A Grid that May Be Even Smarter Than You Think

Hello class, today we are going to learn about electricity, not that old fashioned type of alternating current that was invented by Nicola Tesla, nope we are entering the world of the "Smart Grid". Doesn't that sound nice, smart energy. Based on our reliance on smart technologies, soon it will be okay to be dumb.

Lets begin by getting some of the basics out of the way. Firstly, what is the "Smart Grid"? I have provided a link to the wikipedia article on smart grids; but, if you choose not to read it I will give you a quick summary. A Smart Grid is type of electrical grid that is responsive to electrical demands as they occur. Hmmm, that sounds bizarre. Lets try again.

Electricity is generated at a power plant, the electricity is then sent to users at a certain cycle, frequency and strength. If that frequency or strength is not regulated it would blow out your appliances. If a power supply is unreliable then it is sometimes referred to as "dirty" or at least it used to be.

Lets say you have multiple electrical generation plants, one coal burning, one burning natural gas, one solar and one nuclear. They all supply the same people and they all have to be synchronised because of this. They all have to send it out in the same frequency and figure out who will produce what amount of energy at what time so that the grid is fulfilling the needs of the users. A good example is that solar power plants don't provide much electricity at night.

As we turn to green energy we need to remember that solar is usually produced during the day and wind is when it is. You can save some of the energy in batteries as direct current; but, that can get real expensive. When we transmit electricity we lose some. I seem to recall that direct current could only be sent 50 miles or so, it is one of the reasons the United States went with alternating current rather than Edison's direct current.

Now the electric companies have to guess when you will be using electricity in order to know how much to produce. They also have capacity issues, they can only produce so much at a time. Some of the benefits of "green" energy is that it is non-polluting and once paid for, the infrastructure doesn't require as much in resources to keep it going. Down side is that it is less reliable and at the whim of mother nature. Solar energy in certain areas would be insanity for months out of the year when they have no light, like in the arctic.

In order to offset the challenges of green energy it is preferable to have a smart grid. The smart grid monitors usage demand in something closer to real time. It is an interactive process. The smart grid is one that is making close to real time decisions on who gets how much energy. One of it's goals is to reduce peak loads through pricing by use and time of day.

One part of a smart grid is the use of "smart meter". Smart meters measure your usage on a almost real time basis, this allows you to be billed different rates based on the time of day, time of year or anything else. Oh, they also allow electric companies to get rid of all of their meter readers.

Now if you have a smart grid and smart meters you can then match them up with smart appliances. Appliances that identify themselves over the grid. By transmitting information along with electricity you could be informed of which appliances you have running and remotely choose which one's to shut off during peak hours.

I do not know where I read it; but, for the next year they will be testing the electric grid to look at having it transmit data and read the individual frequencies of users. Lets just say that you have a life routine, when you get home you turn on your living room lights and your television, your electric fingerprint will be the same even if you move to a new house. Your pattern will be the same.

Google Me What I am Thinking

Google is working on a new product, in the future they want it to know you better than you know yourself and anticipate what you want. Read the article and watch the video.

Towards the end of the article, Singhai states, "When we launch a service which brings a lot of benefits to the consumer, they thrive despite all the questions surrounding users’ privacy. However, we know that if a product doesn’t give a user enough value, then we know it cannot overcome the necessary hurdles."

Let me restate what he says, "If we give people enough cookies, they will willingly give up their decision making and privacy". This is another example of why I will be getting off of the internet as much as possible. People really need to consider how far they will accept having computers and algorithms making their decisions for them rather than merely assisting.

I do apologize for the sparseness of my posts, I have a few days off and will try and write something more involved. Be well.

Virtual Money

I am not sure if I wrote about bitcoins recently. It is a type of virtual money.
There is a new player in the world of virtual currency, your friends at Facebook. They are creating a new online currency.

Gosh it must be great to create your own currency, so many doing it already. One state has voted to be able to make their own currency. Now this is legal and has been done many times in the United States. Here is a small quote from a Wikipedia article on Banknotes, "In the United States, public acceptance of banknotes in replacement of precious metals was hastened in part by Executive Order 6102 in 1933. This order carried the threat of a maximum $10,000 fine and a maximum of ten years in prison for anyone who kept more than $100 of gold in preference to banknotes."

So possible situations. One, will the government limit how much gold you can own again, there was a part of one of the recent bills that said that all sales of gold over a certain dollar amount had to be reported to the Federal Government. Two, can states issue their own currencies if they use gold and silver? Three, there is no law prohibiting online organizations to create their own currencies, if they do and that currency is used then how could you tax it?

Scientists are not God

Why does some scientists insist upon changing humanity? Do they really think they know better than nature and God? They seek shortcuts and risk us all.

Here is a lovely article about a new machine that will allow scientists to speed up "evolution". It is madness. To think that you know which genes to turn on and off, to be willing to take the risk, is madness.

I like reading about quantum physics mostly, I am not as supportive of creating dark matter or certain tests. I am 100% against stem cell research. I am 100% against assisting evolution.

Mark my words, this machine will be used on stem cells to cure autism. But it won't. The hope of science is to cure the autistic of their social inabilities, not to take away their intellectual uniqueness (Asperger's). Imagine the sales job for people with Asperger's. "Hey kid, your really bright, you see things nobody else sees; but, you have a hard time with the ladies, we can fix that. You take this serum (made from stem cells) and you will be as normal as anyone else."

Here is the joke on the scientists, it is a chicken or an egg question. The unique abilities of those with Aspergers rests within the fact that they focus on what interests them and not on the 40,000 lies that our faces explain. If you change their focus, you lose their unique abilities. Worse yet, imagine using stem cells to give everyone Aspergers, that would be horrific, brains would explode. It takes a lifetime for people born with it to learn to handle it and it is natural for them.

Here is where I am going to compare females breasts to brains (good trick huh?). Millions of women have breast implants, they change their body to "make it better". Personally, I detest breast implants, they are not real and don't feel real, looks only. I have absolutely nothing against normal female breasts, voted in favor of them in the last election. Two thumbs up. I do have to add a caveat, I am very much in favor of breast implants for women who have lost theirs due to cancer or other diseases. I have a friend with a glass eye, that is okay, he was born with two eyes and lost one.

