How Strange Can the World Be?

Someone wrote an article questioning our ability to handle meeting aliens. It is a valid question that he raises and one that I had raised in a previous post. A separate article discusses Biocentrism. This is the theory that we are part of the evolutionary equation because we are sentient. I have also posted my thoughts on this matter although it had no name or proponents at the time. Heck, the title of my blog sums it up, you matter.

The problem I have with both of the articles, and I do think you should read them, has to do with their perspective that you are not unique or special. You are, you matter, every sentient being is unique and matters. Without sentience there is no truth, the truth truly is inside you. We may lie to ourselves about many things; but, only inside us can we find the real truth.

There are those who believe that life is nothing but a dream or a hologram (as scientists are increasingly believing). Life is neither, it is very real even if objects are not as they appear, that is not life. Life is what goes on inside our minds and our souls. Your life is your experience, that is pretty real.

I Miss My Dog

I have just returned from Nevada. I went to look at a house for a relative. A four hour drive isn't much for a guy that travels two hours to work and two hours back on a daily basis. Still, the Nevada ride seems more rushed and I am a bit tired. While in Nevada I visited my sister and left my dog with her. She has two dogs and my little puppy needs to learn to be with others.

My dog is a one and a half year old Chihuahua. He is male and he is not going to be fixed. He is also not going to be chipped. He is the bravest little idiot in the world, nothing scares this dog. Everyday when I leave for work he cries, he actually sobs. When I return he pounces on my legs to drive me up to my bedroom and he does not calm down until I take my shoes off and he knows I am staying.

My little dog sleeps with me, he loves to snuggle against my legs. When I am on the computer he lays under my chair, happy just to be with me. It is good that I do not know who had abused him, I would not like them. My problem is that he does not like other people, he doesn't trust them. He tolerates some. He does like my sister, we picked him up together and brought him calm. He likes calm, he is the perfect dog for me and I miss him. I will have him back in a week or two; but, I am lonely without him.

Sometimes we have to be apart to grow closer together. Sometimes we need to learn to be with others to be with our other. Growth requires separation. If my dog can cry when I go to work, I can certainly shed a tear when we are apart for weeks. If we do not feel the pain of separation, it is because we have failed to love.

A Nice Little Video and Song

Not long ago I read a post about a man who lost his dog, it was old and passed away. The man was very sad and this is very understandable. Dogs are just animals; but, they love us like nothing else. They love us more than they love their own kind. That is a lot of love. We need to learn to love like that. Dogs love us more than the cookies of this world, we are their cookie.

NASA Announcement Monday - 2010

Nasa has announced they have found something exceptional and will have an international media event on Monday to discuss it. The three experts who will answer questions are all astrophysicists who work on gamma rays. Should be interesting.

Stuff to do today

I have to take care of some things today, I may not post. Having said that, there is a great article on a town being attacked by turkeys. I love animal stories.

Houses

I have to look at a house for someone. There is serious talk in Washington about getting rid of the deduction for owning a house. If this occurs housing prices will drop. We are moving into a paradigm where home ownership, ownership of anything is a disadvantage. I fact, my mortgage processor told me that they have a program where they take back your house and rent it to you.

During the "Great Depression" the Rockefellers bought homes, took over the loans, and rented to the previous owners. I guess this depression isn't great but it is following the same pattern. People need to learn from history.

The next thing to go will be the tax deduction that is given to married people. I don't find that many people who believe in marriage anymore. By the way, I still do. Gotta go see a house, have a great day.

A Lovely Comment

I had posted to someone else's blog. A simple thing. I posted anonymously. They thanked me. It can matter. I had worried that my words did not fit my feelings, that they might be misread. They were not. Often my words are. I don't talk like other people, I talk like me.

It was nice to be recognized for my comment. It was nice to know that it helped. I did not leave my blogs address, I never do. My blog is not publicized, not monetized, not anything. At best it is a restroom stop in the desert. How nice. I have restroom named after me. I do. It has a plaque that only five people will see. Be well.

It's a Bird

So today we have all sorts of silly explanations regarding the missile that left California. One article says that a blogger has figured out that it was a plane and even says which plane it was. Problem is that the plane he mentions was flying to Los Angeles from Asia. Problem is that the trail isn't headed to LAX.

Oh, another problem. Both NORAD and the local radar stations were asked what it was and both denied ANYTHING being in the area. Wouldn't they have noticed a regularly scheduled plane, why did it take two days?

Now take a peak at this article on San Nicolas Island. It is in the right location and has experience sending off missiles.

Also consider that the media talked to a famous scientist who said that missiles leave straight trails. Yet, here is a picture of what was seen next to a photo of a missile launch. Neither is straight.

I really didn't want to right about the missile, I am more interested in the lie. This is like the garbage about the Norway spiral, we were told that was a missile. I grew up around aerospace, I live next to Skunk Works and Edwards Air Force Base, my family has worked in aerospace and some still do. I watched rockets being tested as a child.

I don't care why a missile or rocket was launched. I am more surprised by the lies. We are supposed to believe that a helicopter pilot doesn't know what a frickin plane contrail looks like. The Norway spiral occurred just before Obama got the peace prize in Norway. This missile goes off on the eve of the G20 in KOREA. An old political science teaching, diplomacy is war by other means.
