So the youth of England will not listen to their elders nor their authorities, nor the threats, I know bring out their heroes. Here it is. Annie Lennox says she is appalled by the riots and then a litany of "stars", heroes to the young say the same. What garbage, they will not buy it. These kids know that they mean nothing to those who have, they are looked down upon as worth less than those who know better, even those who care about them view them as losers with an excuse.

Who told them that their lives are going to get better, who told them that they matter, who told them that they deserve to be treated with dignity if they treat others with dignity, who told them that they would have a fair shot, nobody. The urban poor are told, "It is okay to be upset that you are treated like garbage; but, don't justify it by reacting." Once that doesn't work, what is the next step, what lie to tell next?

I know, I know, the average citizen is going to demand that the youth be given hope, that they be appeased, whatever it takes to restore calm and boring. Whatever it takes to make them believe that anyone cares about them, when they do not.
