Don't jump to conclusions
An article about Bell City politicians, thievery and the Jewish mob. There will be more of these stories. Other cities including Los Angeles. Do not blame the jews for all of our problems. Mafia is mafia and the mafia in Los Angeles was always the jewish mafia, never the Italians.
Surreal Fire
Dear readers, I can see the red sun, I can smell the smoke. The Crown Valley Fire is just south of me. I left this morning to go a few hours away to meet with a business associate, when I left the fire was further away. When I returned the whole sky was orange with smoke.
I have been through fires before. I stood on a roof during the Simi Valley one block away from the fire and managed to help get some horses out of the area. I have driven through a fire in the hills around Los Angeles. This fire is different somehow. I didn't expect it to make it to where it did.
I gassed up my car when I got back today. I figure if the smoke becomes too hard on me I will just go to Palm Springs or Las Vegas. Our fire fighters are doing a good job and we do appreciate them. Let us pray that none of them gets hurt.

DRAT, another article
Okay, so someone data mined Facebook and posted all the information where it could be seen and linked to other personal information. To develop relationships of trust, ones in which we speak freely, people must respect your trust. Facebook is a whore because they made changes to your privacy without telling you in advance, they did not respect their relationship with you.
Part of the issue is unilateral versus consent. Informed consent. The ex gave her boyfriend my personal e-mails and then told me nothing I said was private. She used my trust in her against me. She told me that our conversations were private and then made them public, actually worse, she gave them to her boyfriend.
I hired someone from another department, he is dead now; but, never forgotten. I hired a second person from another department. I told them both the same thing. I will never ask for information about your department that was given in confidence and I expect that you will never give confidential information about my department to others.
People tell me things, some in confidence and some in the hope that I will release the information. I try to find out what their intent is. I try and act as a filter with integrity. I am imperfect; but, I try. There are many things that I have not posted. There are many secrets that were given in confidence that I have not posted. I respect that trust I was given and that mine was respected, it is about mutuality. Even though my ex-wife treats nothing I have said with privacy (her words), I still respect hers. I may get angry at times; but, I will not post her name, nor mine.
Facebook does not respect it's relationship with you. It does not consider anything you post as private. Someone recently stalked the founder of Facebook and attempted to say that because he did not respect privacy they wanted to see how he felt about disrespecting his privacy. I disagree, we cannot promote privacy by violating privacy. Pretty much my problem with Assange and Wikileaks.

God has other plans
I had not intended to write again tonight because of the bronchitis. Problem is, there is a great article about Wikileaks and it dovetails with my last post. The article discusses how Wikileaks publication of certain government documents regarding the war was criminal.
Wikileaks left the names of hundreds of informants on some documents. There is a very real chance that these people will be killed. The documents were leaked to Mr. Assange or stripped from the web. If they had been leaked to the Afghans we are fighting then that would be traitorous for an American. Mr. Assange is not an American. The release of the documents may make him an enemy. If I release a foreign nations secret documents it is spying.
Somethings are private and somethings are state protected. If I beat my child and break a bone, it should be known. What is rightfully private and what it means to release such information is the line we must understand. The ex gave her boyfriend some of my e-mails to her, they were private and she knew they were just meant for her. She informed me that nothing I ever said to her was private although together 27 years.
The issue is the same in both examples. When do we have a duty to keep things private and when do we have a duty to investigate and possibly report? I believe it depends on the level of trust and the intimacy or risk of harm. I would respect Mr. Assange more if he had either left out the names or took a position in favor of the Afghans insurgents. I can respect releasing our information if he is willing to be treated as the enemy. If he wished to be a reporter then he should have erased ALL the names excluding the President of other elected officials. We have a right to know their decisions.
We have done some bad things in Iraq and Afghanistan, these things should be known; but, not the names. Our need to know and our right to know is so that we can decide as a nation if we want to be in these wars and if we are doing things in the right manner. We don't need the names of the informants to make these decisions unless they are officials.

Blogger Suits
Here is the story. A black woman who was in the Department of Agriculture, specifically the Director of Rural Development in Georgia, had been filmed talking about how she had not helped someone as much as she should have because he was white. The video was shown by a blogger. She then was let go by the Obama Administration very quickly.
A few days pass and she states how her speech was taken out of context because she was talking about how she was wrong to have done what she did and that she eventually ended up friends with the farmer and saved his farm. A few more days pass and she is offered a different and better job; but, she doesn't take it yet. A few more days pass and she decides to sue the blogger.
You are being led, the media is being used to manipulate you. The complaint she is making is that bloggers are dangerous, that we don't give all the facts and should be regulated. I have been talking about these issues because it is an attack on free speech.
Firstly, free speech means people will not give all the facts it is impossible. Secondly, she gave the speech in public and he showed part of it, the news always only shows clips. Thirdly, she admitted to having misused her position, it does not matter that they kept their farm. It also does not matter that she changed. Those things may speak well of her willingness to grow and learn, heck I hope we learn and grow cause we don't start out knowing it all. It is admirable that she had the courage to admit that she had been unfair in the past, she did not have to. The issue the blogger, it says, was addressing was that racisim exists on all sides and within the NAACP. The blogger should have shown the whole video and explained that she had changed; but, it is not a requirement and should not be.
I intentionally do not edit my source documents, I intentionally tell people to read the source documents and provide links. I then attempt to discuss aspects of what I have read. I am more interested in getting people to consider things than in leading people to a conclusion. By providing source documents the reader is encouraged to investigate for themselves. That does not mean that I should not be allowed to take positions and just show the parts that favor my position. My approach is my approach, others should have the freedom to approach things differently, nobody is all knowing or perfect and the truth is not owned by the mass media, we are all entitled to our opinion.
We must be careful not to slander others in public. IN PUBLIC. I do not cuss on my blog because it is public. It is not a question of privacy versus control, we do not have to choose between the two. Yes, because the internet is anonymous we do see people write some very false and obscene things. We should not regulate what is said on the net anymore than in the newspapers. This creates a problem, children do not know what appropriate limits are. Neither do many adults because they never had to address the issues before. Newspapers did have to worry about libel.
If people are allowed to publish anything, and the internet is publishing, they can seriously harm others. It is one thing to tell a friend that your ex is a whore, it is quite another to tell their boss (no my ex is not a prostitute, not about my ex) or to publish it. The possible consequences are vastly different. In casual conversation we do not choose our words precisely and people have a tendency to use the internet the same way. Many people who do not write for a living do not understand the difference. Yet, anyone can publish on the internet.
People get mad, we get angry and say things in private with people we know that are not meant to go beyond them. We do say things that are venting. Not long ago my "son in law" posted a comment on this blog. He said some very hurtful things even though I have done more for him than he recognizes. He posted to me, he did not plan for the world to view it, at least I do not think so. I removed my post and everybody's comments. I removed it because it was too public, I had wished that he had spoken to me directly so that we could have a complete conversation, the blog was not the place for it.
On a few occasions one of my friends has commented on posts and left names, when I notice this I remove the comments and post. I don't want to identify people, I moderate the comments because I care about privacy. If somebody chooses to use their real name as their screen name, that is their choice. I want people to speak freely, within the legal bounds and have privacy at the same time. If people choose not to be anonymous, that is their choice and I respect it. But I want us to have choices. And I have the choice of how I manage my blog.
On a side note, I was needed somewhere and had to stop in the middle of this post, actually towards the end. I have had pneumonia twice, both times I failed to take care of it in a timely manner. I sometimes suffer from bronchitis as a consequence. Today the sky is filled with smoke and ash, the ash dusted my car. I had a short episode of bronchitis and had to finish this quickly. My apologies, I am sure privacy and blogging will be in the news again and I will comment.

Manipulation
Machiavelli was very good at explaining things. Manipulation of the masses is very old. The City of Bell is being used to manipulate you. The salaries of the City Manager, Council members and Police Chief were ridiculously high for a small city. Having said that, people knew before now. The real intent in having allowed it and exposing it now is to cap pensions and pay for civil servants. Consider the timing.
The Future, the CIA and Google
A nice article on how Google is working with the CIA to predict how you will act. I must add that one of our readers had caught this before me and sent a link to the companies website.
I Phony
Great news article from the Associated Press on how the applications on your smart phone are giving all of your data and search history to others. Do you think privacy is overrated?

