My foot

Yesterday, I found a piece of glass in my room, I found it with the heel of my foot. I now have a one inch gash in my foot. LOL. I think I got the glass out. I washed it and pulled out the glass. I put a band aid on it and it seems to be healing without an infection. Just in case, I am soaking it in epson salt and applying Neosporin (I paid for the neosporin so there is no ethical blogging dilemma). I don't have any stock in either company and am making no claims about them, it is just the products I am using.

According to the FCC, if I had received a free sample for evaluation and posted on it's benefits without identifying that I had received a free sample, I could be fined up to $10,000. I guess if I had received a free sample in the mail, I could be at risk.

Lost

I watched the last episode of Lost online. Funny thing is that I never really followed the show. My ex watched it and I saw a couple of episodes. We used to watch "Twin Peaks" and it reminds me of that, vague, few answers and many questions. Very European.

The last episode bothered some people, it happens that way sometimes. In a nutshell, the last show explained they had all died and gone to the island to work things out that they had not finished in life. They were "saved" by knowing their soul mates.

I wish to play with that for a moment. Babies are born with half the DNA of each parent. What if, instead, when two people joined they became the new person? I do so hope that I provide the reader with questions that are intriguing and take you away from the mundane. If sex meant true, complete union, would you be more careful of who you slept with? I bet you would.

They say that when you sleep with someone, you sleep with everyone they ever slept with. Having herpes, I know this to be true; but, what if you truly became one with the person you slept with. You would be a lot more cautious about sleeping with someone.

What if when you slept with someone, you became a new being, a combination of you and your mate? A true soul mate. How would you approach relationships then? Imagine eternity alone. Imagine eternity with a soul mate. Which would you choose? If eternity with a soul mate, how would you choose?

The Devil did not make you do it.

It is Sunday so I will post about religion. There are certain verses in the bible that are rarely discussed; but, are quite intriguing.

"Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night." Revelation 12:10.

For anyone who is a Christian, they should ponder this quote. Satan accuses us day and night before God. What does he accuse us of? What of the story of Job? Satan was before God and God asked him if he had considered Job. Job, God said, was blameless and turned from evil. Satan says it is only because Job has been successful. God says, that Satan has power over all that Job has; but, cannot touch him. Why? Job loses his family, his wealth and everything; but, still turns from evil.

When you take these two verses together a picture emerges. Satan accuses us of being evil and sinful. He believes he is better than us. Less sinful, less evil. He justifies himself by comparing himself to the worst of us. The evils of this earth are not caused by Satan or God. We cause them. Man has never invented a weapon that he did eventually use.

Let us remember that Satan was the most beautiful angel. He looked down on us, he saw us as filthy. Satan, it is said, wanted to be worshipped and adored by us. Why? Why would you want to be worshipped and adored by something you looked down on? The unpardonable sin, because if you worship Satan, you hate God. Satan is one of God's angels, he loves God. He would say that he loves God more than we do. That is what he accuses us of.

It says that when we are in heaven we will worship God, it does not say he wants worship. It says he wants us to love him and each other. "Love God with all your heart and your neighbor as yourself." It does not say Worship God and love your neighbor.

If we do not love our neighbor with all our heart, we have failed. That is the one thing we humans can do that Satan does not. It says in Mathew 7:22-23 "Many will say to Me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles? And then I will declare to them, "I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness."

But, what did they fail to do? It is simple, to love one another. Power does not corrupt and absolute power does not corrupt, we are already corrupt. Power merely provides a microscope so that we can amplify our weaknesses. Most people who win the lottery waste the money and end up worse off. Few can handle the experience. They are not prepared mentally or emotionally.

Satan knows who God is. Satan does not want to be hated by God, he has read the book also. Do you think Satan wishes to spend eternity in hell? If not then why constantly accuse us before God? Why bother? If we go back to Job, Satan failed. Job continued to love God and not curse him for this foul life. The worst we can do is to follow Satan and accuse each other before God day and night.

I have talked about my ex and what she did. It is what she did. I do not wish her ill. I recognize what she did, forgive her and try to learn from it. Try to make sense of it. Forgive does not mean forget, it means remember and forgive, it means learn from. We cannot grow if we forget what have learned. That is avoidance of learning.

If the devil could make you do something, he failed. Then it is not us, it is him. Entice, deceive, threaten, use pressure, give opportunity; but, the guilt must be ours or he fails. We have to choose to be selfish, to not care about one another, to care about ourselves rather than all.

I do not mean to preach and hope I have not. I just thought a discussion of sin was timely. Be well.

Helen Keller Again

I was wondering what Helen Keller's life was like. It is said that she became blind and deaf at 18 months old. How would someone born blind and deaf know what "reality" is? How could they believe in any sentience outside of themselves? Yet, she did.

