The Media on the Nevada Caucus
It is February 23rd and the Nevada Caucuses are supposed to close in 12 minutes. I have been watching the news channels live streams on YouTube and it is hilarious. The Young Turks have stopped their show's live stream because they said Trump is going to win by a landslide and there is no point in following the count. Fox has been busy saying that what really matters is who comes in second and arguing over who should leave the race so that the one left can beat Trump. Not one vote has been counted yet and they all know who is going to win.

The Wealthy Hate Trump and Sanders Because They Care About Americans
The Seattle Times - Trump’s warning about Boeing jobs dismissed by experts. Donald Trump had told the people in South Carolina that Boeing was building a major aircraft plant in China and that he believes they will begin moving more jobs there. The big newspaper in Seattle, the home of Boeing, says he doesn't understand their industry and that it is too technical. Wait, Steve Jobs said Americans are too stupid to manufacture his phones; but, this article claims they are technical enough to build planes. Trump is probably right.
Huffington Post - Wall Street's Message to Young Adults: 'You Are Clueless'. Wall Street thinks young people should not vote for Bernie Sanders and thinks they are dumb for wanting to. What particularly bothers them is that Sanders and the younger voters are forcing Hillary Clinton to talk more about income inequality. The Wall Street Journal article even admits that the United States is expected to lose 75 million jobs in the next twenty years. Here is the question, what should young people do to protect themselves from the day when robots are doing most of the work? They know that their future is being destroyed by technology and globalism, they were the first to point it out.
Here is the choice. After the jobs are gone, this country will either look like a South American Right Wing totalitarian country or a Scandinavian Social Democracy. What it will not be is the country that we knew because manufacturing will be gone and not everyone can be an engineer or scientist. The reason you are seeing the changers that we are is because the wealthy are preparing for the day when they don't need workers or in fact the majority of our citizens.

Is Wisconsin the State of Imbeciles?
New York Times - Gov. Walker Resumes His War on Workers. So Wisconsin is eliminating all civil service protection for state workers. Good luck with that Wisconsin. Ignorance is bliss but it only lasts so long. No longer will people have to take tests to get a government job and they can be fired by the next Governor for no reason. Hey, I know history, I know how this worked in the past. Each time a new mayor or governor was elected they would fire all of the present employees and replace them with their supporters, that is why we created civil service.
The Republican party has been the anti-progressive party for the past 30 years. They have deregulated most industries and given them tax breaks for outsourcing and they are attacking Social Security, pensions and civil service. It was under Bush where competitive bids for contracts was reduced so that Halliburton could get billions in contracts. Halliburton supplies the military with it's supplies and moved it's headquarters to Dubai after getting the contracts from us. The reason all these things are connected is because they are all destined to eliminate protections that were put in place in the early 1900s. The same protections made for the rise of the middle class.
It is said that those who forget history are forced to repeat it's mistakes. I disagree partly, people choose to ignore history because they are insane and believe that by continually doing the same thing that failed in the past, eventually they will be successful. The insistence on doing two contrary things and expecting them to not conflict is insanity defined. You cannot have your cake and eat it too. Paths diverge and eventually you have to choose one or just stay where you are. Wisconsin as a state has chosen to try to replicate what they did in the 1800s and failed. Good luck with that.

Make Corporate Tax Breals Based On American Jobs
Here is a thought. What if companies got tax breaks based on the percentage of their workforce that was Americans. If General Motors outsources 50% of it's jobs overseas then whatever they qualify for in tax deductions would be reduced by 50% of the total amount deductible. Lets reserve tax breaks for people who invest in Americans. Think about it.

The Slatest - Sanders Is Delusional if He Thinks He Can Keep His Promise on Mass Incarceration. Read the title, it sounds like Sanders wants to jail more people, nope, he wants to jail less people. He wants to jail violent criminals, not those who hurt themselves like hookers or junkies. The article proposes that it is impossible to jail fewer people in America. Consider that we jail a higher percentage of our population than other countries including China. Read the article and see why we "cannot" jail fewer of us. 80,000 Hits and Stuff
Sometime today this blog will hit 80,000 visits. Wow. No advertising, no outreach and yet, here I am. In the near future, it will probably go over 100,000 hits.
Now to the news. Justice Scalia has died. His closest friend on the Supreme Court was Ginsberg. Many consider him to have been a conservative and she to be a liberal, those perspectives are naive and wrong. Within moments of his death Republican politicians and pundits began questioning the right of the president to nominate his replacement. It is his job to nominate the replacement. To see Republicans say that congress should not do their job and approve a valid candidate is to spit on the Constitution.
I know who Obama should nominate to the Supreme Court, he should nominate Laurence Tribe. Mr. Tribe is considered the best constitutional law expert in the nation. He taught Cruz and was the legal advisor to Obama. There is nobody who could argue that he is unqualified or ignorant. Neither politicians nor the public understand what the Supreme Court's job is and they don't want to. That is why justices are not voted on. It is the only one of the three branches where the founding fathers thought political opinions should not be part of the conversation.

Insulting Voters
I have already written about this once and did not intend to do it again. After Trump won New Hampshire the media attacked the people who voted for him as racist, xenophobic and ignorant, the were call zombies and idiots. The voters were insulted by the popular media. Love Trump or hate him, I don't care, I am for Sanders; but, don't insult Democracy. If you insult voters for being them, then you don't believe in Democracy, you believe you know better than everyone else. That is anti democratic. Who should we believe in or can we trust in the majority?
