I was looking at the stats, almost 40,000 hits to this site, no advertisements, nothing flashy, very few pictures and only one other blogger ever pushed people in my direction, thanks Zuma, maybe someday we will meet. The blog has been up since 2007; but, I have also deleted everything twice and almost a third time.
The Pimpernel has a couple of medical conditions that I must address soon. Nothing substantial. I have hid from my doctors for the past five years except my ex-therapist. I liked him and he never poked me with needles. LOL. I cannot believe how many posts I have made, I cannot believe the people who have commented or followed this blog or all the amazing ways in which just being ourselves can effect others.
I am considering changing the format of the blog a bit. I am considering turning this into a place where I post articles from different parts of the country and world that were not picked up by the mainstream media. It is an idea I had a long time ago. There used to be a news show that played late at night in the US that was sort of a summary of stories from around the nation. I was thinking that posting links to foreign nations take on news from the US might be interesting. The story may be the same; but, seeing how much everyone agrees or disagrees might be informative. It is just something I am considering.
I am also considering making a movie (YouTube documentary). It would be about peoples perspective on why they don't or didn't go to church. It would be for Christians, so that they understand what they do that keeps people from considering Christianity. I am still working the concept out; but, I have a friend who made some shorts for college that has indicated he would be willing to assist. Heck, I might even do it as a kickstarter project. I just don't know how much I would need. At most I am figuring a couple thousand. I don't know what I would give to contributors, maybe send them a cookie? Another thought in process; but, I did speak to the lead pastor and he thought it might be worthwhile. If I do, it will obviously be dedicated to Pastor Daniels who kept me preaching even when only when one other person showed up. Maybe I couldn't tell anyone that because it might identify me. Lets see if I bother making it first.
Still be alive has been confusing to me. I have wondered why I am still here and what I should do with my time. I am thinking that I have made a mistake. I have wondering what I should do as I approach retirement rather than what I like to do. I like writing and I like film. I have always loved those things and unlike gymnastics, chess or art, can still do them. I did what I thought I should do with my life because I believed it was my highest calling; but, I gave up my passion, I gave up artistic expression. I didn't understand how much I missed art until I began this blog. I will never be able to draw again, my arthritis prevents that; but, I can still write.
My lead pastor and one of our elders has consistently said that I know what I am supposed to be doing. They are wrong and right. I don't know what my calling is; but, I do know my passion and my passion is for explaining to others things that they may have missed and I believe I do it best in writing. I may not be a great writer; but, I am a writer and have a couple thousand posts on this blog and more on other sites that say there are people who want to hear my voice. Now to the news.
The Guardian - How capitalism's great relocation pauperised America's 'middle class'. A pretty good article about how capitalism has worked out and destroyed the United States at the same time. Right now we are protecting the poppy fields in Afghanistan, that is capitalism. Protecting people so that they can sell Heroin in the United States. The United States was built partially on slavery, that was also capitalism. I believe in managed markets and economies, I think there should be laws and limits. I think everyone should have a chance and extremism calling itself capitalism does not. I think we should succeed based on our efforts not on our luck or ability to cheat others.
Mail Online - Toddler buys rundown Austin Healey Sprite on eBay after playing with her father's smartphone ... and her parents decide to keep it. This particular story was published worldwide. A little kid playing with his father's smartphone managed to accidentally buy a car. To my regular readers, can you figure out how this will be used? It is not hard if you follow my posts. This is why your phone will need to recognize you and others who might use your phones. Leading the sheep to the answer we want them to ask for, personal identification for all financial transactions.
The Independent - Exclusive: Mice with human chromosomes - the genetic breakthrough that could revolutionise medicine. Isn't this fantastic (extreme sarcasm), combining human and animal DNA might save us all. I guess they don't understand how it can also cause disease to jump from one species to another. Here is a line from the article, "However, researchers in the US and Japan are already well advanced in making “mini” human chromosomes called HACs (human artificial chromosomes), by either paring down an existing human chromosome or making them “de novo” in the lab from smaller chemical building blocks."
Hope you enjoy the nights reading. Comments and thoughts are always welcome.