I am not talking about giving back what someone had, I am talking about "improving" or "enhancing" our natural body.

Personal Internet User Id Coming to Denmark

This is the part where I say, "I told you so". Here is the article, it should translate by Google translate. I have written about this and talked about this for a few years and now it is coming.

I didn't even bother posting on how Australia is now beginning to block websites (censor) and yes, they are going after child porn first. The question is what will they go after next?

All You Ever Posted on the Net is Public

You have to love this article. It is about how a new company has been given permission to data mine all the social sites and blogs, identify your true identity and provide that information to employers. Well kids, of course. Now, if my employer employer wanted to read my blog it wouldn't be a big deal as there are people I have worked with that know of this site.

There are people who post on social sites that say some really outlandish things, bigoted and hurtful. It could cost them their jobs and possible future employment. I allow anonymous comments on my blog; but, I also moderate what is posted. The judge in the case that I am sitting on told all of the jurors that they were not to post about the case and I haven't, as you can tell. He warned us not to twitter, my space, facebook or post about the case anywhere. It appears that it had been a problem in the past.

I have posted some personal information on this blog, such as the fact that I have herpes. Heck, if we met in person I would tell you the same. Big deal. I am not sure that everyone feels the same. Where this line of privacy be drawn for the internet? Should posts by minors follow them for the rest of their lives? People do change and learn. We go through trauma on occasion and even as adults may say things that we later regret.

Maybe (and this may be where this is all headed) there should be a start date for holding people accountable for what they posted on the web. Perhaps people should be given a Mulligan (a free ride, a second chance). Still, in the future you will know that everything you post can be traced back to your real life persona.

My ex-wife used to e-mail and text the "other man", I don't want to read it or see it on the net. I doubt she wants to see it on the net either. If nothing is private on the internet then eventually you will cease seeing it used for social media as much. I shall be off the net soon enough; but, this blog will remain for a time, it just won't be updated.

Microsoft 365 - Cloud Consciousness

Hello all. I am sitting in my quiet little apartment listening to "The Cars" singing "Moving in Stereo" and "It's All Mixed Up". Please enjoy the music as you read my nonsense.

The picture is of an actress named Joan Leslie. No reason, just thought she was a pretty girl and that I should add more pictures. Now lets talk about the cloud again.

Microsoft has a new Office Suite, it is called "Office 365", all your data will be created and saved on the cloud, the soft, white and rolling cloud. Microsoft has said that if needed, they will give away your information without your knowledge. I don't care for that.

If it sounds like a lie with a cookie attached then it is probably bad for you. Never take anything that is free, if it isn't worth paying for then you shouldn't want it. Here is a good example, the Los Angeles River and federal control; but, they do give us a cookie.

There is always hope. Hope is good. Be well.

I am on a Jury

I can't believe I was actually chosen to be on a jury. I told the truth when asked questions and was selected. I cannot discuss the case and won't, not even on this blog. So we shall talk of other things; but, of what I do not know because I don't have the time to follow the news now. I shall do my best to try and stay up on what I can.

A New Movie and Lots of Questions

There is a new movie making the independent circuit, it is called "Wake Up". The documentary claims to be the true tale of a person who claims to be able to see spirits, angels and demons. This is the official website of the movie.

There is quite a lot of talk about a coming "awakening" and I have mentioned some of the talk in the past. Let us assume for a minute that the film is a true account of one man's life. Would you want to interact with spirits in this world? When people take DMT, they claim to be consciously shifted to another dimension and then interact with spirit beings. They then return to this reality, the guy in the movie sees them interacting with humans in this reality.

Who the heck would want to interact with demons? Why would you want to do such a thing, the guy in the movie (at least from the trailer) doesn't say he wants to. He says that he was told that his mission is to explain this other world to people, to prepare them for experiencing it here perhaps?

The current state of discussion regarding the "awakening" is that you are to look only at your emotions and feel the answer because your logic can fool you. Huh? It seeks to attack science and religion and becomes a religion of you, finding your divinity. I hate to break it to people; but, you are not divine, you are imperfect and so am I. The truth may be inside you to find; but, you are not the truth and neither am I, we are only parts of a totality.

The central part of this new religion is to return to oneness, to undue creation. To go back to the beginning of consciousness. If you listen to what it's proponents say then you will see this to be the truth. Sounds pretty good too, doesn't it, no need to learn or grow, laziness is rewarded by your becoming God; but, there is a catch. You have to be reactive rather than exercise your free will.

Just as with Transhumanism, you don't have to have wisdom or learn to be a better person, just follow the rules and we will tell you what they are. People are being by others telling them to stop being sheep; but, most people are sheep and a sheep in wolf's clothing is as bad as a wolf in sheep's clothing. It is still a lie. People assume that if they find out that there is a "New World Order" that they have woken up or even understand what it means, they don't.

In the United States and in other democracies, we stopped voting for our betters and began voting for liars. We were given the chance to decide things for ourselves and decided to vote for worse and worse scum bags because they promised us cookies. They reach out to our biases and greed and we vote for them. We vote for the sheep to get a bigger piece of the pie and then cry when the wolves take the pie for themselves.

Jesus told others to be good slaves. I say be good sheep. I am not impressed by the tea party politicians because they are still just promising cookies rather than morality. Secular morality that allows for religious tolerance. Yes, I am a Christian; but, I believe in free will and self determination. If people wish to "wake up", they had better wake up to the fact that they need to take responsibility for their actions and stop looking to scapegoat the wolves.

There is a new loan program for people who are UNEMPLOYED that will loan them up to $50,000 to stay in their homes for the next two years even if they don't use it to pay for their mortgage. I cannot find the article; but, here is one that focuses on part of the program.

As many people as possible will take the cookie; but, they don't deserve it. Heck, I would probably qualify and could have my home back and $50,000 (by the way, you don't necessarily have to pay the loan back, it can turn into a grant). I was divorced, my wages were garnished and I couldn't pay my mortgage so I gave the home back to Fannie Mae. I don't want nor would I accept a free cookie except from a loved one with no strings attached.

