Africa, the Middle East and being a partner

I have been busy and busy. Frantic drives back and forth to the high desert. I haven't even finished unloading my car. It was strange to see my house empty, it was strange to see the end so close. It happened so quick, life does that sometimes.

Every now and then I write about the purpose of life and the importance of relationships, sometimes they don't work out. You cannot make another person love you or even like you. You cannot make them have integrity or follow their vows or contracts, doesn't matter if the relationship is love or business.

People used to make more effort in their relationships. In business and in personal life I see little if any concern for relationships. I have a pretty good reputation in business and it makes a differance. Trust in business is rare anymore. On more than one occassion I have had people who did me wrong come to me and ask for my help, how many people can say that, how many have earned that respect, not many.

We have built a world around selfishness and self-interest, we revere "Looking out for number one". "They" say that we cannot love someone unless we love ourselves and that we cannot help others unless we take care of ourselves first, this is garbage. We hear phrases about how we "deserve" the best, nonsense. Too many look down on the homeless or the out of work. With a 20% unemployment rate (the real rate) everyone cannot get a job because there are not jobs out there for everyone.

There is revolution in the air all over Africa and the Middle East. There is even talk of revolution in China. We are seeing traditional governments uprooted in Europe. People in the United States are even talking about revolution. This is not a good thing. In Libya, the unheard of is happening, people are taking to the streets and their leadership is saying that they will kill everyone rather than lose power. That is madness. Neither the governments nor the citizens are any longer looking to work together.

I am sorry, you can hate President Obama and his policies; but, he was legally elected, I don't care if you think he isn't an American, he is. If he wasn't it still wouldn't matter. It is ridiculous to argue that children born here are not citizens and that they are Mexican because their parents were here illegally and then turn around and complain that Obama, whose mother was a US citizen, is not an American.

Personally, I don't like Obama's policies; but, he is our president. There have been many presidents I did not like; but, I respected their position. I can see a day when congress will pass laws and the citizens will have to approve them by a simple majority oever the internet. Gridlock results.

How do you repair a relationship once it is broken? Arnold Toynbee (the greatest of all historians) said that societies fail when they can no longer effectively deal with their challenges. It occurs when people stop trying to work together, I think we are just about there.

In Libya, the government is saying that it doesn't want to work with the people, in the United States and Europe people are saying they don't wish to work with their governments anymore. Where is compromise, there is none when people are only looking out for themselves. Rome is a great example, they survived bad leaders; but, could not survive when they collapsed from within because people only looked out for themselves.

Perhaps it is best to ask how societies start. They begin when people come together because they recognize that we have common needs and that it is easier to meet all of our needs by working together. If the society then rewards based on a basis of worth and effort it will flourish. Babies are the most selfish thing in the universe, they have to be taught empathy and team work. They have to be taught that others matter.

I am okay because I have good friends. It is one of the reasons why I don't just chuck it all and leave. I still care about my City, so I keep my job for the moment. I believe we can work together, I just don't see too many willing to stop chasing the darn cookies and try. Maybe that is what the Devil accuses us of day and night.

I believe we can change governments and nothing will improve. I believe we can vote on things directly and nothing will improve. I believe you can have all the prosperity in the world and not be successful. The Unibomber wrote a "manifesto", some in the tech field have quoted him. He was a Harvard graduate and one of the finest mathmaticians in the world. He believed we would allow technology to become our reality and that it would dehumanize us. He talked about what he believed to be a basic human need, the need to feel achievement.

Ted Kazynski believed that people needed to feel some sense of achievement and that if they could not do it in a meaningful way (ways that improved people's lives) then they could find it in sports or other things. He would be horrified by the virtual lives that people are living now. People go home to find their achievement in video games or on facebook. It is a purely subjective achievement.

Tomorrow is President's day, a day on which we recognize the people who have led our country, the United States. I will say a prayer for President Obama, not because I agree with him, because he has the worst job in the world and everybody can use a prayer. There are two things that have never hurt me, a prayer for me and a hug. Be well. Heard some bad news

Sorry guys, no big post tonight unless my mind completely wanders. My best female friend had a tragedy in her life. A young relative died in a freak accident. Freak accidents suck. It tripped my friend out and that is understandable. She is a strong woman; but, some stuff is very heavy. She will overcome.