Cap and Slave, errrr Trade
California, New Mexico and three Canadian provinces to jointly have a cap and trade program. Regionalism, isn't it nice?
News sites to require personal information of posters
Interesting article from CNN on how news websites are beginning to require people use their real names and provide personal information to post. You watch, one day they are going to require the same for bloggers. That will have a chilling effect on free speech.
Readers of my blog know that I don't cuss on the site nor allow others to. In person I cuss every other word. I also attempt to keep the discussion civil and readable by anyone. I see the outrageous things said on news sites, I have read the racial and gender attacks. Bomb this and kill that type of conversations. I believe it is the job of the website to manage itself by deleting or refusing inappropriate posts. Every comment left on my site is reviewed first. I made a mistake in the beginning and some got by me, I changed the settings.
I allow people to post anonymously because I want people to discuss whatever they want. We have to balance these things. The press is becoming oppressive. They want to regain their control over the news. While a few of the people who follow this blog know me personally, the others do not. Because of this I am able to speak more freely about anything. The vast majority of readers will not know the people I discuss.
I have talked about my ex-wife. The people I know saw what happened, my writing about it doesn't change their opinion. I would not want people who knew her; but, did not know me or what occurred to have an opinion on her. Our examples come from our life, if we are discussing what we learned from them and that is the issue then the reader does not need to know who the parties were.
If I told you that the ex was Demi Moore and that I was Bruce Willis (I am not but do have the same hair) the point of the blog would be lost. It is about issues and not personalities. MySpace is all about personalities and not issues. We don't want to see news commentary revert to MySpace levels.
Privacy a place.

Some stuff
Five people hold keys that would allow them to restart the whole internet if it ever crashed completely. The five people from around the world would meet at a United States Military base to do it.
Hey wait a second, does that mean that the U.S. Military holds the key to all of the web? Makes sense.

You will work for the government
HR 5741 a new bill in congress will require everyone to do two years of service to the government. The government demanding you do what it tells you. The government of forced service.
This goes back to the statements that Obama and others made saying citizenship is a privledge and not a right.

More Food Police
When does concern become tyranny? When does help become control? Rights come from responsibility. I have the right to control my child because I am responsible for their well being and up until they have learned certain things they are incapable of informed consent as they do not understand the consequences of their actions.
We allow the government to regulate food because we cannot know ourselves if the food was properly grown or if it is a danger to us. Having said that, we can knowingly choose to eat things that have side effects like foods high in cholesterol or fat. Some people choose to eat unprocessed or raw milk. It is illegal in many places to sell it. People who choose to eat such things understand the risk. Preventing them from doing so is tyranny.
People are also seriously beginning to discuss having an obesity tax, following how we tax cigarettes. We will tax bad things so that you will do good things. The true tyranny is of the masses, democracy can still be tyranny if used to regulate private matters.
I smoke cigarettes everyday. It is not a good habit; but, I choose to smoke. I know what it can do, my father smoked and lost a lung to cancer. Smoking has been so regulated that it is tyranny. Overweight people often support this tyranny. When they go to tax obesity I will not support it even though I am regulated. Many smokers will support it to get back at society for regulating them. The "If you regulate me then you should get these other bad habits" type of mentality is wrong. We don't become freer by regulating others.
The government is NOT responsible for me beyond being responsible for keeping other countries from controlling our lives, protecting us from those we do not wish to live under. If we give the government that responsibility, it's rights are limited to what it needs to do to fulfill that obligation.
We are becoming a society that wants government to protect us from every little thing and assure us safety, I do not. I do not wish nor want the government to protect me from everything, it cannot assure our safety, we were born to die and risk is necessary if we are to grow. Taking chances, knowing the possible risks and consequences is how we grow and learn.
What value would life have if we remained children and never got past our childish ways of looking at the world? Little if any. What good is there in being a baby sucking on it's mothers nipple for eternity? What is the difference between being a parasite and being in a symbiotic relationship? It is what you give back.

Russian Spies Again
Nifty little article about the Russian spies. Items to note, they sand "Soviet" songs with Putin, not Russian songs. Soviet songs means communist era songs. Next thing to note, penalties for those who betrayed them. That means other Russian spies gave them up. And the penalty is, "The special services live under their own laws and everyone knows what these laws are."
I will explain it very simply. Intelligence agents have more respect for their opponents than they do for traitors. Intelligence field agents have absolutely no fear, they risk everything for their home countries. There are rules; but, the rules apply to those who choose to participate and the rules are harsh. You can never retire and it is all or nothing and they never expect to get recognition it is all done for a belief.

How we teach the wrong lessons
Kindergarten through 12th grade, two years for my AA, two more years for my BS and three more years for my JD, that is 20 years of propaganda and school. I have always hated school. I worked from age 12 forward while being in school. I hated school much more than working and I have had to work for 38 years.
I equate school with a torture chamber. That is how it felt. The downside of Asperger's. Two problems with school, we are asked to get our social indoctrination from all children and one authority figure. What is wrong with this picture? We are taught about life, we are trained to respond to commands and what to think. I was not a good student.
It used to be that children learned at home and from family and friends. When I have a new trainee, I teach by asking questions. I give answers on occasion; but, ask questions first. It is about the answers, it is about learning what questions to ask yourself. That is learning. It is learning to analyze the world. Learning the answers is the boring part.
We teach children to find the answers as if it were some Easter egg hunt. We never know the answers completely. Most teachers disliked having me in their class, a few very special ones enjoyed mentoring me. One taught me Spanish, one taught me Stage (he passed away very young not long after, he was an example of a good man to me), one taught me wood working (he was a World War II vet and had a great perspective on life), one taught English (she was very slightly deformed and had a heart that was so deep and loving a truly gentle soul), one taught me Constitutional Law (he was one of the objective people I have ever known a true lover of truth). There were others, a few. The others just wanted me to accept what they told me, that was fairly unlikely.
Answers are so boring, they so kill the chase. School should be a game. The whole thing should be a game, we should be teaching people the joy of playing together in search of solutions. Instead we teach them to follow orders, be quiet and listen and compete. I have so many bad school stories it is ridiculous. I will tell one.
I was in a class, it was probably 1977. The class was on Women's Studies, it was the 70s and the time of the "Woman's Movement". I knew the teacher and had classes with her before. On the first day she wanted to make some point. She said that most people couldn't name 15 famous women in history. She gave us five minutes to write as many names of famous women as we could. I listed about 104.
After the five minutes she asked how many each person listed by groups. My hand stayed up the longest, she asked how many I listed, I told her. She snickered and asked me to read the list, in disbelief. I began down the list, I had listed actresses, queens, historical figures, I then said Matoaka. She thought I had made the name up and asked me who it was, I explained that it was Pocahontas' real name, She angrily told me to leave the class and go the principals office.
One might ask how I knew Matoaka, I had seen it on a television show for kids. I was given another class to attend by the principal. I remember being taught as a kid that your principal was your pal. Mine was not.
I could not understand why I was humiliated and thrown out of class for having the best answers. I thought I had passed the test by knowing more names, I was mistaken, I was taken out of the class because I knew more famous women than the teacher who was female. I didn't understand that the question we were asked to answer we were supposed to fail at so that the teacher could prove a point, by answering correctly it proved her point was invalid.
I hope you see that school is not about truth and not about investigation it is about indoctrination. Do not cure the autistic, we need no cure, we are quite fine. We find answers to questions that nobody is asking before they need to be found so that the answer is there when it is needed. Do not tell us what to be, there are risks in that.
School should not be about answers or proving points, it should be about questions and play and joy. People learn better that way, they want to learn. We have designed a system that people seek to escape, a jail for children. We pass people who cannot read and through out people who can because they will not conform. I thought it was about learning.
The only class I ever failed was Algebra I, I hated it, you were explained things, you were taught formulas. I do learn formulas if I do not understand the why. I do not accept things just because they work most of the time. I want to know the real answer. The complete answer.
The few teachers I had that accepted me for being different asked a lot of questions and entertained all answers. I was also raised by Jesuit priests, I was raised Catholic. I never had a priest touch me in a bad way, mine were all hard drinking, funny, intelligent, well educated boxers. I had some great priests.
The priests I learned from did it old school and Socratic, they never flinched at a question and never, ever told you not to ask questions. I am not a Catholic, I do not believe the Pope is infallible. That is why I left the church; but, I have nothing but respect for the men and women I knew personally. God has blessed me throughout my life by putting respectable, intelligent and caring people around me. The priests and nuns I knew were amazing people and well educated.
The Catholic church is being challenged right now. It is being challenged because a couple hundred miscreants out of millions of lovers of God are assholes and have used their position to do very bad things. While the Catholic church is under attack, we need to remember what they have done. They have built more colleges and hospitals than any atheist organization, the Shriner's don't even get close.
I am a protestant, I was raised by Catholics, I left the church to become a agnostic and eventually a Protestant. I became agnostic because the priests that taught me, taught me to choose for myself and question myself more than my beliefs. The priest that do follow their vows are amazing, no sex for life, most don't, can you imagine giving up sex to help others? Show me that 50% of priests are pedophiles before you attempt to tell me that priests are as a rule.
The media wants to give you answers and if you want answers you will get them, if you want understanding, you won't get it from the media.
Government Secrecy and the Internet in Australia
Watch the video and read the article.
The upswing, you don't deserve privacy; but, the government does. The government has a right to know everything about you. You are government property, the government is not yours. Where does this type of thinking come from, it comes from thinking that you need to be completely monitored so that if necessary you can be controlled.
Two years ago I was writing about government censorship and monitoring. I was told that I was a "conspiracy theorist". I specifically talked about what was coming in Australia. Putting our heads in the sand does not make the reality go away. Ignoring the invasion of our privacy and saying that you won't care if you have nothing to hide misses the real issue. The real issue is whether or not we the people are in charge of OUR governments and our lives.
I grew up with our phone tapped; but, there was a good reason and we knew it. People who choose to get top secret clearances know that they will be watched, it is a trade off. My father had a clearance. Random monitoring of people who have not chosen to be involved is wrong.
More of the same in Australia - Filtering the web.