How do you know if you are a sheep, you take free cookies, cookies you did not earn and they always have strings attached, you ignore the string for the cookie. Wolves and other predators don't want free cookies, they enjoy the hunt. Scavengers eat off of the corpses of those killed by predators. As a sheepdog, I have the most respect for predators so long as they play by the rules and stick to the worst sheep that hold back the herd. At least predators make some effort.

Hmmm, that may sound harsh. It is. I think we should seek to move up the food chain, up the evolutionary ladder by effort and not by technology or genetic therapy, cheats and shortcuts. Remember that sheepdogs, all dogs, started as wolves and learned to restrain themselves. Imagine that, that a predator became today's modern sheepdog. How does that happen?

You see we can evolve, not just wolves, sheep can evolve also; but, it means taking on new rules and learning more, not learning less. As we individually evolve, we as a universe evolve. A new limit is reached, adjusted to and learned from. Each part does as it's part that it can at any moment. Kind of metaphysical isn't it?

You have to admit that not many writers can go from loans to the unemployed to our spiritual possibilities as a transition. Throw a dog a bone, good transition or what?

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to all the fathers out there. I am going to relax for mine. Be well.

A Name Change

ICANN, I have mentioned them more than once, the organization that is under contract to the United States Federal Government and is responsible for the domain names used on the internet, is changing the rules of the game. The issue is one of branding, or better put, it is one of making money off of the internet.

Here is an article on the current state of the matter. None of it will apply to me because I have never included any adds on this blog and refrain from using words that the FCC would find objectionable.

Already there is an extension ".xxx" rather than ".com" for pornographic sites. A new group wants to have a ".Vegas" extension. People self selecting their place on the web. What do you want to bet that online gambling is allowed; but, only on sites with the ".Vegas" extension and in order to be allowed to use those sites you will have agreed to pay your taxes if you win money, just like in real Las Vegas?

People who have lots of "friends" on facebook will be able (already are) to make money just by having people click through. Regulations will be tailored towards the different domain names. I could see a time when you have to pay a fee to use certain domain extensions and even verify your identity and age (porn sites and gambling sites will be the first to do this).

How Did This Happen

I was wondering why so many readers came to this site by searching "Pastor Carol Daniels", I went to Yahoo, typed it in and came up with 21,000,000 hits, my site was number 22. Huh? Really, that makes no sense whatsoever. When I googled it, it came in 4 with 11,300 results.

Since beginning this blog, I have received about 15,000 hits, this is not a popular site, very much an alleyway at best on the internet. This is not a site of information, more of questions. I don't know any answers to who killed the good Pastor, I wish I did; but, I am just asking questions about it. For those who come here to read about her, I am glad I can provide any information; but, I have never been to Anadarko and don't know anyone who has. I never met the fine lady and would hope that her loved ones could provide more information.

I am the son of a law enforcement officer and an analyst in my own right. I was raised to ask questions and question the assumptions. What may appear to be insight is just training, education and a bit of thought. When I was young, my father and I might get a cup of coffee and he would ask me about everyone in the coffee shop, what I observed about them and what conclusions it led me to. It is habit to continue doing so. My father taught me some very valuable lessons (and I miss him and my mother).

My father taught me that we observe more than we think about, if we get a "feeling", it is often because we saw something and didn't analyze it enough to understand it; but, we knew it didn't fit the assumed pattern. I use this skill in life, in business, in my personal life (not enough) and in my writing.

After having said what I have, I am not in law enforcement and didn't wish to be. I am not a professional in that particular arena. If this blog is focused on any crimes, it is in public corruption not murders. Although that occurs also. What I do know is that I have seen a lot of very bad police work over the years. It is usually fowled up because of biases and we all have them.

In small towns there is an assumption that there is nobody really evil, like there is in the big cities. This is foolish and consistently proven wrong. A couple of simple statistics. In most murders, the victim knew the murderer. Second one, most murders are not for money, they are out of emotion. People stage murders to make it look like these two truths are not involved. People who murder for money and don't know the victim rarely stage anything. Finally, very few serial killers actually stage the scene afterwards.

In regards to Pastor Carol Daniels, I would be stunned to find out that some traveling Satanist randomly picked a town of 6,000, accidentally found a church where a Pastor was present and no worshipers were there on a Sunday. The fact that the media and the police even considered such a stupidity is why I think they are being misled by their biases. They don't want to believe it was one of their own that they interact with on a daily basis, I understand that feeling. The person who hurt me the most in my life was the person I helped and knew the most, that is who hurts us and it is because they are not suspected.

Some people question why the good Pastor traveled all the way to that little town with so few believers left. They miss the point because they are not Christians. In the bible it says that where "two or more are gathered in my name, there I am also". That is why she went there, not for a large congregation, just to be with one other believer. There were two elderly people, according to reports, that sometimes attended her services, they were the one's who called the police. I doubt very much that they killed her.

As to who did kill her, I don't know, I just say that they lived close by and knew that few attended her services. I don't like the fact that the sect she was a member of tore down the church. That is not a good sign. It is not good that we give up on communities; but, then it does say that if you go there and preach and none listen, to shake the dust of the town off your feet and leave. For all I know, she was the last one preaching God's love, rather than fear of him (that is only the beginning of knowledge ergo, not the end).

Should any of her loved ones ever read this blog, I am so sorry for your loss, from all I have read, she was an amazing and loving woman and truly cared about others. I am sorry if anything I ever wrote offended or brought up too much detail, I never meant to be graphic. If her family wished me to remove my posts, I would and apologize. I certainly never meant to be too clinical in my questions, this was a real person and I do appreciate that. It was only ever in my heart to get people to think about her death and think about it without bias. I do not refer to her color, I refer to local biases. The hardest bias to see is the one that trips us up.

I bought new clothes

Okay, I admit it, I really did let my wardrobe become shabby. I said I would and today I did buy a couple of new suits, a couple of sport coats and a couple of shirts. I did say that I was shamed into this and rightly so. When many of your friends began asking if they can buy you clothes, it is time to get on the stick.

