The Best Scripted Line I have Heard

There is a show, it is called the Blacklist and stars James Spader. I like the show and the writers have just written some lines that touch me to my heart. I will link to the broadcast and repeat the lines.

"You cannot judge a book by it's cover; but you can by it's first chapters and most certainly by it's last... Have you ever sailed across an ocean Donald? On a sailboat surrounded by sea with no land in site, without the possibility of seeing any land in site. To stand at the helm of your destiny. I want that one more time. I want to be in the Piazza Del Campo, to feel the surge as ten race horses go trampling by. I want another meal in Paris. I want another bottle of wine and then another. I want the warmth of a women and a cool set of sheets. And one more night of jazz at the Vanguard. I want to stand on summits and smoke Cubans and feel the sun on my face as long as I can... I want to sit in the garden and read one more good book. Most of all, I want to sleep. I want to sleep like I slept when I was a boy. Give me that just one time. That is why I wont let that punk out there to get the best of me. Let alone the last of me."

NBC - The Blacklist - Anslo Garrick

Some of the best writing I have ever read. My take is only slightly different. I want to be with a Polynesian one more time. I want to be at sea one more time. I want to see Julia one more time. I want to teach my granddaughter how the world works. I only get one of my wishes, I will teach my granddaughter how the world works. I will teach her all that I know.
