement can cause right now is not in proposing legislation, it is in awakening the nation to how we were taken advantage of and how our system is no longer capitalistic. My question is how the protesters will now find a way to start consolidating on what needs to be fixed and in what manner, the same is true for the Tea Party and Cain is not the answer.

We have a new story. ABC News - DC Shooting Suspect Could Be Threat to Obama, Police Say As you read the story wait till you get to the part where it says that "U.S. Park police say Ortega may have spent time blending in with Occupy D.C. protesters." Really, based on what, the fact that he was in D.C.?

Turns out the guy is 21, from Idaho and has a history of mental instability. Jeez where have I heard that before. Now, why say he may have been with the Occupy movement? He may have been with the Republican movement or the Tea Party too, he may have been anything; but, shouldn't there be some evidence before the media makes such assertions?

I have been in front of the White House, how the heck did this guy manage to fire at it and hit the window is way beyond me. Reports say that the shots came as he jumped out of a car and fired. He must be an amazing shot. There are snipers on the roof of the White House, even terrorists who are willing to kill themselves haven't achieved this. They want to eliminate open carry of guns and this is going to be used to do that. They will start by making it illegal in Washington D.C., one step at a time kids.

On a lighter note, a group of millionaires went to Washington to ask the people making more than a million dollars a year be taxed a little more. They were ridiculed by the politicians. Associated Press - Millionaires on Capitol Hill: Please tax me more!

Do you understand how crazy are legislators are? Put the pieces together, the politicians have figured out how to steal money by making stock investments (as reported by 60 minutes and others) and they don't want to be taxed on it because most of the people in congress are millionaires. The lunatics truly are running the asylum. I forgot something, certain news sources are now reporting that Homeland Security may have been the people who organized the mayors to take out the Occupy encampments at the same time.

Not every millionaire is crooked or evil; but, our political class is out of control. Here is a YouTube Video - Amazing video of violence at #OccupySeattle Unprovoked assault by police. Is this the kind of nation we want, one where the police pepper spray people for standing on the street in peaceful protest? They are protesting a system that is corrupt as proven by our politicians using insider information to make investments and enrich themselves and this is in Seattle a pretty liberal city.

How about this, in New York the police are keeping people out of Zuccotti Park even though there is a court order allowing people in during the day and as previously mentioned by their mayor himself, the park is private property and the City had previously passed laws requiring it to remain open to anyone at anytime. The law does not apply to the police in New York as they explained when they said they had a right to fix tickets for family members and it doesn't apply to the mayor.

Now here is something that will make it easy to understand. How many cities across the U.S. that are facing shortfalls have cut the salary of the police and how many have given them raises as we did in Los Angeles. Why did they get raises and why do they get paid overtime to watch peaceful protesters and pepper spray them? Because if you cut the salary of the police then they might side with the protesters.

The NYPD has become part of the Occupy movement, they are Occupying Zuccotti park to make sure that nobody enters it. The protesters surrounded them. Do you not see that our nation is occupied by morons and corrupt politicians? The people in charge don't know what lie to tell, things are moving too quickly and not following the established patterns. Their actions are dangerous and ill advised. Common sense doesn't seem that common right now.

What use is a political class that is supposed to represent the people when 90% of the people feel that they are not being represented? I really do want to know what type of idiot looks at this economy, this blatant corruption and thinks this country or this world for that matter are working?

Now a little history. Remember the movie "Braveheart", I have another for you to watch it is called "Zulu". Many people do or have seen other such films. The kids today know military techniques, they play fricking video games like "Call of Duty". Think they won't figure out how to respond to the police tactics? I don't wish to see violence in our streets, not from the cops and not from the protesters and the police and politicians are pushing them to respond violently.

This can either come down as shared sacrifice and we get things back in order or it can be where a few benefit and everyone loses. I prefer the first choice. Why don't our politicians and why are the police supporting violating the law in New York? Think about this, people who were hippies in the 60s are preventing their grandchildren from protesting and ridiculing them for doing so.

One More Bloomberg Statement

Now I do recall statements being made that the people at Occupy Wall Street were violating the hours of operation of the park. Okay, that would validate a trespass charge; but, I just read a statement by Bloomberg that was different.

