An odd question

So two days after Obama made friends with the Russian president, "a relationship reset", the FBI arrested 10 Russian spies and Interpol arrested an eleventh. The Russians said that the arrests were an anti-Obama action and that he did not have control over his police. Control?

Russians in their own words; but, what does it mean, what did they expect?

Drugs in my brain

I had just finished posting and then read this article.

Brain chemical makes us more impulsive

You mean I am not impulsive because I haven't learned to control myself? I am impulsive because my brain pollutes me with chemicals. Hey kids, science has a ready made excuse for your being a jerk. You cannot help it. You have natural drugs in your brain. Sounds like more reasons why you are just an object, a mechanical object with no self will. You cannot help yourself, you are just an animal reacting to stimuli.

Wait a second; but, not everyone acts impusively even with the same amount of dopamine. Hmmmm. Didn't the experts figure that out, well yes they did. Why didn't they talk about the people who controlled their urges? Why didn't they discuss what it takes to control those urges? That would have value, people could learn to control their urges by learning from others who did. Maybe they want you to take the excuse, to be a sheep that chases the cookies. Maybe then we wouldn't be commoners, the unwashed masses, the sheep who they justify taking advantage of.

Life or Death

An article in the London Times today says, "Yes, abortion is killing; but, it is the lesser evil". A couple of weeks ago a murderer was executed by the state of Utah by firing squad, people questioned the state's use of a firing squad. In the past people have been charged with murder for shooting a pregnant women when the unborn baby died. We seem awfully confused about what is killing.

Decades ago I was in a political science class. The Professor stated that conservatives inconsistent because they were for the death penalty but against abortion. I found his statement insincere and pointed out that liberals were equally inconsistent being in favor of the abortion but against the death penalty. I then stated the difference between the two was one wanted to kill the guilty and the other the innocent. He became very agitated; but, then we started discussing the real issues.

There is always a lot of killing in the news, sometimes we call it murder and other times we call it abortion or casualties of war or collateral damage or whatever. We have plenty of ways of discussing acceptable killings. Some people get awards for killing or even promotions. During war both sides give out awards for killing people on the other side. Awards are nice, it means the government approves of what you have done so you need not feel any guilt.

There is a famous science experiment. College students were paid to participate in the experiment. They were sat before a panel that had little knobs and dials. They were told that the knobs and dials would provide an electric shock to someone in another room that they could hear but not see. Everytime the person in the other room gave a wrong answer the student would give them an ever increasing electrical shock. The "subjects" would scream louder and louder, they would beg. The monitor would tell the student to continue and 95% of them did, most to the point where it appeared the "subject" had passed out from the pain.

The reality of the situation was that there was no subject and no electrical shock was actually given; but, the students did not know this. After the war, the Nazis would say that they were just following orders. Social acceptance means more to most people than does doing what is right. I praise the Lord for making me autistic. He referred to us as sheep for a reason.

I don't watch television anymore and I don't play video games anymore. I am not against all television and I am not against playing video games, it is a question of time. Watching an action movie will not warp your mind, filling your mind with violent images will desensitize you to violence. Oh, I watch one show it is on 12 days a year, it is Dexter and it is about a serial killer. 12 days out of 365 is too few to have a tremendous impact. When it comes on in September, I will plug my television back in.

The debate over abortion IN THE MEDIA is not about right or wrong, it is about desensitizing you until you see it as normal and accepted. The message being blared at us is that killing is okay, not just in regards to abortion in regards to any state sanctioned killing. The message is that the government will decide what killing is acceptable and what killings are not. The issue is not you it is that the killing is authorized.

The police took a man off a Bart train in San Francisco, they sat him down and because he argued they shot him in the head. The issue was not that they felt threatened; but, instead that they felt their "authority" was being questioned. The most important thing to "Authority" is not right or wrong, it is that you accept their right to decide what happens to you.

At the G20 hundreds of people were arrested, they blamed it on a few people who "rioted"; but, they arrested hundreds. They arrested people just for being there. They were establishing their "authority" and "maintaining order". It is all garbage.

The concept of authority is garbage. It is an illusion that we have created to blame someone else for our actions. Authority is our excuse for doing things because it will give us acceptance. I don't need societies acceptance or authorities permission, I take responsibility for my choices and live with the consequences. That does not mean I am responsible for societies or authorities or anyone else's choices, I am responsible for my own.

People effect us; but, they do not choose for us. My middle child gave me an ultimatum, I will live a certain way or she will not be around me. I am sorry that I will not be seeing her until she learns to stop telling other people how to live. I have had people "tell" me what to do all my life, I will not push the button for their acceptance. That is the wrong reason for doing anything.

I do not care what "society" thinks of abortion or war, that does not make it right for me. It also does not change the end result, death. We have arranged all of our institutions to tell you what is right and wrong, the real question is whether or not you believe you are doing what is right, not best, right.

We are trained from a young age to do a cost benefit analysis, it is the same as training people that you can use any means to an end. It is wrong. We must seek to do right more than we seek to be right.

I was asked a question today. A lady who works told me about a problem with an employee and the people involved with the issue were not around. I was told there was a law suit and that attorneys and experts were involved. Yet, I was faced with today and the problem in front of me. I asked myself what would stabilize the situation until I could get all the facts and then made a decision. I risked my career to do the right thing. Not a biggie, been here before. I tell my assistants that I would rather go down for trying to do the right thing than I would be willing to keep my job for doing the wrong thing.

We want the cookies of this world, we want to live in Club Med, we want to be perfect, we want to look down on others who are worse than us, we want to decide which sins are worse and ours are never as bad as the person next to us or we might have to look at ourselves. I will tell you right here and now that I am a flawed person, I am not perfect. Same thing I tell gay people when they ask me if homosexuality is a sin. I am not perfect, I lust and sometimes I lust a lot, I did today.

It is not about imperfection, the real trap is deciding which sins are worse. My ex-wife cheated on me, it is that simple. While it had an impact on me, we do effect each other, I cannot rate her sin. I can talk about it's effect on me; but, I cannot rate it, their is no scale and we are all equally guilty. Some sins are only felt by us. I mean if I see a sexy married woman and lust for her, nobody will know; but, it is just as much a sin as if I slept with her. Sin is anything that is short of perfection it is not rated by the effect it has.

On a human scale we judge things based on effect. Attempted murder is treated as a lesser crime than is murder. Is this right? I mean if I am willing to kill someone and do my best to achieve that goal; but fail, am I anymore trustworthy than someone who succeeded? You see, the heart is the measure not the effect. Hearts are hard to measure so we mere mortals rely on effect. What is the effect of shooting someone and what is the effect of having a doctor rip an unborn child apart and sucking them up a hose? It is the end of a life.

When I was young I slammed a young boys hand in a door. I was wrong and what I did was evil. I was 12 and that does not change one damn thing. I knew what I was doing when I did it, I just didn't care. I have not let this leave my mind, he forgave me long ago. For him it was about forgiveness, for me it is about learning. I will try and learn as much from that act as I can until I die.

When my father was sick and dying I tried to take all the good out of the situation as I could. I have tried to tell others what I learned from the situation. It has helped some when they were in the same situation. We all make mistakes and we all do evil, the question is what can we learn from our mistakes, we can never learn enough to become perfect; but, we can learn and try and be better.

The London Times article was offensive because it said that if society said abortion was okay then it is. We can disagree about whether abortion is right or wrong; but, "societies" opinion, agreement does not make it so. The message I detest is that society gets to decide what is right and wrong, we have free will and should stop looking for excuses. It does not matter what the issue is.

Must Watch Video

The link I am providing is to a segment that was on Jon Stewarts show. He is interviewing a man named Jim Cramer. Mr. Cramer ran a hedge fund and now has a show called "Mad Money" on which he gives stock market advice.

In the interview, Mr. Stewart questions the use of market manipulation and options trading. What is really being discussed is that many people knew the market was being manipulated since 1999 and that it was going to crash; but, the financial experts did not expose it.

The Jon Stewart interview of Jim Cramer

Now, I have been saying for about four years that the housing bubble and the stock crash were engineered and intentional. When I was saying it four years ago, most people thought I had lost my mind. Instead they listened to Bernake, Paulson, Greenspan and people like Mr. Cramer. I want you to watch this video made around that time.

Schiff versus Stein

More financial experts lying

And the false solutions

And now comes the sad part. The solution was planned at the same time the problem was created. The solution is less, less for everyone in the United States. There are people who think they are taking part in a "tea party revolution", it is a manufactured outlet for their rage, it is not real.

Regardless of what side people were on in these "arguments", the solution they are promoting is to stop options trading that eliminates your retirement funds from having insurance against wild swings in the market. The large movements in the market allowed everyone to make money off of your retirement except you.

