So I intentionally went out and bought a laptop with a camera and microphone. My desktop that I write the blog from intentionally has neither. My intent is to post videos on YouTube which have my voice and either a steady photo or video clips to view. I think I have written before that the number one thing I look for in a woman is poor eyesight so you can guess why I did not want to use a camera on my face. It is proving to be much more difficult than I imagined. In either case, I will figure it out and will be moving to YouTube in the future. PLEASE, let me know how you feel about my moving to YouTube. I have been doing this blog for 10 years and see the writing on the wall. I am approaching 150,000 hits and average a couple thousand a month; but, there are no new people coming to Blogger and it is dying. I promised that I would not delete the posts about Pastor Carol Daniels and I will not. I don't think I will delete the blog; but, if I am to be heard, I think I need to change platforms.
In the course of preparing to make my first video I was going to insert some of my own drawings. I apparently did not save the drawing to this computer so I went through all of my posts as I knew I had posted it on this blog. Wow. I cannot believe how many videos I have linked to have been deleted. I posted a video where I talked about why I didn't like Alex Jones and the video was gone. He has been deleted from all social media. I found others that had been deleted; but, I never actually upload videos to the blog, I merely link to them as is how Blogger works. With Jones I found my complaints about him; but, not the video I commented on. This weakens the effectiveness of what I said about him in my opinion. How can you trust comments on things that happened in the past if you cannot see and read them. I always try and includes source documents as my readers know.
When writing began, it was done on clay tablets that have survived for thousands of years because they are physical. The printing press brought us multiple copies of what was written and they were on paper which lasts less long. Television was even more immediate and available; but, few shows were recorded in the 50s and were live so no copies exist. VHS allowed us to copy television shows; but, tapes only last so long. The internet is universal; but, you can be deleted in a moment. Alex Jones has been deleted. Whether what he said was good or not is somewhat irrelevant, he has shown the temporary nature of todays conversations. In 20 years it could be as if he never was on the internet. That is a rewriting of history, that is what we warned of by Ray Bradbury in Fahrenheit 441.
We have seen in the past the attempt to eliminate history. Consider the burning of the Library of Alexandria, how much was lost? I am sure much of what was lost was stupid thoughts, flat earthers and perverts were included in the library. Problem is we will never know what knowledge or beliefs existed in the past and I assure you that is the purpose. ISIS likes to destroy pre-Koran history, tyrants always do.
A number of years ago, during my divorce, I was prone to getting drunk and rambling on line, I also said some really good stuff; but, sometimes it was all too much and I could be nasty. I was kicked off a social media site for such activity, it was heavily moderated and I was friends with the owner. I was kicked off for complaining about someone who posted a picture of a kid, the site was not for children and I was concerned. I was not a moderator and I went after the guy that posted the picture hard. It was not an obscene picture, it just didn't belong on the site. I was kicked off and then he was kicked off, turned out I was right and the guy was a pervert. Still, I was not a moderator and had violated the terms of service, I knew it when I did it. I also knew I had to do it because nobody else noticed till after we were both gone that there were bigger issues at stake. I had no complaint because it was NOT a public forum, it was not open to the public, it was of limited scope and issues. We don't use them much anymore but the internet began with what we used to call Bulletin Board Systems, private small communities that grouped around special interests. I was one of the first million people on the internet, I have seen the changes. I don't know if everything I had ever written was deleted from that site; but, if so, they deleted their history too.
I was also removed from a social media site that is fairly big; but, again not a giant. The second site was "Above Top Secret", I caught them lying and cheating their readers. I caught their moderators using multiple accounts to create the illusion that they were different users. Oops. To be truthful, I caught them lying, told them so and that I was leaving the site, they told me not to come back. When I left the first site mentioned in the prior paragraph I was offered to return but told that I would have each post approved in advance before it was posted. I declined and started this blog. I love the owner of the first site and spent time with her and many others on the site; but, my heart says we are not having a conversation if I can be edited before being read. It is an issue in law that we call "prior restraint".
If I were to post that someone should be killed or post that they were cheating on their spouse, I could be sued or jailed; but, should my post be removed for eternity? Should we burn all copies of Hitler's autobiography? Mark Twain (one of the most famous in history) wrote about the pre-civil war south and "Nigger Joe", should his books be burned as if those were never said? How can we discuss the evolution of bigotry in the United States if we do?
Now, let explain where this is going. Everything ever put on the internet is recorded and kept by the government. Everything. There was a website and may still be called "The Wayback Machine" that used to allow you to go and see websites that no longer existed. I doubt they have everything anymore, few could afford to keep everything except the government. We don't have access to the government records; but, they do. The government can allow some to view the past and keep it from the rest of us. Who shall have access to it and what advantage will it give them in dealing with us. Knowledge is power they say and we blithely accept censorship for us, not all.
The advantage the Devil has over us is that he has been around a very long time and knows what has been said and written and is no longer available. The same is true for the oligarchs that run this world, this is why they spend so much on books and art that we will never see and is not publicly available, this is why we have secret societies and limited access groups.
There is a truism I learned, it is that he who does not learn from history is bound to repeat it. Your owners do not wish you to learn from history, they want you to repeat it, that is how they stay in charge.