More Science
Scientists are now saying that it is possible to go back in time. You just wouldn't be able to affect anything or something like that.
Elsewhere scientists explain how things can be connected and not connected at the same time.
Isn't science wonderful for explaining reality.
I am cheating the blog tonight. Had to work till 8:30 and didn't get home till much later. I was lucky, I got to spend some of it with a truly great friend. Someone who was there for me and puts up with my wackiness. I put him through so much and he kept me going, I have the best friends a guy could want. I think I will talk about them.

Scientists say time may stop
Scientists thing there may not be any gravity and that reality is an illusion, now they are saying that time may cease to be. Enjoy the article. And atheists say that we should be more scientific and that belief in God is for idiots.

Really Nice Legs
Tonight I am going to "out" myself, no I am not gay. I like women's legs. I cannot help it, I really like a well turned leg. Ladies, we men enjoy all of your bodies; but, we tend to have parts that like more. I like legs, no fetish, I just find them visually stunning.
A couple of weeks back my co-worker and I went to get coffee and talk about some things. When I go to Starbucks I order coffee, that is ii, just coffee. My co-worker orders more exotic things that take time to make. This frequently leaves me to wait while her order is being filled. On this day, I waited outside to have a cigarette (yes, I smoke, I am filthy, I am horrible, I am worse than a rapist or murderer).
As I stood outside I kept looking inside to see if my co-worker was making any progress in getting her coffee, she was not; however, directly in front of me was a lovely lady of about 40, wearing a short dress. To young ladies who may ever read this, men like dresses, they show off your figure very nicely.
This lady had about the best legs I have ever seen, I mean they were smoking hot and she knew it. Being a leg man I couldn't help but notice. I did not wish to stare, no that is a lie, I really wanted to stare; but, I did not want to be offensive. I looked towards my assistant and as my eyes returned they could not but help glance at the ladies legs again. I decided to walk in the Starbucks so that I could check on my co-worker and not look at the legs.
I went in the store, the legs were behind a bookshelf so I was safe. Too long a line, my assistant had to wait. I went back outside and had another smoke, the only place to wait still had a direct view of the legs. I want to say that the face was quite nice and very delectable. Actually, everything about the woman was stunning.
The lady with the lovely legs must have noticed that I was a leg man. You women are pretty smart, you look to see where our eyes go. You look to see if we are excited by you. I was both by this lady. She knew it and began stroking her leg provocatively. As my brain turned to mush I knew I had two choices, go inside and let her know how nice her legs were and ask for her number or leave, quickly, before she came out and offered me a better view. I ran.
I believe the woman I saw was single, she was having a conversation with her married friend who had brought her children. I can see in my mind how she slid her hand across her outer thigh for my viewing pleasure, nothing naughty, she knew my eyes would follow and enjoyed my inability to turn away; but, I did. I enjoyed the show, a lot. I enjoyed seeing such sexy legs, such curved and wondrous things. I smile at the memory, they were hot.
I ran away because i was not going to date the woman. I turned away because if I didn't I would have asked her out. Based on the smile on her face as she looked at me and rubbed her leg, she would have said yes. I have told people that I am average looking at best, I am; but, I have found that women don't really care that I am half bald, short and have a slight tummy. I admire women for the fact that they look beyond looks and look at attitude more. I am a guy, I really like sexy, curvy legs, natural not over exercised.
I had lust in my heart, I even thought about her later. I wondered what her legs felt like, how smooth they would feel against my cheek and on my lips. It has been three years, I am lonely and God has blessed me with dating women who have re-ignited my passion for women. I lusted as much as I could allow myself. I had to stop thinking about her and her dead ass sexy legs. I am single, I am allowed; but, I chose not to.
I will date again, I will find love. I can have sex in the meantime and choose not to. I choose not to. I have been with one woman and that was by choice, she chose to leave for another. My intent had been to only be with one person, my intent has not changed, my circumstances have.
I do not intend to be with anything other than one more person. I do not wish to be promiscuous, although the opportunities are there, I do not have to take them, I am capable of being monogamous, I have been. I have a brain and not just urges; but, I do have urges, we all do, we can manage them.
I will find love, it is out there for all of us. I will find it and when I do I want to tell her that I had lust and held myself back until I could find her.
We are urge experiencing sentient beings, those urges to seek pleasure are very strong, the world is very harsh; however, we have brains and can exert restraint, we do not have to act like animals. Hitler loved dogs and I bet Satan loves animals. In college, in Boston, I heard a self professed liberal say how he always felt uncomfortable seeing a black person own a dog. It blew my mind. He said he didn't know why, I knew why, it was a control issue.
People like owning pets because they love you unconditionally, you feed them. Stalin understood how pets, animals will do anything to get food and the necessities, he went out to prove that humans were no different. Was he right? Are we just animals responding to our priorities of needs? We have done better and still can.
Hearts grow and rules restrain growth. Recently in Israel a man was charged with rape. He was charged with rape for saying he was jewish when he wasn't. The court said that he had duped the woman into sex because she thought he was jewish and not an Arab. How many men would be in jail in the United States for saying that they were something more than they were in order to get sex?
The question is one of how much do you trust the other sex to tell the truth in their search for companionship. The first woman I dated after the ex had asked me how old I was. I told the truth, 48. She told me how everybody lied about their age, when I met her, the first thing I did was show her my license. I was 48. She didn't want to see it, she didn't want me to prove it because she had lied about her age, she was probably 55. I was not concerned. She was very smart, attractive and pleasant.
I will tell the readers something, one of the women I dated reads the site and is not a follower. You know, they shouldn't call them "followers", they should call them observers, they may or may not agree, words. She never lied to me and my daughter and I love her. If we gotten together I would have wanted her to know that I had waited. And I wait.
Once we have had sex, we don't want to wait and it all looks good. Patience is old fashioned, get it while you can seems to be in vogue, I prefer patience, deeper and more fulfilling. This post is all over the place, a monstrous display of thematic discourse. I will attempt to hold on.
I am a leg man, first and foremost I am a human being, a sentient aware being, I choose and exert some influence on events. I have will. I have will-power and so do you. Her legs were hot, smoking hot and I have options. We define ourselves by restraint, by our intent more than our actions, true intent not our self-delusion.

An Atheist Utopia
I was reading on-line about the ten commandments, that led me to a site about the "New" ten commandments, basically atheist's ten commandments. That led me to a link to a site which was anti-religious and had numerous articles on why spiritual people are delusional and that led to "Rule the World - An Atheist's Utopia".
It starts by calling for a global constitution. They then call for the rich to be legally required to give to charity. It then says that the most important thing is to protect the environment. It then says that schools are mandatory and will have a very rigid coursework so that you learn the right thing.
It is claimed that this approach would prevent us from having dictators. Dictators are not the problem, authoritarian governments are. I do not care who is in charge if the law is dictatorial and authoritarian. To dictate is to demand. Once again the conversation turns on the misuse of concepts.