The games that were being played are all being exposed and that is good; but, the solution will fundamentally change the market when it does not need to. By going back to the rules that were in place during the late 90s we can substantially fix the problem. We do not need to create a situation where the market lies flat.

With congress passing 2,000 pages of financial reform and they are claiming they don't even know what effect the changes will have, we are continuing to be lied to. Those who understand the changes will make money and those who do not will continue to lose.

Average people are now paying more attention to the economy. They are outraged by what is happening in America, this is all good. They are also being sold a bill of goods about the solutions. The solutions will result in a weaker United States and more of a reliance on globalization.

I am personally in favor of limiting options trading and forcing stock valuations to be meaningful, to be based on the underlying value of the companies. I am in favor of CEOs only getting bonuses if the company makes a profit rather than if the stock goes up. The current method makes companies do things that are bad for the long term life of the company; but, are good for the short term value of the stock. Warren Buffet is correct about such things.

Where I disagree is in regards to having insurance on your company. All companies have risk. Risk is an innate part of life and that is why we have insurance. Insurance is like a savings account, we all contribute and if one of us fails the insurance is there to protect us. AIG was the largest insurance company of financial institutions in the world. They stopped acting as an insurance company and began acting as a financial risk taker.

Since 1999 everyone became a risk taker. People took out second mortgages on their primary residences to play in the stock market. Companies bought risky stocks and derivatives and paid less attention to their businesses. Pension funds invested in crazy schemes to avoid having to have people put more money in their pensions and having the corruption of the managers exposed. We became a economy of gambling rather than an economy of stability.

The solution being proposed is that we have less and pay off the debt that was created by "Wall Street" and NEVER LET IT HAPPEN AGAIN (that is the same as was said after the great depression. I fully believe we will nationalize the federal reserve, heck, we have nationalized the banks. Our wages will go down, we will have an international reserve currency or the value of currencies will be tied to one another (same thing) and our standard of living will be tied to productivity.

If we do not accept these results, the economy will be allowed to completely fail. That has always been the real intent behind what was begun in 1999 and became apparent in 2007-2008. But, listen to the videos, this was not an accident and was apparent to those who were in charge.

We are being taken down a path of monitoring each other. It is not "too big to fail" it is instead "to weak to influence change". The western governments are all implementing "austerity measures". State governments are choosing between prisons and schools. It is nationwide and international not limited to local. That is so that we will look at things more globally.

The Chinese workers will begin to be paid better and the west will begin to be paid less. Our national greed led to this. Too many people wanted a free lunch and gambled to get it. The party is over, the house is a mess and now comes the time to clean the house. No matter how bad the hangover or how great the party, it is time to get back to work. You and I will get back to work; but, the damage cannot be undone, the lamp is broken, the couch has vomit on it, the dishes are broke.

Some of us chose not to be at the party, still we live in the house also and have to help clean it up. You might say that this is unfair, fair has nothing to do with it. It is no more fair than a Chinese laborer having to work 14 hour days to pay for our debt. Selling our debt to the Chinese and Russians and Japanese in order to buy Escalades and chrome wheels was also unfair.

My ex-wife got half my pension and to keep our BMW, she also gets paid by me monthly for doing nothing. I am not alone in this situation it happens all the time in divorce. We took vows (a contract, a promise), she broke them and I pay for the privilege. It is no different than what we have done as a nation, no different than what Greece has done. The Germans didn't do it; but, they were forced to pay for Greece's default on their promises. My point is that we have to look at our promises in the same light that we look at what we have done as a nation to understand what is going on.

The problems in the economy were known for a long time. We have been trained to believe that we should take as much as we can while we are alive and die with as much debt as possible. That is considered winning by many. As long as we think that way, we will not deserve what we get and are leaving our children with our debt.

More on Patriotism and God

I want to talk about three things, country, soldiers and religion.

Country, it is merely land with imaginary borders. The borders of countries are not fixed, look at history. We are indoctrinated with a concept of us versus them, of division. It is an illusion. More than anything else, countries are separations of political forms and economic interests. For the past two hundred years our border with Canada has barely existed. It was the longest unguarded border in the world and it was not a problem.

I am against globalism as it is preached, I am also against believing that the mere fact that someone was born in another country makes them less deserving. If you are working for minimum wage digging trenches are you that different from someone doing the same job in Mexico? Wars are not fought between countries, they tell us they are; but, they really are not. Wars are fought by average citizens for the benefit of those who control us in our own country.

We are in Iraq because of oil, which the people here have to pay more for to pay for the war. If you want to find out about Vietnam, start by reading about the Gulf of Tonkin. Most wars are for the wrong reasons and the populace is lied to. They accept the lie to sooth their guilt. Few of the soldiers in Iraq think we should be there.

Young men and women join the service for many reasons. Some were drafted, some join to become "men", some join for an education, some to have a job and some because they are patriotic. Just because someone was a soldier does not mean they are patriotic. We credit all of them with that; but, it is not the truth.

The single most impactful thing that a government does is go to war; but, the government doesn't go to war, poor people do. What is even more horrifying is the average age of soldiers worldwide. Children as young as 10 are soldiers around the world. Many couldn't spell the word patriotic.

My original post was NOT directed at American soldiers, it was directed soldiers and church, I will explain better when I get to the part about religion. War is not to be praised, we can appreciate the courage and good intentions of those who fought under the belief that they were being patriotic and I do; however, that does not mean that I must agree with war, any war. I have come to believe that Gandhi's was the best.

In college I had a friend, he had been forced into the military at 14 and sent to Mozambique. He watched pregnant women be bayoneted, he witnessed it. He was in the Portuguese army. He deserted because he couldn't participate in it any more, was he unpatriotic? We glorify war way too much. We talk about war in terms of the soldier who jumped on the hand grenade and ignore the atrocities done on every side.

The issue is not someone's uncle, brother, cousin or even themselves. It is about war. It is about putting a bullet in someone's head and watching it split, their brains spill out and their life end so that Exxon can make more money. I have known way to many soldiers who 40 and 50 years later still could not bring themselves to discuss what they had seen or done. Too many come away from war knowing that we should not have been there.

As for God, he said that he who lives by the sword shall die by the sword. That doesn't sound like we should make it a way of life. Our appreciation for individuals who believe they are protecting their family should not be used to justify the politicians and industrial companies getting our families to do the fighting for the benefit of the politicians and companies.

A simple question, if the citizens or soldiers got to vote on when to go to war, would we have more wars or fewer? The war we are in right now is so wrong that the government is fearful of ex-soldiers becoming terrorists after returning to the United States. That is contained in a pamphlet distributed by the FBI to local authorities. The government is afraid of the soldiers who are patriotic, what does that say about the war?

How many sons and daughters of your congressional members are fighting in Iraq, last I heard was one. How patriotic is your congress?

I read too many posts across the net from fools calling for us to "bomb into nonexistence" whatever country annoys them. I have read Muslims and Americans say kill them all. They do not even stop to think, "them all", includes children who just want to grow up. Knee jerk morons who risk nothing. They incite rather than solve. Then comes justification afterwards, we say "we thought he had weapons of mass destruction" or "he would have had them eventually" or whatever garbage takes the guilt away.

War is not a video game, it is not an adventure movie and it is not glorious. The sooner we stop looking at it in that manner and the more likely we are to be more cautious before engaging in it.

As far as my church goes. Non-active ex-military people should not be in uniform in the church. The church should not support war. If the church wishes to support SOLDIERS, then it should go to the Veterans Hospital and support them or raise money for them and their families, not glorify the idea of being a soldier, not promote war.

When the Iraq war began, there were many reservists who said they didn't think they would be asked to go to war, they were just trying to make some money on the weekends. Anytime you train to use a gun to KILL people you better figure you may be asked to.

I was one of those brainwashed, patriotic kids. I was Navy ROTC, wrote on "Conduct unbecoming an officer and a gentleman" in Law School and was offered a commission in the military. Hey, I was all set to be a professional soldier. What changed my mind over the years was talking to people in the military. The story from all of them was pretty much the same, war is a bad idea and usually done for the wrong reasons. Many remained patriotic but disgusted with how the wars were conducted.

Arrogance

There is a online magazine called Skeptico. It's main purpose is to discredit anyone who disagrees with the "experts". To see the attitude of scientists please read the following short posting.

You are not an expert so shut up.

Basically he says that unless you are a acknowledged expert you should not question them. Do not think for yourself, you are not qualified. He says it is not you place to question scientists about global warming and presumably anything else. Well, he can kiss my little white rump. THINK FOR YOURSELF BUT RESEARCH. I am not impressed by scientists telling us to be sheep. That is not their place.

Something woke me up

I couldn't tell you what it was; but, I woke up at 3 o'clock. I decided to have a cigarette and check my e-mail. I scanned the London Times and found this.

