Dinner with Friends

I had dinner with friends tonight. I met with the newlyweds at a Brazilian restaurant. I really enjoy Brazilian food and being completely broke it was convenient to have someone feed me in such a lovely setting. For all my readers I do wish to remind you that I have many friends who take very lovely care of me. I want for nothing and want very little, I am quite happy at present.

Do you ever wonder what I am like in person if you don't know me personally? I mean people read this blog from countries I have never been to. I just wonder if you ever wonder what type of person I am in person? When I read someones blog I wonder about what they are like. In some manner, I believe reading another person's blog give me a better understanding of them than if I met them in person first. It is on blogs that we reveal more than we do to strangers because we know our readers are strangers.

You might have to read that last sentence twice. What if I am actually a 20 year old girl and this is my alter ego, a 51 year old man. What if this were some sort of experiment, a college paper. What if it was a way to create a fake persona for someone in the witness protection program? What if this were an FBI blog used to validate some lie for an informant? The possibilities are endless; but, the truth is that it is just me.

Perhaps you wonder why I write this blog. There was a reason in the beginning and I achieved it; but, I kept writing. Maybe so that some readers might think they begin to understand how I think, this ain't gonna do that. LOL. Maybe because I love to write, partly. Perhaps because I like the fact that I can give people quicker access to certain news stories that they might have missed, yeah that too. I am an old stage manager and if you have an audience, you should have a show.

I write it mostly because if there are readers than my writing has some value. I write because there are readers, because of you, the ones I know and the ones I don't.

So where do we go to from here? We have talked about so many things, corruption, pensions, God, sin, love, the odd things going on in the world. The two most popular posts were on "Carl Jung, Jim Carey and DMT" or something like that and "Pastor Carol Daniels". The one on Pastor Daniels was not typical of my writing as far as subject matter goes, it just really effected me. The one on Jung was a little more typical.

Should I write about the most popular things, cater to my audience? No, I cannot do that, this is for me too and not just the audience, we both have to win. It comes down to why do you read what I write in the first place. If you read it is either because you like the vagaries of what you will get or because you have a reason to read it.

I was on a plane with a man, he was the chair of Philosophy at a university in the east. He introduced himself and attempted to prove something to me that he had just given a speech about before the worlds philosophers (apparently they have conferences too). He didn't know it; but, he had lost the argument the minute he began it; but, it was a long flight so I decided to have some fun. 20 minutes before the six hour flight ended, I decided it was time to reel him in. He never saw it coming and had to concede that what he had just spoke on was illogical. Political Scientists should be philosophers too, organizing society should require that one be philosophical and that is what we train to do.

I don't know what to write about anymore. I enjoy writing about God the most. I have an award for Constitutional Law. I always compare reading the bible to reading the constitution, we shouldn't reword them, we should try to understand what they meant at the time. I read the bible to try and figure out the context of what occurred.

How bout we just see where this goes?

A New Direction

I am getting ready to take a new direction in my life. Starting is strange, to actually create my new life. I look at the world around me and wonder what is to come next. I have absolutely no fear about it, just anticipation. I am a little excited again. I need a new challenge.

What is behind this

The European Union has some interesting ideas about limiting movement in Europe. They want to outlaw gas powered cars by 2050. Why does this not surprise me? Oh yeah, because there are those who would seek to restrict your movement; but, there is more going on.

The Europeans are being pushed to their edge, they are being taught to hate the European Union and their currency. Why would anyone want that result? Better yet, why do the politicians go along this way knowing it will result in their elimination?

Let me put it another way, why did Gadahfi say to the world that he would kill everyone in his country to remain in power, the world couldn't stand by and allow that. Why say it in the first place and ensure that the rebels will never stop and that other countries will get involved?

In both cases and even here in the United States we see politiicians who believe they are entitled to rule because they are part of the in crowd and you are not. They believe being a part of the in crowd is all you need to be entitled to be in charge and the rules of the game are changing, they are not the ones changing the rules and they don't understand that. Do you not know how confused all the arab leaders are to see such an uprising?

What we are seeing is not an attack on democracy or freedom fighters, we are seeing an end to leadership reliance, to the cult of personality. Sounds exciting except what do you replace it with. The problem was not having leaders it was having ones who wanted to be and pandered to our biases and bigotry. Bigots do not get good leadership and neither do greedy societies because both will put up with so much that the whole society fails.

Interesting Fact About Death

Try reading this article. It is about what happens when you die. It is amazing how many people have near death experiences and what the nurses see. Doesn't it seem strange that they have a limited number of experiences. How come nobody has a near death experience where they meet a tree or go on a boat trip or go to Disneyland? Many of these people are not even Christians.

If you do not believe in an afterlife, what would you expect the images to be that you see when you are dying? Clearly people see images as they die and when they die, why are they all the same? How come nobody imagines that they are a fox or another person? How come the images are never about reincarnation even for those who believe in reincarnation?

How come aethiests have these same visions and often come back completely changed? Why don't we see more variety in what these visions are, it doesn't matter what people's background is, where they lived or what they believed. It doesn't matter that many of these people had never heard of a near death experience, they still had it and the nurses get used to it.

What aetheists say when the near death experience is about is oxygen deprivation. Okay; but why the same visions. They will then say it is because these people had heard similar stories; but, many of them didn't know about near death experiences. And it still doesn't explain why we don't hear about people imagining they are reawakening as a new person or turn into babies in the sky. That would make more sense if there were no God. Have a great night.

Do You Trust Your Government

I was buying cigarettes at a little gas station/store. The person behind the counter took my money and out of nowhere asked me if I trusted the government. I told her I did not and asked if anyone did anymore. She said she was 70 and that she had never seen it this bad in her life. I told her that we have to take some credit, if we vote for people we know are dishonest because we think they will benefit us then we condone their dishonesty.

This happened in Nevada a fairly conservative state. Does anyone in the world trust their governments anymore, not from what I can tell. They say a half million people protested in London against their government, thats a lot. How do we correct this because anarchy does not work, anarchy does not keep hospitals running, roads working or get the mail delivered.

The problem is not our system of government, that worked in the past. The problem is us and everyone trying to make sure that they keep theirs. The governments are afraid of this; but, they continue business as usual and insure their own death. Libya is a good example, you can change and share or go away. That is what is going on all over the planet. We have to change our hearts.

Because of the internet and other reasons, people are becoming aware of the fact that the world does not work the way they thought it did, they are becoming aware of the fact that their are a small number of individuals with a dispraportionate amount of influence over what happens in this world. This is nothing new. There are those who believe that this group wants to kill most of the world, this is nonsense. The conspiracy theorists find out about some group and something they said and want to believe that they have discovered all the secrets to how things work, they have not.

Be honest, have integrity and do not chase the cookies. Vote for those types of people even if their policies are not in line with your pocket book and then you will have a better government. And get rid of the bigotry, in the end we are all just sentient, self aware beings trying to have a decent experience. Don't do it at the expense of the other sentient beings. Be well.

I haven't forgot, just busy

Do you ever wonder how others see you. I never did until I got older, didn't really care how they saw me, just found it interesting that people would have an opinion. I was surprised to find such a wide variety of perspectives about me. I once met a woman, we went to dinner in Palm Springs. She was very intelligent, well mannered and attractive. She told me she had never met anyone quite like me, I still wonder what she meant.

What is the old saying, no matter where you go, there YOU are. We are all works in progress; but, I only ever wanted to be me. I like title of my blog, "The truth is inside you". Your truth is inside you, the truth of who you want to be, what you become, not what you can have, your choices that define who you really are. You can justify the bad ones; but, for that moment, that was who you were.

Define yourself with your best rather than the cookies that the world throws at you. England seems to be redefining itself. 250,000 people protested in England. They were protesting the budget cuts. They feel too controlled and will fight for the last cookie. Be well.

Hi Friends

I have had an amazing week. I have not been able to post and it may be a few days before I can go back to posting regular. I will say that yesterday I had an adventure. I was stranded in the snow on top of a mountain. I was in a white out and stranded a mile high. I will tell you about it later; but, it was a true adventure. Be well.

Change of Plans

I was supposed to go somewhere today; but, as I was getting ready to leave had a visit from Fed Ex. They had the papers needed to return my house to the mortgage company. It also said that I had one week to get the papers in or it would be a foreclosure rather than a deed in lieu.

In order to get the documents ready I had to meet with my ex-wife. I thought she would be difficult again and wasn't too excited about the whole thing. My eldest made the arrangements, I met with the ex, everything was civil and I congratulated her on graduating school.

With these documents it is finally over. It has taken more than three years to put this horrible experience behind me. The notary we used was surprised that my ex had kept my last name. I just shook my head when she asked me because I don't understand. It doesn't really matter to me, the important thing is that we are no longer contractually connected except for some credit cards I have to pay off; but, she doesn't use them anymore. Well she also gets half my retirement so I guess we are contractually bound by my giving her money for the rest of my life; but, I don't have to actually do anything, my employer will send her the money when it is time and I won't even notice.