Phone apps and self reliance
I couldn't get to work today because an 18 wheeler decided to flip and shut down all the lanes of the freeway that I travel. My average travel time is 2 hours each way, this was going to make it 4 just to get there, or longer. So, I took vacation day and decided to work from home. My work is complete and now I want to write.
Since yesterday two of my readers complimented me on the blog. One of them sent me a link to an article about a phone application that lets you track where your phone is in case it is stolen. Kim Kardashian has a weight loss app, they only charge $1.50 to use it. The business of creating apps is the business of the future and it will be done by average people who are out of work; but, what do the apps really do?
As we rely on apps to do our thinking for us, we become less self reliant. Who will want to learn to do things themselves if there is already an app for it? A very long time ago I used travel all over Southern California going from City Hall to City Hall to get information for Realtors, I did it so much that I could find a city and it's City Hall without a map over 90% of the time, even if I had never been in the City before. My brother can tell you where a freeway is and which direction it goes if you just tell him the number (there is a numbering strategy).
If we observe our world we can figure out quite a lot and the power and knowledge becomes part of us, using apps we never learn. In the last twenty years we have managed to destroy writing. Have a 15 year old write a two page document on any current event and you will be appalled. Language is critical to our ability to understand the world clearly and make choices. Twitter and texting are an abomination and are further dumbing us down.
Shortcuts are fine once in a while, when you rely on them too much you acquire fewer skills and the ability to be independent. The use of apps for decision making leads to less ability to make decisions on your own. A recent post I made on "Freedom to Worship" as opposed to "Freedom of Religion" is a good example of word substitution. We use similar words that have a slightly different meaning in order to deceive people.
My ex-wife said she wanted independence, in fact she wanted dependence. She substituted the word independence for freedom, freedom to do as she wanted without responsibility to others for the effects. Independence means that you receive nothing from others, she sued me for divorce and asked for as much as she could get; yet, at the same time said she wanted independence. And no, this is not about her, it is about the use of words by substitution.
I have heard sooooo many people say that you should not smoke because your body is a temple, mainly Christians as it is from the New Testament. I have to remind them that the phrase was in regards to sexual immorality not health. Words are ever increasingly being misused and phrases taken out of context to achieve the opposite of what they mean. Very 1984.
There was a sign on one of the concentration camps that was recently stolen. The camp was Auschwitz and the sign said, "Work brings Freedom". In the United States there are a number of groups using the term "Work is Freedom". Work is not freedom and it does not bring freedom, it is slavery unless done for oneself or done willingly for another. Work is work.
Every change we are making to the country is being referred to as REFORM, it is not, it is a fundamental change to the structure of our nation, it is not reform it is change; but, if we call it reform we assume it is not a fundamental change, merely a small adjustment.
I fear that we will willingly give up our ability to think for ourselves and become a nation of eternal children. The Peter Pan Principle.

Pedophile Communists in Germany
Spiegel Online has an article about a Communist after school program in Germany that taught children to be sexually active and accepting. The article is disturbing; but, I recommend you read it.
When I was in law school I knew a fellow student who claimed to be a communist. One day he told me how a woman had turned him down on a date and that in a communist state they would be expected to share their body with anyone. I have found that extremists tend to have odd beliefs about sex. Politics and sex have a lot in common. The political organization of a government, the thinking that goes behind it is an example of how we think about everything else.
Each one of us has a idea of how we think things should work in our family, home, relationships, in life in general. We have a way of achieving these things, a methodology. For most people they use the same method regardless of the situation.
Now here is where you should pay a bit of attention. Our society has changed, views on sex have changed and our children are acting the way that the German communists were attempting to teach their children to be. Promiscuous and no boundaries. How did we get here, the answer was television and the mass media. Watch MTV reality shows, non-stop sex and promiscuity with no boundaries. Unplug your television, shut it off, throw it out, burn it, bury it, stop watching it.
Your television is teaching your children, talking to them more hours a day than you are, don't let it be your children's teacher, it doesn't have the same values. How many examples of good fathers are on today's television shows? How many examples of successful single mothers? Many more.
Propaganda works. It does, look at history.

Funny things in the paper
California Ballot Measure to Outlaw Divorce. Sure am gonna be happy that my divorce is final if this passes.
Sunnyvale Council doing shaky appointments.
Say goodbye to libraries and books
Too Many Intelligence Officers? So what is really behind this exposure of the government intelligence operations? We have too many and what, the Russians have too few in our country?
Wikileaks is back up, what information will they be releasing?
How come we keep finding so many new species? And does this mean that Bigfoot could exist?
Google and the Intelligence Community. I told you so, I told you so, I told you so. In case you didn't notice, I am gloating.

What about talking to people
I like this article. There is a professor in England who is getting groups of people together to talk about life and relationships. The article says well enough.

Disturbing article on religion
President Obama speaks about Freedom of Worship rather than freedom of religion. The Constitution talks about Freedom of Religion, that refers not just to the right to worship; but, also to the right to live as your religion dictates.
In Europe right now people are voting on making the wearing of Burqas illegal, I have a problem with that. Muslim women wear them as part of their religion, we should not prohibit them from wearing them. We have no right to ask for our religious freedom if we do not allow others to have theirs.
The question is not just about religion, it is about freedom and government's NEED to regulate. Government should not attempt to control us anymore than is NECESSARY to provide for certain basics. Safety from other groups being the most famous. THE PEOPLE did not create government to tell them how to raise their children or what to wear.

There is a new application that will search the web and the social networks to show you how you are connected to other people. The reverse is that is shows everyone you are connected to and how they are connected to other people.

200th post since I started the new blog
I cannot believe that this third iteration of my blog has already reached 200 posts. That is quite a lot of baloney to come out of one person. I want this post to be on something light. I have been reading too many heavy things and don't want to talk about them for the 200th, instead I want to write about Love.
Here are some songs generally believed to be about love. The artist's name will be a link to the video song and the title will link to the lyrics.
Laura Brannigan - Self Control.
Animotion - Obsession
Laura Brannigan - Gloria
The Police - Every Breath You Take
If you read the lyrics you should see there is something very dysfunctional going on. The first song rather than being about self control is about losing all control, it is almost psychotic. The person blames others for her indiscretions. "You take my self control" she continually repeats while admitting she is living a lie.
The second song is again about over the top obsession and the purpose is not love but is instead sex. "Who do you want me to be to make you sleep with me">
The third song, Gloria is about a woman who has gone insane, hears voices in her head and imagines lovers.
The fourth song is about a stalker, Sting could not believe that people play this song at weddings. Read the lyrics, they broke up and he keeps stalking this girl. Creepy.
,
It is surprising how twisted the emotions are that are expressed in most love songs. There is little point in discussing rap love songs, "I like big butts". Who said romance is dead.
Themes in "love songs" are frequently about obsessiveness, being out of control and merely responding to urges or stalking. Possessiveness is also a big topic. What then is a mature approach to love? What emotions and perspectives should we promote. I know many women who have told me about horrible dating experiences they have had.
I would say that respect for people you date is important, treat them as you would like to be treated rather than just trying to play a role so that you can enjoy their cookies. How about trying to get to know them, what they believe, think and want out of life.
I have read dating advice on the web, most of it is just horrible. It starts from the premise that you should be someone other than yourself and avoid controversial matters. I would think that the controversial stuff should come up first so you can decide if you are right for each other.
Lets try some other songs. The first one is considered more sexual than the ones we looked at; but, lets look at the lyrics a little closer.
Jefferson Starship - Miracles
In the song a couple has been apart. The singer longs for his love and tells her not to lose heart. He then discusses all aspects of being with her, not just sex. In particular he talks about how he knew from the moment he met her that their heart was one, that together they could do anything. He talks about how love is the answer. He says that love is a rarity, it was the sex that was simple. And what does he ask of his love, that she believe they will be together again to share their love. He talks about holding her hand and walking with her. When is the last time someone sang about something like holding a woman's hand in a song?
Gloria Estefan - Don't Wanna Lose You Now
I guess Ms Estefan is no fan of dating sites either. She talks about her husband seeing her for who she is, about being herself. The song makes perfect sense coming from her. She was about 17 when she met her future husband who was considerably older. She grew up and and said she would stand her ground and be herself, she asked him to accept her as she was rather than give up on their relationship. Commitment.
Pat Benatar - We Belong
One of the best songs about a couple staying together, she and her husband have been married a very long time. All couples go through tough times and people change, grow; but, love should be the glue. In the song she says, "We belong to the words we've both fallen under" she is referencing their wedding vows.
What I think I am getting at is what does true love feel like? My father used to teach people how to spot forged securities, he explained to me when I was a child how they taught the people in the Secret Service to spot such things. The Secret Service is part of the Treasury Department.
New agents are taken and shown every part of the manufacturing process, the paper and how it is made, the ink and how it is made, the plates and how they are made, they are so familiar with the real thing that they cannot be fooled. You teach someone to find truth by showing lies because the lies are endless, you teach them how to spot the real thing, everything else exposes itself.
One should ask themselves what type of person is right for them rather than asking if the person in front of them might be okay. We tend to settle because of what was available rather than looking for what we know is right for us. It should be a person who you feel you can be completely yourself with and who can be completely themselves with you, that is love and acceptance.
Based on my thoughts, the song I find the most offensive lyrically is by
Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young - Love the one your with
I find, while musically fine, quite cynical. "There is a girl right next to you and she's just waiting for something to do". Great message, love the one your with. In the old days the sailor's would say, "Any old port in a storm". Had nothing to do with love. Here is a very young girl singing the song on a talent show. Tori Thompson. Watch it and ask yourself if you still think the song has a good message.
I am not intending to critique any of the authors of these songs, songs are written when we are feeling something and don't necessarily represent who we are. What brought this up was an article in Newsweek. It is titled, "The Case Against Marriage" and is written to women. It basically says that women don't need to be married anymore to have security so they shouldn't marry. Marriage can be about love.
What ever happened to believing that there is someone for everyone, whatever happened to believing that their is another soul out there that compliments and wants to be with you, that you can enjoy a lifelong relationship with another if you both try. We have turned from acceptance to a culture of temporary reltionships, as soon as we get what we want from the person, we seek someone new. When we do that we never know love, not true love, transformational love.
The bible describes two types of "love", the highest type of love is "Agape" or sacrificial love that drives people to do for one another. It is the type we are supposed to be attempting to achieve in our hearts and by definition it changes our actions. The common type of love is "phileo", a type of friendship love.
"Now for this very reason also, applying all diligence, in your faith supply moral excellence, and in your moral excellence, knowledge, and in your knowledge, self-control, and in your self-control, perseverance, and in your perseverance, godliness, and in your godliness, brotherly kindness [phileo], and in your brotherly kindness, love [agape]". (2 Peter 1:5-7)
The above quote also talks about exercising self control as the beginning of a journey that can lead to agape love, something we discussed recently.
"If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails". (1 Corinthians 13)
The description of love in Corinthians is not a description of sex or the thrill of being with them, it is a description of the consequences, evidence of true love. If your love does not have these attributes it is not agape love. Be well and have a great week.