It has been said by some that they won't believe a thing until they see it with their own eyes, what if they had no eyes? Prior to learning sign language, all she knew was physical sensation. How would a scientist prove to her that she was not alone in the world?

We see a world of patterns, images, sounds, smells, sensation. Denied these "senses" that we rely on as proofs of our existence in a material world, how do we know we are in a material world? If denied these senses, does the world become less real?

Once again we will return to Descartes, "I think therefor I am". But, did Helen Keller think without words or symbols, no. I experience, I have awareness therefore I am. Yet, how much of what we perceive is truly real? Certainly not visual, we perceive but a very small amount of what can be called sight. If I put you in a isolation chamber you will have even more vivid visuals.

What if we had additional senses, what if we could truly feel what others felt? I do not ask this in a spiritual or occult way, I ask it in a philosophical manner. How would we develop and grow, what would our reality be? Our realities would be intertwined. Not the same, intertwined, connected yet apart, unique to us; but, shared completely.

I hope the readers enjoy these flights of fancy. We need to take time and look beyond what we are told, beyond the obvious. We need to look for context.

UPDATE

I am sorry, I like this train of thought. Lets play with this a bit. What if you could others minds and they could read yours; but, only if and when you let them and visa versa. What then, how would a first date go. When is too soon to get inside and allow another inside? I bet it wouldn't be as quick as sex. I'll show you mine if you show me yours would have a whole new meaning, showing each other our truths.

Can you imagine how it would transform business? Negotiations would certainly evolve. How would it effect politics, would you only vote for the person who was the most truthful? Would you let people you hate in just so they could know how much you hated them, that would risk seeing things from their perspective.

What if you truly had to feel another's pain. Would you condemn as quickly or harshly? Would you become less or more forgiving? Now examine your motives and beliefs about others. Would you judge others by their heart rather than their actions? Would you become less superficial? Who would trust you if you never let anyone else know you?

Really disturbing future tattoos

Here is an article on how LED tattoos could change the world. Basically, a think veil is applied to the skin and is eventually absorbed leaving electronics behind that can use your skin as a screen. You as a mobile billboard or painting.

You should watch the video. I found it disturbing, you may find it exciting. In either case it is worth watching.

Citizenship - I told you so

According to Time Magazine, Arizona intends to pass a bill denying birth certificates to children born in the United States whose parents are illegal immigrants. Do you like how they refer to them as "Anchor Babies". Remember, according to Clinton, citizenship is a privilege.

This comes at the same time that articles are being published saying that "minorities" are set to outnumber non-Hispanic whites in America. The timing of the actions and statements is meant to show a connection. The fact is that "whites" are having fewer children.

Divide and conquer, a very old tool. The condition in our country is not due to minorities or aliens, they did not destroy our economy or turn us into a socialist nation. Greed did that. Greed and a lack of concern over how our actions impact others. Our failure to be committed to one another.

If we as the citizens ignore the Constitution, how then can we complain when the government does the same thing? We live with the government we tolerate. We cannot pick and choose fundamentals. Citizenship, privacy, free speech, they are all fundamental. We can be a country of race or morals. The beauty of the United States was that we were a melting pot where different groups could come together, some want to move away from that perspective.

In my opinion, we need to work with each other and not against each other. Illegal aliens do not run the Federal Reserve, they did not run General Motors or the banks or the insurance companies or the drug companies. I do believe we should protect our borders. I do believe we should be allowed to remove illegal aliens from the country, they should be allowed to take their children who were born here with them if they so wish; but, you are a citizen of the country you were born in, that is fundamental.

We cannot overreact to outliers. We cannot write laws completely around anomalies nor should we fear small discrepancies or we have no consistency or fairness. When we do we end up with ridiculous laws. In Oregon it is illegal to pump your own gasoline. To many people this sounds stupid; but, it was done in response to something.

A relatively rare problem arises and we pass a law putting another warning label on a product. We cannot prevent all risk, we shouldn't try, it results in stupid laws.

And by the way, the Pilgrims were illegal aliens.

Destroying Congress from within

The Senate voted on a bill to limit the EPA's role in regulating Carbon emissions. They voted AGAINST their ability to limit the EPA. What the? A legislative body voting against their right to legislate. That is retarded, that is criminal and that is being a traitor.

It is not about the regulation. It is about the legislative body voting that they cannot legislate. What does it matter who we send to congress? The EPA needs to show by what legislation they have the right to regulate, congress does not need to vote on their own authority. This is insanity.

Ladies and gentlemen. I am sitting here sipping on a nice glass of Pinot Noir and having a cigarette while reading utter nonsense.
