Pakistan

As I have said before, I do not watch television. I have been reading about what is going on in Pakistan. 20 million people left homeless, 20 million. The number is staggering, it makes Katrina look like a pool party by comparison. If we consider how bad Katrina was and how even our country has not been able to completely bring back New Orleans, how long will it take to even remotely fix Pakistan?

Now, it is being reported that there is a cholera outbreak. We cannot begin to estimate how many people are going to die from this horrible event. The largest natural disaster is reported to be the Haiti earthquake with 250,000 people dying. This could dwarf Haiti. Let us pray for the people there.

I know there are many who are so anti-Muslim that they will be glad about this, some are posting on the news sites. I wish to remind people that most Pakistanis are just like anyone else, just trying to get by and have a comfortable life, watch their kids grow up, get married and have children. Perhaps we can mend some fences by making helping them a higher priority.