Scietists speak with forked tongue
Do not even attempt to tell me that science is consistent. Two articles that directly contradict each other and both are reported as fact.
Life on Titan? The article says that there is a chemical change in the atmosphere of the giant moon Titan, they then say that, "Scientific conservatism suggests that a biological explanation should be the last choice after all non-biological explanations are addressed."
Scientists claim that we have entered a new age where human activity will determine the planets evolution.
I want to make sure I understand what they are saying. If there are changes to gasses in the atmosphere of the earth it is caused by humans; but, if there are changes in the atmosphere of other planets and moons we should assume it is a natural process. Huh? What happened to scientific process where you start with the same base?
If you read the second article again you will notice that they say that we haven't seen these carbon levels on earth in 800,000 years; but, we have seen them before so it can be a natural occurrence. The question is how much of the carbon levels in the atmosphere are due to the volcanoes that exploded in the last couple of years and the numerous fires in the United States and Greece.
Maybe driving cars changes the temperature and maybe it doesn't; but, the arguments that is does are bad science. What percentage of the change over the past 50 years was due to sun spot activity and how closely does our climate heating match the fact that the other planets in the solar system also increased their temperatures?
The methods being employed by people claiming global warming is man made are dubious, constant repetition of slogans is propaganda not proof. We are being asked to change all of our living habits and not question why. People who do question, even well renowned scientists, are ridiculed. Ridicule and propaganda, what are they hiding? If this is so critical than we should have full disclosure and serious discussion. If they were truly concerned they would actively seek out dissent to convince them, not ridicule them.

Great Minds Think Alike
Just as the Obama administration has determined that obesity needs to be regulated, guess what Australia has the exact same idea. In Australia they want to regulate food the same way that they regulate tobacco. For people who believe these are the end times, in Revelations it says that in the last days they will outlaw marriage and the eating of meat. ROFL, well we have outlawed marriage, gay marriage and now we are going to outlaw meat. Watch you will not be able to buy meat on certain days in the future.
I return to what I said earlier. The government was not created to tell me what to eat. It is filthy for elected officials to believe that it is reasonable to invade every aspect of our lives to deny any area as private.

Articles on why you cannot trust your eyes
There was an experiment to test if people noticed things that did not belong. The experiment is being talked about a lot currently and variations of it are being shown. You have to wait for the end of the video.
What is the message we are being led to believe? What conclusions do people draw. The first article says that we see what we want to see, that implies that we cannot trust our beliefs. The fact is that people miss the gorilla because they are focused elsewhere. We only see a percentage of the world, our ability to observe is limited by our senses. I cannot see in ultraviolet spectrum, some people cannot see a wide range of colors.
It is not that we cannot observe properly, it is that our ability to observe is limited. What was left out of the experiment was that people could accurately count the number of times the people tossed the ball, what they were asked to focus on. The promise made in the first article is that if you relax and observe the big picture you are more likely to be lucky and get cookies. To not observe things too closely.
I am a big believer in a different approach. Most people decide what cookies they want and then begin building a belief set and understanding that appears the most likely to achieve their goal, ignoring things that are not "relevant". I believe we should observe the totality, gestalt philosophy, after getting the big picture we then drill down to individual aspects with no regard for the outcome. The intent is understanding not acquisition.
We will never have complete understanding; but, is our intent to use our understanding to get cookies or to grow? If we seek understanding for it's own sake we will get cookies because we will understand how things work better, it is a natural result.
I was talking to someone recently about such things. Specifically we were discussing people who have foot fetishes or like to dress up like furry woodland creatures and have sex. Neither I nor the person I was speaking to were attracted to such activities and the activities themselves were not what we were discussing. What intrigued me was how they got there.
I know there are many men with foot fetishes, I have no opinion on it one way or the other. What I have never been able to figure out is what led to the fetish. How do people come to associate sexiness with feet? Understanding it is not likely to me getting anything, I don't have a foot fixation. It is not likely to help me overcome any problems; but, it might help me to understand others who are different than me and that has value.
The one thing that pushes ignorance the most is the search for relevance. The refusal to understand or care about anything that does not increase our chances of getting goodies. Quiet contemplation has value in and of itself, increasing our understanding of the world.
Two websites that I regularly visit are "The Anomalist" and "The Fortean Times". They regularly post on the bizarre. I particularly like it when the link to stories about fish falling from the sky. The standard answer is that it is caused by waterspouts taking up fish from the sea and then depositing them miles away. As Charles Fort pointed out, if that was the cause how come we don't see a variety of fish fall, it is always limited to one type per incident.
Now answering this question may have no value to me, it is just amusing. It is the gorilla observation test. Most people would not even bother to read about fish falling from the sky and if they did they would accept the explanation without examining it because it has no relevance to their lives. To examine the question gets in the way of chasing cookies. We are becoming a society that spends all it's time chasing cookies, especially in the realm of entertainment and pleasure. As a consequence our understanding of the world becomes more and more limited.
In the book "Faust" there is a professor who creates a little man just to see if he can. That is not a search for understanding, doing things just to see if we can is not a search for understanding it is dismissive of the impact on others, it is prideful and an abomination. Frankenstein is a good example of this type of investigation.
The Chinese are reportedly gene splicing human genes with animals. The alleged purpose is to create hybrids. We have seen Stephen Hawking call for similar changes, improvements in humans through gene modification. Others call for modifying humans using technology. Both are forms of transhumanism and I have posted on that previously with links. They claim that in order for people to keep up with the changes in the world we will need to modify ourselves. One transhumanist stated that people who are not allowed to have these modifications will be at a disadvantage and be seen as handicapped in getting the cookies of this world.
The idea that we are not good enough and need shortcuts to survive is dangerous. We are what matters and our personal evolution must come with understanding. Wisdom and understanding have no shortcuts, learning is a process. I can train someone through repetition; but understanding does not follow. Understanding comes through learning and experience, it focuses on a things impact on others.
People too often trade understanding for cookies, free will for comfort and love for sex. Law school is very demanding, you read hundreds of pages a day and are constantly questioned on everything you believe. It is not fun, it is hard work. In fact Law School is an unpleasant experience. I went to Law School with no intent to practice law, I wanted the understanding and it has helped in my career. Many of my fellow students could not understand why I would put myself through such a thing. In fact one fellow student offered to lend me the money to take a Bar Review course because he thought I should become a lawyer.
I graduated with honors and could take the bar exam if I wished, I have no such wish. I did take the exam once right after I graduated because I thought I should, I missed passing by a few points. Because it was not what I wanted for a career I never took it again and it has been 25 years. What I learned in Law School has enriched my life in so many ways, it has broadened my understanding. The hard work that went into graduating pays me back every day in ways that I could not have anticipated and that is the beauty of the thing.
We have an amazing world around us, it is full of so many wonderful puzzles. The world and the universe have an unlimited number of puzzles to solve, we may not solve them all correctly; but, it is about the journey. The journey should be one of discovery for that promotes the most growth. At least that is what I am striving for. Be well.