Basically my point was that it is over. When it began I was shocked then sad then angry and now it is in the past. I am not sure I have an emotion about it anymore. I don't know how to explain that. I can't say I am joyous and I can't say I am sad. I am more relieved than anything else, relieved that I can now make plans for myself. The house was the last thing tying me down to anything. I don't mean that I don't have connections and people that matter to me, I mean I can move around and live wherever I want. It feels good.

End games are always the most interesting. New games are fun; but, they are work, back to basics. What do I believe, what do I believe I should do and what do I need to do it. I am looking for a new victim, any takers? LMAO. I used to have so little time to think about solving problems and now I have all the time in the world. I need a challenge and it needs to be big.

When I saw my ex, I didn't feel anything other than dreading a problem. She looked okay, we didn't have any cross words and I just wanted to get it over with. It wasn't bad like going to the dentist, I just wanted to do what we had to do and return to my life. I don't hate her, she is just someone I knew now. I feel I can now maybe begin to think about having a serious relationship again; but, I don't feel a need to do anything about it. Right now it just feels good to be free.

I don't regret my choices. I don't regret that I married had kids or spent all of my efforts on them. I did what I believed in and still do. Still, I have never lived without being responsible for others. I don't mind responsibility, it is just nice to not have as much for awhile.

I got to see my ex-assistant and always friend this week. Actually, I had a big week I got to spend time with two of my friends. My ex-assistant is kicking some major rear end in his new job and I was very proud of how much he learned, it wasn't easy for him to work for me, how could it be? He came to work for me when it all began and will always be there.

Closing doors, we should always check ourselves when a door closes, make sure you brought your keys and your wallet. Make sure you have everything you need to go to the new place. I am good to go, I just need to pick a destination. I lost everything so I only have to bring my dog, my computer, a phone and some clothes. I can pick up the rest on the way. I travel light; but, I only travel by my rules.

Trips are better when we have a good traveling companion, I don't have one right now; but, I will. I will find someone who wants to go to where I am going, we will have to share that in common. A common purpose. Life is a journey and it is good to have an appropriate traveling partner. I wish everyone, including my ex-wife, to find the traveling partner that is best for both of them, it ain't me.

I lost a day. I can still do what I need to do this week; but, I lost a day. I didn't really lose it, it just wasn't what I had planned. I can now approach my week feeling that I have resolved some lingering issues and can move forward. I guess I lost a day and I gained my freedom. Be well.

I Dont Like This Post

Not long ago I posted about the FCC's plan to take over control of local public easements. When I first read about it, I was ticked. Too much federal control already. If done properly it could be a good thing. If it were done through regional transportation authorities, it keeps control local; but, reduce costs, give lots of money to cities, reduce their costs and improve the roads, something no city has done.

Most importantly to me, it would give millions of people jobs. If the fed takes the control they have to hire millions to do the work. The roads will be better, the cities will be better and it will be cheaper. I don't like giving up local control of anything, I am possessive. The roads are in terrible condition and will fail in the next 30 years if we don't do something now.

I had expected the fed to take over control of roads for awhile; but, I didn't see them using the FCC, that was brilliant, nobody even noticed what is going on. If they do take the control it will be a year before the court cases settle it and the pricing. This is too funny, the time it takes to prepare.

I have an affinity for streets. It is on streets that we meet each other, it is where we have the opportunity to travel, to go as we please. Tree lined streets are the best even if trees hurt sidewalks. The modern street system is the single greatest construction of all times. The pyramids are a joke compared to the street systems, gigantic paperweights, a testament to engineering, not usefulness. The great wall of China couldn't even do it's job, another testament to engineering. The street systems are what gets you fed and delivers your toys.

What is unique about the street system is that it's maintenance is not coordinated. Its construction wasn't even coordinated, people built the roads they needed and eventually the systems all got connected. It is the single greatest construction project in history nothing else can even compete. Take the total number of roads worldwide, the amount of materials and labor that went into it and how it effects every part of your life. It has such a great effect that we don't even think about it.

Odd Odds and Ends

I thought I might post links to some of the odder things out there. Consider this a "did you know that people believe this" type of thing. I am not advocating any of it just documenting.

Lets talk about Pornography

No we are going to be filthy, I want to talk about porn in a different way and for a different reason. Get your minds out of the gutter, this is Pimpernel not Hugh Hefner.

ICANN is the organization that determines domain names. They are the ones who give you a way to find something on the internet. They are controlled and paid for by the federal government. They rarely come up in the news so when they did I thought I might point it out.

ICANN has given a new designation to sites that have porn, the designation is xxx. This means that sites which have porn will have a separate designation making them easier to find and easier to block. I am not necessarily against this. Question is how it will be used and whether or not it is a blueprint for designating other types of sites, for instance controversial sites or mean sites (like the Nazis).

Will the use of the xxx be mandatory for adult sites and how will what is porn be determined? I said was coming a couple of years ago and was told I was paranoid, I am paranoid and it did happen. I am paranoid because people do plan and do regulate and it follows a pattern. It starts vague, attempts to "protect" children and then regulates small. After that it just increases in the regulations.

So what is pornography? It is not naked people according to many, There are many painting and sculptures of naked people that are considered art. What is the difference between a painting of a naked women and a movie of naked women? One justice of the supreme court said that porn may not be definable but he knew it when he saw it.

Are stories pornography? What about how to books? Is a book about how to have sex pornography? There are people who like to dress up like cute animals and have sex, they are called furries, would their websites be porn or comedy (not making fun of them but it is sort of amusing)? If I take a picture of my naked baby, is that porn? What if I send it to someone who finds it sexually arousing, the picture didn't change?

Once I grew up a little, enough to understand that boys and girls were different, the first naked breast I saw was of an African tribes woman. I could see that in school; but, I couldn't see it an American woman's breast in school because that was deemed inappropriate.

Perhaps the base question is wrong. The question should not be what is pornography but what should children be exposed to. Seeing breasts doesn't seem to have hurt people in the Amazon or the tribes people of Africa. What is different here?

I don't want to see people go to the bathroom, I want to be able to avoid seeing that on the internet. Is it pornography, I am not convinced it is; but, I don't want to see it. I think the issue for me is how can avoid seeing it.

If you search for images of certain things you are bound to find porn even when you are not looking for it. I used Yahoo to search for "breast", it returned 405,000,000 hits. Some were on breast cancer, some were on breast feeding and some were just pictures of breasts. I assume that if there were a xxx designation for websites I could block the ones that are "porn"; but, who would decide which pictures were obscene and which were okay. I mean the breast is going to look the same.

How bout this. Are feet pornographic? What about a site about foot fetishes, the foot didn't change. It is still just a foot and we can show those in public. Not long ago, and I wrote about it at the time, a professor had two students perform a naked sex act in his college room. Was that right or wrong.

I haven't seen many porno films and I don't frequent strip joints. Not my thing. In college they showed "Deep Throat". I had never seen a porno film and went with some people I knew. I found it boring and stupid. It was hailed as the first mainstream porn film, I thought that was just an excuse and still do.

There was a video of a guy who was captured by terrorists and had his head cut off and filmed. It was all over the internet, I haven't and don't intend to watch it. I don't need to see that, I understood what happened. Reading about it was bad enough, I didn't need to see it. I found that to be pornography.

In general what is pornography seems to be linked to the society one is in. Each society finds something obscene and there is no agreement. It would be hard to define porn in America anymore with what is shown on television and at the movies. Children who watch MTV reality shows see endless images of people making out and having sex.

We have had "porn" for as long as there have been people. It must meet some need. I like looking at women, I find them attractive. I like women's legs. I wrote about one woman's legs. Women look different then men and we like the way they look. I don't want to see my daughters naked, no thank you very much, they are grown women. Is this inconsistent, not for me.

I have seen many babies naked, it is cute. Their little baby butts; but, I don't find it cute when they are older. I have changed many diapers, once they are out of diapers I believe they should learn to keep some things private. How can we promote this in our children if we are watching porn?

Lots of questions and few answers. These questions have been in and out of the supreme court and their answers keep changing. I don't think ICANN will find the answers any easier than the supreme court has.

The Stupidity of Crowdsourcing

Hi all, I am back and feel better. Every now and then I get sinus headaches and they can last a couple of days. No need to feel sorry for me, I was born with a very small nasal passage and have a deviated septum. When I was young I used to get cluster headaches and believe me, those are wayyyyyyy worse.

I want to talk about problem solving. We have developed a nation of people who cannot solve problems on their own. Fear and greed and selfishness do not lend themselves to problem solving and that is where we are at. You cannot solve problems by ignoring them or attempting to hide from them, it doesn't work that way. I have mentioned before how nothing works anymore, not a single industry. This is being compounded by the fact that the last generation that was taught to problem solve is retiring.

This may sound a little harsh' but, it is true and it is recognized in business. Compartmentalization is what we have, specialists and experts. In business we have taken the Peter Principle to its limits. We promote based on personal connections rather than putting people where they are best suited. If you have a broken system you fix it, you don't try and put new bandaids on it.

