As a rule I am very cautious about allowing comments that identify specific people as being suspects in the murder of Pastor Daniels. While I have a legal background and some formal training in criminal investigations, I am not nor have I ever been involved in police work and have no interest in it as a career. I do not believe that this blog will in anyway lead to the arrest or conviction of the murderer in the Pastor Daniels case and do not write about crimes usually unless they involve financial crimes and I can back up what I say.
Having said all of the above, I have just received some comments from my original post that I believe are worthy of being repeated. The short of the comments was that there was a serial killer in Alaska who would travel to other parts of the country and had some tendencies that fit with some of the things that happened in the Pastor Daniels case. I had never heard of this person and did a quick check to make sure that he deserves to be considered and he does. In addition, he is dead so he is not being defamed by being considered. Now, I have always believed that the killer was from Anandarko; but, Mr. Keyes could be the type of person who could have planned it while driving through town based on his history. I will watch the video and read the articles and come back with my opinions.
UPDATE:
I want to thank the people at WebSleuths for taking an interest in this case and I know with my heart that the family of Pastor Daniels will also appreciate their efforts. As this blog is not a crime solving blog, I have not reported some of the more graphic details; but, I have read the autopsy report online. I have received a few views and comments from people who are members of the WebSleuth site over they years and have found them to be concerned and courteous. For members of that site that visit my poor little blog, I send my best wishes. I do not usually provide links to other sites which discuss the case because many of them degraded into Christians attacking Atheists or Atheists attacking Christians, I find the WebSleuth site to be better than many of the others and yes, I have visited the site in the past to see if there were any updates.
After receiving the most recent comments, I started this post and then paused as I was going to dinner with the leader of the church that I preach at and didn't have time to go and read the links that were provided to me before dinner, so, I came back and read them all. I am posting these comments as I do know that Pastor Daniels family has read my blog in the past and I also know that the Oklahoma Bureau of Investigation knows about this blog. I believe the issues raised by Foxfire deserve to be considered and found many of the details interesting.
Of particular interest was the Mr. Keyes going to far away places to commit the murders, his use of chemicals, his use of a knife, his arson and his following natural disasters. While I find Mr. Keyes worthy of consideration, I have to remind myself of a couple of things. Firstly, for years Zodiac Killer researchers openly stated that the Zodiac was a man named Arthur Leigh Allen and the evidence was all circumstantial. By the time the DNA evidence was analyzed it showed it was not him (same for the palm print). Secondly, nobody believed BTK was still alive when he resurfaced and all 40 years of profiling by the FBI was all wrong.
Here is what I believe. I believe that crimes are not solved by understanding motive, I believe they are solved based on evidence. In the case of Pastor Daniels we are talking about a very small town in the middle of nowhere. While there is a casino on the road, it is also very small and miles away. Why do I mention this. Well there are some very small towns (like Baker California) that are on the road to Las Vegas and because of that are constantly being driven through by hundreds of thousands of people, I don't believe that is true for Anandarko. I find it hard to believe; but, not impossible, that the killer was from outside the area. Having said that, the case cited by Foxfire could just be that exception and deserves being considered.
The well being of the Daniels family is always on my mind when I post about her, in fact it is my priority. I don't see my blog as contributing to solving the crime and do know that the OSBI has put a cold case expert on the case, they have not forgotten and care. I don't expect them to release all the information that they have and understand that. The issue is not figuring out who did it, it is in proving it and getting a conviction.
UPDATE 2:
Nope, I have thought about it and Mr Keyes is an unlikely candidate. One of the problems begins with the 38 Police Special. Pastor Daniels killer used a knife exclusively that we know of, no shots were fired. It would be very difficult to hold a gun in one hand and kill someone who showed defensive wounds with a knife in the other hand while they were screaming in pain. The gun found after the arson in Anadarko is not related to the killing and I am not even convinced that the fire is related. The biggest problem is how Mr. Keyes would have known that the church Pastor Daniels was at would be empty on that day, on a Sunday. He couldn't know that just from driving through town once. The person who killed Pastor Daniels had been inside that church and knew that it was very possible that nobody would be inside other than Pastor Daniels.

38 cal firearm - IK's dad gave him a 38 when he was 14 years old and he used it only as a backup. IK had two tatoos; a pentagram & an upside down cross. IK detested Christianity..
IK would likely have responded to Anardarko after the May 19,2009 tornadoes to repair storm damaged structures which would have possibly placed him in the area for up to 3 months.

FYI- A fire was set in Pastor Carol Daniels murder but self extinguished.
Israel Keyes, revealed to FBI investigators prior to the Currier Murders(Burlington, VT-06/08/2011) that he had considered taking victims to a church, where he would either simply leave the body to be found, or to burn the church down with the victim's body in it. IK, drove around in Vermont, looking for suitable churches in small towns.