Be well.
Freedom to be wrong
Freedom of speech is about the freedom to be wrong. It is okay to be wrong, to not know everything, to work through things in your head, that leads to growth. I don't think we ever get anything perfectly right. We tend to focus on the aspects of any issue that we think impact us. I have constantly stated that this blog is an exploration, not an answer, not even for me.
Two articles on freedom of speech. The first is about a professor who was fired for saying that homosexuality is a sin. He was teaching a class on what Catholicism is. How can he teach the class if he cannot say what the Catholic churches position on homosexuality is?
The second is about what people should be allowed to say on the internet. It is half joking and more of a complaint.
On a unrelated note. The things I have posted on regarding quantum physics and spirituality is being discussed more and more in the mainstream media. Basically they are using quantum physics to push a gnostic philosophy. A push against diversity of thought in order to achieve a blending of things. Another article on science and reality.
The fact that I frequently post on things a day or two before others write about it has nothing to do with tapping into a universal consciousness. I simply read a lot and can see what the reactions will be. Other people read the same articles and it takes a day or two for them to publish, my blog can post immediately with no spell check or editor to slow it down.
If you the articles linked above on quantum physics and spirituality, look at the dates. This is a developing discussion that was begun when a quantum physicist began discussing how gravity made no sense and that reality was merely perception. The question of to what extent we will be allowed to post on things without getting approval and recognition from the government remains to be seen.
The attacks by governments all around the world on freedom of speech and thought is terrifying. The discussion is being played out as the fight between a complete loss of privacy (publish everything including porn with even children having unrestricted access) to "legitimate" control over what is published. The discussion is being pushed so that you accept something in between; but, there is no in between if you give government or others control over free speech it is not free speech.
If someone commits a crime using the internet, such as publishing pictures of child porn, arrest them for the action and take down the site. The issue is one of pre-determining what can be published. Libel laws are questionable. It brings up questions of your right to be wrong. Should I be allowed to say that I think all politicians are crooks without being able to prove it? Kathy Griffin recently called one politicians daughters prostitutes, she was joking and they appear to be accomplished young ladies; but, should she be allowed to joke about such things?
Let us say that you can publish what you want, at what point should others be allowed to sue you? Will people end up having to word things in crafty ways to get around the laws? Would Kathy Griffin be allowed to ask whether or not the girls had ever had sex for money rather than saying they had?

Medical Mischief
The Obama Administration is planning to require that ALL medical providers who receive payments from the government have electronic medical records and now they are going to require that they also report people's weight. I guess we are going to legislate against being overweight.
I smoke. I have for decades. I also eat meat, love it. I also drink wine, red preferably a Pinot Noir or Cabernet Sauvignon. I have a high stress job that involves sitting all day. I have been hospitalized more than once for high blood pressure. I have been told that I am a heart attack or stroke waiting to happen. If I changed all of my habits and exercises, I will still be a heart attack or stroke waiting to happen, it is in my genes.
I anticipate that once Universal Healthcare is instituted we will begin having attacks on people who smoke or are overweight because it costs the "taxpayers" more for their healthcare. My solution is to stop seeing doctors. The only doctor I am willing to see anymore is my therapist, I enjoy talking to him. I am not promoting smoking or drinking or not exercising, these are personal decisions not state ones.
We all die. This cannot be avoided and should not. Being overweight is unhealthy, we all know that. It is none of my business if you are overweight, it is none of the government's business and no I don't care what the cost is, I care about individual freedom to make decisions for oneself. Privacy of body and mind are the most fundamental of rights. We are eliminating both.

Disinformation
I really don't want to post on UFOs that much. I posted about the China UFO because my daughter asked me to. There were actually two events. The first one was about a week ago and involved a cigar shaped UFO over a Chinese airport. The second event happened a couple of days ago and was not a cigar shaped UFO. The LA Times and other media are now showing a video of the second event while referencing the first event, that is disinformation, deceit.
The video of the second event.
If you were not keeping current on events, you would not know that they were different. A picture from the first event.
Does the video look like the picture, the answer is no. The same baloney was played out when we had the Norway Spiral. A week after the Norway spiral occurred, the Russians sent up a missile and had it spiral out of control. That was the picture the media started pushing and saying how they looked the same, they did not look the same; but, people are easily swayed. I do not know what the Norway spiral was nor do I know what the China UFO was; but, I know misdirection when I see it.

The Anomalist - Follow Up to Jung
Hi all. I woke up this morning and went to a website called "The Anomalist". They posted a link to a blog that blew me away. It is a gnostic discussing reality and dovetails with what I wrote.

By the way
The young man who used to work for me and I am so proud of, I never asked him to learn to be like me. I asked him to see the world, I pray I taught him to see behind the veil not to be like me. I always told him to be him, to understand the world but to deal with it as him, not to replicate me.
That is teaching rather than training. That is freedom rather that tyranny. That is the difference between love and adoration. It is how we should learn rather than what we can get. Two of my daughters believe me to be an ass because I will not conform to their wishes, I will not conform to anyone's wishes and I do not ask others to conform to mine, I live my life and show by example. Their choices are their choices. That is how I believe it should be, not force, self definition.
As for my not "Son in law", he need not worry what I think. He apparently wishes to tell me who I am. His opinion on that matter is meaningless unless I get to tell him who to be. My answer for those who have always attempted to tell me who to be is (I am going to cuss) F You. My number one priority in life was to tell people to be themselves and to attempt to be the best themselves that they could. I will die on that mountain, it is a good place to die on.
BE YOU. Be loving, be giving, be forgiving; but, be those things because they are lessons you wish to learn. Be true to yourself and be willing to live with the consequences, be so committed to live with the penalties of being wrong, of learning again. Be well.
Jesus was asked to sum up the bible. He said love God with all you heart and your neighbor as yourself. What does it mean to love God with all your heart, does it mean to admit that you are not perfect, that there is more of a penalty for being perfect than you are willing to take on? If you wish to be God, what price are you willing to pay? What price are you willing to pay to be perfect? Are you willing to accept the pain of loving people who are not?