We have lost one of the special ones, her relative was quite unique and brilliant. Special. One of my best male friends lost a son, that was heart wrenching. Sons should not die before fathers, that is how we all feel. I do not know for a fact, I only know what I feel. The older we get, the harder it is to watch the younger ones go. We would prefer to go first and not out of selfishness, there is so much more that we can do and the young don't get the chance to prove themselves.

That is how it feels, it may not be how it is. Perhaps they get it sooner and don't have to stick around; but, how can you tell that to a parent? There was a time that I was convinced that one of my children would die before I did. I prepared myself for it because I had to. It was shear hell and it almost came true a couple of times. As we age we have to accept that it does occur sometimes, I hate that; but, it is what it is.

I knew a woman, she hated God, she believed in him; but, hated him. She hated him because a young child had died and she said she couldn't love a God that took young children. I feel the opposite, this place ain't that great. Maybe only the good do die young. Hey, if there is nothing after this life than there is no God. If there is something after this life then it is probably a better place. We are all just doing time on planet earth and I believe it is so we can better understand our decision making, define ourselves.

Now, if there is life after this life than we are here for a reason. That is why I am completely against suicide. It is a philosophical issue. The apostle Paul spoke well, he wished to leave this place; but, he said his job was to give it all up till the end. He was an amazing guy. Sometimes I wonder about the people in the bible, how their lives seemed to them. If you have read any of the apostles you should wonder how they saw their lives, not like we do. They got up, hit the restroom, ate, went out to get abuse, came home, ate, talked about their day and went to bed. Peter got nailed to a cross and had it turned upside down, that doesn't sound fun.

Imagine Noah's life. What a joke that was. God talks to him one day (like that is easy) and he tells Noah to build a big boat. Wait, it gets better, then he tells Noah that he is going to kill everyone on the earth. I bet Noah was a pretty chipper guy, how do you take what he was told. Yeah, everyone is gonna die but you? You think he was happy, I doubt it.

After everyone died, Noah got hammered. I mean the guy got piss drunk and passed out. His sons found him and one of them laughed at him, the others covered him. Why did Noah get piss drunk? Nobody ever asks these questions. Noah knew God and got sloppy drunk and God loved him. Why? Because God knew how challenged Noah had been and knew that Noah needed a break. If you never had it good, God will give you a break. The break was small for Noah, everyone was dead except the small remnant. He knew it was coming and had to watch it, knowing what it meant. That sounds heavy.

I drove down the street. It was dark, that happens when it is 11:00 at night, it gets dark. The street lights illuminated the road like so many pearls on a string. I followed the lights even more than the lines on the road. The lights knew the way. I traveled till I got to where we were to meet. I like that, sort of Raymond Chandleresque. Be well.

What is currency?

A couple of interesting news articles out there. Firstly, China is building a very large building to hold it's precious minerals in, why not just leave them in the ground until needed? And at the same time the United States has just discovered that it has more oil reserves than Saudi Arabia. This one is good, we have just learned that we can drill straight down to recover the oil, huh?

Two currency things going on. The IMF is recommending that we use a conglomerated currency as the world's reserve currency and the stock markets are about to be consolidated.

Here is what I see. We are going to consolidate international trading currencies and currencies will be resource based. In other words the value of your money will be based on the value of your mineral and other resources. It is like going to the gold based currency; but, includes all of your tangible resources. This means that if you don't pay your foreign debt you will need to give them your natural resources. In order for that to work countries will begin to nationalize ownership of the minerals or at least control their use.

From an economic standpoint this makes partial sense. Currencies based on promises can have high inflationary points. Currencies based on minerals become very restricted. It leads countries to over mine minerals and store resources. I will attempt to keep an eye on these issues for the readers and provide more links. Cause I Said So

LMAO. Just joking. I have nothing to post tonight. I was having dinner with a friend, he read my last post, I had thought of him while I wrote it and in a good way. He knew that. Relationships, real ones are very good for us. To have a good relationship with your parents and siblings helps to have better relationships with our partners.

Beyond family, we benefit from having people who are good examples, we benefit from mentors and we benefit from partners and students. Each relationship is a gift. I went to a restaurant with my friend today, I had never been there before. It has been around 51 years, the owner and I joked. He even played a trick on me. It is called Paty's and is in Toluca Lake. I found a new friend, we hit off and I said I would come back. That is the relationship I want with every vendor I use, a friendship and a trust. Every relationship CAN have that, you just have to be picky.