The new management concept is crowdsourcing. It is believed that this is a way to keep the failed system working. The concept is simple, you attempt to harness the intelligence of a very large group of people under the assumption that the combined knowledge of the group will find the solution to any problem. This is a compete failure of management.

The basic idea is that if you have enough monkeys on enough typewriters eventually they will write a great book. Another example is that if we harness the intelligence of every five year old in the world they will be able to solve any problem. The implementation is being done through social networking. We used to call this "group think" and it failed, it always fails and it will always fail.

Big changes require original thinkers, outliers. Jesus, Buddha and Socrates changed the world, never wrote a word; but, they did it because of their philosophies. A million people combining the same knowledge will not result in the theories that Einstein developed. The greatest computer in the world is useless in such situations, it does not have originality, creativity. Even if a computer would have figured out what Einstein did, it would be useless because you need a human to understand what it means and implement it.

The philosophy behind group think is what destroyed this nation. There is a movie coming out called "Limitless". The idea is that you can take a pill that will make you smarter and then you can compete with people smarter than you. Transhumanists believe that we can augment our intelligence and abilities with technology, same garbage. Wisdom is understanding the depth and meaning of things, not just answers.

The implementation of the new group thinks is being done by crowdsourcing. The attempt is to utilize social media to find the best answers to problems. On the federal level it is being implemented using social media applications (check out apps.gov).

What I am saying may sound anti-democratic, it is. We are not all born the same, nor do we all have the same abilities. Societies move ahead because someone has a vision and other people recognize its truth and follow. Group think limits growth and denies responsibility, nobody is responsible for the final decision.

Why have we given up on growing up? Why have we given up on working together in the place where we are best suited? Partly because we have no faith in our leaders and partly because we like to believe we are all equal. We are not all equal, we deserve to be treated fairly and we all matter; but, that is where it ends.

Our greatest discoveries were not made by groups, they were made by obsessive compulsive people who focused on some area of understanding and tested everything. He who fails to learn from history is doomed to repeat it. It is social arrogance to believe that we with technology can avoid history; but, we keep trying. No matter how many sheep you gather together, they cannot replace one sheepdog.

What we are attempting to do with direct democracy, crowdsourcing and technology is work around the need for geniuses. The attack on people with Aspergers and attempts to "cure", if successful, means that we will not have any warning devices. We don't like knowing there are people who know better than us; but, they do.

IBM made a computer that competed against the best Jeopardy players ever; but, it didn't get all the questions right. 99% is not enough when the unimagined comes up, that is not nature. Nature requires variation for survival. Attempting to work around nature is simply retarded, you need to work with nature and learn from it.

If this sounds like a rant, it is. The real devil in this type of thinking is that we are attempting to create solutions that no one individual understands completely. That allows us all to be taken advantage of and justifies not listening to the voices that do understand because the crowd wont and the crowd decides.

I am not anti-democratic, I believe the wishes of the people should be listened to and that society should set the direction. I also believe that people should learn as much as they can. I believe we need to get back to basics. Lets start by teaching people to be moral and refusing to have leaders who are not moral.

We have given up on morality and that is the death toll of a society. Charlie Sheen says that we would all be him if we could and too many believe that. I wouldn't be Charlie Sheen, I believe him to be immoral. Rather than managing his urges he indulges in them as much as he can and that is the state of this nation. We no longer believe in boundaries, if we don't turn back we are doomed. Be well.

Why I Am Happy

This blog is really lame and I don't know why anyone reads it. Having said that, one thing I like is why people read it and who reads it. I find amusing that two people in South Korea have been reading this for so long (they haven't in the last few days; but, there is a lot going on for them), the other thing I love is that the second most searched terms that led people here were "Pastor Carol Daniels". I love the fact that others are looking at that case. I enjoy knowing that others are still interested in her horrible death and I hope that means that someday this will be solved.

Unbelievable

The FCC has announced the intention to regulate all public right of ways in the United States. I know about public right of ways, I was asked to write a book about them, I didn't write it. I am not going to write it, well, maybe the history of public right of ways, it won't matter if the fed decides to regulate public right of ways.

Texas believes they should be paid for their right of ways by the fed. That is funny, it is very funny. Basically, Texas wants to sell their right of ways to the fed and you know what, the manner for doing it was determined TEN YEARS AGO. LOL. And everyone, except me, did it wrong. LMAO.

Only certain people reading this will know what I am talking about and not many at that. I find that amusing. What I find even more amusing is that if the Fed were to pay cities for their right of ways and take responsibility for their maintenance, the streets would be better taken care of and the funds would offset the losses that municipalities are facing. It is a cookie chasing world after all.

Money is an illusion, it is nothing more than a paper promise. People break promises all too often. In the end, there is only the truth and without the truth you can't even have love.

Now, if the Fed takes over the streets, do they end up maintaining them? They don't currently, the cities and counties do. The fed contributes money; but, they do not supervise nor choose the work. Now I will tell you wisdom. If you are going to take over something, let it completely fail first (buy low, sell high). The industry is as screwed up as it can be and that makes the fix easy. Any improvement is a win.

Daylight Savings Time

Daylight savings time, lets talk about it a little. Firstly, lets define it, in the United States it is when we move our clocks either one hour ahead or one hour behind, except in Arizona where I don't believe they use it.

A good analysis done by the Federal government shows that it doesn't save energy. Yet, in 2005 the Energy Policy Act was passed. As part of that act, daylight savings time was changed. The person who wanted it changed was a congressman named Brad Sherman. I have talked about him but thought I might bring it back up again.

Now I first found out about Mr. Sherman when I researching daylight savings time. Oh, why was I researching daylight savings time, because of the stock market crash. You see, I had predicted to the day and hour when the crash would occur, in advance and notified people. We wont go into why I thought the market would crash when it did. Anyways, when the market crashed a couple of things happened. Firstly, for the first time in history hedge funds rather than banks bought 3/4s of all the treasury bonds. Also the computers went down for that hour that monitor transactions and finally, Europe and Asia couldn't trade with us because they were off by an hour do to the change in daylight savings time and didn't know what was happening here.

That is why I began researching daylight savings time, I wondered why it had been changed because Asia and Europe got pounded by not being able to sell their stock while the prices dropped like mad, they lost lost billions in that one hour. That is when I became aware of Mr. Sherman. He is married to a "foreign affairs agent" according to Wikipedia.

Mr. Sherman is sort of an interesting fellow, he is very smart and well educated. UCLA and Harvard law school, this guy is sharp as a tack. He is the same guy that called the Alex Jones program and Alex asked him why he had said that congress had been threatened with martial law if they didn't pass the nearly trillion dollar bailout. Mr. Sherman said some had stated that they had been told that; but, that nobody said anyone would get shot. Odd words and a strange place to say them. Oh, he also spoke at the Church of Scientology's reopening in Washington D.C.. He has been called one of the church of Scientology's best friends in Washington.

Mr. Sherman is also an accountant. He sits on financial committees and foreign affairs committees. I am going to guess that he knew that when we changed our daylight savings time, foreigners would not all adjust to our change. Funny thing, being a financial genius, I can't understand why he didn't do anything about the housing crash, let me explain.

Before we had the housing crash we had a inverted yield curve. The reason this is interesting is because the federal reserve keeps track of this curve and we had one in 2005 and 2006. When an inverted yield curve occurs it means that you are about to have a recession. Greenspan was asked about it at the time and he said he didn't think anything would happen. The crash occurred in 2007. Of all of the people in congress, Mr. Sherman should have known this. Heck the inverted yield curve was how I knew the market would crash and when.

I have written about this before; but, in honor of daylight savings time I want to bring it up again. Hey, since I moved a month ago, I now live in his district. That is ironic. Mr. Sherman seems to be a pleasant fellow, he is very knowledgeable and seems popular in the district having been a congressman since 1997. I would love to ask him why he didn't see the inverted yield curve or make a big deal about it. I would go to one of his town hall meetings and ask; but, nobody would understand what I was asking him and probably just get annoyed.

Oh, the current daylight savings time can be changed at anytime. If I were Asia or Europe, I would watch for us to change it.

Direct Democracy in Europe

A number of months ago I wrote about what I believe we will see in the future, specifically people voting directly on laws. This is traditionally done through "initiative" or "referendum". I specifically stated that I believed Europe was headed in this direction, well it has begun.

People will look at this as a good thing, people will think they now have the power to control their destiny, that their opinions matter. It is nonsense, you will see dumbed down laws and true tyranny of the masses.

Still Stunned by what I Have Seen in Japan

I watched some videos today of the tsunami in Japan, many of the pictures were taken from helicopters. Some people asked why they didn't see more people in the water. In Japan they have sirens that alert them to Tsunamis and the people know to go to higher ground. They did not have warning sirens in the Indian Ocean Tsunami of 2004 many of the islands that were hit did not have a warning system.

The Japanese have one of the best civil defense systems in the world and their population is trained. In Indonesia in 2004 we saw pictures of people who went out to look at the waters as the receded, you will not find that in Japan except by foreigners.