Mr. Snowden, Bradley Manning and the Intelligence Corps
Let me start by saying that I am on a watch list according to the FBI or none of my family or I ever existed. Let me also say that on occasion I have intentionally messed with the FBI. I also have a friend that is retired FBI whom I greatly admire and like. Since Mr. Snowden came out, there has been a lot of information on what the NSA and others are doing, I would like to give my opinion on the matter.
Lets start with the law. The NSA has not broken the law from what I can tell. Let me explain what they have been accused of and their justification, we don't have to agree with it; but, we should understand it. The law says that the NSA can collect intelligence on basically all foreign governments and people. The same is true for most countries, their laws do not prohibit them from collecting information on other countries. Everybody in intelligence understands this. The prohibition is on collecting information on your own citizens.
Now, you may recall that Russia had warned the United States about the Boston bombers. Why do you think they did that and then refused to accept Snowden for asylum? We trade information, they collect it on us and we collect it on them. That is how the game works. Any European nation claiming to be shocked by this is flat out lying to their own people.
Secondly, no communications that go over the air (cell phones, radio) nor the internet is protected speech and has never been considered such by the courts. I have consistently said that if you want protected speech you need to use the U.S. Postal Service or land lines and if you call a cell phone from a land line, it is not protected.
Lets now ask ourselves some simple questions. If any 16 year old hacker can get into your e-mail or cell phone, why would you want the government to be unable to access the same information? There are people out there that are freaked out by the Bildergerers, the G8, G20, Trilateral Commission and the Council on Foreign Relations. I have a problem with those groups; but, my problem is one of legality. The lack of transparency or say by our citizens bothers me; but, not that they meet. That may seem odd to some of my readers; but, I stopped be naive at 12 when they first began tapping our families phone. I knew what was going on because my father told me. Somehow knowing that the internet is tracked doesn't stop me from saying exactly what I think and it shouldn't stop others.
Now let me go back to the Boston bombings. Was it right for the Russians to monitor their own people and when they discovered some people were going to commit acts of terrorism for them to notify us of such? If we had evidence that people in England were going to bomb them, should we not tell the English intelligence agencies? It would be wrong of us not to share the information in my opinion. This is the reality of modern communications.
General Petraeus was taken down by people within the intelligence community for not following the rules, in my humble opinion. He let intelligence assets die in Libya when they did not need to and paid the price. Good, he needed to go. We do not need our civilian intelligence agencies run by the military nor is it appropriate. Imagine having military people running the local police, that is martial law, real martial law. I wrote recently about how the military has issued rules that say they can come into local municipalities without permission and take on activities. That is wrong.
What you are seeing is a contest between the military and civilian intelligence over what happens in the event of civil disturbance and you had all better pray that the intelligence people win because they follow rules that protect our citizens. They have to, they are not military, they are sworn civilians. The military is a blunt instrument whereas the intelligence agencies are more discerning. "Kill them all and let God sort them out" is a military approach, it is not the sort of thing any self respecting intelligence officer would ever do.
You may recall that I wrote about how the military tried to start their own CIA and was stopped with their agents being put under the CIA, that is how it should be, not the other way around. In the past the CIA and others have been involved in things they should not have, such as MK Ultra; but, compare that to what the military has done in Iraq and Afghanistan and you might begin to see some differences.
Now here is the good part. Do you really believe that the NSA, CIA and FBI have not been keeping tabs on what happens at the Bohemian Grove or the Bilderberg meetings, of course they do. Do you really believe that all the evidence of corruption going on in the financial system was not noticed by the intelligence agencies, my guess is that they are the one who have been releasing the information or at least enough for others to follow up on it.
Here is the bottom line, the military reports to the President. The civilian intelligence agencies do; but, don't have to do what he says and can even arrest him. If the President ordered the military to attack citizens, the federal law enforcement officials could arrest him. It would in fact be the United States Marshall Service, the only constitutionally created law enforcement agency. If the military arrested the president, it would be a military coup.
If everyone in congress was bought and paid for, if everyone in congress was a crook and was selling us down the river. Who would you want to stop them, the military or the federal law enforcement operatives? The elimination of the Posse Comitatus Act was disgusting in my opinion; but, not unconstitutional, it is not part of the constitution. The congress could not however authorize the military to take actions within states without local approval, that violates the constitution. The only time the military could operate within the nation was when their was a civil war, a war between state militias if you will. Civil disturbance and civil war are different. If California attacked Nevada, the military could step in to protect a state.