Scientists and Abortion

The link will be gone in a day. The London Times, front page says that scientists have "authoritative" information proving that foetuses cannot feel pain. They say the information comes just in time as some people are trying to restrict abortions. How fortunate for those in favor of abortion. Those scientists sure know how to have timely information.

This is not about abortion, I am against killing living things. Science defines life as an organism that has certain properties, growth. If it grows it is alive. Growth for humans starts at conception, that is science. It has nothing to do with abortion, it is just science, real science. Some scientists support abortion, that is okay; but, to then twist science to achieve a goal is hypocrisy.

Scientists do not know when babies begin having sensation, they cannot even tell you what awareness is. Nobody knows what you feel we can only go by what you tell us and people lie. There are no "authoritative" sources.

Patriotism and God

Consider this a gripe post. I was reading something and it posed the following questions.

"Do you believe patriotism and belief in God are synonymous? If not, why not?

Do you believe the phrase “Under God” should be removed from the Pledge of Allegiance?

Does the phrase “Under God” make it appear that the USA only welcomes people who believe in God?

I wish to answer the questions. Patriotism and God are not synonymous. When asked about a tax, Jesus held up a coin and asked whose picture was on the coin. They answered that it was of Caesar. Jesus replied, give unto Caesar that which is Caesars and give unto God that which is Gods. That does not sound synonymous. Jesus told us to be good slaves, he did not tell us to love the state.

Should the phrase "under God" be removed from the pledge of allegiance? No, the pledge should be abolished. We are told not to swear to anything or by anything. I will not take an oath to this or any other nation. My allegiance is to God.

The question of whether or not having a pledge that includes the phrase "under God" and to whether or not it makes non-religious people feel unwelcome is silly. Plenty of them come her who are not spiritual or are of non-Christian religions. Muslims, Hindus, atheists and just about anyone else coming to America already knows it is primarily a Christian believing nation. Still I wouldn't make anyone take a pledge.

I attended a church that once a year would honor our soldiers. I stopped attending. I did not care for them having military uniformed people parade inside the church. This may sound strange coming from someone in a military family. I honor all of our military that go into it with the belief that they are protecting their country; but, Christ was against war. He said he who lives by the sword will die by the sword. I am not for using the church to promote militarism.

I believe it is the state's place, if it so chooses, to give military parades, not the churches. God let Israel be overtaken in war and put into subjugation more than once. I do not respect the statement during war that "God is on our side", we need to not blame him when we do what we want. He is not to blame for our choices.

Not really picking on science

I may sound as if I am against science, I am not. I am against scientists being given credit for a truth they do not know. Whenever something unusual happens we turn to the experts and scientists to give us answers that will not force us to adjust our world view, we want it simple and satisfying. Life and truth are not simple and often not satisfying or comforting.

We are moving from a technological age into a new era. The internet creates a web of thoughts and beliefs. It is grandly expansive in its nature. A repository for all thought which is then organized into our shared awareness. This presents a fundamental change in the exchange of information and experience.

Today, a man walking in the Amazon forest, completely separated from other people can twitter about his experience. School children can participate in his experience, real time. In the next year of so that same man will be able to video his experience in real time 3D and you can be in a room where you have an identical 3D experience. That is something that could not be conceived of 50 years ago.

The internet explodes with ideas and thoughts and beliefs. Many are ill thought or simply wrong. Others are contrary; but, all have some truth even if only the truth of the writers. I am not saying they are correct, I am saying they have some truth, there is a difference.

I will use 9-11 as an example. 100 years ago if something happened in New York, it would be reported in the newspaper and people in the rest of the world would accept it as truth. Today, instead of having one source for the truth, we have millions of opinions and perspectives on the event. People then take sides and there is no limitation on the number of sides that can be taken.

The internet is creating a general unravelling of consensus. I think that is a good thing to a degree. The past generation or partial present if you prefer, is attempting to maintain control over "the truth". Scientists are being questioned and they do not like it. They seek to maintain their image of being the experts. The climategate documents showed that the scientists were hiding information that contradicted what they were saying about climate change. It showed that they did not have all the answers so they ignored the data they did not like. That is what scientists do with anomalies, ignore them.

The God Particle (I really recommend you check out this website) is a required anomaly. If they prove it does not exist then all of modern physics is proven wrong. If they prove it exists than all of modern physics is wrong. Either way, it proves science does not hold all the answers and cannot explain the most fundamental things.

Scientists are attempting to come to grips with realities that do not conform to any of the rules. Things that cannot be explained physically or mechanically. They had attempted to answer the universe with what is known as the string theory. In essence it was an attempt to reconcile the fact that the rules change on a subatomic level. There are two sets of mechanical rules and they contradict each other. The string theory ended up with physicists claiming their were an unlimited number of alternate realities. ROFL. It became a spiritual argument.

On a spiritual level it is a question of how can we all be different and all be connected. As these theories spread, they mutated into the non physics world. Millions of people read books on these theories and it spread into how they interpreted real life events and awareness. In fact, if you read new age or mystery religion writings you will find an attempt to use the explanations of physics to prove a single united consciousness.

Many years ago I saw William Peter Blatty on television. He was talking about a sequel he had written to "The Exorcist". He proposed that we were all one, that there was just one God. He said God had made himself schizophrenic, that he had split himself into multiple personalities and that we were all part of him. He then proposed that life was about reassembling ourselves into God. Trying to become one again united, the same, one consciousness.

Within physics is quite a lot of discussion regarding duality of theories. This is the same discussion had by mystery schools regarding consciousness. The problem for both is that free will cannot exist for their beliefs to be true. That is why sentience is such an annoyance to them and is disregarded as illusion; but, even illusion requires sentience. It is as if they want to tell us that the physical is real and we are not, we are merely mechanical reactions to various stimuli.

The study of psychology and it's misuse are an attempt to prove that we merely react to events and that those reactions can be predicted and will follow a set of rules. Forgiveness and grace go against those rules. The rules say that we will chase cookies and avoid pain. The guy who jumps on a hand grenade to save his friend goes against the predictability model.

The God Particle

Awhile back I read about how scientists had created the Large Hadron Collider in hopes of creating the "God Particle". It is a particle that sort of proves nothing real exists. By that it mean, it explains why things that do not have mass, have mass. A famous scientist who wrote a book on the Higgs Boson or God Particle, has a line in his book, "Nothing exists except atoms and space, everything else is opinion". That is exactly what a scientist would say. I have said this before, to scientists we are the illusion.

Sentience does not make sense in a material world, to material world lovers and spiritual life haters. Self awareness eludes the physical world. They attempt to prove that the physical can exist and conceptually, it cannot. A "real" world is not a possibility for sentient beings. It is a joke, physical reality is the only illusion.

The Higgs Boson or God particle proves exists if they find it or not. The search for it logically proves nothing exists except spiritually, awareness wise. The scientists have said that they have already proved that mass should not exist. If mass should not exist than the physical world cannot exist except as a image in our mind. If they do create the particle, same problem. The particle proves that nothing physical can exist.

I apologize to the readers especially if they are not familiar with quantum physics. I am trying really hard to explain it as simply and directly as possible. The Big Bang only makes sense if you can explain how mass, matter came from nothing. The God Particle is the attempt at that explanation. That is why they call it the God Particle, it is the God that proves that a physical world can exist. If found it will only prove that the physical world cannot exist. It is a joke.

All of physics, as we know it, changes if the particle is found. It proves that reality cannot be physical. When they created the Large Hadron Collider to find the particle, everything that could go wrong did. Scientists working at the lab said it was as if God was coming from the future to stop us from finishing the collider.

The scientists have come to an end to the theories they have put forth and have no others. Quantum physics was a necessary farce. The problem that was encountered by scientists is that all of the most fundamental rules fail on a subatomic level. Quantum physics attempts to explain the reason for this. The God Particle is the end of the explanation.

Consider that the manner in which physical elements act on a subatomic level is different then the manner they interact on an atomic level and higher. As a consequence, we had to create a whole new field of science. Quantum physics. Now they have justify their existence and the God particle is the only way; however, once proven it violates all of regular physics no matter the answer.

The problem has always been gravity. It cannot be as weak as it is and have object react to it the way that they do. This has been known for a very long time. There is not enough mass, gravity, to justify planets, people or atoms from reacting to each other in the manner they do. Either everything should have stayed together (no big bang) or everything should be flying apart at a faster speed based on the amount of gravity exerted.

The scientist who wrote the book about it said they had wanted to call it that goddamn particle. There is a reason. Now let us consider the consequences. LOL.