The horrible reality is that this tsunami and quake were so large that even the Japanese were not fully prepared. What I kept thinking as I watched the videos was the enormity of the event and how it looked like models rather than real buildings. The buildings and cars were moved so effortlessly by the water, the water overtook the land and just kept moving in. It appeared at times as if it would never stop. Sometimes we forget how powerful the ocean is.

Living in Los Angeles we think about earthquakes but not about tsunamis; but, in fact we have been hit by them in the past, rare; but, it does occur. In coastal cities it is not uncommon to have wastewater plants next to the ocean and I have always thought this was a bad idea. In the event of tsunami in California it is possible that many of these plants could be destroyed and that would mean no sewage treatment. I hope that this is not true in Japan; however, I suspect it is.

I can't really think about anything else for the moment. The thought of what is happening in Japan seems to me the most important thing at the moment. I am not sure that I have anything to add to what is happening; but, I want to talk about it and try and process it. I wonder how I would feel if I were at my favorite restaurant (it overlooks Santa Barbara) and saw a wave come in and destroy Santa Barbara, I don't know how my mind could accept without the blessing of the passage of time.

This event is going to effect the Japanese for decades to come. Japan is one of the most technologically advanced countries in the world and had prepared better than any other nation for tsunamis and still they could not protect themselves. Let us be very clear, if it wasn't for their preparations, this would have been even worse. Still, it is pretty horrible.

I don't know what else to say. The Prime Minister of Japan said they were going to build a new Japan and that it would be based on the choices of all the Japanese. I think that is the right way to look at it. What happened has happened; but, the only thing they can do now is plan for the future.

A Link to where you can donate for the relief effort. I am not endorsing any of them, especially not the Red Cross; but, I wanted people to know how to. Be well.

If the Fallout Comes to California

High all. Based on the jet stream's speed and direction, it has been said that if the Japanese nuclear power plant blows then the fallout is coming to the west coast. If that were to happen then in ten days it would be here in Los Angeles and reports say that one reactor has had a partial meltdown, one building has already blown and a total of 6 reactors are at risk.

Hmmm, that sounds like a lot of radiation could come our way. I am going to get enough cigarettes and wine to last. I won't bother eating, just the wine and smokes please. LOL. I might go to Vegas and wait it out, I could do that. Hang with my sister and cousin. Might even bring my daughters. LOL.

There was a book that became a movie with an all star cast, it even had Fred Astaire. It is about the "end of the world". It was called "On the Beach". The story is that there was a tremedous nuclear war between Russia and the US and the whole northern hemisphere is now irradiated and everyone dies. The radiation moves south and eventually gets to Australia and kills them all. The story is about some people in Australia and how they cope with the impending end.

That is what I want to talk about. Firstly, I don't think the world will end or that the west coast will be radiated and us all die. I don't see that happening. I do understand the science; but, I don't believe it will occur. Best part is, if I am wrong you won't be able to call me on it because I will be dead, I aint leaving. I certainly am not moving to Australia, lmao.

I do like the hypothetical and want to dance with it for a second. If you believed a nuclear cloud was coming to where you live, you couldn't get out and just had to wait, how would you spend your time? Life can be like that, it could be cancer, it could be anything.

I used to ask this question. If your doctor told you that you only had 24 hours left to live, how would you spend that last day. The answer will tell you a lot about your beliefs and priorities. The second question I used to ask is "There is this deserted island, it has normal fresh water, regular pacific fruits, vegtables and domesticated, tame, wild boar that were easy to kill and plenty of good fish. You are stranded there and can absolutely never leave; but, you get to bring five things and one person. What five things would you bring and who would the person be?

I would bring, the bible, a flint kit for making fire, a large skillet pan, rope and nice sleeping bags. I will not say who the person I would bring is. If I only had 24 hours left, I would spend it with friends and family and have a nice meal, laugh and listen to music.

If the nuclear reactors in Japan explode and a radiation cloud is coming her that is going to kill me, I am going to buy wine and cigarettes, I am going to call my daughters to come on down and chill (only need ten days of food). I would probably read some Jane Austim, I would definately listen to music and I would thank God for having given me a life worth living. I would thank him for letting me be me and testing me to the point where I can say I made my choices. I have made mistakes in the past; but, I like my choices now. I also believe I can make even better ones in the future; but, I like how I have stuck by my choices and based them on what was best for all.

Never make a bucket list (the things you want to do before you die), live a life of decisions, chose your poison. Be you and be the best you that you can be, the one that is true to your intent, not the one responsive to your urges, one of self determination. That is the best, then, you don't need any bucket list.

You only live once (at least on this earth) so live it as you. The book of John starts, In the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God. This is fascinating stuff. In the beginning was the word. What does that mean? It is a very tricky comment that is usually left ignored. What was the word that made all the difference, we know that answer "I am". His name, the name that people were not allowed to speak or know. He said it meant "I am".

This is a really cool puzzle. Existance, sentience starts with the recognition that we are self determined beings, that WE are. Words are very important in the bible. Consider the story of the tower of Babel, their languages are confused. Back to my point, the "word" was "I am", self recognition; but, lets look at the next statement. And the word was with God. What does that mean, we are told that Jesus was the word; but, there could be other explanations.

What if the "word" was Jesus, what would that mean? It would mean that self determination was Jesus. That being an independent, self aware being was being like Jesus. Interesting stuff. Then it says that "the word" was with God. That is really tricky, the word is God and was with God, how does that work?

Here is a possible answer. If self awareness and self determination are what the "word" describes than by being ourselves we can be a part of God and with God at the same time. That is mental gymnastics without a lie. What if to know God was to be yourself, what if that was his great plan? What if we chose who we were and that is what allows us to be us for eternity? If that were true than every choice you made would be defining your eternal being. That is a little heavy isn't it?

Anyone dumb enough to read my stupid ramblings had better expect this sort of post from me. This blog is free to examine anything and everything. Boundaries are defined, not imposed. Which boundaries we chose, define us. That is also very heavy. Do you chose boundaries that hold no risk, that do not risk true love? You can only go as far as you allow yourself to make mistakes. You should however measure the risk to reward ratio. Not just the risk to you, the risk to those you might impact also.

It is Saturday night, I am resting at my computer and listening to music and writing and wondering so many things that I do not write. It is peaceful and quiet in my moment, I hope it is in yours. Every moment we are alive we define ourselves, we impact others and decide our fates. Decide yours and be you. Be well.

I Forgot about the Contamination

There was an explosion at one of the nuclear power plants in Japan. Apparently the rods are also melting there. Now, because of how the jetstream is moving, if the plant explodes, I live where the radiation will fall in ten days. That is amusing. The funniest part is that more would fall where I live than in Japan, because of the jet stream. LOL.

Pimpernel will be around for a bit and so will you.

Short Post Odd Thought

I tell people to "do the right thing for the right reason". I think it is a nice, short and complete way to sum up the bible. I don't tell people to be good. I never really thought about it; but, it makes sense. We cannot be good, I can't. It says there is none good but god and yet what is to do good. I think I like my definition, to do the right thing for the right reason. The world does not shoot for this, they seek the cookie and then to find a reason that would justify their actions. I will stick with my definition and now I like it even more.

Japan's Nuclear Power Plants Damage

I deeply regret to report that one of Japan's nuclear power plants appears to be getting ready to melt down. With radiation levels 1,000 times normal, I question if peole can survive even tryingt to shut it down. That is what happened in Russia; but, people did go in knowing they would die. I would expect that the Japanese have people who would risk their lives to do the same and I pray for them.

It has been reported that two other power plants in Japan are also crippled; but, less has been reported on them. I cannot comprehend what three Chernobyl events in one country, at one time will be like, if it were to happen. Let us pray that it does not. For the Japanese the images they are seeing look like a bad Godzilla movie; but, it is not a movie.

The official claim of 1,000 dead is just the verified, the real number is going to be much, much higher. One report said that 88,000 people were missing; but, nothing is reliable. This event has alos apparently made the earth spin slightly faster. Peace be with you.

Japan's 8.9 Earthquake

I am not quite sure what to say. Just before I went to bed last night I read about their earthquake. I have been in a number of large quakes, 6.4, 6.5, 6.9 and numerous smaller ones. You get used to those. Los Angeles had really good laws regarding buildings being earthquake resistant. Japan has really good building regulations also and the people there are accustomed to earthquakes; but, 8.9 is unreal. It is the largest recorded and known earthquake to ever hit Japan and it lasted a long time (that makes a real difference).

As bad as the earthquake was, the tsunami was incomprehensible. I watched some videos today of what occurred and it is stunning. My prayers go out to the people of Japan. There will be and there are aftershocks and those can be big also. Still, with hopefully the worst of it over comes the big job, the cleanup. I think the Japanese will do the best job that can be done in such a situation.

What is also disturbing is that Yellowstone seems to be awakening and that could be world changing. Yesterday morning I was talking to some people at work about these things (not the earthquake as it had not happened yet) and it certainly does seem as if the earth is being very active. On some levels it really doesn't matter what the reason is, bottom line is I am betting we see more intense disasters all over the world.

