Charlottesville and the Spiritual War

I don't care much for the corporate mainstream media. They tend to spin everything to manipulate opinion and emotions rather than present facts. Lets look at Charlottesville and what we do know. Firstly, there was a movement to remove a confederate monument. In response there was a rally to call for keeping it. The rally was called off by the city before it even started even though they had obtained a permit for the rally. After it was called off someone (we are being told it was a 20 year old man who had racist beliefs) drove his car into a crowd of people headed to protest the rally that had already been called off. Somewhere around 20 people were injured by the car and one has died. Two police officers also died when their helicopter crashed though we don't know what caused it to crash.

There are many valid issues raised by this event. Should we remove all evidence of slavery in America? Should we remove statues of Jefferson because he owned slaves? Should we remove all evidence of the civil war? Should we ignore the right of assembly and free speech?

Now there were people protesting to keep the statue who believe the south had a right to be it's own nation and leave the United States (that right however cannot be found in the Constitution except by amending it). Also included in this rally were a number of Neo-Nazis and Klansmen. While I personally find these groups disgusting, do they still have a right to express their support for keeping the statue?

When Black Lives Matter held protests where some called for killing cops, does that mean everyone who attended the rally's felt the same way? No, in fact the media was quick to point out that it was not the official position of the formal group. This is not much different.

We can look at all the separate issues; but, in the end it is an isolated situation. The media would like to tell you that racism is growing and that these groups are growing; but, the reality is that they are dying off and have been nothing but a joke for decades. During the early 1920s it was estimated that the Klan had up to 6 million members, today it is believed they have around 8,000 (though it has more sympathizers). Scientology has more members than the Klan today.

So what is the big picture? Well to begin with Neo-Nazi's and Klansmen did not send our jobs overseas or crash the economy. Neither did Muslim terrorists or gays or blacks or Jews or people who believe that abortion is a right. The biggest problem in this country is the lack of opportunity for the middle class and working class. Racism is real and still continues; but, to view it as the cause of all our problems is merely an attempt to distract from the actual problems themselves. The truth is there are many more homeless people than there are members of the Klan.

Now, here is the real issue and battle. It is spiritual. The bible says that Satan accuses us day and night before God. What do you think he accuses us of? Jesus said that the most important commandment was to love God with all our heart and our neighbor as ourselves. Satan accuses us of not doing that.

Prohibiting people from saying what they believe is slavery. Stopping free speech is to promote slavery. It used to be illegal to teach slaves to read and write. The English made it illegal to speak Gaelic (Irish language) in Ireland when the British ruled us all. Prohibiting women from controlling their bodies, even when pregnant, is slavery. Prohibiting Nazi's from speaking is slavery. Slavery is wrong, no matter what the excuse. You cannot imprison beliefs.

Mans most basic sin is trying to enslave others and thinking they are better than others. You can be stronger, smarter and more educated and it still does not make you better. If you cut me, do I not bleed? Sorry Shakespeare, I steal good thoughts. We do not have to act on every thought we have and can control our actions. Thoughts are merely emotions put to words and cannot be controlled.

UPDATE:

By the way, MSN - Tribune News Service - Rights leaders ask Trump to fire 'alt-right' hero Bannon. The interesting statement in the article is, "Religious and civil rights leaders called on President Donald Trump to fire White House advisers Steve Bannon and Sebastian Gorka, whose association with the white-supremacist "alt-right" movement has come under heightened scrutiny after Saturday's violent clash in Charlottesville, Va."  The article says that "alt right" and "white supremacist" are the same thing.  Does this mean that if you don't believe that color matters then you are not alt right? If you believe in border control; but, don't care about which race is the best than you are not alt right according to the writer of the article. If you believe in border control do you have to be a homophobe? Not according to the articles writer. He missed the talking points. I used to preach to Hispanic gays that did not feel comfortable around transgenders and they were far from alt right. Most were here as refugees from places where they would be killed for being gay. Bigotry is when you think you know everything about someone because of one belief they have or one characteristic they share.