What if tomorrow the world wakes up to the headline that science has proven that nothing physical can exist, heck it proved that bees could not fly. Given it's track record, science will probably prove that pigs could if they really want to. Descartes proved science silly, he said, "I think therefore I am". Logic is greater than all science. I am. The scientist says only matter is real. Having said that, no matter what anyone "proves" they cannot prove that I do not exist. Apparently the scientists can prove that reality does not. They will still be wrong.

Matter cannot be explained by science and the God Particle necessity to prove their scientific findings proves that. It proves that reality cannot be explained except on philosophical grounds. If they cannot explain why their rules contradict each other than they are left with the answer, "Because God made it that way". I don't think they like that answer, although, more quantum physicists are spiritual than non-quantum physicists. The physicists need to have a God Particle proves that we are spiritual beings having a perceived physical experience.

Now what happens when people discover they are spiritual beings and that this universe, this reality is not possible? How do we begin seeing ourselves? There will be a couple of main camps. One will say that we are all one, the same, split personalities. The other will say we are multiple, unique beings sharing an experience; but, still distinct.

Science has proudly proven that we cannot trust our sight, hearing, taste, smell or touch. They constantly tell us how these senses can be fooled and then attempt to prove that by using these senses they can prove such things. On a subatomic level, everything is as God wants it to act, it follows his rules, not science and can be explained no other way.

Lady Gaga

I bet you never thought I would have a post on Lady Gaga. It isn't really about her as you will see. Before I get to the point, I do need to write some preface. I have heard Lady Gaga, I have seen her pictures and even heard her do an interview. She seems like a fairly nice girl with a perspective I am not entirely in agreement with. She is 24, a child.

Lady Gaga is the biggest new celebrity, she wears outlandish costumes and writes her own music. I have to give her credit for writing her own music, it is dance music (which I do not particularly care for) and is very popular. She studied music and is very much into fashion and art. Artist should be. Someone said she is a cross between performance art and pop music. I think I can agree with that.

If I have an issue with Lady Gaga, it is with her message. I understand she is personally against violence; but, her message is of the hopelessness of finding love. This is not a message I agree with or condone. Still, I would fight for her right to write her songs and have people decide for themselves.

The short of it is, I know who she is, believe she has a kind heart and believe her message is bad. I regularly talk to people in their 20s and I am sure she would be quite a lot of fun to talk to. We would probably discuss her music and its message rather than her clothes. Heck, if I ever did meet her I would want her to be dressed in her costume. I am sure it would be fun and amusing for both of us.

We have now got the general garbage out of the way. Recently, Lady Gaga was given a lot of grief over her attending a baseball game in New York. Some claimed they were shocked and offended by her outrageous behaviour. This is utter nonsense. The press complained that she showed up at the game in a revealing outfit. This is a sport that promotes men being half naked and painting themselves with their teams colors while getting drunk and into fights. Lets not forget that they invited Lady Gaga and then expected her not to wear something to be noticed. Am I to believe that the owner of the Mets is retarded and didn't know who she was?

It is also claimed that Lady Gaga flipped off some reporters, yeah, like that has never happened before and this is worthy of international news? A 24 year old at a baseball game was scantily clad and flipped off some paparazzi. Hang her, make it international news, draw and quarter her. Give me a frickin break. Why and how is this news?

The truth of the matter is that the Mets wanted the publicity and so did Lady Gaga. She is big news and everything she does gets reported so the Mets invited her and hoped to get a news story out of it. I guarantee that they did not invite her so that she could show up in a summer dress and quietly come and go. They wanted the publicity. When the San Diego Padres invited Roseanne Barr to sing the National Anthem, do you really believe they thought she could sing? Plenty of singers out there and Roseanne was not know for singing, she was a comedian.

Artificial dramas are created for publicity, that is all this is. The dramas are used to get people to take positions on silly things. Publicity is a drug and all the junkies come out to get their fix. Jerry Seinfeld decided to publicly talk about how Lady Gaga had talent but not class. If he wants publicity all he has to do is put on a show. How lame. Hey, Jerry, why don't you talk about how you were involved with a child and things that matter like the economy or the wars. Oh or talk about how your friend, Larry David, pissed on a cross on television, I guess you don't find that offensive.

The media only makes money when people are outraged or we are at war. Check out the days on when newspapers and television watching were at their highest. Conflict, controversy and bs are the trade of the media. Lady Gaga is merely the lightening rod of the moment. Stop being led into stupid discussions over meaningless things while the economy is being destroyed and our way of life is coming to an end. Focus on what matters.

Google Voice.

Google Voice is a internet call service. If someone calls one of your phone numbers, the service will automatically call all of your phone numbers. If someone leaves a message, it will convert the message to an e-mail. Guess that means it has the capability of converting all of your conversations to written form. Same technology.

BP oil spill costs public pensions in the United States $1.4 Billion and Calpers lost $285 million. How much more will the pensions lose if the oil keeps spilling?

I lied, one more thing

My attorney is the best in the world. I paid her when my taxes came in; but, she had one thing left to do. She had to send in paperwork so my retirement would be split with the ex. She sent me the paperwork and no bill. She said, when I paid her, she still had to do that thing and it would only be a couple of hours.

The law may be an ass and the system may suck (I did not cuss); but, I have nothing but the greatest respect for my attorney and my ex's attorney. They did their job and it was a job that had to be done. I cannot blame my ex's attorney for doing her job and do not. I cannot be mad that my attorney charged me for her time, it's her job. I would have been agreeable with paying them both if the court so ordered.

How many people will tell you that they appreciate their ex's attorney for doing their job? I understand the system, heck, I told both attorneys how things would turn our, they were wrong and I was right. To make any process work, you must have professionals, people who do their job and leave their personal feelings out of it, that is for judges and legislators.

I thank my attorney and my ex's attorney for doing their jobs. Neither was responsible for the outcome and I would, and have, recommended both to people I know. I have lost half my retirement and a couple of thousand a month; but, that is just what it is. Attorneys can be decent people and I am fortunate that I can say that both were.

If and when I remarry, I may even invite my ex's attorney, just to let her know that everything is all right. Respect professionals for being professional and know that many attorneys become such to make sure the process works. I don't want doctors judging their patients and I don't want attorneys to act as judges. I want professionals to be professionals. We should worry that the process is working.

One last thing on the Lord

Well, not quite, the Lords. I recently posted on Kings and Queens and discussed how we were considered commoners and therefore, in England they have the House of Commons. England has a two part legislature, the other is the House of Lords.

The House of Lords, what an interesting name. The House of Lords includes religious, church leaders. How can a Christian refer to himself as a Lord? What sort of Christian allows themselves to be called Lord? Who creates two legislatures, one for commoners and one for Lords?

Too many of us wish to be Masters and Lords and, well basically, our own God and the God over others. The Queen appoints people as Lords. It does not sound very democratic, sounds pretty totalitarian regardless of the laws they pass.

It is not like George Orwell said, we are not living in a new totalitarian world. Modern people wouldn't do that to each other. Certainly, not in the western, civilized world.

Why are we so ignorant?

I hope this a fair question. Why are Americans so ignorant? Not stupid, ignorant. Stupid has to do with ability, ignorant is a choice. It is the choice not to see what is around us or learn what the truth may be.

Lets look at this another way. How much more of this world would you be aware of if you tried? How much are you capable of being aware of? How often when presenting and argument do you quote an expert rather than the source?

Part of the answer is that some people are incapable of understanding anything, it is a small amount. Truly retarded or mentally disabled are a small fraction of the population. One does not need an IQ of 130 to read the newspaper or retain what is read. That means the vast majority of us are ignorant for other reasons.

Some people have limited or no access to information. Some people live in the depths of the Amazon or Papua New Guinea, the vast majority of us do not. To again ask my question another way, why do so many Americans know as little about the way the world works who are not mentally disabled and have access to news, books and the Internet?

Now some people will complain that they don't have the time. I guarantee that if you spent less than one hour a day reading you would begin to understand the world better. One hour well spent will change your world and I am not talking about your local paper. How many hours a day do you spend playing video games, exercising, watching television?

We are over occupied and call it entertainment or leisure. This is a symptom not the cause of our ignorance. We are ignorant by choice. We choose not to spend the time or choose not to investigate. We want the answers rather than to work through the facts to determine our own answers. We want an expert to tell us so that we don't have to do the work.

Another reason we remain ignorant is because we like to believe that the world is simple that things are the way we have been taught. As we grow older we become biased and begin ignoring things that go against our ego and our own agenda, we only want to know what we need to in order to get what we want, we think we get it all.

The older I get the more I do know that what I know is severely limited in scope and in depth. That has been how people have historically felt; but, not anymore. Now people get older and think they understand everything. They do not even want to consider that the world is not as they believe. Challenge their beliefs with facts and they become indignant, challenge their view of themselves and they become irate.