As the readers might have guessed I am more about content then presentation. Having said that, I like a nice suit. When I go out to a nice restaurant, I like to look good. When I dated I would dress nicely. I think dressing up in order to go on a date is a good thing, it shows respect. Personally, when I went out with women, I liked seeing them in a nice dress that fell just below the knee, classical.

Who knows maybe I will get a manicure tomorrow, if I do, I will have to go play poker. Have a great Father's Day.

Ex Councilman in Serious Trouble

So an ex-City Councilman is being investigated for taking money from developers. He took a lot of money, about $1 million from one company. Now this particular crook, I can call him that because he plead guilty to tax evasion, Mr. Alatorre resigns from the Council, pleads guilty to tax evasion and is then allowed to be a lobbyist. Why would anyone hire him as a lobbyist?

I wouldn't trust anyone who he raised campaign contributions for. This all goes back to the same thing, politicians in bed with developers and using City funds and employee pensions to fund their little incestuous relationships and get elected. Why is it taking so long to take out all of these thieving little weasels? When will the boils on the back of the City be lanced and removed?

Don't Expand Your Mind

Open it. The blog is not titled, "The Truth is Outside You" for a reason. There are two true answers in the universe. The first is that there is a "better". That is true, there is more or less pain, more or less happiness, emotions and feelings that we prefer or find pleasurable. Then there is "right", that refers to sharing in both pain and pleasure rather than just hording the pleasurable.

Selfish people fear pain more than do the unselfish. They either seek to justify this by saying that we are all responsible for our own happiness or saying that "others" deserve more pain. Both are lies, we do effect each other and nobody deserves pain. It is too strange a concept, to deserve pain. I want people to do good, not bad, I want people to be better to one another, not harsher.

Nope, the truth is inside you, you know when you can be more helpful, when you are cheating and lying, when you have given what you could and when you didn't stand up for what you knew was right when you could have. The truth is what is right, hey, I think that is what we got from Eve eating the apple, knowledge of good and evil, the truth. We were not given all understanding, we were given a conscience and that knows good and evil. If you are a Christian or Jew and believe the bible then you must admit that you know right from wrong. If you listen to others tell you the answers than you are not listening to God, you are ignoring your conscience because they gave you a justification for being selfish in the guise of the justification (usually that this is best for everyone garbage).

Many people seek to "expand" their minds, this always seems to entail getting an answer from another rather than following one's own conscience. I don't need nor want someone to give me the answers and God certainly didn't give them all in the bible. Guidelines at best and we tend to fail. Christianity is the only religion that tells you that you can never get it right, that you are always imperfect. Okay, Buddhists believe you can become perfect and cease to exist. If you cease to exist, how is that perfect?

People complain about being thought of as sheep; but, they are by and large. Always chasing a cookie, always looking for a shortcut to the cookie. To know more than you can learn is to be a sheep.

What do you think of this link?

There is a new television show coming out called "Falling Skies" and I still don't watch television. I saw it advertised on the sides of buses and wondered what the plot was. Apparently, aliens attack the earth and humanity tries to keep alive. I don't care about the rest of the plot or the show.

I went to the website and was trying to find a commercial for it. Instead I found something a little creepy. One section of the site is a tab called "Last Defense", if you type in your address it will show you your home and neighborhood being destroyed. I am guessing that it is liked to google maps. Anyone knowing your address can now look at your house, your car, your front yard, your back yard.

The government has been able to do this for at least 40 years, I don't really mind that much. My ex, people I don't like, co-workers, people I never met should not have that sort of ability. I am going to leave a link, as I plan on ending the blog soon, I hope people find this site and follow the link. It is to an organization called "Electronic Privacy Information Center". It constantly talks about your PRIVACY and what technology is leading to.

Now, I am not sure that I trust these people. There are privacy issues that I do not believe should be negotiated for everyone by anyone. One of the current issues is Facebook's ability to use facial recognition software to find pictures of you on other sites. The "solution" will be to give you the choice to opt in or out of the program. I would charge people with treason for even attempting to use such software.

New Thoughts on Pastor Carol Daniels

Firstly, here is a link to a news report on Pastor Carol Daniels death. I had never seen this report. I did not know that there was a POLICE STATION a block away. Lets think about this some more. A random satanists, picks a church in a town of 6,000, which he assumes will not have any members attending a church on Sunday and cuts a woman to death and is not worried about the screaming or walking out of the building covered in blood. This makes how much sense?

Let us agree on one thing, the murderer did not intend to walk more than one block because there was a police station one block away. Cops drive in and out of police stations and go in all directions. I haven't followed the story; but, this nonsense makes it even more clear that it was done by someone who was in very close proximity. They were a block away from a police station and were not afraid of leaving the building and not being seen? Come on, it had to be someone very close in proximity.

For those who continue to have an interest in Pastor Carol Daniels, a link to the website that is tracking the news regarding her. Let us pray that her killer is caught. I will not be joining their site as I am de-interneting.

I should point out something, the linked website said that BTK was from Wichita and not Kansas City, he was from neither, he was from Park City, north of Wichita. For anyone who wants to see, go to the Kansas City newspapers website forum regarding BTK and examine the posts by CatchPutz, they predicted it would be Park City and many other things about him before he even resurfaced. The Kansas police did a lousy job, just like the Oklahoma police are doing a lousy job.

Scratching my head, ouch, I forgot I was bald

I received a comment on a very old post, the post about Pastor Carol Daniels. I checked my traffic sources and found a source to have been from a website dedicated to web sleuths. As I have been saying, I intend to stop writing this blog in the near future. I had considered deleting all of it; but, decided to leave the posts up for at lease some time.

I really don't want to leave my writings up, I want to delete them all; but, my post on Pastor Daniels is still getting visitors and has now been referenced on another site. I kind of feel it would be wrong to take it down and mess up their link, even if they all disagree with me.