Please don't let emotional responses to finding out that everything is monitored cause you to lose track of our priorities and options because having privacy on the internet or over the airwaves is not an option. Having the military supersede local authority is a bad option.
So how did this all come up. Well, a couple of days ago some students at a college took some NSA recruiters to task, I didn't bother posting on it and then one of my children sent me a link to the audio of the exchange. I listened to it and will post a link at the end of this post. The YouTube went international and people are cheering for the students. Here is what they missed, imagine asking an army recruiter about things done by the generals, they would be no better off than the NSA recruiters. LOL, do you really believe the best in the NSA are sent from college to college, to be filmed, watched, talked to and recorded? They are sent because they are better at talking to college students then in collecting and analyzing information. You don't send James Bond to recruit at some college, it doesn't work that way.

I am going to try and answer their questions and I want you to consider my answers.
1. Do you (the NSA) consider Germany and the other countries that we spied upon to be adversaries? The correct answer is that they are potential adversaries including England. The truth is that we have contingency plans for dealing with any foreign country that might take actions that were contrary to the interests of the United States. Which country do you not want us to keep an eye on would be my question.
2. The lady then asks whether or not we consider everyone an adversary. She didn't understand the answer. An adversary is one who has interest that may conflict with those of the United States and our sovereignty. Someone who wanted to eliminate our sovereignty is "our" adversary. Someone wishing to change our government through voting is not our adversary.
3. The young lady responds to the NSA referring to congress as their "customers" and says she finds that strange. She just doesn't understand modern governmental approach. For the past 20 years there have been efforts made to train government to be more like business and look at the people they serve as customers. Government Executive Magazine explains this, pick an issue of it.
4. The lady asks what qualifications you need to become a whistle-blower "because that sounds like a more interesting job". I shall give my answer, you need to be a liar if you violate your clearance. I have a woman that works with me, she knows things about the place she used to work and when she came to work for me, I promised her something. I promised her I would never ask her to give up things she learned in confidence from her prior employer even if it would benefit my organization and I have never asked her to do so. I also asked her to never give up anything she learned in confidence about our organization to another. That is what it means to be part of the decision making of any organization.
A few years ago I became aware of a mistake that my organization made, it wasn't intentional, it was stupid. I attempted to correct it; but, had no authority to. An auditor caught the mistake and I told him that I thought he got it right. In certain jobs we have certain confidences and responsibilities, in certain jobs it is our job to try and convince our organizations to correct their mistakes; but, what is given in confidence must be kept within the realm of responsibility. Never lie if asked legally; but, give your organization a chance to self-correct.
5. The NSA agent tries to explain that they take the information to policy makers very seriously and try and give the appropriate context so that better decisions can be made because we all have to live with the congresses decisions. Yep, that would be about right. What would the young lady like the NSA to hide from our elected officials?
6. The students then ask the NSA agents how they feel about General Alexander lying to congress. Well, go back and read what I wrote, they shouldn't be under the military and the military lies.
7. The young lady claims that we cannot opt out of being under surveillance. She is not quite accurate. They don't have the resources not the concern to read every e-mail, that is simply foolish and naive. They look for very specific things and will continue to, same as foreign governments will continue to monitor everything that is posted on the internet in the United States. There is no opting out from China watching you.
I ask my readers to look beyond the obvious, I ask them to consider what the options are in given situations. I ask them to analyze the world around them and not just have emotional reactions to things that surprise them, it is not for everyone to understand how the world works. It is not always pretty and sunshine and simple, it is about balancing interests and trying to find where the right balance is.
I am on a Watch List, I have no knowledge of why and don't worry about it. We are all watched, just some more than others. We are watched for more reasons that you comprehend and I would not give those away and I don't know them all. I am not a member of any of those organizations by choice.
Lets start with the law. The NSA has not broken the law from what I can tell. Let me explain what they have been accused of and their justification, we don't have to agree with it; but, we should understand it. The Future and Patience
We live in a society that wants immediate gratification and that expects to see immediate change. It makes it very simple to manipulate them as they do not look into the distance and many things develop overtime. It is also a society where some changes happen in seconds, the stock market can do that. Because of computer trading, we sometimes see what is called a "Flash Crash"; but, these are merely what I refer to as temporary volatility moments, after them the market usually resets. What is much more important are the long term trends. I want to try to put this into perspective and give some current news stories.