There are stories about how teenagers have attacked and even killed their parents because they had their Xbox or PS3 taken away, how will our society handle such a disaster in the United States? We didn't do too well with Katrina. California has seen it's share of disasters, fires, earthquakes, floods, riots... We sort of just expect it and that helps to deal with them. It is probably how the people in the midwest deal with tornadoes (which scare me silly); for them it is expected. A 8.9 earthquake in the midwest would take out more than you can comprehend.

So, if the earth is getting active whether it be because of the shifting magnetic poles or because of the sun or because these things happen in swarms or whatever reason, how do we prepare? The answer is, you cannot. The best preparation is knowing what to do afterwords. The Japanese are one of the best prepared people in the world and are used to large quakes; but, that doesn't prevent them and it doesn't prevent tsunamis.

The best preparation starts with your mind, you have to accept that at any given time you can lose everything you have or die. That is the truth of life on this planet. The other thing you have to know is that you can rebuild, your life, your home, your city. There was very little left standing in San Francisco after the big quake and fire in the early 1900s, they rebuilt and it is a beautiful city.

Whether one believes we are in the "end times" or that high tech weapons such as HAARP, the shift in the magnetic pole, the moon's proximity to the earth, unseen planets, a second sun, or any other reason is behind the odd times, something is not right and we all know it. We may not want to accept that things are changing, people don't like change and want to hold onto their cookies; but, change is here in every part of our lives.

If you are not directly effected by the Japanese quake, you can learn from it. You are alive today and have a roof over your head, be content with that and let your friends and family know that you love them. Take the time you have and forgive those who have hurt you, you don't have to be around them to forgive. You don't even have to enjoy being around everyone, there are people I don't want to see. Do something nice for someone today and be glad that you can. Be well.

Another Earthquake, a big one

I live in Los Angeles, have for most of my life, love it with all my heart. I have been in all the big earthquakes since being born. I don't even mind them. Japan just had an 8.8 earthquake, that is really big, I mean really, really big. How many 8.8 earthquakes have their been in history that we know of, not many, if any. That is big, that is terrifying.

Tell me nothing bizarre will happen in the next two weeks, oh, didn't I ask that already? I believe I did, what time is it?

Pimpernel is Working Things Out in His Head

As much as I enjoy reading about Zombie fungus, two suns, illegal anti-union laws, dead fish, corruption and general silliness. I have something else on my mind tonight, pieces coming together. And I say it is about darn time. Peek a Boo is a fun game and all but eventually people must show themselves.

Well, over the past two weeks or so a pattern is emerging, I like patterns. I believe a ball is being put in play as it is now time for more changes. I think I shall be coy and wait to be properly courted. I am still a young, shy and bashful thing after all. Yes, the Pimpernel is being oblique or is it obtuse, either works.

Maybe I should talk about love. What the heck is love and how do you know that you do in fact love? We each see colors and hear sounds slightly differently. Each of us experiences the world just a bit differently, you may get colder than I do, you may feel more or less pain, how would we be able to compare what is love for us?

The only complete love is the love we would feel with God. Well, if we haven't been with him we have no way of gauging what love feels like, we have no benchmark. If you have never truly loved then the most you ever felt towards another person is the best idea you have of what love is. You cannot know who you loved the most until the end. Only Adam and Eve new better.

It says to love God with all your heart and your neighbor as yourself. Do you know what that really means? Do you think you are perfect? Are you absolutely in love with yourself 24 hours a day or do you feel down sometimes. The more we lie to ourselves the bigger the swings. So how much do we love ourselves and how much should we, if, we are to love our neighbor as ourselves? This is where it gets tricky, the first answer is that we should love ourselves completely and ignore our shortcomings; but, that means to lie to ourselves. That isn't love. It means that we should love the truth in ourselves, our self definition. The more we can accept another, the more we can love. God accepts us completely, he created us and knew our range, he didn't create anyone to be hated by him, only to grow as much as we chose within our boundaries.

What a post, huh, I mean I am all over the map tonight and didn't even have a place to begin. Heck kids, they can't all be winners. LOL. Have a great day and a wonderful weekend, believe in odd, believe in anomalies, believe in the incongruent.

More Dead Fish

So millions of fish died in Redondo Beach from suffication. The guess is that there was too many fish in one place at one time and they used up all the oxygen. That is what they are claiming. That is ridiculous, simply irrational. If the oxygen in the ocean had dropped you would see a complete variety of fish. Lets also consider how this is going on all over the world at the same time.

What do you bet that we see more of this? I ask again, what is going on and how come we don't know the truth? There was also a 7.2 earthquake in Japan and no damage, how does that occur?

For the past couple of days I have sort of just been pondering, not really focused on anything. I read the news and it is more of the same. There was one story about how lakes in Australia were glowing green at night with pictures. That was kind of funny.

Are we living in the new normal, a normal where the impossible happens on a daily basis? We are entering an era where people are not surprised by anything and accept everything. The "alternative media" is just as predictable as the traditional media. Alex Jones, David Icke, Above Top Secret... all say the same thing, heck, they post the same reposts. They have nothing new to offer, most are just twisting things that Bill Cooper exposed years ago.

What insanity can I post that exceeds the insanity of the normal news? If I post it nobody will believe it; but, if the same thing is posted on Alex Jones then millions will believe it, how is that different than the traditional media.

Today is ash Wednesday. Lets talk about that for a second. Ash Wednesday is the first day of lent. It is supposed to be the day that Jesus spent 40 days fasting in the desert and that then he was tempted by Satan. Tradition teaches that we are to fast and repent, not so sure I agree with tradition. While I only eat one meal a day and that qualifies as fasting to most of the churches, I am not intentionally doing it, I just don't get that hungry anymore, I am guessing my metabolism is slow. If I don't fast by intent then it is not a fast. As for repentance, I did that long ago, I am not new to Christianity.

But, lets look beyond the tradition to what it is remembering. Jesus spent 40 days in the desert before beginning his public ministry. Why? Why did he need to be alone in the desert before going public, maybe he needed some time to himself before he would be surrounded by people, maybe (being human also) he needed a rest before the real work began, that would be a very human thing.

While in the desert it says the Devil tempted him, people so misunderstand that. The temptation was the offer, it does not mean that the choice was even remotely difficult for Jesus. When I lived in Santa Monica after separating from my wife, I had women hit me up on a daily basis and they were very attractive (don't ask me why, I have no idea, you would have to ask them). I never felt tempted as I was attempting to reconcile. By Satan attempting to "tempt" Jesus, he just showed that he wasn't that smart. He didn't understand humans or the nature of God, no individual sentient being could and that is the message.

If you are tempted then abstinence is a good way to show yourself that you can control your urges and I support you. If you have a problem with overeating then the blessing of this time is that you can prove to yourself that you can control your eating, if you have a problem with anything then this is a good time to see that you can avoid your urges and that is empowering. You have to know what you are capable of before you can know who you want to be. Wow, that is a mind blower.

If you haven't tested yourself, how can you know what you are capable of. That is my problem with this world of people who wish to be pampered, to live in excess, to only have ease. They need to fast and abstain, it might teach them something about themselves. If you already know and have done it then I don't think you need to fast from the same thing every year. When you have lost everything you get the freedom to know yourself. Security is an illusion, control is an illusion and death is an illusion. You can see that when you have lost everything and lived it.

Losing is even more important that winning in terms of learning. Charlie Sheen chants, "winning" and believes that is the end all and be all, what you get versus what you learn, having versus being, growing versus having it all. What would you choose, so many people want to win the lottery and think that will make them happy and so few are when they do. Happiness is an unending series of growth that allows you to see the world in a grain of sand.

We cannot give everyone everything; but, we can create a virtual world where they can feel empowered and that will be enough for most. There was a "Twilight Zone" (not Twilight the movie) where a petty criminal is killed. He arrives at a place he believes to be Heaven, in this place he gets everything he wants, women, money, the finest penthouse, everything he ever wanted. When he gambles he only wins. After a while he wants variety because there is no challenge, nothing to work for, nothing to attain and therefore no reason to learn. He is told by his "angel" that he is not in heaven, he is in hell. Close to the truth.

Perhaps this earth, this reality, is here to challenge us, to see how much we can take, how much we are committed to being us, how good we can be and how bad we can be, after that we could define ourselves, our urges, our beliefs, our intent; but, we could do it knowing our limitations. Informed consent. Life is short but choosing who we are is eternity. Remember my first post on the first version of this blog, we are sentient beings and that is all that we know exists.

We should be challenged; but, the challenges need not crush us or be too simple, we should be challenged as we are ready to be challenged. That is the goal of life. Not the easy life, the life that lets us know the most about us. The goal of life is to have the decision making power over who we will be in our eternity. This life was not a challenge for Jesus, it is a challenge for us. He showed us what we could be, we decide what we will be. How far do you wish to push yourself and how much do you want comfort?

Humility is a funny thing, we should all be humble; but, we should all be bold about being ourselves. That is the Charlie Sheen enigma. He is all about having everything he wants and believes that defines him, the stuff he has. We are not defining ourselves by what we have. That defines what we are willing to give up to get stuff. He wasn't this bold when he was coming up. The person that impresses me is the person who has nothing and is bold about their limitations and boundaries. The one who is willing to have nothing in exchange for having everything, themselves, self-determination.