I have to apologize for the short post yesterday, I had a sinus headache all day yesterday and half of today, I am better now. It felt like I had a nail attempting to poke my eye from the inside. Barely slept and had a meeting I had to attend today. I didn't eat at all yesterday except a small cup of soup.

As I write this I am eating a wonderful brisket sandwich, nice to finally have something in my stomach. Well, tomorrow is Friday, the end of the work week for me. Actually, it should be my regular day off; but, there are some things I want to take care of.

This little brain is tired and just needs some time off. The Pimpernel needs to focus on himself for a little bit, he needs to decide what he wants and where he wants to be headed. I am always where I am supposed to be when I am there; but, this is not where I want to be forever. I need to figure out what I do want and I need some time to do that. I need to think about me for once.

I need to decide what is important to me for me. I need to think about what I do like and want and other things. I need to begin again. Maybe it is not about finding who I am; but, about rediscovering me. I used to write music, draw, read everything and of course write. I used to be a gymnast and a stage manager, I was also a cabinet maker. I am not unaware of the arts. I like jazz and I like rock and roll. I like lots of music.

This thing again

This posting thing, soon I will be done with it. Coming up with something new to say everyday is beginning to be more of a burden. Sorry, but it is. For those who have followed this blog for a long time, I apologize that it will not last much longer and am really pleased that anyone appreciated it.

One of the finest young men I have ever known in my life did quite well by me today. He brought me clothes because I haven't been sufficiently keeping up on my wardrobe. His lovely wife even bought me underwear. I think I had better start taking care of myself a little bit better. My friends were there when I needed them and I don't want them thinking that I am not back, I just never really cared about how I presented myself enough. I will take care of myself better. I have to add that he is not the only one that tried to get me to take more concern over my appearance. I must be pretty shabby when friends offer to buy me clothes, I am not that broke, just that stupid.

To my dear friends, you little Pimpernel is the happiest he has ever been in his life. I am so very comfortable in my skin. I am so very comfortable in my environment and in my life. My dear friends gift of his used clothes is better than what I have bought for myself, that is a pretty sad statement about my taking care of myself. I will do better. His wife is so very smart and concerned about me that I feel great shame for having caused her any concern. I am convicted of not taking of myself enough. I do enough to get by and I can do better and will. I will take just enough care of myself to not concern my friends or family, more than that is a waste of time, narcissism and I don't have time for that, autistic you know. LOL.

To all my readers, there is never a reason to worry about Pimpernel, I have been there and back, quite better you know. Just know that I am too blessed for words to explain. I am starting from ground zero again, choosing my priorities, self care is one of them, I will do well enough. Be well all.

Not much to say tonight, just relaxing with a couple of friends. Nice conversation and okay food. It came up that I hate algebra but love geometry. I am less excited by the math than I am by what is possible to create with a dot, a line is just a series of dots, as big or as small as you choose to make them. From the simple dot comes every image that you can make, there are no limits and it is just a dot.

I am going to give a description of how many shapes are available to a dot alone. A dot can be one, two dots are a line, three dots are a triangle. Four dots are still a line. Five dots is a pentagram, which is just a series of triangles. There is only one dot, there is two types of line (dependent on direction. Triangles can make domes and many other things, in conjunction with dots and lines the limits do not exist.

Now, take all that and try this religious concept for God, the trinity. Three dots making a new shape, beginning the world. I have now given a geometric description of God. We can use any language to explain things, concepts. I don't like algebra; my question for them is to prove the equation that X cannot equal zero. It answers the question of why there cannot be an absolute zero, there cannot because an absolute zero couldn't ask the question. I still hate math.

Funny that we base geometry on lines and math on the existence of an absolute zero. When neither are true and not the beginning of either. The beginning of geometry is the dot and the beginning of math is one, they are the first things that can be known, everything else needs to be "proved". What I have said confounds mathematicians and they end up agreeing.

May God love you all, have a great week.

Weird Goings On

I read an article about a politician and gang members.

Janice Hahn funds gang members

Here is a link to a video that discussed some of this in 2008

This post is not about Ms. Hahn, that is old news, this is about something else and I am not sure exactly what that is yet.

Recently Homeboy Industries which works with gang members opened a restaurant at Los Angeles City Hall. In the past they have received money from the City for providing various services.

Not long ago the LAPD had to dismantle some of the gang units because the officers refused to release their personal financial information to the City.

Now I want to bring up some even older news, it was a little thing called the Rampart Scandal where one officer in the elite CRASH gang unit. Please read the whole link, police officers working for Suge Knight, accusations that police officers were involved in the killing of Notorious B.I.G., and even one officer responsible for robbing a bank.

There was also some report that some officers in the gang unit were arrested for selling guns to gang members. Could there be a connection to all these things.

Science is about to prove there is no God (particle)

So preliminary findings say that there may be no Higgs Boson particle (sometimes referred to as the God particle). This is just too funny and leaves quantum physics in the lurch. It means that they cannot explain one of the most fundamental things in the universe, gravity. Something so simple and evident violates the laws of physics, it also causes problems for the idea of a collapsing universe or singularity. It causes problems all over the place. I love science and watching it attempt to weasel its way out of philosophy or religion. Give me a geologist everytime, I trust them.

Attended a Meeting

I attending a meeting today, I was disappointed. I saw two groups of people attempting to deceive each other, not outright lie, deceive. Neither wanted to just put the cards on the table. Now I do hope you know that your little Pimpernel put it on the table and let everyone think about it, yes I did.

Why do people find it so difficult to just say what they mean? They do it on the internet, they say obscene things because they have anonymity. I say it in the real world where I have none and am gentler online. There is too much room for misunderstanding on the net, it is greatly reduced when in person. Why don't we just be us in both places and always truthful? How bad would that be? Take care. I am watching to watch a show tomorrow.

More newsworthy news

The FCC is asking television and other broadcasters to voluntarily give up their bandwith. It will then be sold and the broadcaster gets a percentage. Now anyone who has been reading my blog for more than a month knows what to do with this information, start reading between the lines rather than figuring out how it will impact you personally. Read it, ask how it will effect other industries, what the consequences will be and then ask how it will impact you.