I truly believe Mr. Keyes is worthy of being investigated and the similarities that you and yours have raised are the best I have seen. I also know that the case has not been forgotten by the OSBI and that they recently put an experienced cold case detective on the case and I was aware of the reports that they had traveled to Chicago to do some interviews.
My questions about the killer all come down to opportunity, the one thing we can know. MOs can be copied and motives can often be varied; but, opportunity can be a filter that narrows the search.
Using Google Earth, Google streetscape and information from people in the area has led me to conclude that the person who committed the crime lived close by. As Pastor Daniels only showed up in Anadarko on Sundays, someone would need multiple Sundays to watch and know that the church would be alone.
Here is one of my questions, which would raise more suspicion, breaking into the back door which could be viewed from the Gas station, neighboring homes and the Police station or walking in the open front door? Two, how did the person know that the front door could be seen by a camera?
These are very risky actions unless you know you will not be seen or heard. BTK also took one of his victims to a church; but, did it when he knew the church would not have visitors and he had keys to the church and could legally be there off hours. It is quite a different risk to kill a pastor during church services on a Sunday then to dump a body at a church. Still, IK is the most interesting candidate that I have read about.

Pimpermel, the updated timeline released by the FBI places IK in an adjacent state to OK when Pastor Daniels' murder occurred. I will have to go back and retrieve the link and post it in a future comment.
Robert Robinson; the witness that saw the perp leave the church said that he had warned Pastor Daniels about a stalker. If my memory serves me, he also said that the perp was wearing a hooded jacket and ski mask. IK, wore both of these items during bank robberies and attacks of victims.

IK crossed the threshold from fantasy to dark reality during his teenage years. IK had honed his skills over the years before his capture at age 34. IK would stalk his victims, recon the area, and was very aware of security camera locations, etc. IK was very brazen, and like BTK, enjoyed the adrenalin rush of the hunt even more than the kill. The church location between the two police departments would have presented a welcomed challenge to IK..
Pimpemel, imo, there is a spiritual connection to all homicide cases and I am a firm believer that the victims will speak to those who will listen..

Robert Robinson lied. He is the man that claimed he saw a person leave the church covered in blood in order to get fed by a news crew and it took him around 11 days to even come forward. Also, the camera did not pick up anyone leaving the church and the police took the rear door. The killer entered and left through the back door. I should also note that while Pastor Daniels always kept the front door open, it was locked when her two elderly members showed up.
For years the Kansas police and FBI believed that BTK was Hispanic, because they were told that there was a Hispanic in the area. There was, it was Mr. Otero who was one of the first victims.
Mr. Robinson claimed that the killer emerged from the front of the church and casually walked away, one block away from a police station and on a main road in a small town in broad daylight.
Unless IK was completely and idiot and reckless he would never break in through a front door before Pastor Daniels arrived at the church. If he had broken in through the front door then it would not have been locked as reported by the two elderly church members.
I truly appreciate your bringing this issue to everyone's attention and truly believe you care and that it should be investigated. Having said that, I am still under the impression that the killer was much more familiar with the church and knew that the elderly couple could come by at any moment as it was time for services.
I was wrong about something and you just made me think about it. If you were going to kill someone in a church with two doors and you entered through the back door, where would you hide? You would want to close the front door as quickly as possible so that passerbys and the police driving by would not see or hear what was going on. You would hide behind the front door and close it as soon as the Pastor entered the room and then attack.

Pimpernel, he may have lied, and I understand that eye witnesses are the least reliable sources of evidence in investigations. Especially ones that are inebriated. However, Mr. R's explanation of the events that day seem very plausible to me. A free meal to an alcoholic is not at the top of their priority list of needs. Mr. R, likely had spent many days in the clinker and would not have been on the best of terms with police, nor would he trust them. The last known person to see a homicide victim alive, is the primary suspect in the murder investigation...
If Pastor Daniels normally left the church's front door unlocked and it was locked when her two elderly members showed up. Then it would be reasonable to conclude that the perp locked it.
IK, was somewhat nocturnal and would have likely entered the Church under the cloak of darkness. I can't explain the lack of video footage of the security camera except to say that IK was considered to be a very calculating & cagey Stealth Predator. IK was actively hunting his prey and committing brazen bank robberies and murders all across the USA for over a decade and half, yet was not on the FBI BAU2 VICAP radar either. Long gone are the days of Roger L. Depue, John Douglas, and Robert Ressler, imo..

Baton Rouge, LA PD & FBI thought serial killer Derrick Todd Lee was caucasian due to eyewitness accounts, although it was known due to DNA residue that he was african american. While investigating DTL, the Task Force ran across another unknown active BR, LA, serial killer; Sean Vincent Gillis; caucasian male.
There are many serial killer myths. The ethnicity of serial killers in the US is directly proportional to the population.

Pimpermel, very likely how it went down.. If disturbed by arriving parishioners that tragic day, they would have knocked on the door and IK could have easily exited through the side door or claimed more victims. IK also wore a backpack which contained his kill kit..