People whine and cry that life is hard, they should celebrate it. Every challenge is the chance to define your true self. I have heard people tell me how bold they are and then when challenged I have watched them fold like paper cups. Here is a question for my readers, if you were being tested by Satan in the desert and he offered you to be king of the earth, to have everything if you worshiped him, would you do it. Only you know the answer; but, did you pause and consider it? If you did define yourself then this was an easy question. Now lets look at what Satan offered to Jesus, the world. Jesus had already defined himself and it wasn't even an issue.

Jesus is the best we could possibly be, a goal; but, we are only human and must work to even be close. If we seek easy then we never even know what we can be. Be all that you can and chose to be. Be well.

Short Post on Todays News

Everything is fine in the world, the things I discuss are just anomalies. Really, how about millions of dead fish in Los Angeles, read the article and look at the pictures, tell me this is normal. I don't know what is causing all the strange animal deaths and attacks; but, it is NOT normal and if you tell yourself it is then you are just lying to yourself, good luck with that, it is not going to stop and it is not global warming.

As for my comments regarding the sheep taking over because the corruption is no longer sustainable, here is a nice article from England. Guess what, sheep cannot manage anything and when they take over, things only get worse and it is pretty bad already. Sheep don't have answers. You have to earn freedom by being righteous yourself rather than greedy.

You want to read about who believes in the "New World Order", how about Iran.

Oh, my take on Charlie Sheen's continued presence in the media. It is a message to not be such a douche bag. I can admire a no quit attitude; but, not when it is just about you, that is a selfish scumbag attitude. Life is not about you winning, it is about US winning and he only cares about himself. What if the a-hole was actually committed to helping others rather than getting all he can get for himself, same question to everyone else on the planet.

Just reading the news today, have fun.

My Friend and My Dinner

I am one of the most blessed people ever, I have the best friends that one could ask for. I got to spend time with one of them tonight. I treasure the time I get to spend with my friends, they have kept me going when my wife and children were not there for me. I don't blame my ex or kids, I just appreciate the people who were there for me.

I got off work and decided to cruise the boulevard, I really just wanted to think. I stopped at a restaurant and got out, I sent a text to my housemate saying I was going to get dinner, then, my friend called, he invited me to dinner at a place that I love. I immediately agreed, heck, I figured he would probably pay anyways and I am broke.

We ate and then we went and got coffee. I spoke to his wife on the phone, she had been such a blessing to me and is the love of his life and he, hers. I hope he has her read this, she is shy when I tell her how special she is; but, she is very special to me because of her loving and giving heart. She gives me hope, hope that I can have such a love someday. That is one of the things about my friends, they prove that one can have a loving and committed relationship. Hope.

My dear friend stayed up so late talking to me, he knew I was a little sad. I cannot ever explain how well my friends held me up when I had nothing left, I was broken and lost, I had lost something integral to me, my purpose. I have never been without purpose and when I lost my passion I knew I had to find it again. My therapist reads this sometimes and knows what I am saying. Yes, I have a therapist and I like him as a person and enjoy talking to him about what a whack job I am. God brought him to me, same as he does for everyone in our lives.

Why don't we have a best friends day? We have Valentine's day. Why can't we have a day where we celebrate our closest friends? Because we have all kind of friends and we can't rate them. If we did, I couldn't rate my friends, they are all great and important to me. I wouldn't want them to rate their friends either, what is the point of rating love? You cannot rate love, it is or it is not.

My friend and I talked for hours, I had the freedom to discuss the things in my life that made the least amount of sense, the things in my life that made no sense and the things in my life that scared me. I could discuss these things without fear of laughter or ridicule, there is nothing but true concern in his heart. That is freedom, freedom to hear your own words and decide for yourself if you are losing it or off track because he would call me on it rather than ask how it impacted him. That friends is love.

When most people talk about love, they are talking about sex, not love. Love is a concern for other people that leads us to give up our own comfort for them, that is love. It is a concern for others that leads us to ignore our prejudices and be more concerned for others. That concern leads us to give up things we want in exchange for having a relationship with them. Love is never judgemental, it is giving and puts up with a heck of a lot.

I have other friends, I have two brothers who I consider like family also. I am living in their apartment building. One of them reads this and knows who he is. DON'T COMMENT ON THIS POST. I have many special friends. I don't know why they would put up with me, I am not every one's "cup of tea". The friend I saw tonight gave me a pretty good answer to that question and as I love him, how could disagree with the truth?

We all screw up, regularly. We also all make some good decisions, friends look at your good decisions, friends root for your success, friends hope you get better, friends hope you are happy, friends know who you are, good and bad. Friends are friends.

I cherish my time with friends and family that care about how I feel rather than if I make mistakes (I do). I cherish the time I get to spend with people who I can tell what I really think, while I am still working out the alternatives. I cherish the time I have with friends where I can do the same for them, it is never a burden, it is a blessing. I cherish my friends and family.

My friend, who took me to dinner, asked me a question about dating and love. He wanted to see me happy and dating again, searching so that I could find love and heal. I had to tell him that I was not going to date, that I was going to wait until the love of my life appeared. That is where I am at, I can no longer accept anything less than the one that completes me, that helps me to define me, not by them; but, by there support of defining me and the one that I can support in their definition of them. That requires that we agree on what we are and what we want to become.

I am going to plug a restaurant and get nothing in return, nor do I want anything. If you are ever in Los Angeles, go to Brent's Delicatessen, you will not be disappointed. I don't think being my friend is the best thing in the world, it is not the funnest; but, I do believe that the best people in the world are my friends and that is pretty awesome.

I heard about a television show tonight, It is called something like "Spartacus, gods of the arena". I read up about it, it sounds like pornography to me. It is a show that allows watchers to see even worse than the Romans saw at the Coliseum, it shows sex and the worse violence and gore that can be shown. This is why I don't watch television. I don't want to see people being harmed, it is not exciting to me even if it is just a movie.

By the way young man, it is coming for me and it is close and that is why I am anxious. I don't know what to say when it does, I am afraid of the yes more than the no and am very confused. I am scared because it means I was right again and I still don't particularly like the answers. I am scared, not for me; but, for what it all means, the answers. Sorry kids, some of this is for everyone and some is just for him.

What scares me is "what if I am right?" What do I do then? It sucks when you would rather be wrong than right, that is a hard pill to take. Still, the game must proceed and we must give what we have or we are sheep. I am not a very good sheep, I have opinions and I have decisions and will make them and play them to the river if I think I am right. That is who and what I am, that is not negotiable; but, I still get tired sometimes. I can live with that, I give myself better than 50/50 and would bet much worse odds for a chance at a win.

With that inane post I end tonight. Be well, you matter and life can be interesting if we allow ourselves the chance to be true to be true to ourselves, be you, be true to your beliefs and heart, be you. Have a great week and day.

Sorry

I was getting better at posting, I have had nothing but phone calls tonight and don't have a thought in my head. I could talk about Charlie Sheen and his moral compass, lets do that. What do you think of Charlie Sheen, what is his life choice.

He was born to a famous actor, became an actor and made lots of money. He used the money to have it "all", sex, drugs, rock and roll, travel, blah, blah, blah. As he publishes his promotion of "winning", having it all, does anyone remember the movie "Wall Street" where the person he ends up fighting against, the one that said, "Greed is good". I guess in real life, Charlie agrees with him. He is the opposite of the good guy he thinks he is and portrayed in the movie, that is the lie of a lifetime.

Charlie's message is "win", get what you want, have it all, nothing matters but you, you are the greatest, you are a rock star, you matter more than anyone else (everyone else is a "troll"). The man has no moral compass whatsoever, it is all about him and people are supporting him because they feel the same way.

There is a part of the bible I never understood until just now. In Revelations it says that Jesus will reign on earth for 1,000 years and that some will revolt along with Satan. I wondered how, if living under Jesus' rule, people could possibly revolt, when life is fair. The answer is that many of us do not want fair, we want more and don't care about how it impacts others, that is the mother of all lies.

The concept of deserving, is the lie, it is the concept that you deserve more than someone else and the world is built upon it. Nobody wants what they deserve, you are not perfect so you deserve less than perfection. Try that one on. Charlie Sheen believes that because he made others money that he should be allowed to do anything he wants. Kids, I made more money for others than he did and I don't feel that way. He has not made over $2 billion for others, check the costs for what he made, $2 billion is not profit, mine was.

What is more important, to do the right thing for the right reason or to achieve whatever you believe winning is? What do you want to be, the person who "wins" or the person who gets nothing except to know that they did the right thing? That is just about the last question I have for this blog. It is pretty close. Be well.

On a side note

Crusing the web and reading the news I came across this article. It talks about a professor who allowed two students to get naked and the man then pleasured his partner with a sex toy in front of 100 students. The professor does not understand why people might find this offensive. That is what we have devolved to in regards to privacy and sexuality.