Do that with everything you read or have been told, there is always something going on behind the scenes and it can be figured out. Is Google in the energy business now, yes they are.

Do not ask for whom the bell tolls

A story from the LA Times about a man whose greed knew no bounds. How much is enough, do not just be mad, be sure that you would have not done the same.

A Thought

If you were DARPA and you were going to dual run the new and old IP addresses at the same time, what would you do to make sure it didn't mess everything up, basically destroy all the information on the internet? I know what I would do, I would take a snapshot of everything, absolutely everything. I wouldn't want everyone to lose their passwords or pictures or anything else so you would have to duplicate every e-mail account, everything. Everything that you have online even if you are not.

That is what you do to a system before you change it, you back that sucker up and with the "cloud" it won't even be an effort. Tomorrow the new IPs will be tested and found to be working fine. If there are any problems with communications it will be blamed on the solar flare that just occurred.

The Brain Becomes Electric

I have mentioned transhumanism before, it is the belief that man and machine should become one in order for man to evolve further. Well, if you like that your going to love this article. It seems that we are continuing down that path. Above the linked article are the names of three books. One of the books is called "You are not a gadget". I read some of what he wrote and felt that we were in agreement. Basically the concern is that this technology tends to separate and dehumanize.

My second concern (well I have many including privacy) is that people will let the internet become their knowledge base. There are people that want access to all knowledge; but, that doesn't mean they understand it. When that occurs, people get lazy and stop seeking understanding and that is really dangerous. It is not just a matter of knowing things, it is a matter of understanding the proper way to use the information.

Here is another article on the internet. It discusses how we have run out of new IP addresses. It then discusses how we are going to test out a new set of them. The test will be conducted tomorrow so you just might see the net not work properly for a bit. Not long ago the Playstation network went down and Lady Gaga apparently shut down Amazon not long ago by selling her album on line for like 99 cents (practically free cookies). What happens, lets just say, if the test crashes and shuts down the whole internet and I am not predicting that or anything else. I am saying, how will you get around, get money, talk to people, whatever?

Now consider this, if you blend your mind with technology, what happens when it goes down for a day? Kinda scary if you really think about it. You never learn basic math because you have a calculator in your brain, you never learn to follow directions because you have a map in your brain. When that sucker shuts down you are completely defenseless.

People are so obsessed with fast and easy that they don't bother learning anything. Yet, all people can see, for the most part, is the cookie, the reward. By the way, the second article mentions that:

"By the 1980s, DARPA rolled out the Internet to the public, with the fourth revision of the address system"

Hey, that is the first time in regular media that I have heard anyone discuss how DARPA is still at the helm of the internet. I bet nobody even cares now. The single greatest machine for propaganda in history, the single greatest way to get the sheep to move in unison. Flash mobs, civil protests, look how fast rumours spread. Even Wall Street moves too the internet, remember the flash crashes that cost billions?

A nice song that sums it up and the title is a good one, Eye in the Sky by the Alan Parsons Project.

What these articles are telling you is that what you receive, what you obtain from the internet is individually tailored. It is designed to follow your preferences and biases to select what you will see. It is a non-stop comforting experience of you being programmed. People talk about the Matrix, this is the matrix, algorithms and the illusion of true interaction. Next year it will even be in 3D. We are not forced into captivity, we merrily head in that direction because that is where the cookies are.

Now we come to a new place or at least we will very soon. I will be ending this blog soon. I have decided to take a break and will be ending most of my online presence for a bit. I will still be using e-mail and will still be using it for research; but, I think I have pretty much touched upon the issues that I wanted with this little experiment.

This blog turned out to be a source of great fun for me, it kept me researching everyday for what was out there, what is coming. For those who know me personally, I will continue to be the same insane person and continue to discuss these things, just not online anymore.

To those who I have never met, I am so glad that you got a chance to see into my little warped brain, a messy thing; but, my own. Don't take anything here too seriously, just examining stuff. I don't have a planned date; but, I will give notice and not just delete everything, in fact I may leave everything up; but, just stop contributing to it. I would even offer to let another take over the blog if they demonstrated and interest and we could agree on what was appropriate.

In the meantime, here is an article that I highly suggest you read. It states that 30% of all companies plan to cease offering employer sponsored health coverage. The fact is that when people switch to the "Affordable Care Act" sometimes referred to as Obamacare; but, it will have another name like HealthyYou or something similarly pleasant. You might not even notice the change and be given more in compensation or have your retirement benefits restored with the money that is saved. Those are some pretty nice looking cookies.

Now, if you go way back somewhere in this blog I talked about how the "Affordable Care Act" would put all government employees off of their current employer sponsored healthcare. Maybe that is how we will solve the government pension crisis. Wait a second, did the GFOA say that there was no government pension problem. Hmmmm, could putting government employees on the new government healthcare program save us from having to lay off all these people, save their jobs?

Ladies and gentlemen, it is a miracle, a solution has been found to our fiscal crisis. The article I wrote long ago said this was going to happen, I just hadn't put the pension crisis into the "solution". Will you miss me when I am gone, will you watch these things as they roll out and understand that it was all orchestrated. I do hope that if anything this blog has helped people to look at things differently. That would make me feel good.

Just because I will not have an online presence does not mean that I will cease to exist, in fact, I will be spending more time in person with new people. I intend to start going out more often. I think I am ready again, I have had my time to heal and to become social again for the first time.

This decision will mean that I write less and I do love writing, I used to really enjoy writing using a pencil and a piece of paper, I liked using typewriters, something so physical and mental at the same time. I liked the clackity clack that typewriters made, it was sort of musical. I do hope you followed the link.

My arthritis makes it very difficult to even sign my name anymore, I certainly couldn't ever draw again, I don't have the fine precision in my hands that I once did. My two favorite things about my body growing up was my incredibly dark black hair, so black it looked blue and my hands. I used to tear phonebooks in half. It is about grip much more than strength.