What do you want to fill your life with? Do you pick stores because of the cookies they hold or because of the relationship you have with the people there. I pay more to have more, a relationship. I advise others to do the same, it is our days, it is our lives.

I am not ready to get into the whole Egypt thing yet, at least not in writing. I am not ready to talk about all of the volcanoes going off at the same time, at least not yet. I am not even ready to talk about all of the crazy quantum physics stuff just yet. I may talk about love, I may talk about relationships or I may talk about what comes next. Then again, I haven't destroyed this blog in a long time and it may be night night time for this part. I can't wait to find out. Be well.

A Question About Relationships

I read this article today, I didn't care much for it. There is a website called "Save the Males" and sometimes it has something worth reading regarding how we, as a society, are attempting to stop men from doing manly things. I came across it and others like it because I did not like how boys were being given Ridalin at such an alarming rate. The guy is an anti-semite, in my opinion, and a lot of what he says I do not agree with. This article I did not like.

He wrote an article titled "Dumping my dream girl". I am providing a link; but, as I have already said, don't like the position he takes. He starts by talking about how he had a dream about how the girl of his dreams dumped him and he was okay with it. He then talked about a woman who called him repulsive and he chose to live with her for five year.

His conclusion was that men are brainwashed into believing that sex and love are the most important thing in the world. He then says that women are to be help mates, not soul mates. He finishes by talking about what a supporter of marriage and family he is. Sorry guys, I got a problem with everything he said.

I look around and see how popular his beliefs are and it disgusts me. I think we should break this down. We are self aware sentient beings, you have heard me say that before. We live and we die, we have the opportunity to learn from each other, help each other and share with each other. That is the greatest joy of all. When you die you don't think about the toys you had, the certificates, the sex, the cars, you think about the relationships you had and your loved ones.

I have gay friends, when I first meet them they often ask if I as a Christian believe homosexuality is a sin, I always say yes and than list out all the sins I commit, like lust (my personal favorite). I explain that there is no priority list of sins, sin is anything that falls short of perfection. They then ask why I believe homosexuality is a sin and I say because it is not perfection of union. And as I have said before, I don't care if the "government" allows gay marriage, it is just a contract, we should be allowed to make the agreements we wish. I may seem to be contradicting myself; but, I am not. I would not outlaw all sin and I don't know how to outlaw lust.

I believe we were made man and woman and I know how reproduction works, it is our genetic makeup. There are gay animals, they are not the ones continuing the gene pool. I don't want to know what people do in their bed unless someone is being forced or incapable of understanding what is occurring. There is a lot of nasty stuff heterosexuals do in bed that I simply don't want to know or see. I don't limit it to the nasty stuff, I don't want to know how you make love even if you are straight. I just don't want to know.

I don't care if people come out of the closet, stay in the closet, build a closet or even dress up like a closet. I don't care and it is not necessary to tell me. I won't ask. If you tell me I may ask why you like whatever you like. I don't understand foot fetishes, I have tried and still don't get it. If someone told me they had one, I wouldn't ask what they do with the foot, I would ask why it fascinated them (and I do want to know so leave comments if you have a foot fetish).

I didn't want to talk about the gay thing again; but, I had to get it out in the open to move on to what I did want to talk about, that special relationship we can have with the opposite sex and why it is the most important thing in the world. My ex was capable of doing some nice things, she wasn't all bad until the end. She was selfish and had found a new cookie and didn't care what it cost to get the new shiny cookie, that is when people are at their worst. That does not happen when we are with partners.

People talk about finding their soul mate, I don't like the term it is still just about sex and fun. I believe we have soul partners, the person who can work with us better than anyone else and every moment is a joy, win, lose or draw. I have seen that, my sister has that, she says they each married their best friend. I like that. True friends with benefits, the friendship is more important.

My best female friend in the world thrills me everytime we get together. We are perfect business partners and she is lovely. We both got cheated on at the same time and made each other laugh, she is part of my heart. We have gone out together, yet, never on a date. We love each other; but, know that we are not meant to be a couple. Not every woman you like is meant to be your life partner.