Carl Jung, Gnostics and Jim Carey.
I bet you that you don't know the connection. The title reads like something the Amazing Karnak would say on "The Tonight Show".
Carl Jung is one of the most famous people in Psychiatry. He created the theory of individuation. That is Jung's belief that we must unite our conscious with the subconscious. Your "heart", feelings, intuition and your mind while keeping the mind autonomous. What does that sound like to you? Something we have talked about before.
Carl Jung was also famous for his belief in gnosticism. He was an avowed alchemist also. I passed an article on it today and cannot remember where or I would post the link. Now lets return to what he taught. He was teaching to reach for spirits to share your skin and guide you.
Gnosticism and Mystery Religions always do the same thing with different words. The "Initiate" is in search of higher spiritual knowledge. The initiate is taught to feel the universal consciousness, the higher self, the other being inside you. As a Christian I would refer to this as channeling. The allowing of spirits inside you to become one with them, to share space.
Now watch this speech by the comedian Jim Carey. He took DMT to find the spiritual. I wrote about DMT sometime back. DMT is a chemical released from the Pineal Gland when one is dying. It is becoming very popular, it should absolutely NOT be taken by people. It occurs naturally when it is needed, just how the body was designed. It has a purpose; but, the purpose is not to have an forced experience.
Mr. Carey's description of his experience is that he became one with everything and was his bigger self. He says there was no distinction between him and everyone else. That then is something he says he keeps trying to get back to. Here is a video talking about the "Spiritual Awakening" that many say is coming. I don't care if it is right or wrong, not the issue. I am more interested in the description of the experience.
The people in the video are describing a DMT experience. I am not saying they took the drug, it is the type of experience one would have on DMT. The pineal gland is the area known as the third eye. It is where occultists have said for years the psychic center was. Again, I am not taking a position at the moment; but, am looking at the nature of these experiences.
After one has one of these experiences they are supposed to find a guide (this world or other world) who is supposed to help explain the experience to them. The experiences most of these people are discussing are basically channeling, possession. You no longer are part of everything, everything is part of you, you become God. How funny Jim Carey took it, he made a movie about wanting to be God called "Bruce Almighty".
So, Jim Carey wants to feel like he is God again, uniting with everything and everyone. Carl Jung wanted us to do the same and it all comes from Gnostic religions. If there is a coming "awakening" it will not be good, it may feel wonderful, but, it will not be good. Imagine a five year old on LSD, he truly is not ready and will be screwed up afterwards not knowing up from down.
Quite a lot of "magic" spells and incantations were created by Christian monks. They thought if they had power over demons then they could use that power to gain cookies from the demons. Again, this is not about their being right or wrong, it is about their intent, where were they coming from.
The experience for these people is about them, being one with everything; but, they are the God, everyone absorbs into them. It is completely self-centered and completely un-Christian. It mocks relationship, everyone conforming to you rather than interacting with separate, self-defined beings.
Now I am going to talk about the bible. The bible says that we should never attempt to speak to spirits. It also says that demons are cast down angels, they are still angels, not all angels are good. No doubt the Devil classifies itself as an Angel (at least in years when they win a pennant). ROFL, hey, that was pretty good.
I wrote recently on the "Purpose of life". Someone's chosen purpose in life decides their direction in life, it is their need to be. It is what gets them up in the morning. If your purpose in life is to become like God with everything becoming part of you, what kind of choices will you make?
It says in the bible that the Devil is the king of deceit, why would anyone think that they are capable of dealing with spirits if they believe in spirits? Read about the lives of Aleister Crowley and Anton LeVay, they dies miserable deaths after losing everything. Why do people seek the spirit world, to everything a time and we shall all die soon enough. I guarantee, we will all know when we get there. You may discover that God is a woman or a Mormon or whatever, heck the Scandinavians believed he was turtle.
What if this life was about preparing for a spiritual existence? If it was than that would be defeated by taking the shortcut. What if rather than becoming one we shared completely openly and they with us; but, still completely distinct and free? That is what Christianity calls for. Gnosticism is a twist, yes I know it predates it, on Judaism and Christianity. It is another side of the coin.
I was once asked what I would do if I were God. I answered that I would kill myself because I could not handle the responsibility. If you are reading my blog you have probably decided I am not a complete moron or you like to laugh at the little retarded kid (bad people, bad). I know I am fairly bright, I am not that bright. I would never want to be God, the smallest mistake could be devastating. What sort of Narcissist thinks they can handle being God, not even Satan. It is the unpardonable sin, the only one that one cannot be saved from, it goes way beyond idolatry. I have always said that I would be happy to sweep the streets in heaven.
Imagine every cookie, goody, pleasurable thing being given to you at one time. Could you stand up to that or would your pleasure be too much for you to take? Too much pleasure (gluttony, lust and the other deadly sins) takes over weak willed people. The temptation is too much for most, almost all of us. The DMT experience is like that, like having all your pleasure sensors turned on at once. Hell, people cannot even handle methamphetamine.
I asked one of my daughters, an ex-meth user, what it was like. She said it made you feel as if you were perfect, the most beautiful, the most intelligent, the most. That sounded to me like a pretty strong drug. DMT is worse, it makes you feel like you are God if it is intentionally taken. People who have Near Death Experiences, have DMT naturally released, they feel as if they meet God or their loved ones, not quite the same experience. How funny that scientists will admit that DMT causes spiritual experiences when taken intentionally, yet, they deny the Near Death Experience where DMT is released naturally.
Why would anyone want to become a God? For the responsibility, for the knowledge of the meaning of everything - no surprises, sound boring. People always want to be God for the same reason, the power, to have everything and anything you want. Without surprise that condemns one to a eternity of boredom. Once the initial thrill wore off, eternity would be boring, that would be hell.
People are inconvenient at times, they are messy, they don't do the right thing all the time; but, they are very interesting. My blog is about how interesting the differences in us are, it is about what wild differences there are in the universe, it is certainly not about conformity or agreement. I had a psychologist once tell a class that I was a polarizing individual, upon meeting me people either hated or loved me. I used to post on a relationship website, I had exactly that effect, I was the most hated and loved. I never understood either reaction.
If we understood people's deepest meaning, beliefs we would react strongly, we might not react with compassion. Compassion comes with time, it comes with learning, it comes with thought. It comes when we learn that others feel the same pain. I learned it when I slammed a door on a young man's hand. I cannot thank him enough for forgiving a 11 year old idiot, me.
I had lunch with one of your fellow readers, he is not on the Follower's list. He used to work with me. He makes me so proud, he learned so much and such integrity. I love watching him use what he learned to make things better and right wrongs. He helped me when I was very down, when my world had deconstructed. He reminded me how he starts each day by reading my stupid blog. I told him that I try and mix up the stuff I write. I hope I continue to amuse him and the readers.
I did not write this blog to gain a world following. I do not monetize it or have click through's that make me money. I do not cuss on it, though, I cuss a lot in person, because I want anyone to be free to read it. If you met me in person you may be surprised by how quiet and reserved I am. I am basically a very shy person and not assertive on a personal level. On a business level I am very different. I am very assertive and can be quite confrontational. My writing is a mix of the both.
I met a lady who only knew me because of my writing. We had a lovely dinner in Palm Springs at Bing Crosby's. I have never seen her again, she lived in North Carolina and was here on business. She told me that I was not what she expected and that I was unlike anyone she had ever met. I wondered what she had expected, what do you expect if you do not know me? I assure you I am just a 50 year old bald man who is waiting to meet his love, his companionship. I am just a guy, how could a guy wish to be God, I can't.
To the readers that do not know me, why do you bother reading my drivel? It is not as if this blog has a clearly defined, ruled theme. In fact I attempt to avoid that. The blog is not about any special interest, I don't write on science as a them or even the economy, or even pensions. My blog is a rambling series of questions and attempts at discussion. Why are you here? Some feedback please.

Brad Sherman in the News
Brad Sherman is the congressman that said that Congress had been threatened with Martial Law and the same person who changed Day Light Savings time. Here is an interesting report on him attending a Town Hall Meeting.
Smoke and Mirrors
There is something going on. Can't say exactly what, I am not quite sure; but, a lot of odd activity in the news.
73,000 blogs taken down by the Federal Government.
The Washington Post to post a listing of top secret contractors with additional information. How did they get the list, Wikileaks gone mainstream?
Duck Boat crashes, one week after a crash in Philly, another crashes on the highway in Boston. Are Duck Boats unsafe on land and water?
Former Spy for Cuba given 80 years. You have to love the timing, two weeks after we let 12 Russian spies get off without even a swat on the hand. The intelligence community is getting very strange indeed. Everything is coming out at the same time, how does that happen? Remember what Putin said, he said Obama did not have control of his police. Old spies never die, they just get pissed off.
I have met many strange people in my life, about 30 years ago I knew a Cuban national who had spied for the U.S. government. You don't need to believe this, the ex knows it to be true. He was a very nice man, very calm and gentle. He used blow things up in Cuba, he was a real anti-communist. We had discussed me writing his story; but, moved and lost track of him. Old cold warriors are still out there and still very smart. I wonder how they feel watching this nation turn socialist? What is your guess. Oh yeah, there are more ex-military than in the service today. Millions and millions of ex-military, too many to count.
My daughter insists that I include the China UFO that gained international attention. The event resembles something that happened in Chicago in 2006.
UFO's and spies. Wow. High strangeness. This is all over the news. Oh and Mel Gibson, so much chatter that most people probably don't have the time or interest to understand what the "Financial Reform" legislation is going to do to business.