Originally from the Associated Press and re-broadcast by Yahoo. "Crackdowns reach epicenter of Wall Street protests". I like his statement, "The law that created Zuccotti Park required that it be open for the public to enjoy for passive recreation 24 hours a day," Bloomberg said. "Ever since the occupation began, that law has not been complied with, as the park has been taken over by protesters, making it unavailable to anyone else."

Did you get what he just said. This is simple property law. He said that a law created Zuccotti Park and required that the park remain open to the public 24 hours a day. Now, why was a law required to create a private park? That is strange. I know of a park in California, it is called Griffith Park. The City was given the land on the grounds that if never charged a fee for it's use. It he 80s, the City tried to charge for parking and almost had to return the park to the family of the person who dedicated it to the City. Someone should probably do some research into the title of the park and the laws that were passed. Bet the police and mayor both broke the laws.

The New York Police Department was more concerned about the poor police dressed in riot gear getting taunted. Really? Here is the quote, "Arresting people is not easy," he said, adding that he thought the officers showed great restraint in the face of "an awful lot of taunting, people getting in police officers' faces, calling them names." Wow, the NYPD showed a lot of restraint in the face of being taunted, how brave they are, those who claim "professional privilege" while illegally fixing tickets for family and friends. When people call me names I don't find it hard not to hit them with batons. What restraint, didn't we hire them for that?

People's words outlive them. The mayor's words will outlive him and his actions will define the type of person he was. He does not care about the people of New York, he does not care about the law and he is not part of the 99%, he is of the 1%. When this all began, Bloomberg more than any other mayor had a chance to show compromise. He could have said what he knew, that the financial system was corrupt and then had some of the people who benefited the most from the bubble put in jail. He did not, he arrested the people who complained about what happened.

Bloombergs Possibly Illegal Gift of Public Funds

For the past couple of months the Mayor of New York, the Billionaire named Bloomberg, has stated how the park in Wall Street that was occupied is private property. Over the last three days Occupy movements were removed from the parks in multiple locations. Now, I shall show you a lie and a crime. Mr. Bloomberg has broken the law.

Firstly, here is an article from MSNBC, "Mayors deny colluding on 'Occupy' crackdowns". It flat out admits that 11 Mayors participated in conference calls about how to deal with the Occupiers. By coincidence (I don't believe in such things) the largest groups were all taken out on the same following weekend. You might also consider the fact that some of these groups were removed using police from outside their districts, that required coordination didn't it? CNN reported that the Oakland police were joined by dozens of police from other jurisdictions, didn't that required them to coordinate with other mayors?

Now, Bloomberg has a different problem. He spent all this time saying that the park was private property, yet, immediately after the police removed people from the park, the City's Sanitation department showed up and removed articles and pressure washed the area. It is interesting to note that the Sanitation people did not wear face masks, it implies that it didn't smell. There is a real issue though, why were public employees used to clean up private property? That can only be done in two situations, one is when the property owner has allowed a nuisance on his property in which case he must be officially noticed and is responsible for the cost of clean up. The second is when a gift is made of public funds and that requires a council action and a public hearing and that was not done. Sounds like Mayor Bloomberg may have been involved in a criminal act.

Lets consider what did occur. The police "evicted" people. Where the heck is that from in the penal code. The people were trespassing, not renters. Under what authority do the police "evict" people, were those laws followed? No, therefore the law that was in place is for trespassing and they should have arrested everyone; but, they couldn't do it, it is too expensive.

By the way, because Council action is required, it cannot have been mutually agreed to by the City and the owner of the property unless there is a law specifically allowing such actions. If they attempt to claim the right under emergency powers then they will have to show that an emergency was declared.

You cannot call for lawfulness when you yourself are breaking the law. You cannot call for peace whey you yourself are beating the peaceful. I spent two hours after work with a small group discussing how we can feed as many people as possible. Apparently, Mr. Bloomberg spends his time trying to figure out how to take peoples sleeping bags and tents while very likely breaking the law. It must be nice to be a Billionaire.

I knew a Billionaire, he actually was a "job creator", he worked his way up and started as a truck driver. He liked giving people jobs and worked till he no longer could. I wish he and I could have discussed the Occupy movement with him. I liked our conversations and respected his mind. I remember a conversation we had after the crash, he had to lay some people off; but, he had the opportunity to bring some back. He called one person and offered them their job back, it paid over $40,000 a year. The person turned it down because he was making about the same on unemployment and didn't have to work. It stunned him that people could think like that.