The Independent - Watch out for the hot flushes (a few billion years away): Earth enters its mid-life crisis. Now whether you believe in God, we all agree that one day this world will end. The article says the earth has about 4.5 billion years left.
The Los Angeles Times - Banks pushing for repeal of credit unions' federal tax exemption. I don't think they understand how little respect people have for banks at the moment. After having received hundreds of billions in bailouts, they want to destroy credit unions.
The Guardian - IVF baby born using revolutionary genetic-screening process. Picking the perfect baby will be a choice in the future, actually, you can do it now and two families have. What is the long term impact of this. We won't see it for a decade or so; but, it will have an effect. They can screen out somewhere around 250,000 different genetic "defects". Imagine a world where 250,000 different varieties of humans living today will no longer walk amongst us. That lack of variation will mean that we become more susceptible to extinction.
Wall Street Cheat Sheet - Will Bernanke Acknowledge These Risks with Big Banks?. Here is a line from the article, "“Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan and Morgan Stanley are no longer just banks — they have effectively become oil companies, port airport operators, commodities dealers and electric utilities as well,” reads the letter sent in late June to the Fed chairman. ‘‘Such a dramatic intertwining of the industrial economy and supply chain with the financial system creates systemic risk.” Calling the big banks “sprawling global entities,” the lawmakers wondered whether the Fed was investigating the damage the current system could cause." See that word, "systematic risk", whenever you see that you need to read the whole article.
Yahoo - Reuters - Government to assign email addresses to all Iranians. Look here, how interesting, everyone getting a personal e-mail address for life. Watch it, it is coming to all nations.
The Telegraph - EU plots transatlantic bank regulator. Again, more infrastructure being put in place to reduce national sovereignty and increase international regulation. It will not happen in a day; but, it is coming and the rules have already been written. It may just take sometime for the systems to be finalized.

I Got Kicked Off a Website Again
I was a contributor to a website. I got kicked off because I caught them doing something naughty naughty. LOL. I was kicked off one before because I did something naughty, I was rude. This one kicked me off because I caught them doing something. My daddy was very smart and in law enforcement. He taught me something. He taught me about Modus operandi. He told me that people will keep doing what works until they get caught and that eventually, they all get caught. LOL.
Now let me explain how social websites work. Hmmmm. This could be fun. Social media websites are run by real people. It takes a lot of time and a lot of effort. Usually Moderators are not paid and they have to commit to monitoring for hours a day. They are dedicated and must be moderate in emotion or the site will fail. The moderators and owners know your IP address and have access to everything that you ever post including internal correspondences using their site. They have the ability to edit every post and every correspondence; but, do not do such things because then everyone would know as some of us also interact in the real world.
Lets talk about Tiger Woods for a second. You see, sometimes forget that I am an analyst and not just a blogger. Tiger Woods used to go to Las Vegas to have sex. He would have 20+ $2,000 a night hookers in his room and pick who he wanted for the night; but, they all had to be paid. This was done on casino owned properties. After doing this for years, one day, suddenly one of them gave him up to the newspapers. A week later another gave him up and then a week later a third. That is what led to his divorce and someone told his wife before it made the papers. Hmmmm.
Who gave up Tiger Woods and why did they do it? It cost a lot of money, he lost a couple hundred million in the divorce. The casino had to allow it to happen, why would they do that? Something with that whole story just never fit. Now back to the website that I just got kicked off of. I made a post, nothing spectacular and actually quite mundane. I got a response and then someone edited the response. No biggie; but, the person who edited the response was not shown as the same as the person who wrote the response. Okay, it could have been a moderator; but, it showed up as another casual user.
Lets go through the options and I do have my own blog and the person who through me off a social media site years ago was the owner and a friend, someone I truly love. I know how these sites work. My dear friend who tossed me off her site was redesigning it so that I could be allowed back on if I allowed my words to be edited and checked in advance. I am not very good with that; but, appreciate the effort she put in and her affection. The problem with that is that you accept being edited in advance of people hearing you say and I am not good with that.