It's the Weekend - Yay
Well sort of. I have to work on some business stuff this weekend in preparation for a coming audit. Oh boy, reading old reports all weekend. The best part about being salaried is that I can work nights and weekends and never worry about being paid, no overtime for salaried employees. Actually, I do it all the time and it gives me something productive to do. Having said that, I had planned on some deeper posts and will probably not do them till next weekend.
Anyways, I will attempt to post some interesting articles as I find them. The first one I want to post is about Sumo Wrestling. I had previously mentioned how Sumo is very special to the Japanese and is currently under a lot of scrutiny. The point I was attempting to make was it's effect on the Japanese psyche. It is now being discussed in western media and I thought people might enjoy reading this article from the Associated Press.

How you gonna keep em down on the farm
Another article on how governmental actions are impacting farmers. I want you to pay particular attention to how they are being effected by the financial overhaul. As I had previously posted in regards to the stock market, the "hedges" and "options" are being eliminated that act as insurance policies for producers. This is really important and I hope my readers will make the effort to understand what it means.
I am not taking a position against what is happening, I just want people to understand that it is a fundamental change to our nation. The good side is that it eliminates the gambling of our economy, the bad news is that it eliminates the protection for some as it acts as an insurance policy.
Some endeavours, such as being a rancher or farmer, are filled with risk. Insurance should be like a savings account that is meant to be used when the risk occurs. What has happened is that instead of buying insurance, people sold risk to others. This is the same thing that options and puts do to your pension fund. The problem is that it leads to businesses and farmers and ranchers to taking more risk on because they feel they are covered. When our stock market failed and the housing market failed the system failed.
Eliminating and/or regulating these types of "hedges" is critical. The question is what is used to replace them as our system is based on them. The answer should be regulated insurance companies that are in the business of insurance rather than risky trading. The answer will be governmental savings accounts that act as insurance.
The terms that are used in the article may be foreign to some of the readers. Take the time and look up terms you don't know or ask me in the comment section and I will try and put it in simple everyday language. Be well.

A Rumbling in the Woods
Someone has something to say about Mayor Villaraigosa. And what of his e-mails, what have they read. Seems orchestrated these attacks on the mayor. I am neither a supporter or opponent; but, it seems orchestrated to take him and DWP out.
Farming
Interesting article from the Washington Post. During the Supreme Court confirmation hearings, Kagan was asked if congress could regulate what farmers grew. She dodged the question; but, knew that this had occurred during the depression.
Everyone is focusing on her failure to answer. The bigger question for me is why did that Senator ask her the question in the first place. Does he know something that we do not, like what is coming next?

LADWP in the news again.
DWP is being set up, it should be obvious. Last week their Chief Financial Officer resigned and tool a lower position. At the same time it was announced that audits were going to be conducted over their Service Request, Real Estate, Risk Management and Purchasing operations. Now it is being announced that the Council is reviewing DWP and wants citizen involvement in the reorganization.
What do you want to bet the audit comes out before the reorganization goes to the public and a few people at DWP stole money or took kickbacks. Every organization has a few miscreants. The big deal that was made on television about a couple of low level field personnel drinking on the job was aimed more at DWP than at the employees who did it. I have never worked for DWP and don't work for it now; but, I can see a smear campaign with a political agenda.
Most of the engineers at DWP believe green power is too expensive at present and didn't want to see the rate hikes. I have spoken to some of their people.

The answer is 42
Douglass Adams was the author of a series of books known as "The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy" trilogy (although there were four of them). In the books a supercomputer attempts to answer the question of the meaning of life, you know the answer is 42.
Well it is over 100 degrees out and rather than go out, I will sit here and write about that question. What is the purpose of life? Is it to be successful, to experience as much pleasure as possible, to have as many different experiences as possible, to help others, to "grow" spiritually? Those are all options that some people try, I don't think they are destinations in and of themselves.
We are sentient beings, our basic nature is awareness and emotion. Our awareness is fulfilled by learning. We learn through experience, observation and contemplation. As we are emotional beings we seek joy. We decide what we find joy in. Some find joy in pleasure, some in success, some in achievement, some in acquisition, joy can be associated with anything. When the joy is compulsive or obsessive it is a fetish.
In the end the best joy is joy shared. Seeking to hoard joy, to not share it is a form of narcissism. Christians are told not to hide their light; but, instead to share it. Buddha said, "Happiness never decreases by being shared". The focus of the spiritual is on sharing. The gnostics and mystery schools believe that the purpose of life is self-centered, not selfish. The difference is focusing on personal growth rather than shared growth.
I have had a couple of dozen friends and family die in the past six years or so. What they left behind is what they shared, the concern, love, confusion and the working through things. Life, to me, is about working through things with others. Sometimes others do not wish to work through things, that is the way life is. Relationship is about becoming closer by working things through, those things are negotiated, if forced there is no relationship, only duress.
So my answer is that life is about relationship. In our lives we have many relationships, each imperfect as we are imperfect. I would say our purpose is to find the best relationship that we can while having as many positive ones as we can with others.
We used to attempt to organize society around promoting positive personal relationships. We don't seem to do that anymore. We now organize society around the pursuit of selfish pleasures. That led us to where we are. Relationships are no longer valued as they were.
Throughout history the main driving force in people's lives was to develop close intimate relationships, the family was the center of people's lives rather than personal gain. That is what has changed, it really began coming apart in the 70s with the Woman's Rights movement. This is not about equal rights, it is about a tone that was set. I lived in those times and saw what happened.
During the 70s women were being told that having children and a family was slavery, they were told that they were second class citizens because they were kept out of the workforce. They were told that life was about being able to have a career. It was complete garbage. Equal pay makes sense, fairness makes sense, thinking that being a wife and mother was slavery was the lie.
When women entered the workforce in growing numbers the vast majority did not get careers, they got jobs. They lost their control over their time and the joy that comes with raising a family. Abortion became popular rather than motherhood. This is not about the woman's rights movement, it is about our changing perspective on what life is about. For the first time in history people began to decide that having a family was not worthwhile, not a thing to be sought.
They do surveys asking people what their priorities are and fewer and fewer are saying that there number one priority is having a family, it used to be the center of our lives. The alarming rate of teenage pregnancy is not about having a family, it is about having a baby rather than about the baby. Most of these young mothers are not married and don't get married.
We are perverting our nature, our human nature. We have turned from relationship to pleasure. Our societal focus ensures that we achieve neither. When you die you do not miss your playstation. Imagine dying without ever having had a sharing relationship, how lonely that would be. We cannot be satisfied without developing intimate relationships, emotional sharing.
In case you haven't noticed, I have been posting towards this point for the last week. What then is an intimate relationship, notice I did not say healthy. Healthy implies that we only deal with people who make US better, I am talking about a relationship focused on both parties, intimate. It can be assumed that consensual intimate relationships are by their very nature healthy.
Intimate relationships occur when both parties share their truth and their love. Each person's truth will be slightly different or vastly different. The internet provides an opportunity to share with all types of people; but, too often we see attacks on differences. The anonymity leads people to vent biases rather than seek understanding. It also seems to often that people act as if they were someone else, that "perfect" person who is never wrong.
If you have followed this blog for any amount of time, I hope you will understand that I am not attempting to "State the truth", I don't know the truth, I only know my truth, what I have learned and I usually write about things I am trying to figure out rather than things I "know". But, as we write our thoughts down they can appear to be statements of facts. It is the nature of writing opinions because it is a one way conversation, that is why I appreciate comments.
The best relationships are in person and have a give and take, questions and answers and opinions and thoughts and emotions, they involve an ever increasing understanding of one another. I think therefore I blog; but, the vast majority of my day involves interaction with numerous people. I am astounded at the variety of people I know and people around me are surprised.
There is one lady who is a friend of mine that used to work with me. We stay in contact and every now and then she will come to the office. She did not have a very high position and I do. She tells me that people are shocked that her and I are friends because of my position. Socially we are completely different; but, personally we just have fun discussing things. We shared our divorces pain as they occurred under similar circumstances and we shared our joys at each others endeavors. She is one of my most intimate friends and we never dated or wanted to, it wasn't about that it was about sharing similar interests. Because we are so different we share perspectives and understandings that we would not otherwise be exposed to, it is always exciting.
I think my brain stopped, it is still hot. I think I might just get something to eat. Be well and have a great week.