The article assumes that there are opposite sexes so that we can have sex, he gets it all wrong. It is not about sex, it is about relationship. Women don't think like men and men don't think like women and that doesn't change just because you have a sex change operation, it is not about body parts. Now here is the truth, women who want to become men and men who want to become women DON'T want to think like the sex they wish to become. They are instead focused on the body parts, none go to therapists asking to think like the sex they wish to become. Think about it.

Transgenders are a rejection of either the sex they are. It is usually because of rejection and abuse, they are turned away from being like their father is what I have most often heard. I know more gay men than lesbians, though I have known them also. Most homosexuals do not wish to be transgendered, that is a big leap, to reject your own body, to reject being your nature and that is the point.

Our nature is to be a man and a woman. Our sheeple choice is to be any man and woman, to look at the body and the sex rather than the soul and the ability to have a healthy relationship. I guess that brings us to what can be special between a man and a woman.

Imagine men and women at their best, we can be that with each other. Men can be good providers and learn to manage their emotions. Women can be good partners and learn to manage their emotions. Two adults, male and female created the families and institutions that allowed the world to grow. IT IS ABOUT THE FAMILY UNIT, that is the best we can be. Don't look to failed relationships, look to the best relationships if you want to know what we can have and then ask why they worked, why are we attempting to deal with failure rather than duplicate success.

When talking about relationships why are we as a society so focused on SEX. Yeah, I have had it and it is nice, I actually rather enjoy it. That is not a relationship. It is an action that can be part of a relationship; but, to be successful the other parts must be there first. How bout trust, would you sleep with someone you did not trust? People do. How bout understanding, try having a relationship with someone who doesn't understand what you think.

You build a relationship around everything other than sex and then sex becomes a benefit, a real benefit, a joyous experience that you share with the person who is your partner, the most important relationship in you life. It is not a responsibility, it is in your soul, it is your being.

I will not believe that we do not have soul partners, I cannot. I question what we need to do to be ready to be with them. In order to be partners, both parties should have advanced in certain areas so that they can become whole and compliment each other. The best relationships, the one's we should attempt to emulate, were based on true affection and providing strength and understanding to each other, holding up each other, sharing failure and celebrating success as a couple, as one.

The author of the article I linked to does not believe in love, I doubt he even understands what it is or what the best type of relationship can do for you, how it can change the world. He wasn't ready for a good relationship and didn't seek one, he sought a hot looking woman who would serve him, he is a jerk.

My business partner, my female best friend. She is the owner of the company and I refuse to sign any papers with her, yet, I am a partner. I correct her and sometimes often in one conversation, I taught her business. She, on the other hand, knew how to organize things by tiny details so that I could process the information. She is brilliant and we are one very dangerous team. I love her with all my heart, sex could only screw that up. That is a great relationship and great partner; but, not a soul partner. We were not right for sex, the least important part; but, the part that proves the couple. You can have good sex with the wrong person; but, you can only have perfect sex with the right partner because it isn't about the sex, it is about pleasing your soul partner.

The worst I have ever been treated was for asking people that if they found their soul mate and their soul mate said that they wanted to wait until they were married to have sex then would they be celibate until then, to be with their soul mate. The answer was a resounding and obscene "NO". They did not wish to accept that they might have a soul mate worth waiting for. That is sad, I made that mistake too. Wait. A bad relationship is worse than none.

People ask me if I will get married again. I say I may or I may not; but, I will not marry anyone who is not my soul partner, my last and only love. I stopped dating for a reason, I believe in love, not in test driving everything you see. I finally believe that love can be unlike anything else, I have not given up on love, now I believe in it because I have seen less.

It is easy to be ready for sex, it is hard to be ready for love. Ask yourself what it takes, I will give my answer, actually I think I did. Misunderstanding is the beginning of every relationship that works. It is when we don't quite understand how the other person can even exist, it is the shock we feel when we know they are too perfect to be real, that they compliment us completely and that we can still grow together, you only get one. If you are never going to be ready than you never get to meet them and certainly never get to be with them, that would violate the rules of eternity.

Valentine's day is coming up, I hope you are with your soul partner, if you are not then I hope that someday you are. Valentine's Day is not about celebrating the female in the relationship, it is about celebrating the relationship, if you do not feel it is a relationship, don't celebrate it. If you do feel it is a relationship then celebrate it. You will know the difference, if it is a relationship then your woman will celebrate it rather than try and figure out what you gave her.