I began this blog with a question about existence. The only thing we can really know is that we exist, the rest is perceived. That single statement condemns all other beliefs to be conjecture, not fact, conjecture. Science teaches the opposite. It teaches that all we perceive is real and that we are momentary. Up is down and down is up.

Our ability to perceive, even with all the tools and science in the world, is so pitifully limited as to be laughable. We are ants looking at a world and can never understand that we are part of a universe. Do you really believe we understand the universe, do you then believe that we will not learn more about it in the future?

There are people who claim that we are going into the Age of Aquarius, they say we are on the verge of a great "spiritual awakening". If we are, we are unprepared. Most of us don't even know what the Lisbon Treaty is or what the Council on Foreign Relations is, how can we hope to understand more when we don't even understand the basics?

A child being exposed to trigonometry is incapable of understanding it if he does not understand basic math. I often ask very intelligent systems people, "Who owns the internet?" None have answered me correctly. I previously posted about this and it is still on the blog, so I will not repeat it. They don't know because they believe it is not relevant to what they do. It doesn't get them anymore cookies and people only want information that will get them cookies. Relevance.

Relevance is shorthand for, "Will it get me what I want". My response is that all knowledge has value. A philosopher is a lover of knowledge, a scientist is a lover of answers. They lie, scientists do, they tell us that in order for something to be accepted as truth it must be repeatable and then they tell us that the big bang theory is true. Yet, it is not repeatable. I am neither agreeing nor disagreeing with the big bang theory, it is the lie that I question.

Eventually all science and all experts reach the end of their understanding, of understanding things through their single lens. Egyptologists cannot explain why the Sphinx is at least 5,000 years old and predates dynastic egypt (geologists versus egyptologists, experts against each other with no common ground). At some point in time, true understanding requires challenging precepts as our understanding of other things grows. Well, I have to cut this short and snore. Nobody to hear so it doesn't matter. Be well.

Amusing Stories

I think I have posted too much on news for the moment and want to give the reader a chuckle. I have two Las Vegas stories that I think are amusing. They are absolutely true and I hope they bring a smile to your face.

Before my father died, he used to like going to Vegas and I tried to take him there once a month. He would play for hours nonstop. I could only play for a bit and would get bored. As a consequence I would go to the shows. Now here is something that the readers can use. In Vegas the best seats are kept for the high rollers and their wives. Frequently only the wife will take the seat while the husband gambles. That means you can usually get one seat. As my dad did not go to the shows, I usually got one seat up front. The moral is, if you want the best seat in the house, go alone.

One weekend I wanted to see a traditional Las Vegas show, the longest running show was at the Tropicana, it was the Follies Bergere. I bought a ticket and went, front row, far right (stage left for actors, lol). Having been a stage manager I like to sit far to the right or left so that I can see backstage.

Let me tell you about the show. In addition to be the longest running Vegas show, it was a variety show. It was very family friendly except at night when it was topless. The ladies were mostly natural and a little older than on most of the strip as the show had run longer. There was singing and dancing and jugglers (the juggler was very funny) and it was a real variety show. The ladies were lovely, old school Vegas dancers.

On the night I went, a newlywed couple sat across from me. I was in my mid forties, bald, short, glasses, grey, wearing a Hawaiian shirt. The couple was 30 or so. The show began and there was a dancing number, it was ballroom dancing. One of the lady dancers was having a hard day. When the couple dancing turned and stopped, the lady dancer thought nobody could see her as her partner blocked her from the audience; but, I could see her because I was on the far right side. When they stopped she looked at her partner and started complaining about something, I think her feet hurt. She looked to the side and noticed that I had seen her break character. She was embarrassed, I only found it charming, I have worked too many stages.

Now, let me tell you about this showgirl. She was beautiful and tall and graceful and probably in her early 30s. The kind of woman men love to be seen with and in the longest running Vegas show in history. I have no doubt that she was the complete professional, a joy to behold for an old stage manager. You can only imagine how hard the life of a showgirl is, lots of work, hard work, dreadful costumes, high heels and hard dancing, she had amazing legs, dancers do; but, there is a price for it. She probably had a family and was working to provide for them.

Well, this young lady made a mistake, she broke character, that is frowned upon by professionals and she knew I had seen, that is the worst, an audience member caught her. As she complained to her dance partner, she noticed that I had seen everything, she was embarrassed. The show continued and later just the ladies were dancing, all of them topless. At one point, the lady ended up in front of me, she looked over at me and smiled and winked, as if to say, "You caught me". Now comes the best part.

The young newlywed man saw this statuesque, beautiful, amazing showgirl wink at a little old man. He turned and looked at me with most baffled look a guy can have. As if to say, who the heck are you that this showgirl is winking at you during the show. LOL. His confusing and reaction made my night. For the rest of the evening he would turn and make this puzzled face at me, probably assumed I was rich.

My next story is semi-sad. One of my best friends lost his mother. When she died I offered to fly to the east coast and attend the funeral. Instead he asked that I take he and his father to Vegas, to get away. Some time passed and they flew out, I got us a nice hotel and stayed with his father. The first night I was ill. I had bought tickets for some show and we went. It had a former playboy or playmate model, I don't remember which. We had front row seats and I was dying, headache, nauseous, a real mess; but, I wanted his father to see the show so I went. Did I mention front row. Yeah.

There the three of us were sitting and me ready to pass out from being sick and in pain. My friends father had never been to Vegas and this was his first Vegas show. The show began and the playmate was lifter on a chair and put above the audience, she ended up just in front of me, a half naked playmate, she looked down and waved and smiled at me in front of my friends dad. He thought I knew everyone in town. I was just sitting in the right place at the right time. It was great.

I treasure the times I was allowed to take my father and my friend's father to Vegas. I treasure the fact that I was allowed to do something for them. When my father was dying, my friends father, who I had not met in person, was very nice to my father, they worked in the same industry but did not know each other, they had toiled the same ground. I was very blessed that I could have two such men appreciate me and let them know they were appreciated. Real men, old school, tough as nails and quiet until they needed to be firm.

These men paid their dues for their families and did not complain much. They were old school and worthy of my respect. Even in my 50s I still refer to my friends dad as Mr. It is respect. It is earned and happily given. It is not agreement on everything, it is respect for the gifts they have given others. I did not know this was going to be about fathers, I guess it was just on my mind. I miss my father and my mother, greatly.

Sunday Again

It is Sunday and it is Father's Day. I miss my father and appreciate all that he did for me. He was good dad, not perfect, none of us are. Being parent means never being right again. To all the fathers out there, Happy Father's Day, I hope you are appreciated and that you appreciate your father.

If we are selfish we think about what we did not get, if we are loving we remember what we did. It is all a matter of perspective. Nobody can fulfill our expectations completely and we cannot fulfill anyone else's completely. What we focus on is a statement about us.

A dear lady sent me a link to a video of a motivational speaker. He is not like every other motivational speaker. His motto is, "No arms, no legs, no worries". I would like you to watch this short video, it might just make you appreciate what you do have a little bit.

One of my cousins lost his father on his wedding day. It was a horrifyingly sad event. About a year later, he had his first baby. She is a beautiful girl. This year he had his first son, he is equally beautiful. We were so thrilled to have something positive happen in our family, too many deaths and no births in years. I put a picture of the baby on my office door to remember that good does happen.

There is a lady in my office who I have known for 30 years. When she is feeling down she walks by my door to look at the smiling picture of the newborn baby. Now she sees both pictures. I never meant to keep them on my door; but, I cannot them down because I know they brighten her day and I like seeing them too. I am providing a link to a song for people to think about the first time they saw the face of someone they came to love.

A Personal Post on Pension Reform

I work for a governmental entity. I have for over 20 years. During that time I have made and saved hundreds of millions of dollars. I did not come to the government for security, it was my career choice and that is why I took the courses I did in school.

Over the course of my career I have had numerous opportunities to leave the government and make more money in private industry and make more money, I chose to stay. I am well paid and have few complaints about that. When my life came apart I almost left. I almost quit to become a consultant. I had a half million dollars in contracts in under 30 minutes and wasn't trying to get any.

The people who know me, know this to be true, the people who do not probably cannot believe it. It is what it is. Most people that work for government cannot just take a job on the outside and make four times as much. I know this. They stay because of their pensions and benefits.

Part of the reason I stayed was because of my pension. In five years I can begin to draw my pension and retire. Only one problem, half goes to the ex. It would be better for me to leave, make more and start a 401k or invest in stock. I have many options. Best case scenario would be for me to go into consulting and create a new self made pension. I plan on staying for a bit, as long as my health is manageable.

When I went into government, I was told that I would get a specific benefit, a pension calculated and guaranteed. I was told the government would put aside a specific amount each year. I didn't, few did. They made the promises; but, when times were good counted on making large returns on the pension investments. Markets go up and down, the bets failed eventually.