I don't know how to explain what this blog has meant to me and maybe I won't really know for many years. I love knowing that many start their day by reading it, that pleases me immensely. I am also on a very large website and will be signing off of that soon. My thoughts are in my head and will cease being on the internet. New thoughts will be on the web and my voice will not. I kind of like that. You can wonder when you see some article what I might be thinking about it; but, my hope is that you will just begin to read them differently and dig deeper and look for context before forming an opinion. That is my hope. Be well.

In looking at the stats I see that I began this blog in June of 2009. It is almost the two year anniversary and that might be a good time to finish. This current iteration began in March of 2010 all the prior posts were deleted on two separate occasions. I have posted just about everyday and sometimes multiples for two years straight. If you have been here for any amount of time think about how many different things were discussed.

I won't say that this has been a lot of work, it was more fun than anything else; but, a lot of reading went into this and searching and thinking. It has served it's purpose in my life and it is about time to move on, I had given a hint about this a couple of months back. Be well and I will give the date of the end of this before just ending it.

The funniest thing I have seen in years

Do you just want to laugh and smile and feel love for a second. Then go to this link, I am not going to give any hints; but, tell me when you come back that you didn't like it and I will apologize.

Anomalies on Mars

Someone who was going through google Mars, found something odd. Read the article and watch the video, well worth it. Perhaps we are being primed for something, some sort of revelation about aliens, that would be amusing and make me doubt it even more.

Public Pensions and the lie of underfunding

The Government Finance Officers Association is made up of the best in government finance. They have issued a fact sheet on the status of government pension funds, they say there is no crisis and they should know. Now lets ask ourselves why would we be told there is a crisis with the pension funds and why the media is not reporting what the GFOA is saying.

Let us consider this, if the funds were basically giving away the excess, losing hundreds of millions, then the people running them would need more to keep up their little ponzi schemes.

I remember posting recently about one investment firm that lost hundreds of millions of dollars of pension money and said that the pension funds for government employees were too generous. There needed to be basically more to give to his friends and not return the funds to the people who they were created for.

That is what is really behind the pension crisis, not there being adequately funded for the employees.

Something to consider

Just got up and read this article. A man has now been completely cured of AIDS through a bone marrow transplant and stem cell therapy, he is now immune to AIDS. I had brought this up a while back. He is cured because a babies life was stopped, it was not allowed to grow. While we are glad that he is cured of AIDS, we have entered a "Brave New World" where we can now make ourselves healthier by taking parts from embryos.

Is this the direction we wish to head in?

Hmm, sounds like something is up

Ron Kaye, former editor of the Daily News had an interesting post. I will provide the link. What he is saying is that a Federal Grand Jury has issued permission for electronic surveillance of people working for the City of Los Angeles and that the FBI is looking all over the place. He mentions the Department of Transportation. Hmm, could that have anything to do with the City Controller issuing a audit or the DOT, she wanted to get the first kudos, a political move?

Pension, FBI and Politicians

If Zuma Dogg is correct, then the world is going to get very interesting real quick. I don't know, I kind of think he is right.

My Brain is Hurting Again

This article is very complicated and disturbing. We owe a lot of money as a nation.

Another Wonderful Dinner

Had dinner with a friend again. He is becoming quite the force to reckon with. I suggest the other young stallions stay out of his way unless they are headed in the same direction. I think he liked seeing that everywhere we went, the people working at the establishments knew me and liked seeing me come in. I think maybe it helped him to know that things are just fine for me where I am.

I told him things that unfortunately I cannot discuss here at this moment, I may or may not talk about them in a week or so, we shall see. There is a time to everything and now is not the time. Sometimes it is okay to stay out of things and let them handle themselves in their own manner, sometimes it is okay to let others just do their part.

Same thing with my dear friend, I like to hear how he has already handled his stuff. He knows what to do and just goes out and does it. He can then tell me his story and we all have one; but, his is worth hearing because it ends with things being better.

I read a report today, it said that for the first time in a long time Israelis were allowed to pray on the temple mount, this is big folks. A religious ceremony by Jews was performed on the temple mount. Keep an eye on the mount, something is up and Perez has said that he can see peace for Jerusalem in our time. Peace, I remember reading something about peace in the mideast.

Well dear readers, I must post and say goodnight. I will spend more time when I can.

Planet of the Apes

There is a new Planet of the Apes movie coming out. The Trailer. It looks like it might actually be worth watching. I like the story about some scientist trying to make a drug that repairs the brain. Somewhere someone is doing that.

I am not in favor of drugs that work on your mind. I have to say that I agree with Tom Cruise to an extent, the extended us of mind drugs like prosac is worse than not being on them.

I do however think that there are some in the City of Los Angeles who should consider getting lots of drugs. I don't think the legal marijuana is going to be enough for them when things come down. A Los Angeles blogger who goes by the alias Zuma Dogg had an interesting post about the present City Controller. It is well worth a read.

Someone seems to have made the Dogg aware of the fact that the FBI just might be investigating LADOT. Hmmmm, now why would the FBI be investigating. Maybe it is the state of California itself. I mean after all, if parking tickets were waved at the request of politicians, guess what, that is a violation of state law, it is illegal and LADOT has already admitted to doing it. How come there hasn't been a grand jury investigation, or maybe there has been and we don't know about it. It wouldn't take much when they have already admitted guilt.

People really don't get it and do in fact say some of the dumbest things in audits (and no Pimpernel is not an auditor). People do it in life. They have a big lie, so they tell a little one, not knowing that it will be the one that gets them. I believe the lies have it, well, at least they are gonna get it.

Want a prediction, LADOT is going down and they won't be alone for long. This is going to take at least a couple of Council staffers with them. The Council people will be asked how they keep such people on their staffs and off they go to unemployment land. Wave bye bye. Now, blow a kiss. A kiss and off, kiss off.

I couldn't help it, I saw a cheap joke and took it. I read Zuma's post and tried to question why the FBI might be involved. The options are that they are doing a Rico (organized crime) investigation or that federal funds were improperly spent, I thing they must have received stimulus money, everyone else in the country did for projects.

Sorry dear reader, I am actually writing on another site while trying to post here at the same time. I have six threads going at once and it is beginning to hurt my head and distract me, oh, and I am on a chat site at the same time, fortunately that is quiet.