I don't know about you but I wouldn't send my kid to college to watch people have sex in public, I send them to learn a skill. The funny part is that the professor can't understand how someone might find this offensive, he just doesn't get it, he apparently has no boundries, at least not where it comes to other people.

Need I Say More

Last night I posted about the stories on multiple suns in the sky and asked what would surprise you. How bout this coming out today. I like how they ignore the other occurrances that have happened in the last month. I bet nobody other than the scientists are surprised.

On a completely different note. Lets talk about home loans. I have opined that even though the nation is threatened with millions of foreclosures, the truth is, they don't want people to leave their houses. In one of the previous versions of this blog I spoke about the HOPE loan which basically cuts your principal in half. This means that your payment is equivalent to what you had been paying with an interest only payment, that means most people could keep their homes, not me, I got divorced.

Today an article came out which talked about this in a different way. There is a company called MERS, it apparently controls 50% of all home loans and was created by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac (which are both owned by the federal government, I guess this means that MERS is owned by the fed). I want you to read this linked article. Rather than asking how it effects you or how you can use the information, ask yourself what it means to the nation.

What Would Surprise You?

I think anyone who has read my blog knows that I think there are too many anomalies happening in this current age. In my opinion much of what we are seeing does not make apparent sense. The "scientists" and "experts" give tortured explanations that even average people know don't sound right. Still, we just sit there and wait for the next lie. So here is my question, what would surprise you, what could happen that you would say, "Well that doesn't make any sense?"

Today I watched a video of two suns in Russia, a week or so ago I saw a video with three suns in the sky (I think it was from China) and then not long ago I posted the article about the scientist who say we may have two suns in our sky like from Star Wars if Beetlejuice supernovas. We will add to this the articles about how the sun didn't have any sun spots for two years and then had a tremendous blast a couple of weeks ago that missed the earth. These solar events we are told are perfectly normal and everyone just accepts that.

How bout earth events? All these earthquakes, volcanoes and the shifting of the magnetic poles. These seem like everyday occurances. Oh, I forgot and the earth got bigger. The multiple stories of bird and fish deaths seem normal don't they. When the first two occurred we were told these things happen on occassion; but, what about now where dozens and dozens of these things have occurred, still seem normal, maybe the new normal.

What about politics, is that normal? Naah, it is not normal. Revolution everywhere at the same time. Government attempting to track your every activity. And yes, 9-11 was an inside job, that should be obvious to anyone who watched Bldg 7 collapse or even attempts to look at what happened at the pentagon. Is that normal?

We could also talk about the economic realities that are emerging, a whole new monetary system is coming, heck it is almost here and we will have a new reserve currency. We could also look at all the strange new animals that were discovered in the past two years or the myriad of strange animal attacks. None of this is normal and it all happening at the same time is definately against the odds.

Now rather than believe that things will go back to normal, I want to know what could happen that would be the final straw for you believing that we are not living in very strange times? If an alien landed would you find that sufficiently bizaree or would you just accept that there are other life forms in the universe? Okay, not bizarre enough, what if they said they were from an alternate universe or were from the future, would that be weird enough? Probably not, huh, you would demand that it was inevitable because we have been told it is a possibility; but that is nonsense.

Here is the point, the vast majority of people have been trained to believe that anything is possible. What does that mean, it means we will accept any explanation of reality so long as an expert tells us. We have a society that is skeptical of everything and believes everything at the same time. How did we get here?

Do we have core beliefs anymore? What would they be and do we agree on them? Do we agree on anything anymore, is there anything that we "Americans" agree on? I don't think so, not anymore. We can't even agree on what we want the world of tomorrow to look like.

There are even people who believe that our world leaders are reptilian aliens spirits that are controlling humans. I kid you not. While ten years ago almost nobody took the Illuminati seriously, how many people believe it today? A bunch and a whole lot of people think they are out to kill most of us, it just isn't going to happen, I promise.

I am going to say something contradictory. I believe in paranoia, paranoia is your friend. Having said that, I think you need to still use good logic in evaluating threats and their likelihood. That is the problem with the current world, what we are seeing is too unlikely to happen all at the same, so people will accept anything as being reasonable, don't do that. Don't get caught in that trap.

My advice, no matter what you perceive, no matter what you experience, no matter what you believe, no matter what the experts tell you, go through the logic and probability check list. Lets discuss the checklist.

All experience is subjective. That is to say the only thing we can "know" is that we exist. We perceive and experience, a world, others, our perception and knowledge of these others is limited. Our ability to perceive is limited. Therefore the first question when we are evaluating anything is how much do we trust our senses in regards to understanding a perceived event or truth.

If we do not trust our senses (poor eyesight, poor hearing...) that might cause us to be more skeptical or our ability to know the answer. If we trust our senses and sanity then the next step is to ask how much confirming evidence we have for our belief. For most of us, most of what we believe is based on spoken testimony by others; but, we know others lie. Still, if everybody agrees then most will believe the same. That means they stopped investigating and are sheep.

The next step is to look at totality, look at all the information you know, not just the stuff related to the question, look at nature. Does the answer conform to how nature works? It is really a good question, unnatural things require more evidence. They require unnatural evidence and that is what we have a surplus of at the moment. That is the widget that does not fit, too much unnatural evidence and facts at the same time are required to explain the world we are in. That is just not right.

Tell me I am wrong. We get many visitors each day, any of you willing to say things are right? My guess is not or you wouldn't be reading this. I am not telling people that things make sense, I am telling them that things do not make sense. If you don't like that answer, you are probably better off not reading this blog, I have no quotas, I jsut say what I think.

Everybody sees the world through a filter, my current filter says nothing makes sense and we are at the end of this game, don't forget I am a Christian. Only a retard that claimed to be a Christian could say that things don't line up with the Bible. NonChristians can believe what they want. Still, the move towards a one world government and currency probably makes them pause and reconsider their position.

I have thousands of hits on this site, I have a couple dousin a day, tell me, any of you that you believe that nothing is going on that is unusal. Tell me that you have read the bible and don't at least wonder why the world if fitting a pattern. Tell me. Tell me that things are normal. I want to hear it and if you can't then we have a problem, things are not the way they should be. Now, how do we make sense of that?

It is very late and I am getting tired; but, things are still ridiculous in this world, tell me they are not, tell me things make sense, if you cannot then we need to come up with a new paradigm, pick one. LOL.

A New Attack on Christianity

I was scanning news articles and came upon this one. It seems that in England you can no longer be a foster parent if you are a Christian. Regulating what you can teach your children is a form of tyranny that has a long history. In America it was illegal to teach slaves to read and write, in Ireland (under English rule) it was illegal to teach Gaelic (the Irish language).

In the end this is not just an attack upon Christianity, it is an attack upon privacy and on parenthood, it is the state determining what you can and cannot teach your children. It is particularly ironic that it is happening in England as the monarchy has historically believed and promoted the idea that they were appointed by God to lead the nation. If you wish to read something interesting try this article on the coronation stone.

The coronation ceremony itself is a religious ceremony where the new monarch is presented with a bible and promises that it will be the source of the law for the country. I guess they don't really mean it. It is important to remember that the Prince of Wales is the head of the church of England. Prince Charles recently said that Christians should be more like Muslims (I posted on that previously). Where then does their "right" to rule come from?

Here is where the real confusion begins. If England is no longer a "Christian" nation; but, is instead now a multicultural nation, how do the non-Christians support the monarchy at all, by what logic? Many people are under the misunderstanding that the monarchy no longer has political authority; however, it was the monarchy that closed down the Canadian Parliament about a year ago.

As I have said before, Christianity in Europe is quickly dying and has been for decades. It is dying in the United States also. It is not dying because there is no prayer in schools or because schools teach creationism, it is dying because those who call themselves "Christians" do not exhibit christian virtues. Polls constantly show that Christians live and act just like non-Christians.

When the divorce rate for Christians and the adultery rates are the same as for non-Christians then you have a problem. The problem comes from what is being taught in churches. I know people that attend church and bring their children; but, they don't believe in God. They like the morals taught and want their children to know them; but, they ignore the parts about God. What is not taught is the importance of faith (belief that one lives by and relies on, trust, not simple belief).

With organized religion being attacked and quelled, what are Christians to do? I believe the answer is simple, go back to the basics and don't worry, have faith. Live an honest life of integrity in everything you do, you will make mistakes; but, it is better to go out fighting the good fight than succeed in fighting for lies and greed.

God is the sentience of the universe and we all have a part of that, we know it inside ourselves, we are self aware, a part of the universe of self awareness. We can know God at any given second; but, we choose not to. If one accepts the fact that God knows every thought you have it can be a little intimidating because we are so happy to lie to ourselves, justifying our actions that we know are wrong.

To any Christians that may read this, hang tight, it only gets harder. That is the promise in the New Testament, become a Christian and live the life and things just get harder. The problem people have with true Christianity is that it says we are to love one another and live by forgiving. The problem government has with Christianity is that it puts God above the state and the state does not like competition (read the first linked article again).