Nationwide government pensions are under scrutiny. Few, very few, governments put the money in the pension funds that they promised and instead turned to riskier and riskier investments. Government pension funds were then also used for political ends. Government Pensions invested in things that the government wanted to achieve, in exchange the government allowed them to do insider trading, constructively.

The Federal government turned a blind eye to all of what was happening as long as the pensions invested in things that the fed wanted to see grow. A problem occurred, a culture of corruption was created. That culture led to graft and bribery. Now we have the outcome, failed government pension systems nationwide.

Because of the underfunding of the pensions, the failure of governments to put in the amount needed at the time, the pensions will fail. If the governments were to make up for what they did not pay at the time, they will be unable to pay their present employees. That is the reality we are facing.

As a consequence of the above, we are now faced with a choice. We can, as a society, not provide the promised payments we made for service done, we can put the burden on future government employees or find a hybrid solution. Doubling taxes to pay for the promises made to government employees, including me, is not a viable solution in this economy.

I have been cheated. I and many others have already given our time, spent our careers in government service in exchange for a promise. That promise is now a lie. I gave up making more, making different choices based on a societal promise. I am being asked to screw future employees or accept that I was cheated and find an alternate situation.

I cannot get back the career options, choices of the past two plus decades, I cannot redo my life. I cannot have married someone different. Government employees are being asked to make the decision about their pensions. They are being asked to condemn the future employees to working 40 years, rather than 30, or insist upon tax increases.

Private company employees are in a similar situation. Social Security is also $1 trillion underfunded. The government did not put the money aside to pay for social security. That means privately employed people are being asked to pay for public pensions or their own. Keep your promises and go without or fail to meet your promises and take care of yourself.

The question is how we solve these problems. It will determine the type of society we create in the future. If we choose to cheat future employees, they will steal you blind, private and public. It is not a solution you will like and future employees will not help retiring ones if that is our societal answer.

ON AVERAGE, people are living longer. That does mean that we will have to change the pension systems because of the actuarial tables. It does not mean that we have to make upcoming employees pay for our pensions. Rather than allowing ourselves to be conquered and divided, what if we all compromised. I will gladly allow the next ten years of my pension to be based on a new formula if it will allow the new employees to only work an extra five years rather than 10+. I will not ask taxpayers, I pay them also, to not have services in order to meet the promises they made to me completely.

Everything I have said applies to Social Security, which I do not recieve but have paid into, and how we will deal with people on the private side. Will you saddle your children with working an extra ten years to get what you were promised?

News of the Day

Previously I had posted about how Putin had shown a new world currency. Here it is. Bloomberg announces that Medvedev shows off new world currency. Hey, maybe he is just kidding. Maybe he is a conspiracy theorist. I mean he is also calling for a New World Order with a one world economic basis and global government.

The move towards globalization is open, it is in your face, it is real and it is now. You can bury your head in the sand or make believe that it is not real; but, in the end you will live under it. If you do not know what the G20 is, it is the meeting of 20 major governments to discuss and set policies for the economy. A link to their website, you should get to know what they are saying.

Fascinating Times

I cannot help myself. Watching the changes in the world is just too fascinating for a Political Scientist. The Chinese have a blessing and a curse that says, "May you live in interesting times". We are living in such times. As a Political Scientist (while I have a doctorate in Law, I have always considered myself a Political Scientist and have a degree in it).

It is like being a physicist and looking at new planets. We live in a time of great risk; but, I cannot help but focus on the possibilities and implications politically. It is just my nature. I am sure that someone who studies spiders, if bit by a violin spider, would be unable to help themselves from observing and studying the effect on his body even when in pain.

Political Science at it's most fundamental is a fascination with understanding how societies manage themselves and attempting to determine what the best form of government is. Aristotle, Plato, Socrates, Rousseau, Locke, Hobbs, St. Thomas Aquinas, Voltaire, Marx, Jefferson, they all come rushing back to me as I watch the world transform around us. I cannot leave out Arnold Toynbee.

I also believe one should read Oswald Spengler. Both Spengler and Toynbee were fascinated by the question of the rise and fall of societies. When I refer to societies, I am not speaking about ethnic groups or nations, we are referring to people working together as a group regardless of the ethnic, religious, gender or other criteria. The group can consist of anyone who works with the group. The issue of the failure of societies has to do with when they stop working together and the society fails.

The question is do all societies fail? That is the issue for all societies. How do we prevent eventual failure? My answer is that we cannot. Nobody ever likes my answers. Failure is an option, it is inevitable because change is not an option. Philosophically, the necessity of failure is hated by most. The eternal struggle between stasis and growth.

The vast majority of people want comfort, stasis, a lack of change or challenge. Change and challenge lead to advancement. Because the majority want predictability and comfort, change agents (outliers, creative people) are held back. If they are effectively held back, no change occurs and societies eventually fail, that is unavoidable. If they are allowed to make too many changes, too soon, society cannot handle it and people refuse to adjust, things fail.

The key to the length of the survival of a society is their ability to deal with change agents, outliers. Both a lack of change and too much change destroy societies. Societies must move forward with some sort of consensus on how much change is acceptable and at what rate. The proper balance allowing for continual change to meet a changing environment is the heart of political science. The proper formula has yet to be found or proven.

The death of societies is always the same. Towards the end, they see that they are losing what they worked for, then they seek to be more restrictive and kill off dissent and difference. The world has changed and societies that had been dominant seek to prevent change. Rather than adjust, they resist and thereby ensure their own end.

We are witnessing the end of a way of life. The end of a civilization, a way of organizing society. Our concept of freedom, privacy, capitalism, religion and family is changing. How we organize ourselves and inter-relate to one another is changing. Western civilization, as we knew it, is undergoing many fundamental changes all at once. Few understand how it is changing; but, most can tell it is happening.

Is this planned by a few or just a natural cycle? Maybe both, it is however inevitable. How will we manage the change and what will we attempt to change into, that remains to be seen.

I Was Wrong - Sort of

Today was quadruple witching hour. It has come and gone with light trading. This is unusual and may be a very bad thing. Today was the day when options and futures for the next three months expired.

Options and Futures are bets on whether or not a stock will go up or down over the next three months. Lets say your pension fund (the largest investors on Wall Street) needs to make 6 to 8 percent per year. They may sell options that say if the stock increases or decreases beyond a certain amount, the person who bought the option takes the risk. It is a sort of insurance policy for institutional investors. If nobody buys the options than the pension has no insurance policy and cannot limit it's risk.

I had thought that the market was going to crash today, it did not, it did nothing and much fewer than normal trading was done. That means that the institutional investors are basically without insurance. So why weren't the options sold?

My best guess has to do with something the Federal Government announced very recently. They stated that if the market became too volatile that they would halt options trading. This makes options a bad investment. Options make the most money and lose the most when volatility is extreme. It is a question of possible return on investment. No point in buying a lottery ticket if the the odds are 1 in a million if my return is limited to $20.

I personally believe options are a bad thing. I understand the insurance value to the institutional investor; but, it turns the market into a casino rather than an investment. It also leads to people intentionally playing the market and stock values not being representative of the underlying value. I am not against what the government has done, per se. Problem is, the system is built around it and to change it without allowing people to change their format for protecting themselves from risk causes greater risk in the short term.

Now comes the real question, how do the pension funds avoid the risk of volatility at a time when greater numbers of people are retiring, how do they pay them? They end up having to sell off stock. Most likely consequence of this is to drive the price of stock down.

Long term, I think regulating stock trading as promoted by Warren Buffet is a great idea. Eliminate options and limit CEO pay. Base CEO pay on profits and not on stock valuations. These changes force CEOs to make companies work rather than making changes just to increase the short term value of the stock. To threaten to halt stock option trading days before quadruple witching hour; however, is wrong as people have not had an opportunity to find other insurance policies.

To understand the long term impact of these changes will take a little time. I believe that down the road, can't say when, you will see more and more stock in companies being owned by the employees themselves through their pensions. Remember 35% of the stock in GM is owned by the employees own pension funds (50% is owned by the Federal Government).

Basically, what is being created is a new form of large corporation. The employees end up controlling the companies and their retirements are only secure if the company runs well. They end up relying on the future employees to make sure that they have a pension. By ending options trading and tying Management pay to profitability it is believed that the employees and managers will care more about the long term health of the company. That is the logic behind these changes.

I do not believe you can call such a thing socialism unless the government owns 50% of the company. It is more along the lines of true communism where the workers own the means of production. Not a Soviet Union style communism (which was not the workers but the government owning everything). You can call it collectivism of a sort.