Anyways, I caught this website doing something wrong and misleading and called them on it. I asked how such a thing could happen and they buried my question. They hid it from the others on the site. It was very respectful, I have had this blog for years and it is apparent how cautious I am not. I keep it kid friendly and pg13. I regulate what is posted here and so does every social media site. They want to hear what you have to say, so they edit after you have posted not prior. My blog edits prior and all media has that option on the web. I do hope my readers are understanding this.
Now one of the moderators of the site I have been kicked off of said that I had found a glitch in the system. How many things would allow one user to edit another users post? Lets think about this, the site automatically generated the name of the poster and the editor. On my site, I cannot edit your comments, I can delete, post or not post. That is how blogger words; but, when you own a site you can let anything happen that you want.
I have hundreds of comments on this blog. To post as one of them, you need to sign in or post as anonymous; but, the website merely records how you posted. If you wanted to edit someone else's post, you would have to log in as them and then it would be clear that you had logged in as them. You couldn't log in as me and have it show that you logged in as yourself. That just doesn't make any sense. You can do identity theft, you could log in on my blog using someone else's log in; but, you would show as them. You cannot log in and edit someone else's identity and show it as yours. I have never seen that in my life until this weekend on a major site that spends hundreds of thousands of dollars a year to keep their site up.
Got to go to bed kids, have a nice week.

Happy 4th and a couple or articles
Bangkok Post - EU accuses 13 banks of derivatives collusion. Here is a line from the article that I like, "These could include moving LIBOR, a global interest rate indicator, from London to Paris where it would be supervised by the European Securities and Markets Authority." In the end control over the markets will be internationally regulated, believe it.
Fox Business - Euro Takes a Hit as Reserve Currency.
After posting the last link, I decided to go the Fox Business' main page and found this. Major Road Blocks Linger, But Driverless Cars Are Here to Stay. I love this line, "At the end of the day, it’s inevitable. This is going to happen," said Karl Brauer, senior analyst of Kelley Blue Book. "We’re going to get to the point where we are going to have the ability, if not the requirement, to have the car doing all the thinking for us." I also like this line, "One solution would be if the government were to require that everyone buy an autonomous car (probably not feasible), or if it gave a deadline for people to purchase basic technologies such as vehicle-to-vehicle communication systems that allow cars to speak to one another on the road."
And finally this. Rianovosti - Sexy Russian Spy to Snowden: Will You Marry Me?
and her picture.
I wrote about her story when she was arrested for spying in the United States and was sent back to Russia. I dated a Ukrainian for a bit, I love their accents. For some reason that I have not quite figured out, Russian women love me. This particular Russian woman is bad news. Her father was KGB and she was a spy.

Going to bed, feeling better and some news.
The Pimpernel had a mild case of heat stroke. I hope I am better now. Here is some real news.
The Telegraph - EU makes bank creditors bear losses as Cyprus bail-in becomes blue-print for rescues. How not surprising, predicted and discussed on this blog already. It is a show, the script does not change and bail-ins will occur.
Alex Jones - The Federal Reserve Is Paying Banks NOT To Lend 1.8 Trillion Dollars To The American People. I hate to use Alex Jones; but, they summarized it well regarding the money that is being held, parked while it could be invested in the United States.
Yahoo - Reuters - Fed pledges to get tough on Wall Street as adopts Basel rules. The establishment of international law over monetary policies is in effect. I even wrote about Basel in the last few weeks and discussed this.

Muggy and Hot and News
I am an old desert rat and can usually handle the heat; but, not when it is humid. I don't do well with humidity and it has been over a 100 degrees and humid. I went to church yesterday, it is not air conditioned and came back completely drained. I took the day off and have been pumping in the water. Getting old is not as much fun as I thought it would be. I will post a couple of news articles and go to bed early.
ABC News - Putin: Edward Snowden Can Stay in Russia on One 'Strange' Condition. It makes perfect sense, the condition is that he stops working against U.S. interests. Putin also mentioned that Snowden is not one of the agents. There are rules to the game. Neither the Chinese or the Russians want to be involved in this one and neither is surprised that we data mine, they do too.
EMERCON of Russia - Several documents signed during joint work of Russian Emergency Ministry and FEMA. Heck, the Russians are even coming to America in the even we need help in an emergency.
Wired - Mad Scientist Sees Future Where We Sell Our Quantified Selves on eBay. This is a short article and well worth the read.
