A Day in Hiding

I needed some personal time so I took the day off and hid from the world. Sometimes little old autistic Pimpernel needs to be away from people, I think it is best for all parties concerned. My big achievement for the day was to drop off some money to buy food for the homeless from a foodbank.

While hiding I came across an article that I thought I should post here. It is about how rice that has been modified with human gene stuff is about to go commercial. The Washington Post - USDA Backs Production of Rice With Human Genes. Frankenstein would be proud. We are now going into open production of human-animal and human-vegetable hybrids. Does this bother anyone other than me? How is this different than cannibalism? There was a movie called "Soylent Green" It takes place in a time when food supplies are running out and they begin making food from people; but, nobody knows it. Personally I don't want to eat anything that has any human genes in it.

On another note, I received a very nice call from a former boss who wondered why I had not applied for a promotion. I gave my answer to him and he stated that he thought I was the only one that could do the job. I really appreciated that as we had not always seen eye to eye. It is nice to know that some people appreciate the efforts that I have put in.