I don't agree with people who will not work because they think a job is beneath them or because they are willing to milk the system. That is corruption and all good Republicans would be horrified by such a thing. I also do not agree with people who believe that because they have money they can take advantage of their position and don't owe something back, I don't care much for Mr. Bloomberg. "Pull up the ladder mate, I am aboard" is an old saying regarding sailors. All the sailors leave for shore leave and as one comes back he says it, not asking if everyone is aboard.

I am sick, I have a cold or flu. My throat hurts and I am cold. I hate being sick. I got home late and haven't eaten dinner yet. I decided to write before I lost my thoughts. Let me ask you a question, one of the complaints from the mayors and police was that the homeless were infiltrating the occupy encampments. The encampments were feeding them, giving them medical help and in Los Angeles, trying to get them social welfare help. The homeless turned to the protesters rather than their cities because they know the mayors and police will not help them and could care less about them. Is the complaint that the homeless were infiltrating camps that the mayors and police didn't want there or that the homeless were finally getting help?

Think about the moral corruption that goes into saying that people who are protesting corruption in government and industry are feeding the homeless and that it is a bad thing. Are the pidgeons? You should have a sign out showing your heart which says, "Do not feed the homeless", God will remember all of what happens and is continuing to go on. Shame on you Mr. Bloomberg and even more to the mayor of Oakland. It is not supposed to be about you and your control over the cities, it is supposed to be you and helping your residents, listening to their grievances and addressing them. You are supposed to be shepherds and not predators.

A Summary

I have written a number of posts about the Occupy movement by now. I find it a fascinating subject because of the reactions it has received. I find it interesting that conservatives who have always been proponents of the first amendment are taking such a negative attitude, even many liberals have taken a negative approach.

My reaction is slightly different. I think it is fantastic that the youth of this nation are participating in the political discussion rather than sitting at home playing online video games. Lets tell the truth, we are leaving them with less than we had and they don't like it. They shouldn't like it, heck, who does like it?

Is there anyone who thinks this nation is better off than it was ten years ago? Is there anyone who thinks that having millions of homes in foreclosure and millions of people unemployed is the sign of a healthy nation? How can anyone applaud the Tea Party and not applaud the Occupy movement, they are merely two sides to the same coin.

Politics has become a complete sham. The TARP bill, the stimulus bill and the Patriot act were all passed by a congress where none of the members even read the darn things. What kind of nation have we become when we no longer allow people to peacefully assemble and complain about conditions that we have to live under?

I have read too many times that some of the protesters are communists, don't they get to protest too even if I disagree with them. Didn't we used to believe that we might not agree with people; but, we would give our life for their freedom of speech?

I would hate to be a police officer right now. Their job is to protect the rest of us and instead they are being used to suppress peaceful demonstrations. Their alternative is to refuse to follow the commands of politicians that they know are corrupt and lose their jobs.

Lets say that all of the Occupy encampments are taken down, then what? Is that the end of the protests or will they merely take on another form. History says it will morph into something new, not go away. Does anyone really think that if Ron Paul gets elected anything will change? Your congress is owned by big money and lobbyists.

Consider Obama, he made all sorts of promises and nothing changed for the better. Solyandra was a joke, hundreds of millions in bad loans with nothing to show for it. Almost a trillion dollars in Tarp and stimulus money and nothing gets any better. Much of it was given to foreign banks, that is insanity.

What is the message to today's youth, our children? The message is that we messed up, you will have to work longer and get less than we did. Oh, and by the way, we don't to hear your complaints about it and there is nothing you can do about it.

I don't expect the Occupy movement or the Tea Party to change anything for quite awhile. The corruption within our political system is so ingrained that it will just continue to be more and more removed from the citizens. As the voice of the system continues to be dismissive of the citizens, it loses more and more moral authority and validity. It promotes people ignoring the laws and that will only cause a further degeneration of our whole society.

Some might think that I am overstating things; but, really, look around you, read the news. What kind of nation tolerates it's local and federal police being involved in drug running and gun running to gangs and criminal cartels? Let us consider what has happened in Italy and Greece. Their leaders passed laws that take even more from their people and then immediately leave office. Hey, that is the exact same thing George W. Bush did and you can expect Obama to do the same.

None of this is unexpected. Think tanks, such as the RAND Corporation, are tasked with predicting these things. The truth is most of us would like to see things go back to the way they were, we like comfort and stability and there is none given and none expected.