Lets say you work for GM. Cars are not selling, will you have the union try and get you a raise if it mean it will tank out your pension fund? Probably not. Will you tolerate lazy fellow employees, probably not. Will it increase animosity between employees, possibly. This is untried territory. How will it effect the relationship between management and employees. Remember the Union will be picking the management. Who will they pick and on what criteria? It will be interesting to see.

What will the managers of tomorrow look like and act like? It will take a little time; but, if this trend continues (and I believe it will) people will be more likely to stay at a job and learn to do it well. I am not promoting this change nor arguing against it, just trying to figure out what the impact will be. My fear is that the employees may be harder on each other than the managers ever were.

We are truly entering a brave new world.

MK Ultra and Idiot Professors

One reader recently was giving a presentation in a class on a government project known as MK Ultra. He was given an F because his genius of a professor said that the project did not exist. I like my readers and want them to have the best information available.

This link is to the documents obtained through the Freedom of Information Act FROM YOUR GOVERNMENT regarding MK Ultra. The documents were obtained by a wonderful young man who is excellent at using the FOIA. His website it called "The Black Vault" and I highly recommend it.

When the information came to public awareness two committees investigated it.

The Church Committee Report

The Rockefeller Report

While it is known that many, if not most, of the documentation was destroyed, enough remained to be horrified. 20,000 retarded children living in state homes fed radioactive cereal, citizens exposed to LSD and viruses to see what would happen. Plenty of bad stuff to go around.

Now, I have previously posted on MK Ultra and did not intend to bring it up again; however, I wanted to provide my reader with all the information necessary to shove it up his idiot of a professor's nose. Clearly the professor didn't even take the time to do an online search or read a history book. That is what is considered a teacher today.

How can students learn when the professors are ignorant and biased. His professor, with no investigation, dismissed it as false and a conspiracy theory. Even a simple Google search would have proven the prof wrong. It doesn't take two seconds. Oh, by the way, search MK Ultra and Unibomber together. That should make your head spin. He was a subject of the program.

Anyways, I do not plan on talking about MK Ultra at present, if you missed the previous post you have the source documents above. What I am more interested in was the "teachers" response. No, wait, he didn't teach, he professed a belief. I would rather be a teacher than a professor. I hate trainers, it is so authoritarian.

MK Ultra was a program that was discovered, partially exposed and investigated by congress. One may reasonably argue that no such program existed and that the government faked that one existed to scare our enemies. That is a possible counter-intelligence move; however, one cannot say that the program was made up by conspiracy theorists and just nonsense. That is stupidity. How could you fail a student without investigating, how can professors be so incompetent?

When I was in University, my professors wanted me to become a Professor and teach Political Science. I was taught the old way, the way of academia. This blog is casual and meant to be amusing, informative, thought provoking and casual. My technical writing is not casual and has more footnotes than writing. I have been a University assistant to Professors, I have taught classes and graded papers in the largest private university in the United States. Apparently, we are now hiring illiterates as Professors.

College should be a place where alternate theories are examined and accepted or rejected based on research, not opinion or bias or stupidity. I offer to my reader who was given the F, I offer to go to that class and talk before it. I will have many handouts and provide information to the students on how to use the FOIA. Professors are not supposed to merely repeat the party line, they are supposed to be eternally investigating, researchers not true believers.

Just read the articles

The following articles are all about watching you and me. I have been aware of the first one for awhile now. I spoke to a relative about it, he told me the project had been abandoned because it only worked if everyone was chipped. I cannot comment on that as I do not know, I just know it is being assembled now.

ISIS - The all seeing eye in the sky

ISIS renewed

LEMV - Watching the rest of you.

Now, just in case you don't understand the name choice. ISIS and Osiris were Egyptian Gods and their son was Horus. The eye of Horus is called the all seeing eye. It is the same as Satan in a way. The all seeing eye is part of the mystery school traditions. You can look up the eye of Horus online, go anywhere.

Now, read the articles and look at the language used. They talk about how God would love this and use the terms "unblinking" and "all seeing eye". They do not explain where these terms come from. There is a club and you are not a member. Only members immediately understand. Ask any Mason and he will know immediately what the terms referred to, ask and Satanist, ask any Rosicrucian, ask any Wiccan.

And Princesses

Apparently the Swedish royal family is not amused by a new Barbie. It is the princess Barbie. One of them said, "Royal families have a hard enough time being taken seriously as it is without being turned into dolls. It is undignified." It is just too funny, not taken seriously, undignified. I am sorry, they spend millions on "dignified" weddings while people go hungry in "their" country. Royals are leeches. They no longer rule and still suck the money out of "their" countries under the belief that they are better than the rest of us.

Comments

I appreciate all comments. I enjoy blogging because at least someone hears me. If nobody listened, I would do a diary instead. I need no agreement regarding anything I post, I do however require no cussing. I like the blog to be family friendly.

I have previously admitted to being a terrible cusser, I am. I cuss a lot. I just don't blog with cussing. It it is unnecessary and when one writes, one should take time to choose their words. The emotions should be clearer and not hidden or amplified by cussing.

I will continue with the blog as long as I know somebody, anybody, continues to want to hear my words. The blog continues to be about looking at the world in a way other than we have been trained. It is about looking at events from another perspective and looking at ourselves from another perspective. In the end, it is not and never has been about me. I mention things in my life; but, only to make a point and all I know is my life.

Of Kings and Queens

A recent poll showed that the majority of Canadians no longer wanted to be under the monarchy. Heck, most didn't know how much they were under the monarchy until the Governor General closed their Parliament last year. I want to talk about the concept of royalty.

Kings and queens are referred to as Royalty. They are given privileges based on nothing other than their birth. Your genes or marriage make you special. Kings and Queens have subject, you are subject to their whim. They are allowed to decide how you will live or if you will live.

There was a time when having kings and queens made sense. Countries could not vote and most were ignorant. Nations, as they grew, needed representatives to deal with other nations. Many took advantage of their position. Caligula and Nero are good examples of this. Often, monarchs claimed to have been appointed by God or in the case of some to be of God or be God. The Pharaohs were big on saying they were Gods on earth.

Why would any country with an educated populace and a constitution want to have a King today? It seems sort of unnecessary and elitist. Personally, I cannot see myself bowing to a queen or king unless forced to. If one studies the history of European royalty we find they were inbreds. The result was a high incidence of hemophilia. There is a reason you are not supposed to sleep with your family members.

"Royals" have always referred to the rest of us in such charming ways. We are the "commoners" (That is why the representatives of non-royalty in England are called "The House of Commons"), in private we are referred to as the "great unwashed masses" or other such dismissive phrases. Recently, the head of British Petroleum referred to the people of the gulf coast as the "little people".

The whole idea of royalty is that you have betters, they don't have to even prove it, it is there by birth right. There is a lot of discussion about citizenship and rights, we are looking at who deserves less and who deserves more. When you question others having the same rights as you, you justify others having more rights than you based on birth alone.

Be careful what you wish for, you may get it. We need to step back for a moment. Do we believe in human rights, that can be lost if we violate those of others or do we believe in birth rights? It is not a crime to be born and we do not pick our parents. A child born of illegal aliens committed no crime, being born is not a crime. The baby had no intent to commit a crime, it is a baby.

Recently, I was in a disagreement with a neighbor. He confronted a young man living in my home, he asked him to prove that he had a right to be in his neighborhood. I corrected the neighbor. The neighbor said he was just protecting the neighborhood from outsiders, he said he kept an eye out on the blacks and Mexicans. He was an idiot, still is.

I feel very blessed to have friends who are black, Mexican, gay, straight, white, asian, rich, poor, smart, not quite as smart, bikers, politicians, buisnessmen and women, ones that can cook (my personal favorite) and whatever else you can imagine. People are often surprised by who associate with, they look at me and see a very conservative person in lifestyle. I am.

I know a couple who chose to have an open marriage. I would never choose such a thing, it goes against what I believe for me. They were concerned that I might have a negative opinion of them because they knew of my Christian beliefs (they are also christian). I assured them that I had no such feelings. It is not for me to judge their mutually agreed upon chosen lifestyle. I am not a king or God and do not wish to be either. I am happy to be me, that is hard enough.

I don't have a lot of requirements for others. I ask that people not be violent and respect others. I also ask that they don't steal from me. I expect mistakes, heck I make them, we all do. What I do not respect is asking others to conform to my beliefs or my lifestyle. In exchange, I expect them to not attempt to put the same on me. I am a very fundamental Christian, few of my friends are the same and we seem to get along fairly well.

As a Christian, I believe God made us different for a reason. He made us different from each other. I believe Satan likes conformity, I believe dictators like conformity, it reassures them that they are right and better than the rest of us. When we attempt to force conformity, we become like mini-Satans or mini-dictators. I wish neither job.