The New Testament makes it very clear that we are not supposed to shove Christianity down anyone's throats or force others to live a "Christian" life. There is no such thing as a "Christian" nation and nowhere in the bible does it say that we should have one, it says we should have a community of believers (that is the church).

Anyone who tells you that God wants you to be wealthy is a liar. Anyone who tells you that if you are a Christian you will a easy life is a liar. "Pastors" that focus on getting cookies are liars. Churches that focus on actions or sin are perverting the real message and leading the sheep astray. Actions do not lead to faith, faith leads to changed actions, if it does not then it is not true faith.

Some people ask how there can be a God that allows all of the horrible things in the world to occur, try reading the book, it says things get ever worse, he didn't hide it and said it would be bad. Where your treasures are, there is your true heart. If you treasure cookies (be they round things or shiny things) then you miss out on the real treasure, doing the right thing for the right reason and upsetting everyone. It is not about the other people doing the right thing, it is about you and me doing the right thing.

Faith is not about stopping sin, that is not possible, it is about spreading good and the world can use some of that. I often tell people that there is no point in me lying, we already have plenty of liars and the world does not need one more. We don't need anymore selfish people, crooks, pedophiles or jerks, we have plenty of all of those. Be well and have a great day.

UPDATE

I should be editing a report and will; but, I came across this article and it was relevant to what I had just written. A married Pastor in New Jersey was apparently having an affair with another single pastor. She apparently broke it off so he stabbed her in the face. Another pastor in commenting on the situation mentioned how the stabber was a pillar of the community and said he didn't know what God wanted people to make of it. Huh? Lets start with the simple.

Neither of them should have been pastors in the first place. The bible says pastors are to be the husband of one wife, that is what it says. There are other requirements and I don't meet them all. In fact, many of the people in the bible don't meet them. Heck, Noah didn't meet them all; but, he wasn't a pastor. Different jobs have different purposes and different requirements. How can you claim to believe in the bible when you disagree with what it says? If the teachers live like non-Christians then this is what you get.

The stabber had been previously married, he certainly was not the husband of one wife. He was also apparently having an affair with another pastor, neither was a good example. We are forgiven for our sins and we make mistakes, all of us. You just have to stop trying to justify them and see them for what they are. Organized religion has and is eliminating the bible's requirements for being a teacher and as a consequence, they teach lies.

The Catholic religion (and I grew up in that church) does not allow priests to marry; but, the bible says that they are to be the husband of no more than one wife, which indicates to me that married teachers are okay. That is one extreme. Other churches now allow homosexuals, previously married people and women to be teachers. These churches do not understand that the role of teacher is not just about understanding and being able to explain the bible, it is about following it and being an example.

I drink wine, I have been married and plan to again someday, I do not qualify to be a pastor. That does not mean that I cannot talk about or write about what I believe; but, I do not do it from a position of authority, I am not an example of the things that are required. How can a preacher teach people that promiscuity is wrong and that we can have successful marriages if the preacher fails, you cannot teach what you do not know yourself.

Nobody deserves to be stabbed in the face, nobody has the right to attack another because they have been spurned. I pray for her recovery and that he comes to seek true forgiveness and change his heart. Neither should ever be allowed to be a preacher again and should not have in the first place. They should tell their story so that others can learn from it, that is their testimony and we are all called upon to give ours here and in heaven. What will you say? Most of mine is on this blog.

In England neither of these pastors would be allowed to be foster parents; but, they would be allowed to be pastors and people support that. What can you learn from a pastor who can tell you what they did wrong; but, not how to do things right? Christianity is dying because the leadership does not live by it. If you want to find a preacher, start by insisting that they meet the requirements. Then, make sure they are teaching faith that leads to changed lives, not changed lives that lead to faith.

I detest churches that focus their flock on gay marriage or getting things, it is anti-Christian. The church is there to teach faith and show others how they can live a more moral life. It is not supposed to be about government, laws or attacking non-Christians for their lifestyle. It is about leading by example. The same failing we see in government, business and the church, we allow leaders who are bad examples.

Sorry, while I was writing this I received a call that caused me to lose my train of thought. Someone I love insists upon making the same mistake time and time again and does not wish to accept that they will continue to get the same results. Maybe that is the point, let go of the cookies.

UPDATE 2

I came across another article that seems on point. The article talks about how the New American Bible is updating some language. Instead of using the word cereal, it will use the word grain. Instead of using the word booty, it will say the "spoils of war" and instead of saying virgin, it will say "young woman". Wait a second, every young woman is not a virgin. Why would they change that?

Everywhere I find corruption, I find sexual immorality. Eating, breathing and sex are basic functions. Learning to control those urges helps us to make mature choices in other areas. If we cannot manage those urges then we tend to not do as well in other areas.

Drat

I am known to be a problem solver, people just expect it from me. My children thought I could fix my marriage, I could not, if I could have I would have. Problem is the only one who could have fixed my marriage was God and it was not right to fix, it would have meant no free will for the ex. That is not right. She was committed to what she did and should have been free to have free will even if she exercised it wrongly.

Free will means that we have to allow people to do dumb things, to do wrong things, to do right things, to do brilliant things. It means they get to choose what they do and if they do and ignore the cookies, do it because it is right, they win.

Heart - Mistral Wind

The last couple of days have been hard on me, I have not been happy. I have never cared much for life and still don't, I do believe in existance, it is just this world that I don't care for. A lot of people don't like it when I say that; but, it is how I feel and what I think.

I understand why people chase cookies, the world is not a pleasant place, in fact it sucks. I understand why people commit suicide, this place sucks. I disagree with both, our job is to help one another, not receive cookies and pats on the back. This life here is a fight and a fight to the death or existance, I am always down for that. Life is about proving that you have earned determining who you are to the extent you can. Sometimes that involves going to new places.

I don't like certain types of change, I don't like core changes or home changes or family changes or fundamental changes. When we are children we learn change, we learn to learn. We learn that life is not a game and we make a choice, to go after all the fun or go after being ourselves and pain. The worst choice is the third, to try and avoid pain, that is impossible. All or nothing and nothing is the better choice. Be well and stay stange.

An Issue of Authority

In Wisconsin the Governor ordered the police to remove the protesters from the State house, the police refused to and supported the protesters. In Central America the same thing happened to one of their presidents. In Libya members of the Air Force refused to bomb the people and defected. We are seeing the Police and military in countries throughout the world refusing to follow the orders of their leaders. This is just the beginning.

People are rejoicing that "the people" are taking power; but, then what? I mean what happens next? It is easy to take down authority; but, what do you replace it with? The choices are "leaders" or direct democracy (or a lot more say in what happens). Lets put this in another context, at what point in time, by what measure would you believe people are capable of ruling themselves and you?

Societies without leaders never progress. Leadership is a burden. I manage a large number of people and have managed people for 39 years. My attitude towards supervision is based on my having supervised people since I was 12. I am not a micro-manager, I very much believe in letting people do their work and leaving them alone. My job is to let them know what needs to be done and where we are headed. Most do not care where we are headed and only care to know what they need to do. That is human nature.

How can "the people" make valid decisions on our future if they don't care where their organizations, societies, governments are headed? Now lets look at Wisconsin, what happens when nobody, including the police, do their job? What happens when everyone follows their own rules? If you say it sounds great, do you feel the same way about child molesters? Don't snap answer questions, it means that you did not think about what was being asked, you were giving an opinion that wasn't thought out.

Leadership came about because people did better in groups. Humans are pair bonders and not pack animals, we survived and thrived because we learned to work together; but, it only worked when the smartest of us decided what direction we should be headed in. I am not in favor of totalitarianism, I hate it, I am a major proponent of privacy and I am a big believer in order, fairness and input on decisions. The problem is that most people are selfish and if you put them in charge you get disaster, as we have now.

You cannot legislate to change human nature, some learn and some don't until forced to. That is reality and people only learn, at best, at the speed that they are capable of. We are not all of the same wisdom either. Wisdom takes a lot of time. Young people know things, old people understand what they mean.

I was once asked to teach someone what I know, I was told that I should take a few hours and show this other person how to do what I do. I wondered how I would teach understanding the law in three hours, it took me a lifetime and three years of law school and 20 years of writing contracts. I didn't know how to teach 30 years of supervising or 30 years of accounting or 30 years of Public Works experience in a couple of hours to someone who wasn't as smart as me or someone who was. That is the youth difference. They don't get it because even if they have the education, they don't have the experience.

In my career, I was the best there had ever been at what I did and still, I learned from those who had wisdom and experience. I may have surpassed them; but, I learned from them first. My career is at an end, I will be done in three to eight years, I am not going to be that young leader anymore, I will retire an old sheep dog. I would hate to think that there was not a young aggressive sheep dog to replace me, sheep need sheep dogs and shepherds, I am not a shepherd, maybe someday.

Recognizing how we grow and what we are, I believe we should listen to our elders that have earned being listened to. They earn it by being better, not by promising us more cookies. If someone promises you a cookie, punch them in the nose; but, don't vote for them.

In order for society to progress, leaders must evolve (learn from the past) and. I don't know, I lost my train of thought, too many interruptions. Be well.