See you later.

I posted this somewhere eles

I don't usually post the same thing in others places that I post here; but, I like my answer. Someone asked how their could be free will if God was all knowing, omniscient. I like the question.

MY ANSWER TO HIS QUESTION

I am answering your question with my understanding. I am limited same as everyone else, I don't have all knowledge. We understand that we exist, that we have sentience, that means that sentience in the universe exists. That is a good definition of God, the sentience of the universe. I mean it must start with knowing something. I make decisions, choices between right and wrong, that is free will I think.

If I have a child, I can usually figure out what choices they will make, if I know my child will eat all the cookies if I leave them out and I put them where the child cannot get to them, I have denied them certain choices; but, not free will. Free will does not mean getting your way, it means getting to chose amongst the options available. Getting to decide which you prefer even if you cannot necessarily obtain what you desire. Isn't that why we have created a virtual world, so we can be or get whatever we want?

What I have said is that we know two things. We have free will (the right to decide our own preferences) and there is sentience in the universe. As we grow, we learn more and our preferences can change. We know that we can grow. Some, not I, claim that we can become God and know all (gnostics and other new age groups).

You asked a lot so I am chewing on the pieces slowly and hopefully fully. Have to place the building blocks first.

The only question left is whether or not God is all knowing. I want to approach this in two ways. One it requires that we assume there is a God, if there is no God in your assumption than I can answer if he is all knowing. It is like asking someone who has never touched their wife, "Do you still beat your wife?". I am assuming that you are not going to use the question to have me prove there is a God, that would be a different question. Apparently many the assumption that your question is if there is a God, they don't read well or don't to see true discussions on any spiritual issue or question, they are all knowing, the all knowing sentience of the world, I would call them little gods, the limited sentience of the universe. For if they are like me then they know that they don't have all the answers.

Now, there are two ways to answer you, the gnostic and non-gnostic (be it Christian, Muslim or Jew). The gnostic will tell you that you can create your own universe and achieve all knowledge, to them (genarlization) we are God, our combined knowledge is all knowledge that can be known and eventually we become one. There answer does work as a possibility in answering you. The combined sentience of the universe is God and you are part of it. There answer would not deny free will. I don't agree with it; but, it does answer your question.

My answer is different. It is a Christian perspective and not far from parts of how the gnostics believe. In the bible it says in the beginning was the word and the word was God and the word was with God. What was the word, what did he call himself, he called himself the great I AM. What do you figure that means? If you define sentience it gets interesting. Sentience is the awareness of emotions and sensations. That is how we all begin. That leads to a conclusion, I AM, I exist. In the beginning God discovered that he existed. That is why it is the beginning, he had a thought rather than just experience. At that moment he knew all knowledge that was or had ever been in the universe. He was omniscient. At that moment, knowing less of the universe was possible for anything he created.

I don't presume a God that is also not capable of growth. I believe he made us so he could grow as we grew. As each part of us grows, so does society, constantly grappling with more and more difficult choices. As we make different choices he gets to see new things also, he knows as we know so he always knows all that we can know. If we could hear him, it might get in the way of our free will and then he learns less.

You see, the area we disagree over is the definition of all knowing. Perfection is not a result, it is a process, same thing with knowledge. He may know that can be known at any given second while still learning more. Free will is necessary for greater knowledge for him and us. Eternity is a very long time and continual growth would be needed to make it tolerable and worthwhile.

A Book, a Burger a Compliment

Dear readers, I bought a book today, it is called "The Jane Austen Handbook (Proper Life Skills from Regency England)". The book sort of discusses what was expected of young ladies and gentlemen, the first chapter is "How to Become an Accomplished Lady" ans suggests that they study several languages, acquire a basic grasp of geography and history, become a proficient musician, draw or paint the picturesque, master the art of needlework and learn to dance gracefully. I should explain a little more, the author wrote the book so that people reading the lovely Jane would understand what the people that she wrote about lived like.

What would you recommend young ladies to learn today, not saying that the skills Jane recommended would not be useful today; but, certainly we would expect ladies today to have a different set of skills. Clearly a good understanding of language and math, an ability to cook and basic mechanical skills (should be able to take care of oneself). An ability with some art (music, painting, sculpture...) because we should all know the joy of art, it frees us to be more expressive. When I was younger I wrote music (just lyrics had to keep the rhythm in my head), drew quite extensively and of course I liked to write. Knowledge of basic geography and history is essential to understanding the world, it is even more useful now because the internet links us with people in other countries in real time and we should have some understanding of them and their history.

I was on a chat site and most of the people I interacted with were in foreign countries. It was nice to already have a basic understanding of their countries, it helped me to get a sense of them. Americans know too little about other countries and that is not going to help them as we interact more and more internationally.

I guess the question is why I bought the book. I bought it because of the burger. Really, the burger led to the book. I was driving home and decided to get a Umami Burger, they are exclusive to Southern California. I had read that they were supposed to be the best burger in Southern California, I decided to try one. Now, I do not promote any products and I paid for mine, I even had a friend come meet me and have one also. Two burgers, one beer, one wine and one Bubble up, fries and mushed potatoes later (between the two of us), including tip I spent about $60. Okay I didn't say it was cheap and I tip well.

I had the burger with truffle sauce, I like truffles. It was an excellent burger, top notch, the service was fantastic (had a very sweet waitress) and the atmosphere was young but calm. I would recommend it to others. Heck after eating half mine, that is when I decided to call my friend to come and try it. Just taking a little time to stop and smell the roses so to speak. Most days I just grab something easy.

Well, after having my burger I decided to stop in this little store that was nearby and had replicas of old stuff like games and jewelry and nick knacks. I saw the book, it was about Jane and I bought it.

Unrelated to all of this was something that happened today, a compliment. A very nice lady that works in my building told me that she loved one of my recent posts. She told me that when she read my stuff she could hear my voice in her head and that my writing was sort of addictive to her. That was of the kindest compliments I have ever heard and really made me feel good. I believe I write fairly clearly; but, when I read Jane, I know I can never write like she could.