There is right and wrong. The evils we commit on one another, the lies we tell, that is evil. There is imperfection, we all have it, the harms we do to ourselves. We can protect ourselves, we should not attempt to control others to make them like us. Or at least that is what I believe.

Loving oneself

Do you love you? Do you love being you? I would honestly say that I do not always love me; but, I always love being me. I know plenty of people who love themselves; but, don't love being themselves. There is a difference. The difference is quite fundamental.

If you don't love yourself; but, love being yourself, you will always seek to improve. If you love yourself; but, don't love being yourself, you will not change and will always love being yourself less.

Love is funny.

Liars and scientists and the media

Recently I read something about it raining fish. This has happened on more than one occasion, actually search it and you will find that it has happened many times. The common answer from the media, scientists and others who haven't investigated is that it is caused by cyclones hitting the ocean. Just a couple of problems.

Often what falls is fresh water fish. You might argue that the fish were taken from a lake; but, nobody has ever witnessed such a thing. If a lake disappears someone is going to notice. The other problem is that whenever it rains fish, they are all the same species. How come no lobsters, or shrimp. No they stay on the bottom. How bout, how come no seaweed? Now that is a better question.

I won't bother posting to any articles. You can search for it. There was a gentleman named Charles Fort, he used to search out such anomalies and then report on them. In the early 1900s he reported on the fish falling from the sky. We still get such reports and more often than one would anticipate. Mr. Fort said they probably just materialized in the sky. I am not convinced by his answer; but, it is better than that of the scientists.

I don't know the answer to fish falling from the sky. Heck, I don't understand electricity running down a wire. I know the answer I have been told, I just don't understand it. It seems like magic. I find, more often than not, that science wants to explain anything it cannot explain. Because they are scientists and have a title, we tend to believe them. Heck, we believed Bernake and Paulson and Greenspan. We like titles.

This is an article on a mystery cloud circle that appeared in Russia. There is even a video of it. The video has been seen by many, many people.

The scientists have an explanation for the cloud holes. It is caused by planes and we just figured this out. I have a couple of questions, not that I distrust Greenspan, I mean scientists. After all they are pure in their talks about global warming. They would not rush to judgement or say what was popular. Hmmm, I may have to modify that statement.

In the story about what the scientists have learned I have a couple of problems. Firstly, the angle of the clouds. Planes do not go straight up into the sky, look again at the Russian cloud. My second problem is that the Russian clouds, and others, are round on the outside and inside. The picture provided by the scientists was not the same.

The issue is not clouds, it is not fish, it is about accepting what you are told as soon as some is deemed an expert. I don't know why sometimes fish fall from the air; but, I do know that a guess by a scientist without looking at the particulars of the actual event is not science. Scientists hate anomalies, it means they don't know everything, they don't. Heck they cannot even explain awareness.

Corruption of the one

There is a lot of discussion about corruption. I myself have discussed the corruption that has destroyed the pension system in the United States. It is easy to point to the corruption of those on top, those who get a lot for their corruption; but, corruption does not start at the top, it starts at the bottom and works it way up.

In Argentina they destroyed their whole country because corruption became acceptable, a way of life. In the end it resulted in Argentina's collapse. This video recites what happened in Argentina. It is twelve parts; but, highly informative and quite prophetic regarding what is happening in America.

Corruption begins in the heart. It begins when we covet things and are willing to lie to ourselves or cheat others to get what we want. One pastor gave a great description of how adultery begins. He said in his decades of talking to couples, adultery always began with something simple, like a lunch, that was hidden from the spouse. It was hidden from the spouse because the person was already fantasizing.

Corruption begins the same way. People "fudge" on their taxes or take a tool from work. Once done, the person begins to justify it. It creeps in because the justification means other thefts are okay. I am the first to say that I have taken more than one pen away from work, I am terrible with pens. I lose them and can never seem to keep them around. Because of this, I refuse to let my work buy me nice pens, I insist on the cheapest pens we have. Fortunately, with computers, I use pens less. The point is, I don't justify taking them. Not that anyone would care if I did. I am salaried and work is 24/7.

My employer bought a really nice laptop for me. It was state of the art, I mean a really nice computer. I wouldn't use it, I gave it to the Systems people. I use my personal computer to do work because I don't want to drag around two computers or use their computer for my personal business. I use my employer's cell phone, it has unlimited calling so it cost them nothing. I used to use my personal cell phone because I made personal calls and business calls. I did not charge for using my personal phone. While, because I am salaried, I am allowed to use my corporate phone, I preferred to use my personal one for both. Now I have to carry two phones.

I am far from perfect, in oh so many ways. I am just a guy. Yet, I try to not allow myself to be corrupted. It is not about being perfect, I am not, it is about catching yourself before you go too far down the slope. I used my employer's fax machine to send something out recently, I did. It may have cost them 40 cents but I doubt it, it doesn't matter. I had to send something quick and I used it. If they want, I will pay the 40 cents. I will not justify it by the fact that my salary was cut 10%, it changes nothing.

I am not so naive as to believe that none of my employees looks at the stock market or Amazon during the day. I know they do. I am more concerned about them getting their work out. I expect deviations from perfection. I am more concerned about moral corruption, when you know what you are doing is over the top. I don't expect people to think only about work for eight hours a day, that would be a living hell. We must accept that people are people. It is when they know what they are doing is wrong that corruption sets in.

Nobody waits till they become president to decide to become corrupt. It is a ladder that one climbs. The one at the top of the ladder is no more corrupt than the one at the bottom and both justify what they do by looking at the other. The guy at the top says that the guy at the bottom would do the same thing and the guy at the bottom says that the guy at the top is doing the same thing. Justification, baloney.

Corruption is not about a dollar amount, it is about a heart and intent. The fight against corruption is a daily thing, it is for life. Sometimes we fail. I am not talking about stealing, I am talking about selling out, about justifying. We think we are better than others because we don't do whatever, pick one, our favorite sin that we do not engage in. It could be homosexuality (not a condemnation of gays, things people look down on more than their own actions) or theft or adultery or love of money or bigotry or whatever, the one we are not driven by, whatever it is. We are all imperfect and sin, have corruption.

We have a tendency to look at the log in the other person's eye to justify what have done or what we have not done. We look at the other person rather than our own failings. There are plenty of shortcomings to go around. It is valid to look at them; but, we must remember our own. Not what the world says is our, what our own heart convicts us about.

For me my worst action was slamming someone's hand in a picture frame when I was 13 or so. I did it just to see what would happen. That was evil. I have made many mistakes since then; but, that one was pure evil. I did it and wasn't angry at the time.

My youngest did some things she should not have in the past. My answer to her was that she could not do wrong by me because all I want is what is best for her. She can only do herself wrong. I think this is how God looks at us. We can only hurt ourselves, we cannot hurt him.

It says that Satan accuses day and night. He does not make things up, we do bad things. We should not ignore corruption. We should applaud repentance; but, what we repent can only be known by our heart, what we knew was morally corrupt, not by some measuring stick that someone else holds. That is rules and not heart, corruption is about the heart. Be well.

Microsoft and clouds

In the not too distant future it is indeed going to be a cloudy day. Microsoft is offering their Office suite on-line for free to individual users, Google does the same; but now Microsoft is in the game. This means that you no longer need to store the program on your computer and it will always be current.

On the other hand, your documents will sit on Microsoft's servers. The government will have access to your personal documents even though you did not send an e-mail. That is the current state of the law. You had darn well better decide what type of things you want to keep private. Consider how casual comments made by someone can be used against them later now.

Try writing a book and storing it on the cloud. Tom Clancy would be at risk. On a lighter note, here is a link to some wonderful music. The composer is long dead and he no longer has a copywrite issue.

The Russians are now creating their own cloud.

You have to hear this

This is a link to a YouTube video. I will not explain it, just watch it for yourself.

What do you hear?

Housing Crash Was Not a Surprise

In 2006 I began saying that a housing crash was coming and I predicted it would be apparent by December 2007. I explained to many people the underlying reasons for this crash and that the inverted yield curve that existed would then take out the stock market. I have said many times that Bernake, Paulson and Greenspan had to know in advance.

Well, here comes a report about another country's central bank being aware in advance and hiding the information. Central Bank Fraud. Now for your amusement go to YouTube and search for Peter Schiff and Ben Stein. Watch the video and be amused. Mr. Schiff saw it coming and was ridiculed for suggesting such a thing.

Of Healthcare and Control

The link I am providing is to the White House. Their words not mine.

Healthy living and you

Basically the government has set up a healthcare plan for all Americans. In order to keep costs down we will be expected to live healthy. They will help you to be healthier and if you refuse to do what big daddy says is best for you, either you will be denied healthcare or be expected to pay more. Screw em. Keep your frickin health care.
